I wonder when we will be out of beta
we have enough problems with the markets
we don't need aggravation from the charts
we need and expect quality service
re: How to put blank space on chart
on "Chart Attributes" just bellow the chart, on the far right you have a box named "Extra Bars".
If you put lets say a 5 in there, then a 5 unit bars blank space will be added to the right
it will be 5 hours if in 60 min chart or 5 days if in a daily chart and so on
glad I could help
how do I scan for stocks where
the 20 EMA is been above 50 SMA for the last 60 days ,
and
in each single day for the last 40 days 20 EMA has never been downward ,
and
both averages have been above EMA 100
TIA
bot some BGO. Let's hope I don't have to average down..
it's on 200 DMA and it looks upward
I know I know the gold is down recently but hey how else would've this be possible

is there any way (or anywhere) to see charts for options for QQQQ ?
delayed or even end of day is no problem
like candlestick with open high low and close, and vol.
daily chart is good enough although I won't mind hourly chart
it will help me to get a better feel for options
so far I'm gathering data manually as to build a chart of my own. And I'm not even clear how to do it
TIA

but at least the 60 min
is it a big deal ??????
nobody asked for this ?????
charts' down when you need the most
no apologies, no care, total "so what" attitude
it makes you puke

sloooowww and crawling
if u r short Intel right now do yourself a favor and use a protective-stop for cover
just a friendly advice
you might want to check out Ballard. BLD.to (BLDP in US)
donnab, about ~what's so hard clicking "save as default"~
1 - this (advice) is for when someone builds first time he's charts and lists, is it not?
2 - 'alan' as an example has many many many charts ALREADY built and why he should have to go through this, especially since StockCharts heralded that SC1 will be CONVERTED BY THEM into SC2 WITH ALL THE SETTINGS. This should've save 'alan' from all that personal scrambling, should it not?
3 - upon "save as default" and "apply style to all" , will not all the annotations from the hundreds of charts be LOST ?
If so how is the problem solved then ?
4 - more importantly => I have chartlists that include different time frames. Upon using "save as default" and "apply style to all", will not change all time frames into one thus screwing everything, will it not?
I see this as a serious shortcoming in both SC. We should be able to use "apply style to all" to change all charts bearing same time frame ONLY.
5 - I'm not gonna argue about URL because I don't know much about it, but the old one used to be handy as I did not need the reordering feature since I could reorder easily with it. Also I could use PC memory and/or temp files to go through hundreds of visited charts INSTANTANEOUSLY. With the new style this is ruined.
DOWN !
congrats to shorts /e
yes, we get bad puny annotation windows
it's very BAD
you can not do anything with it
see donnab, no need to change ANYTHING on MY SIDE as far as my hardware and/or software is concerned.....
Just as usual.....
I can see the today's charts of 'croseus' and 'laptoptrader' just fine

My guess is that their java got somewhat corrupted by a program or something and a refresh of it will eliminate the problem, but it's a wild guess
(this is provided that the charts need java to show)
thanx for the comments and I do appreciate the improvements you mention as well as others (although ..... I wish I was chief-in-charge of the quality in this process... I am a DEVIL when it comes to quality - no shit passed by me unobserved! EVER)
what's with that firefox that you like and what's with that IE that you hate?
GL
how can you say "MOST others can see it just fine" ?
I saw same red x-es along with him and others
'Croesus I', there is a pumper or two and the rest are real customers of which many are frustrated paying customers.
I guess you are able to tell the difference.....
The frustrated posts are TRUE and genuine and you should take note of them seriously.
Note that those posters also mention the good side of the service and you should note them as well.
You also say you are familiar with SC1 (free version).
It's nothing like the pumpers want you to believe but it seems that they (people in charge) are willing to improve.
The work on SC2 is a testimony of it.
Of course willing, intending and doing are not always the same and you have to have a substantial dosage of tolerance..
It's easier said than done when you pay
Some issues were solved, others weren't.
All in all I would say that the service is decent even with the negatives around.
... when it's working that is , because it has hiccups
hope it helps
sage, ain't this market funny..(bidu)

thanks
good job
re annotate .. I see lines are off at times
like way off
now we can't trust our own annotations?
we better have a photographic memory with SC2 .....
sage, I don't use wireless (15sec/8-9charts)
SC1 used to be faster
we were told that SC2 .. will be faster
why the game for?
I kind of disagree, other chart services offer free delayed charts too and don't seem to go down .....
down, I only wish I had the SC1 now even if for backup
grrrrrrrrrr
alan, SC2 has some BAD colors. Why the old color option was taken away? Why the intensity of colors was taken away? this is an OBVIOUS DOWNGRADE. The old red candlesticks were very dark red and I liked that. Now they are washed along with all. The colors SUCK SUCK SUCK.
It is like ChipA is getting savings off using less paint LOL.
We used to have DARK colors, like DARK brown and very dark red. They were taken away and replaced with garbage colors.
We used to have a dark brownish-red PPO - GONE now, and instead I have to scramble for something I don't want nor like and actually HATE.
Why was so difficult to let us have the old colors ??????????????????????????????????????????
this is absolutely insensitive to customers
The very least was to let us keep the old colors and intensity. This is just good business common sense.
It is true , the SC2 is downloading SLOWER by some few sec (not 15, not yet anyway). I would accept this downgrade but I can NOT be happy about the color crap that is being forced into us totally in disregard to common sense or fairness.
Colors for charts is like sugar in chocolate. You can't screw with it taking it away without screwing the product and the customers.
NOT HAPPY
'Sensor', by letter or by number
Swami, where it is stated that DT is different than any other time frame of investing?
IT IS A CAPITAL GAIN it is not?
what difference does it make if it took 1 minute 1 hour or 3 months ?
I also think that redeeming RSP shall be under capital gain rules
maybe it is already but I don't know
I also think that if it is not wanted to be seen as capital gain and they want to see it regular taxed, well, then it shall also be enjoying the benefits of that category not just the downside, no?
one benefit would be the possibility of gaining RSP room and sheltering gains in there..
alan, posting the charts here was/is the right thing and everybody can see what it is all about
the moving average lines are thicker which is a downgrade (less accuracy) , in fact they are about twice as thick...
the indicators are also thicker
in the SC1 the lines were smoothed without option and they were kept thin!
Now in SC2 there is an option for "Line Smoothing". If the lines are fuzzy in some time frame I unchecked the option of "Line Smoothing" and the lines became clear. However, they also became rather 'rough' while clear and thin. In SC1 they were NOT 'rough' and they were thin and smoothed by default which was an excellent default in this regard.
the intensity of colors we used our eyes with are changed which is another downgrade. (also in your presented chart) Notice for example the dark blue of the moving average line it is now light blue in SC2.
Colors shall NOT be changed (and definitely not washed) but added to, and thickness is essential. Maybe control over thickness and intensity of colors will solve all this. Colors before were good and intense. It is hard to wash away from a light blue to create some shades.
personally I like the change to the new format of volume and histogram bars and find them of higher standard, but I agree that visibility may be a bit of a problem for some people.
As a side note I also find it silly that we don't have the option to create a set of charts in a 'favorite' (hourly, daily, weekly) and then just apply a symbol to THE WHOLE this 'favorite' and see it automatically in all three time frames.
If then I like something and need to annotate I would temporarily save such new 'favorite'.
This way I would check very nicely and fast anything and won't have to clog the system with many favorites, just few annotated files. Maybe the system will be more free and faster this way?
2,900 charts saved ..... wow
personally I don't see the need of that if I'd have this described option
ChipA seems to want to improve and while I share some of your frustration I think he deserves credit. I doubt he intended to sabotage quality or create frustration. When you change things it is normal to have some glitches. I hope he will not give up and fix these IMO little issues, so this new standard will shine.
He said some people see the new SC2 better (clearer) . Well, of course ... not everybody have good vision and/or better understanding ..
Some people will always accept anything. That's why they can still sell faulty tires and dangerous medicine. It does not make them any better though..
Good stuff is only when it is generally accepted as such. SC1 had some things missing but I had no complains!
SC2 has the potential to become the new star provided people will have no reason to miss and regret the SC1
IMO while I understand that ChipA wants SC1 off to free the system, it shall be always (/long time) available in a limited (little if any support- i.e. no saving) form for subscribers so we can always be able to go back and compare the systems in case we need to see something.
ChipA, that "Line Smoothing" did the trick
ohhh, my eyes are thankful
I assure you it was not "my liking" it was indeed fuzzy, outright smudged (1 minute chart - the stochastics fast line)
and I do have a good (and new) LCD monitor
but in other time frame (daily) it was OK WITH the "Line Smoothing" and actually looking better WITH it, while in the time frame where it was bad it is good only now with this "Line Smoothing" off
maybe the grid you mention might be the difference
but the grid was/is set to normal on both
I will try and report future issues on your site.
However, if I'm not mistaken we can also insert charts here on i-hub, no? Thus becoming clear about an issue.
"Reporting problems via iHub just leaves us guessing"
granted people didn't do it though
somewhat i-hub feels good for sharing info
thanks
alan, SC2 has some problems I agree.
Some lines like stochastics are still BLURRY in some time frames.
This is not a huge problem but the SC2 was said to download faster but I see that the reverse is true and in fact they are slower/longer to download.
I disagree on SC2 being a bad chart and there are some elements I really find handy that were missing. The clarity though is still lower and I can't understand how this could be possible.
For that matter I also can't understand how the owners accepted a system that has lower visual clarity as if they won't know the difference.
Let's hope that SC2 will be fixed of whatever has to be fixed.
sage, the rise of CDN$ kind of hurts unless you have and only deal in it exclusively
I hope it doesn't mean oil OVER $100 and/or worthless USD
bdco touched down on a bouncing support which is the low of today. The 'book' says that that should be a buy. Being nimble on taking profit (to around 6.5x) wouldn't hurt....
However, if the stock closes bellow 5.1 one of these days the stock will enter a more severe bearishness.....
GL
p.s. I finally got with the skin back on my back and some $$$ from intel LOL
it looks as it bottomed and the boys are buying back but nothing can be taken for granted
msft meanwhile will create a lot of margin calls for a wile to come
yes you are correct
there is support there from what I can see
however, this is a low vol stock and I have limited experience with their ('crazy') behavior
at this point even if I wanted to buy it would be not today but tomorrow with an order placed near today's LOD (that yet has to be decided) ..
it entered in an evident top pattern which suggest elevated risk (party took a break or is just over)
the better bet would be just bellow 5 short term (right at this moment at 4.75 or so)
GL
gold & bros. are up-trending regardless of fluctuations
..until USD is stabilizing (no matter the reason, including EUR crash)
or
..until EUR replaces USD as world currency (anybody's guess)
or
..huge Gold reserves are discovered (not impossible)
until one of these targets are met there is NO up-target until Pluto..
tvi and aru look BAD (risky), but aru looks more solid especially if closes above 3.31 at least, which will provide a theoretical up-target of about CAD 5.
GL
let the puppy run
nothing you can do
I want a piece but I have to use common sense
either wait for a correction (flat ok to a certain extent)
or
buy in increments regardless of price
but the 2nd option sucks a little because my previous post reason
this co has plenty of downside because all the speculation and trading and oil still an abundant fuel, but just as well has huge upside. The only real danger to downside would be if another co is coming in with something way better (kind of likely risk given all the brain power in the world .. and $$$ potential...), or suddenly oils is dropping big which is not much likely.
In either scenario this co still has a future.
And so the shareholders' accounts...
Croesus, take me back in time pls
good for you
CDN 10.9x is kind of a magnet and I suspect a return one of these days
but if the stock is consolidating for a while above this then I would definitely expect a long up-trend
another scenario is to rally madly up now (at least a double)and crash to these levels and bellow like a lifeless stock for a long while thereafter (it would not make it a dog)
this stock is worth trading
