A different opinion about listing:
From the Sasol Co website:
Growing investor interest in Sasol, especially from North America supports the realisation that the NYSE is the most appropriate exchange for the listing of our American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).
The listing will serve a number of stakeholders, including the SA fiscus and South African shareholders. It will also assist Sasol in its global growth as a commodity supplier.
To achieve an appropriate and representative rating, it is vital to be placed among one's peer group. The NYSE is home to the most traded petroleum stocks in the world. It also offers investors greater understanding of Sasol and stability in our share price in future.
The ADRs will attract a new group of investors and significantly more marginal buyers and sellers, which should enhance demand as well as the price. //////////
Meridian also said he meant the PM, not the president.
CVX SHELLS talking, that's what you hear when you hold it to
your ERHE
This is at least more fun than the namecalling that goes on.
(trying to max my post usage)
oh joy! a new riddle... c shells to your ehre, hmmm.

I am sure that CVX XOM would like to make their announcement of a major new find, without benefiting EHRE in even the slightest way. However, if as oilp says it is like 1948 again, my advice to EO and Co is to hire some very good security people.
So, the JDA and CVX should issue a statement sometime in April, if they follow their own consistent pattern. LOL
Thanks Mark,
reminds me of the sitting around the fire scene!
Any of you oil patch geniuses own SU?
Has been good to me in the last 6 months...(up 58%) I'll keep holding that one for a while.
I am trying to help you maintain your anonimity LOL thanks for your posts and info
I think M is out of Jail, but so what, is this the M board? Don't get me wrong, I am a skeptical fan, but there are alot of people on this board who have provided good information.
Platina was the first one I encountered. And even though the guy can't tell upper case from lower, I want to say thanks to him.
BOLTA
I'm waiting, patiently, I feel like. I cannot believe the market doesn't understand the value of our holdings, but it doesn't seem to yet.
you also may want to consider selling. It's your money, if that's what you think, pull the trigger.
It's their money, if they want to sell, let 'em. You can buy their shares cheap today.
TFA
Kobi, thank you for the post:
<<Interpretation carried out by WesternGeco has enabled the identification of fifty-six prospective structures within Blocks 1 to 9, of which seventeen were defined as prospects and thirty-nine as leads. Of particular interest to ERHC, however, is the recoverable reserve potential of Blocks 1, 2 and 4. WesternGeco identified six High Confidence prospects in these three blocks alone with estimated cumulative recoverable reserves potential of 4.5 billion barrels of oil. WesternGeco used reservoir parameters similar to those known from nearby fields in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. Combined recoverable reserves potential of the seventeen prospects was estimated by WesternGeco to be 14.4 billion barrels of oil. WesternGeco partitioned these reserves on a block-by-block basis for ERHC's exclusive use in the bidding and option selection process relating to the JDZ licensing round.>>
But if we are talking conservative estimates, I'd have to say the reference to 4.5 Billion barrels is more like reality--and ERHE has a percentage of that. That's still alot of oil and I think the price should be higher, but the buyers are not there to force it. What are you gonna do besides wait? Could hire a good media person...
TFA
<With 14 to 18 billion barrels conservatively estimated in blocks 1 to 6....ERHE is sitting on significant royalities just in the three blocks where they have aquired very favorable terms. I'm shocked this stock is still under a dollar per share.>
uh, this appears to be pumping. Where do those figures come from? Where do those conservative estimates come from? Please document.
TFA
This is jmo, but I don't think it's pumping, I think that people are lazy, don't want to look up the number and just approximate. My remembrance of the correct number? $45.9 million- and that could be off a little (+-1million)
Why should there be any 8K about receipt of funds that are expected? It is not a material event, it is collection of A/R.
If Jeter is an old friend, it is easy to see why he is on the board. People are appointed to boards for all sorts of reasons, they are friendly to the CEO, they bring business acumen, they bring prestige, they bring specific industry knowlege, or they may be a political appointee.
Glad to see you are out of jail, that was quick, but it looked like your conversation with the junta was fairly civil.
TFA
The BOD doesn't get the deals done. They stamp them OK.
TFA
Kobi,
I agree with your analysis and see the new BOD members as shoring up the strength of the board in general, and specifically in the area of being able to audit the numbers. In the American markets this will be seen as a plus, since we now live with SOX.
TFA
I think that they (XOM and CVX) have contractural obligations to the JDA to turn over tech data. Their own interpretation they will almost certainly not include, but if the data is available, they (the JDA) should have some people who can interpret it and draw the proper conclusions.
If not, they are going to have a hard time monitoring their partners when trying to assess how much money is owed them when drilling takes place........
TFA
It will happen again in 3006
no, some inconsistency does't bother me, all in all the information as far as the PSC signings was right on.
Speculation about the stock price is roughly equivalent to what makes the grass grow. Fact based opinions are still just that-
You have your idea where this stock will go, and so do I, and so does Meridian, Fishdog and everyone else---until fruition, all of them have the same weight...
What EO will do is a great well of mystery. He has pulled off an amazing deal, and this company has some real assets (still TBD as to magnitude) because of it.
TFA
The lunacy on this board does not approach the craziness exhibited on Yahoo, RB. I don't really care where Meridian gets his info, it has been accurate, what could be checked.
Fishdog, great to hear you have been close to the CVX strike.
TFA
as described, the action has been slow and sleep inducing:

check it out.

There were literally dozens of analysts who wrote to me last year claimimg that oil would be $100+ this year. there is no shortage of information, just that our government has chosen to ignore that fact as well as the fact that when the security costs are added to oil, it's probably more expensive than solar.
The GoG may make you and I rich, but it ain't gonna be enough to turn the world in to a big friendly village--au contraire.
We Americans (and alot of other countries too) better start down the road of alternative energy sources in a serious way.
TFA
I hope to G that your financial planner did not advise you to put a large percentage of your savings into ERHE. Do what you want with your money, but if he did advise you that way, my estimation is you need someone alot more conservative.
I am long ERHE, but it is not without risk,BIG TIME, can mean big time reward as well, but risk, in investing is defined as volatility.
Just a word to the wise.
GL
This denial story looks like the confirmation we have been expecting. HAHA
TFA
1. No
2. yes, possibly (no one knows)
Yes I think CVX would be crazy to pay that considering the risk.
TFA
There are other places the cash can go besides taxes. THis is a US corp...salaries, any deductilble expenses. There are lots of ways not to make any profit (=no taxes).
My worst fear is that the expenses in this company will go sky high, and when the real payoff should come, there will be bk or someother sleazy manuever to insure that small shareholders never make a nickel.
could be paranoia.

uhhh, while we'd all like to believe that, it does not ring true, just coincidental.
Trout
I am willing to bet against this one.
a whole lotta folks on wall st read the FT
Just a note from another board to illustrate how many people view all Nigerian firms, and why we need to start marketing immediately to change this perception:

"the street has separated the research business from the banking side. "
if you believe that one, I have a Nigerian land/oil/gold opportunity you might be interested in.

no mention from sinopec, at least not on Yahoo.
The bigger picture...hmm. People who are trying to do some DD on EHRE go to the website and find a month old PR, are bound to be impressed, eh?
I am a big believer in striking while the iron is hot. A lack of energy in marketing from an energy company is not something you want to see.
I could have written a PR or a news release for them by now. They are listed on a US exchange, such as it is. Our concept of time may not be what the same as in Africa, but it does have certain advantages. This is a weakness, and it is showing up early.
Trout
BUT pure speculation...>>
Assesing risk means looking at he things that could happen
THen deciding how likely they are, I agree--all I am saying is that even though they have pulled off some incredible deals on their home court, it does not speak to aligning their interests with the shareholders.
A lot of people won't own this stock once they hear the word NIGERIAN...I own it (by the way lost some money on it the first time after the awards were announced).
I, like you, hope for the very best, but I am concerned about things like dilution, expenses now going through the roof, etc. It all depends on how they manage it.
Trout
While the news has been great the past two days, I haven't let my breath out yet... This talk of dilution before the co. even issues a PR about the recent successes makes me very very concerned for the sake of us small SH.
The drum beat needs to begin and be steady, and consistent. This is no scam, but an honest-to-goodness world class oil co.--A reverse split to accomplish being on a major exchange would be a step in the right direction.
I think our biggest risk here is that management will in some way capitalize on the success and leave us behind.
That's an opinion, and maybe not a popular one, but it is a realistic assessment of risk.
