Am I the first to ask when the next earnings report is to be announced?
To anyone: At the risk of asking anyone about trading strategy, I throw this out for the board.
My "breakeven" price is $2.00. I'm thinking of putting a "stop/loss" order in for ALL my shares at $2.00. If the worst news possible happens, and the stock starts diving, what are the chances it will go to $2.00? Hard question, I realize.
I'm just concerned that I'd lose everything on BAD NEWS. I'm also concerned that the MMs might take it down to $2.00 just to grab some stop/losses. However, I would be watching the PPS very closely. If it started tanking on NO news then I'd pull the stop/loss order away at a certain point. But if it REALLY is bad news I would feel safe at least to not lose everything.
I only posit this because of all the conflicting news coming out these days. Someone posted this morning that the PPS could go either to zero or $20. That's a little scarry for me. And, furthermore, I don't trust Obama's people and I'm a little skeptical of the courts also.
Opinions?
Is that your prediction for the stock price? Or is that just the mood you're in.???
I never served in the military, but if I had of, I would have loved to have been under your command.
FNMA - long and strong.
Exactly. I've always thought that a pragmatic compromise would make all sides coming out smelling like a rose. But, Obit may weigh in on why this might not happen, legally, that is.
Reminds me of a fellow poster :(
Bets can, though, right?
Right on NavyCmdr - I'm with you on this one. Everyone needs to lighten up and take a chill pill (and don't take anything seriously that you see on network news - even FOX)
It looks to me like we are back to where we were a couple of months ago when Stockprofitter & I bet the PPS would go to $3.50 and it didn't -- he lost that bet and STILL HAS NOT PAID ME. He is avoiding me. :)
OK - my respect is back. :)
I was wondering also. I've been sending him PMs for 3 days - no answer/noreplies.
I'm cool; I'm down; no problem. Let's just not close our eyes to those folks in D.C.
Because lawyers (i.e., politicians) know how to play with and manipulate words.
How do you know this? Are you a MM?
Right - there was no bill - only the implication of a bill. My point is that if the issues you & I agree on - the unfairness of it all and the unlikelihood of a real bill being passed - really were believed by the shareholders on this board, then the price would most likely NOT have gone down this week. And why is it not to be believed? Because the politicians are NOT to be trusted. They don't care about fairness at all - only in being re-elected.
Then why does the stock go down EVERYTIME a senator or congressman suggests that FnF should be broken up, taken down and no compensation to shareholders?
Don't get me wrong, I agree totally with your legal arguments; BUT we are dealing here with the federal government - and I don't trust ANY of them.
"Makes sense"? You kidding? You think the congress makes sense? Surely you jest.
Here Here - bravo - 100% agreement.
When you say ALL IN - do you mean all your $$ are in one stock? FNMA? (You don't have to answer)
I thought after the last earnings payment that FNMA was in the black already ???
PM is repaired now - sorry for the mixup - see the PM I sent you.
Long & Strong FNMA
OK. But if you really believe that Congressmen will tell the truth about ANYTHING, much less their $$$ and stockholdings, you are sadly mistaken.
I challenge you then: If you get time, please post on IHUB a list of all the senators/congressmen and their stockholdings. Good luck.
LOLOLOL
Thx - I'll look into it.
The past 2 days' chaos is exactly why I would love to be a day trader/flipper. I was SERIOUSLY thinking about selling yesterday around $6 but I assumed there would be another quick bounce. If I had sold at $6 I would have had to wait 3 more days to get back in. That's why I envy MonestHind, RiskyChick and the others who have margin/cash accounts and are able to play the dips.
Oh well, when I retire . . .
would be nice to get back to over $5.00 - if not, then by end of week.

agree risky - let's all stay calm - we've seen this before.
That's pretty much the question here - been going on the board all morning.
I don't trust these politicians. My whole point in my post was that if "they" are wanting to wind it down and restructure, etc. how could that be good for the stock? Confused here.
questions/comments:
1. The bill hasn't passed
2. What does "winding down" really mean?
3. If "winding down" really means winding down, why is the stock price going higher?
4. Just about everybody on this board thinks that FnF will not be winded down
5. Am I wrong that there was no mention in the article about "conservatorship" in any meaningful way?
6. I'm eagerly awaiting Zargis, Obit, and even MonestHind's comments on these events.
Flippers and day traders have made TONS of money trading and flipping this stock; nothing wrong with it. I can't (yet) but I intend to when I retire.
One of our fondest memories was a day trip to the via reggio (the Italian Riviera) Absolutely gorgeous!! Had a pina colada to DIE FOR (well, actually I had two).
If memory serves (and it doesn't a lot of times), I don't recall the stock ever tanking rapidly between 3:00-4:00. When it did tank a lot, it usually midday. I could be wrong on this one however. Not saying it won't tank a little bit tomorrow however.
Yep - next time in Italy our list is: Lake Como area AND Tuscany plus a return to Rome.
Venice: take a street map. Some streets just END with a wall! not kidding.
Milan is easier to navigate - be sure and see the Duomo Cathedral.
Honeymoon: Likewise in Rome, Venice, Florence & Milan. Wonderful memories.
OK - it is what it is - and it will be on your turf so we are at the mercy of your schedule. Agree about the excitement factor tho.
Toast: All I ask is that when you set the date, give us a window of 2-3 weeks, so we can plan the trip. I don't want to miss this so I might have to "clear my calendar" as they say to prep for the trip. :)
