That whole 6th chapter is full of good lessons......so much is said that folks have to do this or do that to enter heaven, sometimes folks get to set on works, but then this can lead to pride, "SEE what I did", I am being a very good person , etc.......Now allow me to quote from John 6:28-29...."Then they said to Him what shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."......I have noticed that in many places in Scripture it is said that our requirement is to believe, that is it, believe, nothing more, nothing less. Sounds like a short cut, not really so, if we believe we take up a cross and follow, if we believe we learn to walk with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to be our guide.....If we believe then all else falls into place. BUT, if we don't believe then we are lost.......just hit me, maybe you "doubt", well in my opinion doubting can be a very good thing, remember Thomas was a doubter.....
1 Peter 4:8---"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins."------ALSO-----Proverbs 10:12--"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sin"
I am still digging into Revelation but in that digging I was chased over to 1st and 2nd Peter and this verse I had previously hi-lited and many times over the years have made mention of love covering a bunch of sins. I suppose this is confession time for me, lol. I always thought on the verse from Peter was if I showed love a bunch of "my" sins would be over looked (made me feel good)----NOW I have thought of this for years, never really digging in to the verse that much, so I am guilty of taking a verse and selfishly making the interpretation to fit "ME". After all, it clearly says that love will cover a multitude of sins, & I thought "my" sins. This morning in reading this and looking for a clear understanding I noticed in the footnotes that this really does not apply to me & my sins personally, but, from the footnotes--"God's people should not seek to reveal or dwell on anyone's past; rather they should be quick to forgive (cover a multitude of sins) and unwilling to hold other's faults against them. (prod. 10:12)
I have said and believed for years that in order to understand Scripture one must know and understand what comes before and after a verse....other words get the whole story....I was guilty of not following my belief......Maybe someone can profit from my error.
God Bless and have a great Thursday
The last line here is so very important---God knows it all, even before we speak....We have no fear of speaking what is on our mind, God already knows
Matthew 6: 5-8---NKJV
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the [a]hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
humor is good for the soul
GOOD JOB !!! I really wanted to offer a real smart a%$^ remark.....just can't come up with now, still working on my 1st coffee
Much is said about politics----let us not forget God is in charge, we don't know or understand, but 10 to 1 says He does.......Looking in to past history, country like ours who turned their backs on God ended up getting their butts whipped. These Pansys being raised today need some hard times to appreciate the good times........Where will things end up, who knows, but God has a way of making lemon-aide out of sour lemons. My seat belt through this mess is my Faith-----When I laid on the table in the hospital , right on the fence, my mind kept focusing on ---"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me"------
All that my/our country is going through can only break one's heart, however, knowing that God is in charge and that verse from Psalm 23, what can hurt us----nutt'en
DO NOT allow the media, friends or family drag us down, stay focused---God knows what's up....all is well my friend
A lot of truth in this
I often, I mean real often wake around 3 or 4 in the morning and try to take advantage of that real quite time to talk with the Good Lord, but then my mind seems to run off somewhere else, and this has bothered me, it is sort of like being disrespectful to God. Again this morning I woke, but it was just a little past 2 and I got to talking with God and once again my mind ran off somewhere else, then I came back to God, this morning I got to speaking with God about this, it just does not make sense----I don't mean to, but I just get lost, so to speak.......anyway this morning while talking with God about what I thought my weakness was this old song came to to me-----
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit Divine!
I thought on that for a few minutes then this came to mind----my mind runs off, but I am really counting my blessings. Now that may not make a lot sense but it did to me. Although my mind wanders off somewhere I am at the same time being thankful for the life I have had, for those in my life, for those events in my life.-----These thoughts came after I got tuned into that old song, "Open My Eyes That I May See"-------Sometimes the best lessons are learned from other's mistakes, maybe one day if you get concerned about yourself or a life event, or a problem, you will think on this and sort of make it a prayer, "Lord, Open my eyes that I might see.", Certainly worth a try
OUCH !!!!! I thought I was doing pretty good, then you popped up with this----gonna get me some steel toe shoes.......OH !! WAIT, He said wise, PHEEEWWW !!! I am safe, I have been called a lot of things, but I don't recall WISE.....Steve, you scared me on that one, might have been writing to Long2retire or Greg,.....SOOO Sorry, I just couldn't pass up that opportunity
As I was studying Revelation this morning, this tune came to mind, I suppose it rang a warning just as the Scripture does----maybe not worded real good, but you get the picture
Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion
It is good enough for me
It was good for my old mother
It was good for my old mother
It was good for my old mother
And it's good enough for me
Much is said today about the direction our country is going . The Truth be known when we loose a freedom here and a freedom there then when the next generation comes along they do not miss that freedom, kind of hard to miss something you never had. I have always taught my kids and grand-kids that thought, then this morning this thinking came to mind along with Revelation and the Old, Old Song......Our Christian Religions change a little something here and a little something there, we accept a little PC junk here & there, we change our music to fit the day, our preachers alter the sermons as to not offend folks and before we know it we are worshiping like Revelation predicts.
HUMMM....Something here worth a thought or two
A good tune to have on my mind early this a.m.
Yes, Jesus took my burden I could no longer bear;
Yes, Jesus took my burden in answer to my prayer.
My anxious fears subsided; my spirit was made strong,
For Jesus took my burden and left me with a song.
Hope it haunts you all day long
The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation. After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be there, and they should not interfere with God’s divine will.
At the Baptist church, the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistry. The deacons met and decided to put a water-slide on the baptistry and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and, unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.
The Lutheran church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God’s creatures. So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church. Two weeks later, the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water-slide.
The Episcopalians tried a much more unique path by setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning. They sadly learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can do.
But the Catholic church came up with a more creative strategy! They baptized all the squirrels and made them members of the church. Now they only see them at Christmas and Easter.
Not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue. They took the first squirrel and circumcised him. They haven’t seen a squirrel since.
How many sermons have we heard over the years on the Beatitudes from the Gospel of Matthew & Luke, but none, that I recall, have been preached on the 7 Beatitudes from the Book of Revelation.....HUMMM Allow me
1. Rev.1:3---"Blessed is who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keeps those things written in it."...The only Book in the Bible that promises a Blessing to those who read..
2. Rev.14:13---" Blessed are the dead who die in the name of the Lord from now on"
3. Rev.16:15-- " Behold I am coming as a thief. Blessed is who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame"
4. Rev.19:9--- "Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb"
5: Rev.20:6--- "Blessed and Holy is he who has part in the first resurrection . Over such the second
death has no power, but they shall be priest of God and of Christ and shall reign with Him a thousand years."
6. Rev.22:7--- "Blessed is he who keeps the words of this prophecy
7. Rev.22:14--- "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city."
I never knew there were Beatitudes in Revelation until just a few days ago....HUMMM...And now we know the rest of the story
AS I read this morning, the reading made me wonder----"Revelation 6: 5-6. --" When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
Ring a bell?
I have a friend who some years ago we would go to nursing homes, assisted living and so forth and do Sunday Church services, I would offer the message and she would sing....Beautiful, Beautiful voice, anyway she is on the not so healthy side. She just stays home, really does not want folks to come by....some of that is due to fear placed on folks by the media.....BUT---If you folks would remember her in your prayers or offer a passing thought through out your day should this come to mind.
Thank You much
I went looking through my desk for some stuff for my last post, well, I need to get organized, I know it is there, somewhere in my desk, I must have put it in a secret place and forgot that secret place....sounds like a good excuse--------ANYWAY-----
I ran across these notes I had from years past when the subject of Spirit and Soul grabbed my attention. In Scripture at times they mean the same and at other times they are different----allow this to kick your ole brain in gear this morning:
Spirit--the element of humanity that gives us the ability to have an intimate relationship with God.
Soul--can be material or immaterial. Soul means life---beyond this essential meaning the Bible speaks of the Soul in many contexts ---Luke 12:26---Humans have a sinful nature.. Gen.35:18 (for thought) -- Jeremiah 15:2 (for thought)---essence of the body is remove at the time of death
Soul and Spirit are connected, but separable (Hebrew 4:12). The Soul is the essence of of the human being. It is who we are
Spirit is the immaterial part of humanity that connects us with God
Soul represents a person, life and mind
Spirit = Breathe-wind etc. The nature of Non-Material being
John wrote not to believe every Spirit --- this would be as a person, false prophets
Soul can be the inward man and Spirit can be man's attitude
Like I said earlier in this post, this was "NOTES" I ran across, and trust me my notes are no more than just notes--- I wish I had my whole talk written out...I don't know the real purpose or what the main bullet point was back then, but today it explains to me a lot of why I am--what I am and what I do. Not making excuses for sins, but we all have many times said we all sin and fall short. My Soul gets all tangled up in the world, "I WANT--I NEED--GIVE ME GIVE ME", although the older I get the less important the things of the world are-----I am thankful that my Spirit daily ask for forgiveness and the strength not to do the same sin over and over .
Keeping it simple-- we have a SOUL, and this drives us to like the things world, (covet), makes up proud, selfish, self-centered, better stop here, I don't have the knowledge or time to list it all and my toes are getting sore from me stepping on them-----And we have a SPIRIT which longs to do right, which seeks God, a Spirit which is humbled before God seeking to do His will.-----My soul may be on the bad side, but my spirit is in tune with God, one day in the future I will be made perfect until then I struggle.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to come and die on the cross for our sins---those who believe will be accepted in heaven for all eternity.
Well I hoped I help kick your ole brain in gear this morning and God Bless and appreciate this week-end which God has given to us
I think it was you, I think, lol.....anyway I made note of the numbers and have told several since your post your numbers, I find that most everyone is shocked on the abortion numbers. deaths due to:
42.7 million abortions
8.2 million cancer
5 million smoking
1.7 million HIV/Aids
*****. 1.8 million**** Corona virus
AMAZING----Somebody please tell me that we are not all upside down. Remember the old saying "The Blind being led by the Blind?" As a child when adults would say that it was sort of funny, well today here we are.
sometime when you are just sitting around or maybe thinking what in my Bible should I read today or just thinking on God's glory and purpose or maybe just a desire to draw near to God, may I suggest just open your Bible to the Psalms, and just finger your way through the pages, not reading any entire Psalm, just allow your eyes to take in a verse here and a verse there, of course allowing or asking God to offer a message to you. I have done this several times and "ALWAYS" have enjoyed the quick trip through several Psalms. Never fails that several verses will speak to me, not every verse mind you, but I always am the winner when I do this. I often wonder if God directs my eyes to present a short message to me. OH WELL, give it a shot and see how different verses in the Psalms can come alive to you. Maybe I should say dance through the Psalms, music for your ears
I have given thought, not to just the offering of an alter call, but the message a church offers out....Not judging, I have way more than enough on my plate to worry about, let alone worrying about others, but I do get concerned,----I have often wondered if the message of Salvation has not gone from "the Grace of God" to "Works". I can not speak for other churches which I have not attended---that would be judging, but my church, The Methodist really has a lot of focus on the WORKS they do----They feed the poor, the do stuff for kids, playgrounds, school supplies and the like, help the homeless, I mean they really get serious about their works and that is a good thing.....it appears to me that they take the glory not giving God the Glory ----See what we have done attitude. I often wonder if we have taken the responsibility from God and put it all on our shoulders......OH ME !! I keep digging this hole, I'll never find my way out.
Maybe my thoughts or decrement comes from the way I missed the boat for years. I tell my child "DO NO TOUCH--HOT", well I do that because at one time I touched and got burnt, I am just trying help them not make the same mistake I made. I often look back at my life before accepting Christ as my Savior and clearly recognize my error, because of my sin I can easily recognize sin as sin. Been there ---Done that--got a "T" shirt with it on there
A little off subject here, but sometimes the ole brain just runs away----cut me some slack, God only knows how flaky you will be at 77---
God Bless and you good folks have a very Blessed Day
What our country needs is a good old fashioned Revival, as we can see from Southern Baptist Professor that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. I am sort of thinking maybe she would do good in the United Methodist group......I strongly admire Franklin Graham, I have heard him maybe 1/2 dozen times today on the radio asking people to turn to God, God is the answer to 2021, now he did not say that, but he did imply if you want a good year---God is the answer.....He really seems to be a good man, unless he had me fooled......One of his people in some far away country came down with the Cova virus, he took the Samaritan ( I think that was the plane) over to that far away country to bring that man home for good medical care..... He is the only person I hear regularly on the TV & Radio telling folks the way to heaven is through God's Son, Jesus Christ. and he offers a prayer......I wish my church did this
Not long ago on fb someone put something out about the last alter call, I replied that I could not remember when my church last offered an alter call, then I was surprised how many from all denominations said the same thing-----they could not remember, Just a thought, if my church, your church or their church is really concerned about our troubled world, then they really need to OPEN the door to heaven-----I know the church doesn't get you there, but the church surely offers the invitation. I am so thankful that some years ago I was called and I responded.....My experience is truly a great testimony---------ANYWAY,,,God Bless
Thank you
Allow me to just babble on for a moment...and hopefully as things in the future grab hold of me I will share. As I have mentioned previously, I am really digging into the Book of Revelation , the other day my bride told me that she had a study from Dr. David Jeremiah called 'SIGNS", she had not yet got into it but it was here if I would like to use it. At 1st, me being me, thought NO...but then I got to looking at it and all I can say is WOW !!! In dealing with Revelation, or God's Plan this thing starts in the very beginning, Genesis. Apparently I need to understand God and His purposes in order to understand Revelation---"I THINK"
I have on occasion made mention that I am a bit thick upstairs, maybe stubborn and set in my ways, but always open to help from others and 100% appreciate the thoughts of others, even if I disagree it makes me think.
I started with allow me to babble on for a bit, so I'll babble on and maybe kick your brain in gear....I have often wondered why America is so blessed in comparison to so many other countries. TODAY, after all these years and I have no idea how many times I have read the book of Genesis, read but lack understanding or missed the point---In Genesis God told Abraham to---"Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation: I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; And in all the families of the earth shall be blessed"
God promised to bless Abraham----for thousands of years God has kept this promise.
God promised to bring out of Abraham a great nation---today around 6 million Jews live in Israel, around 5 million Jews live in America, and a significant number scattered around the world.
God promised to make Abraham a a blessing to many----my mind went to all the many great contributions the Jews have made world wide to make better living for the greater population.
God promised to bless those who blessed Israel and to curse those who curse Israel. Dr. Jeremiah believes that one of the reasons America has been blessed as a nation is that she has become a homeland for the jewish people. Here the Jews can retain their religion, here they have economic, social, and educational opportunities
Thru-out today think on this subject for a bit ---- Now this is me personally, I can't help but wonder about the future of America when so much of America and Americans are turning away from God. Then I wonder if so much bad is happening because God is really getting ticked off with us. Bible History show over and over again how God would bless a nation and when they turn from Him how He took those blessings away.
One last thought, I started Bible study back in 1990 with The Scofield Study Bible, this Bible is one of the major things that led me back to Christ----Then I got into The John MacAurthur Study Bible, I just can not say enough about this Bible, John is nothing but an excellent teacher, then My Bride gave me a Dr. David Jeremiah Study Bible, I have never had Scripture speak to me as it does from this Bible, Dr. Jeremiah just has a way of making this clear to me......which lets me to a point, we are taught in Scripture that the Holy Spirit will teach us, so maybe after 30+ years the Holy Spirit is finally getting through my thick skull and offering me an understanding-------James says--"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
Now some of you may think---"What does all this have to do with The Book of REVELATION.....To be honest I really don't yet know, but after reading The Book Of Revelation over and over 5 times, and digging into words and definitions and getting totally lost I think I am getting a slight understanding. Sometimes we just have to go back to the beginning to understand the end.
Sometimes in a argument or disagreement we just have to go back to the very beginning and understand what brought this on in order to get a clear understanding
God Bless
My wife's fb page is a strange animal, often she will not get a post for 4 or 5 days...fb is quickly turning into garbage, every now & then I get some really nasty porn pop up-----don't misunderstand me, I am quite tacky, but not filthy, I mean some of that stuff would make a drunk sailor upchuck
OOOPPPPS!!!! Gotta remember, this is a Bible Board, so GOD BLESS and pray each of you good folks have a very Blessed Day-----Some days you may not be worth shooting, but God still loves you, He sees something worthwhile even when we do not
A passing thought-----My ever lovely Bride of 50 years told me a couple of minutes ago that she read my post on Facebook, about the Amen & Awoman.....she laughed and said that no-one liked or responded.......she figured that my followers were very political correct folks......LOL....OH!!! I have several church members on my fb----HUMMMM....Sounds like that ole saying "Better to go along and get along"_______I don't remember the rest of it
Sure glad I try to keep my front porch clean before telling my neighbor to clean their porch-------BUT, If the crap keeps piling up on their porch I am afraid I will put my foot in my mouth and sound off....Keep a close watch on the obituary for me....LOL
At first I just shook my head, then got curious and did a little searching. That would be Rev. Cleaver, a United Methodist guy. I have often used the thought I heard a pastor on the radio use---"We have been educated beyond our intelligence".....I think this proves his point, 1st - there is no word, O.T. or N.T. "AWOMAN"---he just thought it would be nice to make it up and get his name out there, if I may "A Dipstick"---Bible dictionaries (The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible) offers a page on AMEN, nothing on AWOMAN, so from a tacky ole man, it is BS.....
So from my post---Amen----So Be It, OR-- from the really old fashioned Methodist Church from when I was a little boy----" AMEN BROTHER !! Tell it like it is."
I often here it said, "I miss the America I grew up in"---I often say "I miss the Methodist church I grew up in".
I wonder how angry God is becoming with the human race.
and we thank you and ditto on the upcoming year
thank you, I ran over to my son's place to give a hand on his pick/up.....maybe just watched him work, ---I will get into this after while to 1st thing in the morning
Now you say that as a joke, but rumor has it they took that oil rig, you know the one that never showed up, hooked up those wind turbines, you know the ones that never showed up, , powered them both with the natural gas, you know, that gas that never showed up and now are on the way to Virginia to return my money, you know the money that Raj said we all would break even on. Now that Unicorn fits in there somewhere, but I never got the hang of that.....as I said , rumor has it, It all sounded like BS, but then stranger things have happened----
and we are still hang'n around.....good folks here on the board. Wonder what happened to those positive thinking people who made fun of us.....
Thanks, I always appreciate other's thoughts that may help me...I suppose when I spoke of my intelligence level I was thinking of my level compared to say a theologian, which I have learned that many of them are just self-absorbed. I do so appreciate others thoughts and wish I could convey this more.
With that thought and a buck50 I might could buy you a coffee at the corner 7/11....
I have mentioned that I am really digging into the Book Of Revelation and have been for a while. A Book that I have ran away from for years, I have tried & tried but always felt it a waste of time, not because of the info here, but due to my lack of understanding & education level no way I could even begin to absorb anything here. After a few weeks,I am still on Chapter 1 & 2-----Speak of being thick...LOL.. Anyway this morning I went back into Dr. David Jeremiah's introduction and he wrote concerning warnings the 7 churches were facing. So to be sure I clearly understood each I looked up the definition, which I posted below.
As I thought on these 3 things I went beyond the church's guilt and there arose a question of my guilt or may I say, does these apply to me. Reasonable question for every Christian.
WARNINGS to the 7 Churches:
APATHY : Apathy is the state of not caring. The word is especially used to refer to a lack of interest or concern about things, especially those that others find important or exciting. It can also mean the absence or suppression of emotion or passion.
COMPLACENCY: A feeling of contentment or self-satisfaction, especially when coupled with an unawareness of danger, trouble, or controversy.---An instance of contented self-satisfaction. Complacency look like the cat that swallowed the canary To look smug; to appear very self-satisfied or pleased. This self-evident expression has been in use since 1871. resting on one's laurels To be content with one's present or past honors, accomplishments, or prestige.
SYNCRETISM: Reconciliation or fusion of differing systems of belief, as in philosophy or religion, especially when success is partial or the result is heterogeneous.
The merging of two or more originally different inflectional forms.
The attempted reconciliation or union of irreconcilable principles or parties, as in philosophy or religion; specifically, the doctrines of a certain school in the Lutheran Church, followers of Calixtus, who attempted to effect a union among all Christians, Protestant and Catholic
Just a thought here, it is easy to pass judgment or accuse, but sometimes it is just a good thing to ask ourselves the question , "Is this me?".-------God Bless
You better watch out, you better not whine, I tell'n you why----OH RAJ is com'n to town......A new bag of tricks and schemes
Got a good sale on wind mills and slightly used oil drill'n machine, Do I hear a dollar??? Do I hear 1/2 Dollar????
They didn't even drop in to wish us all a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays.....
Help Somebody Today Lyrics
By Carrie E. Breck & Charles H. Gabriel
Look all around you, find someone in need,
Help somebody today!
Though it be little—a neighborly deed—
Help somebody today!
Chorus
Help somebody today,
Somebody along life’s way;
Let sorrow be ended, the friendless befriended,
Oh, help somebody today!
Many are waiting a kind, loving word,
Help somebody today!
Thou hast a message, oh, let it be heard,
Help somebody today!
Many have burdens too heavy to bear,
Help somebody today!
Grief is the portion of some everywhere,
Help somebody today!
Some are discouraged and weary in heart,
Help somebody today!
Someone the journey to heaven should start,
Help somebody today!
I need to check this out. I never thought we called to Christian Pacifism. Certain things I am 100% Old Testament......I love it when organized religion says well that is O.T., but when it is money they talk about, O.T. is their Scripture reference .....Really big, deep subject.....and I probably would suffer hoof-N- mouth issues after 2 comments.......lol.... Just got my wife to order this, if it is on Kindle.....thanks
Here is something for you to think on------This morning I listened to Charles Stanley after that other TV show I posted about and he was speaking on 7 things for Christians, one of them was trust and I think it was the one where he applied to worry. He talked about how Christians need to trust God, etc, etc, etc, then he spoke of the Christian and our worries and explained that when we worry it is God's way of letting us know we are not trusting in Him in this area of our life. "NOW" I did not word that as gracefully as Charles Stanley did but you get the picture. His focus is that God is in charge of everything and we need to trust---not worry.
Should kick your ole brain in gear
I woke "VERY" early this morning and flipped on the TV....there was a program on about the life of Jesus and the folks on there telling & teaching where Theologians with their DR. PHD. in Bible and several were Professors at well know colleges. The more I watched the more I could not believe what I was watching and hearing. Without going into my rant, I will say I think they are modern day Pharisee & Scribes like those in Jesus day.
I have cautioned folks and also have been criticized for telling folks to not be believing in everything someone preaches or teaches. Below is just 3 pieces of Scripture that to me are very important, Scripture that should be placed in your heart with faith. I suppose I could go on & on concerning the TV program but that would take away from my point------NO matter your education level, no matter your background or career choice, once you accept Jesus Christ into your heart and accept & believe that the Bible is the Word of God, then the your teacher is "The Holy Spirit." When you go to reading your Bible, 1st place your hands on it and ask God to grant you wisdom as He sees fit, TRUST in the understanding you receive . If it is from the Holy Spirit then it is the TRUTH.
1 John 2:27
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
John 14: 25-26
25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Luke 12:11-12
11 “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
Just a little something here for you to give thought to. God Bless
Call me one sick puppy, I don't care, but I saw this on fb and just had to share....my warped sense humor here....but, but

Call me one sick puppy, I don't care, but I saw this on fb and just had to share....my warped sense humor here....but, but

I have really been working on Revelation and still on Chap. 1, I have read it and read it and reread it, believe it or not it is like each time I read it something new jumps out at me.....anyway this morning I started again and thought to myself, just flip open and read where it lands....and below is where it opened to........A great message from Paul
Romans 12: 9-21

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient[a] in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given[ to hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
NOTICE-----where it is written. "IF" it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men."-----"if possible,"----sometimes, and I don't care how hard we try, peace with others just is not possible....What do you think on that? ME? WellI think if I do all I can, including to walk away from a bad situation, and the situation follows me and won't leave me alone, well, I do not think I am responsible for the outcome. However else where in Scripture it teaches me after I have flown off the handle, I have to seek reconciliation with said person.
Do you know and understand God? In the epistle of James, he tells us to draw near to God and God will draw near to us. SO, if one wants to know and understand a little about God, try drawing near to Him. Jesus taught to "knock and it will be opened, seek and you will find and ask and it will be given".
God Bless
