Kobe, I appreciate and get what you are saying. But, apparently it was already "built" into the price at 76 cents. The price of the stock had gone up over 40% in a very short period of time. If there is no outside money coming in yet, there is no place for us to go from here.
"Buy the rumor, sell the news!" CYDY is no exception.
Nobody complained when the price went from the low 50's to the high 70's on no news whatsoever.
As always, its the long term fundamentals that matter.
I'll comment on the short term, but am in for the long haul.
Excellent response Chump, thanks. While I can get excited about what activity is being anticipated in the short run, as you know, like most others here, I am in for the long term. You are correct in saying that most, but certainly not all "buying the rumor/news" relates to earnings. In our case here, the news did not, but the anticipation was based on something. One poster suggested the other day, paraphrasing, "what do these buyers know that we don't?"
I'd love to see "new" money being invested here as fundamentals of the future potential continue drive the price up.
Thank you for that fantastic quote, and I will google him!
Good morning everyone, and I hope it continues to be. As we have seen the price of CYDY stock dramatically increase both in price and volume, strictly academically speaking, before the market opens, I can't help but wonder about the old adage "Buy the rumor, sell the news," and how that might affect prices today.

Lots written about it, of course. Its already been well discussed here as to why the price has so dramatically increased in such a short time, without their being any news to propel it. Therefore, it had to be "rumor."
Now we have news! One question on my mind now is, "does this news exceed in magnitude the rumor that drove this price increase?" We have gone up, then down, so many times, with people "yelling" out such things like "you better get in now, because next week this baby is going to double (or more)!"
I've heard it so many times already its like the stock market equivalent of the "boy who cried wolf" or "the investor saw riches." I don't want to be disappointed anymore, having maintained a strong long for so many years. We will see what all this brings in an hour. No doubt there will be some exciting volume, but which way?
So impressed that there can actually be civilized academic discussions online! Congrats to everyone involved!
Thanks Marty,
After looking at your response, I found the following site, consisted with your response.

Appears that short interest just went up 20,000 shares. Interesting.
Can anyone with trading information be able to tell if any of the buying consists of short sellers closing out or reducing their positions? Just curious, thanks!
I could have been "cutesy" and posted #20,000. Chump deserves that distinction, and nobody should call him "cutesy," as he has been an inspiration here! What a great day to reach this milestone!
Plus my investment in CYDY is back in the black again!
As for tomorrow.......?
What is the "breakout board list" please?
Jan/Feb 2018 or later. Thank you Bored Lawyer!
For the last week or so it appears that the day starts with the buyers stepping up to the plate, advancing the price. When they're finished with their business the sellers then come up to the plate and sell it right off. Then they "haggle" over it for a while, and like a hot potato a minute before the close, the last person comes in with a tiny buy or sell and "settles" the matter until the next day.
So, is all this just meaningless "static" as there is nothing going on for a buyer or a seller to do anything significant?
Thanks Amateur for the bad news.
Your link provided much important information, such as:
"ViiV Healthcare is a pharmaceutical company specialising in the development of therapies for HIV infection that was created as a joint venture by Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline."
Clearly, CYDY can't expect BO offers from these two giant pharms.
I watch the price changes at the end of the day, trying to anticipate (not that it really matters) what tiny little purchase/sale is going to push the "needle" a couple of cents one way or the other at the bell.
Today, it looks like a 1,000 shares "saved the day." Often its less than that on the downside.
All of it doesn't amount to a hill of beans as to what will be going on in the near future.
Ok, noted. Sincere apologies, and I hope you are correct on the upside, whether it be tomorrow or at a later date.
"Sarcasm light" buddy!
Woodenbear:
I have no qualms with your being bullish on the company, and I wish you every success. The reason for my "sarcasm light" is that I can't begin to tell you the number of people who have posted such things as:
"you better get in now, because this rocket is taking off and you will never see the stock at this price again," Posts like that.
Such "pump" posts, always followed by nothing happening, does no service to investors who come here and is really a turn off.
I view your optimism as just another example of this.
Nevertheless, I hope you are right!

Regarding Bucky's recent post, I am still focused on the fact that most reverse splits end up being shorted to hell leaving stockholders nothing.
I know that Bucky is a believer in the company so I respect his post. I wish there was a better alternative.
Nice pop! Good volume!
Hope we close above 60 cents today.
Don't be too "shocked" Saltz, as you know it is his "way" to provide us balanced reporting. First he establishes credibility by providing a positive message, soon to be followed by one of his "I hope I'm wrong" posts where he trashes the company. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Grip, while I always agree with what you say, your posts seem to be taking a less positive, more negative turn. Have you reached a point where you are ready to call it a day?
I'm observing the bid/ask with a 15 minute delay. Anyone with a Level 2 can tell me how the bid/ask got to .699/.75 and how the trades since then played out. Looks very strange from where I sit.
Thank you.
Thanks BlackDoggie, excellent analysis!
Thanks JPG, will check my spam
Amateur - you make all good points, but historically, most companies that do RS fail.
Thank you WAR. I will contact E-Trade.
Let's not kid ourselves. A RS to artificially raise the price of the stock, would result in a mass exodus of selling, a self-fulfilling prophecy, a death spiral,if you will. Everyone knows what happens, which is part of the reason why the SP erodes so quickly afterwards.
As others have stated, I agree that the SP should be allowed to increase "organically," not by playing with a RS.
As a personal favor, and I know it sounds dumb, was there an email sent to all shareholders, as I want to make sure that I vote this time around? Thank you.
But how many times failed?
I don't think technical analysis has had any value in forecasting price movements for this company.
The people on this Board who have referenced it are very well versed in its use and well intentioned.
I wish it was otherwise.
Interesting math.
As of 2:19 the ratio of sellers to buyers, as per Level 3 Montage, was 5.005 to 1. As a CPA and investor, those kinds of things excite me (nerd that I am!). Also interesting, that at the moment, with such a ratio, that we did not dip below .70 that somehow it held (as of this writing, in any event). Without access to Level 2, I am not getting the full picture.
Thanks Boom!
Judging by the recent price action, including today, there is nothing going on to justify the price of the stock remaining in the 70s. We are just drifting back down. To some this will be seen as another buying opportunity. I am looking forward to the next PR.
If there is a reverse split, it will give Pearsby and his boiler room buddies an "O" he will never recover from as the SP will dive back to the same price as it was before the RS.
Let's keep with the fundamentals and not dress the company up into something that it's not!
Always fascinating to me when a stock moves, with heavy volume (compared to its average volume) in a big way (percentage wise, in this case), either up or down, but there is no apparent news on that given day!
Any thoughts about today's activity?
Anyone?
Anyone know if Shane sold all or some of his shares previously, in light of today's strong advance?
Also, are the shorts "settling" their accounts today? Pears, you would know that.
