Seeing objects beyond the mathematical curve is a big thing.
The radio wave signal is another; the distance covered by radio waves is well beyond the curve.
The south pole is still a magic. With the flat earth the south pole is a ring all around the land and water and containing the water. Like a round bath tub and the outer edge is the south pole.
So the flat earth theory has been around for ever; it is nothing new.
I read a book about it, when I was young, but still believe it makes more sense after flying more than a million miles during my career.
Good luck.
There are many arguments for the earth to be flat. Seeing things beyond the curvature is just one of them.
45 years ago, when I was 20, I gave a speech about the flat earth to my college class. I dropped the subject, because I was too busy with the family, but I might get back on it.
It is hard to convince anyone. There are "flat earth clubs/organizations" all over the earth. There are templates of what the flat earth looks like.
Another very good argument is that nobody, no air plane, etc. has been able to cross the south pole. This should be easy, since with the global earth it should be no different than crossing the north pole.
Good luck.
Go BAA.
It would be nice if the DOJ launches an investigation in the "Banana republic saga".
GO FNF.
If shareholders were entitled to dividends then NWS is illegal.
At least some of the profits should go to shareholders?
Yes, I watch the accumulation distribution as well, since the announcement of recap.
Looks really good. Go BAA.
It appears that some settlement may be accelerating.
The lawsuits only go away with a fair settlement.
Go FNF. The FNF train is leaving; be on it.
From Seeking Alpha:
Banro enters support agreement to refinance $207M debt
Jan. 31, 2017 11:44 AM ET|About: Banro Corporation (BAA)|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor
. Banro (BAA -24.4%) says it has entered into a support agreement with major stakeholders to refinance $207.5M of outstanding debt, equitizing outstanding preferred shares and raising $45M via a gold forward sale.
. BAA expects the recapitalization to reduce debt, improve liquidity and allow it to optimize operations and enhance its gold mining assets in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
. BAA will implement the plan through a corporate plan of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
The book value was appr. $ 1.60.
With a dilution factor of 3 the book value will still be over $ 0.50.
But the debt picture should improve, which should help the book value.
Go BAA.

Banro Announces Execution of Support Agreement for Recapitalization Transactions(Dow Jones)
No details yet.
Add one more item: If the warrants were exercised then more lawsuits would emerge and the current ones would not go away.
GO FNF.
I noticed same. No idea what's going on.
Almost 4 years ago I had 134000 shares at 72 avg.
Sold some at 3 and 4 dollars and bought some back around 2.
Never had less than 90000 shares.
Now, 98000 shares at appr. 1 dollar avg.
Go FNF.
The train is about to leave.
IMO, Crapo intentionally used "receivership" to see if Mnuchin would argue. Mnuchin knows better and did not take the bait.
No accumulation line?
Chance is 1 or less. If the government exercises the warrants then more lawsuits will emerge.
A negotiated deal only works if the major lawsuits go away.
IMO.

Go BAA
Deadline was today.

whats the status of fairholme lawsuit?Specifically I mean the part about paying the lawyers for the costs?I know this is a really really small part and not really relevant to the case itself, but I havent heard anything about it anymore and I thought the deadline was sometime in december.
has it again been delayed?

As soon as we get news on the re-finance, we should be golden.
Christmas present is okay with me.
I have 500k shares at 26 cents avg.
A few months ago I did not think BAA would go below 25 cents ever again. Look now.
But as you pointed out I believe the POG is driving it.
I do not believe there is a problem with the company. They have been able to re-finance without major obstacles. Hopefully they come up with a good package.
I turned 65 today; need a good birthday present.
GO BAA.

I don't see how Perry can affirm Lamberth given that judges know the entire argument made to Lamberth was a lie. The additional docs they have show the false narrative. The clear and responsible thing to do would be to remand with an order for a full record, but I still think there is a good chance for a reversal IMHO.
Unquote.
With a reversal could the government withhold the documents?
Good, still platinum.
The pursuit of the 56 documents is still going on. I will not be surprised if the administration does something to avoid handing over the documents. Any move would have to favorable to the shareholders, otherwise the document issue will not go away.
Cannot wait for this issue to get resolved. I am holding for about 3.5 years; 100,000 shares at 73 cents avg.
Go FNF.
It is clearly a hail-mary pass; hope it gets intercepted.
Go FNF.
I like that logic.
If the error is irreversible then what can you do about it?
GO FNF.
I agree with you. The Perry case appeal may never get resolved.
After the election something will happen and everybody will rest their case.
Go FNF.
This must be the first time that the Houston Chronicle pays attention.
I live in Houston and I sent a note to the chronicle about a year ago asking them why there was no coverage on the FNF cases; also asked them if they were being censored. No response.
Glad to see something now.
Things are changing.
Go FNF. The train is leaving.
My compliments for the new introduction section. More business like.
Very nice.
GO BAA.
"Getting current on all preference shares = good news!!!"
If Banro cleans up the books and do some PR, this stock should be flying.
Apparently they have the cash to take care of past problems.
Next month will be very interesting.
GO BANRO.
Long and strong, 500,000 shares @ 26 cents average.
150 days from April 15 comes out to Sept. 12.
Not sure how much 150 days really means.
What happens if the appeals court misses that date?
GO FNF.
Market might be telling us something.
Let me get my hearing aids.
Go FNF.
Wow, Gary Hindes is using more strong language.
One would think that Obama should wake up.
Yes, I am missing the runs of 2013 and 2014, but the share prices never went back to the 2012 level.
The market is telling us something.
FNF not worthless.
Go FNF.
I believe the same; courts will never rule.
Government will save face somehow.
Berkowitz said late last year that a settlement was discussed, but did not get done satisfactorily. Berkowitz was confident that the case would get resolved within 11 months; thus before the elections.
Yes, I believe the courts are giving FHFA/Gov time to do something before any ruling. Hopefully release.
IMO.
Correct, some consultants were doing Due Diligence study.
Maybe buy-out is real.
Good for me, if the price is right.
It's my belief that Sweeny would prefer the parties to settle this case. I believe Sweeny is not afraid to rule, if she has to, but the case will drag on much longer, appeals, scotus, etc.
I agree something may be going with the Sweeny case.
I hoped you knew more.
Sweeny has demanded joint status reports only. In other words she wants the parties to get together and work things out. Some deal would be good, because there would be no appeal.
She has released documents, in my opinion, to put pressure on negotiations.
Berkowitz stated late last year that talks with the FHFA/Treasury went nowhere, but was confident that this case would clear within 11 months.
So, anything may happen at any time.
