CVSI had sales of $48,244,000 in 2018 out of $390 million. That was 12.37 percent of the market. I believe we had 11 percent of the market but this percentage will suffice. The 1.3 billion projected by 2022 seems low. Imo Wolf

More Ohio stores expected to stock hemp-based CBD now that it's legal

CBD products are mostly found in upscale grocery stores such as Lucky's, but more conventional grocers are getting in on the act. Kroger sells CBD supplements in stores located in states where the extract has been legal, and now is planning to do the same in its central Ohio stores, a company representative said.

Don’t Give Up
The forecast is 2.1 billion in 2020 and 20 billion by 2024. CVSI should garner at least 5 percent market share in 2020 with sales of $105 million. 7 percent $147 million. That leaves either 19 more companies with equal share of 5 percent. Could be 12 companies with 5 percent and the fly by nights with 35 percent. The big picture like you stated in the short term of 3 to 5 years. imo Wolf

How Israel Became the Global Leader in Cannabis Research

As the United States struggles with the basics of cannabis research, such as providing proper cannabis to researchers, other countries have leapt ahead. One of the foremost is Israel, where many in the marijuana field believe the most innovative research is happening.
“Israel isn’t just at the forefront of medical cannabis research,” writes Swiss medical cannabis company Cibdol. “It is out in front by some margin.” U.S. News and World Report referred to Israel as “The Holy Land of medical marijuana.”
That’s due in large part to Raphael Mechoulam, a biochemist and professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He played a major role in finding the basic chemical components of marijuana.

Survey finds 22% of consumers replace OTC, prescription drugs with CBD

Since passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD has risen to the forefront of American consciousness as an alternative health and wellness supplement, and research finds that a growing number of consumers are using it to replace their prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
A national January 2019 Consumer Reports survey of more than 4,000 CBD users across the country found that nearly a quarter used CBD to replace OTC drugs such as Tylenol and prescription drugs, including opioids, anti-anxiety medications and sleep aids.

The Top Reasons Why CBD Can Replace Prescription Drugs
By Anna - August 9, 2019060
https://prospercbdnews.com/The+Top+Reasons+Why+CBD+Can+Replace+Prescription+Drugs
A 2019 survey by Consumer Reports found that a quarter of the participants had replaced their OTC drugs with CBD. Ever since the farm bill 2018 has been passed, people have started looking at the favorable nature of cannabidiol.
CBD is a cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis plant. This component can interact with the endocannabinoid system of the body that controls sleep, mood, and pain response. It is used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, arthritis, epilepsy among other ailments.
Ever since its many benefits have come to the fore, people are preferring it over prescriptions drugs. Why is that so? Is not marijuana dangerous, addictive, and a carrier of psychoactive properties? In truth, it is just the tetrahydrocannabinol in the herb that can make you high, not the CBD.
And even this THC has half a medicinal nature which is why it has also been used as part of the medical industry. To compare cannabidiol and OTC drugs, here’s a list of reasons why the former is gradually taking over the latter:
1 – Fewer Side Effects
When given the option of using cannabidiol, many people hesitate. The first and foremost reason for that is the worry of what adverse side effects it could bring along. In truth, the negative side effects of medical cannabis are not that disturbing.
Just pick up any OTC drug and you’d notice how harmful the side effects mentioned right there on the label are. Ranging from internal bleeding to the risk of stroke, prescription drugs only come off as less daunting because we are used to of them.
In comparison, the negative side effects associated to CBD use include minor complications such as nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, and irritability. All you as a user are required to focus on are the concentration and strain of the medical marijuana that you do end up using.
2 – Less Costly
When you compare the prices of CBD products and prescription meds, you’d see that the former is comparatively cheaper. Where a single prescription drug can cost you about $2000 in the US on a yearly basis, CBD tinctures would come for half the price.
And then look at the benefits you get from both and you’d see that people find CBD better. A survey found that 60 percent of respondents found CBD to be more effective than pharmaceuticals. Moreover, 75 percent of people found CBD to be more effective than OTC remedies. Clearly, CBD is more preferable.
Though cannabidiol can treat a myriad of health issues, it is not some elixir that can cure all health problems. Therefore, you may still require prescribed meds for many of your health concerns. The point is not that you should ditch OTC drugs but when the choice between those and CBD arises, cannabidiol may be a way better option.

Further, cannabis companies that operate in the U.S. aren't allowed to list their shares on these reputable U.S. exchanges -- at least until the federal government changes its tune on marijuana. That excludes multiple billion-dollar market cap companies in the vertically integrated dispensary industry.
With the vertically integrated dispensary operators barred from doing so given their involvement in the U.S. cannabis industry, and moderately sized growers like Aleafia Health and Auxly Cannabis Group failing to meet the minimum share price requirement, there's only one logical marijuana stock that should be making the move next: Charlotte's Web Holdings (NASDAQOTH:CWBHF).
Charlotte's Web is a leading hemp producer that's responsible for retailing a line of hemp-based oil and cannabidiol (CBD) products in more than 4,000 retail locations. Already seeing an incredible uptick in CBD usage in the U.S. -- CBD is the nonpsychoactive cannabinoid best known for its perceived medical benefits -- Charlotte's Web is expecting to receive a healthy bump in sales and profitability following the signing of the farm bill into law in December. The farm bill legalized hemp production and hemp-derived CBD, literally opening new retail doors to the company's products. More importantly, with hemp production now legal, nothing stands in the way of Charlotte's Web listing its stock on a major U.S. exchange.
Charlotte's Web absolutely checks all of the boxes needed for uplisting to a major U.S. exchange, including market cap, volume, and liquidity. And it certainly doesn't hurt that it's one of only a select few marijuana stocks to be profitable on an operating basis, without the assistance of one-time benefits or fair-value adjustments. Don't be shocked if Charlotte's Web follows OrganiGram's lead.

Hemp in California: Clock ticking to get bills to governor’s desk
Published 5 hours ago | By Laura Drotleff
California has lagged behind other states in passing hemp policy. That could change in the next month.
A pair of long-debated hemp and CBD proposals are awaiting California lawmakers when they return from their summer recess on Monday. At stake is the future of the hemp industry in the nation’s largest agricultural state.
The state legislature has until mid-September to act on hemp bills and if passed, send them to Gov. Gavin Newsom.
CBD in food and drinks
One of the proposals would permit hemp-derived CBD in foods, beverages and cosmetics. The bill cleared the Senate Health Committee in June but faces one more committee test before before being sent to the full Senate

U.S. CBD market could grow to $15B in five years, says Piper Jaffray The FDA's previous decision that red yeast rice is an acceptable dietary supplement with naturally occurring levels of Monacolin K may set precedent for full spectrum or broad spectrum hemp extract that contains cannabidiol, or CBD, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Lavery tells investors in a research note. However, CBD is the active ingredient in FDA-approved Epidiolex, which complicates its regulatory treatment, the analyst adds. He notes that because CBD is in an approved drug, the FDA rules do not allow it to be marketed as a dietary supplement. Nonetheless, given the red yeast rice precedent, the analyst "would logically expect" the FDA to allow products with hemp extract to be marketed as over-the-counter dietary supplements, "even if its views on CBD isolate may be less predictable." Lavery believes the U.S. CBD market could be $3B-$6B in 2020, and grow to $8B-$15B in five years. The analyst has Overweight ratings on both Canopy Growth (CGC) and Tilray (TLRY).

Beckley Canopy Therapeutics raises £7.4m for cannabis R&DNo logoGeorge UnderwoodDecember 4, 2018
Oxford-based biopharma Beckley Canopy Therapeutics has raised £7.4 million to develop a range of cannabis-based products for the treatment of pain and to help tackle opioid addiction.
Investors include Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent, billionaire UK investor Jim Mellon and Dr Annalisa Jenkins, biotech entrepreneur and philanthropist.
The company said it will use the investment to investigate the efficacy and safety of cannabis-based medicinal products for people living with addiction, cancer-related pain, and for the reduction of opioid use in the treatment of chronic pain in the UK, Europe, and North America.
This marks the first clinical trial to be announced in the UK since the rescheduling of cannabis-based medicinal products to schedule 2 following a government review earlier this year, meaning that they can now be prescribed by specialist clinicians for patients with unmet clinical needs.
Beckley Canopy Therapeutics was borne out of a partnership between UK drug research institute The Beckley Foundation and Canopy Growth Corporation, the world’s leading cannabis company.
“There is already strong real-world evidence pointing to the potential application of cannabinoids in a wide range of disease areas including in the treatment of people living with certain types of drug dependence, such as opioid addiction,” said Lady Amanda Feilding, founder and director of the Beckley Foundation. “Beckley Canopy’s research presents a timely opportunity to prove the efficacy and safety of cannabis-based treatments in a UK clinical trial setting, for the benefit of people living with cancer pain and opioid drug dependence.”
Cosmo Feilding Mellen, managing director at Beckley Canopy Therapeutics, added: “The rescheduling of cannabis based medicinal products provides the UK with an opportunity to take a leadership role in cannabis regulation, setting a gold standard for patient access that the rest of the world should follow.
“As a new business partnership investing in UK medicine and research, we would like the government to ensure that access to medicinal cannabis is as simple and straightforward as possible for patients.”
Addiction is a growing concern for countries across the world – there are over 190,000 overdose deaths globally each year, with the majority attributable to the use of opioids. The opioid crisis has become a key focus for the US government, with president Donald Trump signing new legislation aimed at promoting research into painkilling drugs that are not addictive, as well as expanding access to treatment for substance use disorders for patients on Medicaid.
If the FDA continues to kick the can down the road, you will see states stepping up and regulate as they please. It’s all about the Benjamins Omar, you understand. Food and Drug outlets will play it safe and do what they are doing now. Topicals and bath beads. The CBD cosmetics will be in Department stores and luxury shops. The Good stuff drops and gummies will be in the Stores doing what they are doing already with the expansion of convenient stores and mom and pop gas stations. Internet sales will expand and be more lucrative and competitive. Whatever the FDA does or doesn’t do, CBD and retailers will easily find a way around the FDA barriers. What authority does the FDA have to enforce their regulations if the states ignore them. Look at how the states are ignoring the Federal Government when it comes to illegal immigrants and the sanctuary cities and states issue. The CBD infused products into Food And Beverages will be the hardest hit and more of a challenge to get around the grasp of the FDA. Columbus Stops Prosecuting Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession Charges
By GABE ROSENBERG & NICK EVANS • AUG 7, 2019
https://radio.wosu.org/post/columbus-stops-prosecuting-misdemeanor-marijuana-possession-charges
Klein's new policy cites recent legislation signed by Gov. Mike DeWine, which legalized hemp production and CBD products in Ohio. Previously, hemp and CBD oil were considered the same as marijuana under Ohio law.
“The passage of Senate Bill 57 requires a distinction between hemp and marijuana, but our current drug testing technology is not able to differentiate, so we will not have the evidence required to prosecute these cases,” Klein says. “As we continue to review these policies, SB 57 has opened up a broader conversation about how we should prosecute minor misdemeanor marijuana possession cases in the future.”
Klein also mentions the recent ordinance passed by Columbus City Council, which slashes penalties and eliminates jail time for possession of small amounts of marijuana. Under the local measures, people caught with less than 100 grams of marijuana would be fined just $10, while people caught with 100-250 grams would be fined $25.
“Considering the substantial cost of new equipment and testing versus the possible benefit of prosecuting these often-dismissed cases, in addition to the recent ordinance passed by Columbus City Council, we plan on engaging in further discussions on whether to make this new policy permanent,” Klein said.
In division wide email obtained by WOSU, Interim Police Chief Tom Quinlan shared with officers what he told City Attorney Klein.
“I can live with the language as long as we agree to continue pursuing charges of other crimes that originated from a MM [minor misdemeanor] marijuana stop," Quinlan says he told Klein. "Therefore an officer questions someone with what’s believed to be pot and the person obstructs official business or the like I would reject the idea the officer did not have an underlying basis to stop and investigate potential illegal activity."
Quinlan expressed concern about unintended consequences from the change to Attorney Klein, and suggests not making the policy permanent. He also brought up an effort to create an officer lounge, as compensation for what he terms "pulling another tool from them when policing our most violent neighborhoods."
The City Attorney’s Office echoes that point. The office will also keep its policy on OVIs based on marijuana intoxication.
Klein's policy change doesn't mean marijuana possession charges will stop entirely: The Franklin County Prosecutor's Office can still pursue state charges on possession. State penalties remain at $100 for possession of up to 100 grams of marijuana, and $250 and up to 30 days in jail for possession of up to 200 grams.
Council members said they wanted the penalty changes in response to persistent racial disparities in the enforcement of drug crimes.

A1 Here is the precedent that will support your premise concerning GW being able to control the CBD market because of an isolated CBD patent. Myriad Genetics a stock the Wolf pocketed 140 G’s within 7 months of investing in January 2018. The Wolf plans to do the same thing here Plus more you understand. MYGN stock symbol stands for MY God of Nazareth. Someone up above was looking out for the Wolf you understand. Can the Wolf get an Amen. E.F. Wolf
FDA CBD DNA just a Brady Bunch of acronyms you understand.
“Naturally occurring DNA sequences, even when isolated from the body, cannot be patented, but artificially created DNA is patent eligible because it is not naturally occurring.“
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_for_Molecular_Pathology_v._Myriad_Genetics,_Inc.
Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics, Inc., 569 U.S. 576 (2013),[1] was a case challenging the validity of gene patents in the United States, specifically challenging certain claims in issued patents owned or controlled by Myriad Genetics that cover isolated DNA sequences, methods to diagnose propensity to cancer by looking for mutated DNA sequences, and methods to identify drugs using isolated DNA sequences. Prior to the case, the U.S. Patent Office accepted patents on isolated DNA sequences as a composition of matter. Diagnostic claims were already under question through the In re Bilski and Mayo v. Prometheus cases. Drug screening claims were not seriously questioned prior to this case.
The District Court for the Southern District of New York denied the USPTO's motion to dismiss, 669 F. Supp. 2d 365 (S.D.N.Y. 2009), and found that patents were ineligible, 702 F. Supp. 2d 181, 192–211 (S.D.N.Y. 2010). On appeal, the Federal Circuit reversed the decision and found 2-1 in favor of Myriad, 653 F.3d 1329 (Fed. Cir. 2011); vacated and remanded, 132 S.Ct. 1794 (2012); 689 F.3d 1303 (Fed. Cir. 2012).
Myriad then appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. ... The Supreme Court granted certiorari and unanimously invalidated Myriad's claims to isolated genes. The Supreme Court held that merely isolating genes that are found in nature does not make them patentable.

4:01.46 That is the time that Super T posted the $16.9 sales and .03 eps. How was that possible when we didn’t receive the CVSI alert for over 8.5 minutes after the bell? 4:08.50 to be exact.

If Cwbhf has over 6000 retail stores and generates 50 percent of their sales from online and CVSI has close to 5000 retail stores and only 15.7 percent online sales. It appears that CVSI is doing better in sales of products in stores than Cweb. Cwbhf is spending 4 million more dollars on advertising, marketing, General, and administrative areas of their business. If CVSI is doing better in stores, then it is possible that CVSI can bypass them in total sales. With over 100’s of fly by nights selling on the internet, it will saturate that part of the market. Being in stores will allow Cvsi to continue to be one of the leaders in the cbd market.

Breakdown of R&D Selling/Marketing , General, Administrative Costs. Comparison/Contrast with CVSI quarters and CWBHF R&D And GASM costs.

Not confirmed. Someone out there knows. The CFO stated 15.7 percent from online sales. Maybe I was mistaken for Cwbhf claiming 51 percent online sales. According to Joerg Grasser online sales grew. Wolf
“We ended the second quarter with PlusCBD Oil branded products sold in 4,591 retail stores nationwide, up 133% year-over-year from 1,968 retail stores at the end of the second quarter of 2018. We saw growth across each of our distribution channels, including our online sales which accounted for 15.7% of our second quarter revenue.”
Our strong year-over-year revenue growth translated into a 33% increase in gross profit, both gross margin continuing to improve sequentially to 70.9% in the second quarter, up from 70.8% in the first quarter of 2019.
Nothing unusual about the other three companies mentioned in the tweet. VFRM and Cwbhf were going down along with CVSI. VFRM ended up down 13 percent and Cwbhf ended up down but did bounce back somewhat. I think they were shadowing our misfortunes. Something in the earnings report brought us down. I believe it was the mere 13 percent of internet sales from the previous quarter. Correct me if I’m wrong. Was it around 51 percent. The other take away was the upcoming sales in brick and mortars, primarily CVS and Kroger’s that will lower our margins. At least the catalyst I mentioned for the fall of stock price in my opinion is out in the open. Next quarter will be the surprise one. The shorts know this fact very well. We have three months to recover and hopefully it will be an up hill battle from here. Dr. J was correct when he too observed the low volume that brought the SP down so rapidly. The positive out of yesterday’s fall was the millions of shares accumulated. The board was filled with lots of negativity. I don’t worry about my short term loss, it’s my daughter’s inheritance you understand. That’s Life. Wolf
Vandry mentioned that CVS was closing stores. Out of 9000 stores, only 49 bad apples got plucked you understand. Too funny to laugh. Wolf
