There it goes. Lets see how close
This should be a case study in charting. LOL By the book. Still a month away from really relevant numbers. Merger date is the foundation point IMHO. If there is any doubt about direction, look no further than the next two conferences they are presenting at. I see nothing but the new push from top for Authentiguard line. I think that is a prudent strategy.
Might test that 2.52 (50 DMA)
This is shall I say, the sales brochure. It is a presentation level packet that repeats what was filed in writing. I imagine with the two upcoming conferences they needed something like this to get out to the investment community. The one "add" I saw was that they have 3-5 companies (patent holders) that they are looking at. The new CEO reiterated this (with some energy) during his last interview.
NMan,
I am just an investor who probably looks at things in a manner that is different than other investors. I have read every document regarding this stock. I normally will not do that but felt it was necessary to understand the IP sector. It has enabled me to draw a picture (what I perceive) is happening. I am more than willing to share my thoughts and my personal email is chasshear@yahoo.com. I am neither a pumper nor a dumper and many times, depending on people's emotions they will interpret it differently. I just take factual information, pepper in a "few" posters info and see how it goes. If I can post something useful here I will. I just hate to see the small investor hurt by bad info if I can help them avoid it. This is just one of many stocks I am currently in. I just like this one as there is a tremendous upside to the company at these levels.
Based On?
t9,
I believe that there are several factors regarding price: First although the settlements were 4% BVSN and 5% Prob JIVE (Big Guess), I don't think the RR is that big. After you take out the 35% off the top my guess and as I stated elsewhere my biggest SWAG is the company will realize $3-$4.5M. IMHO these smaller suits merely set the table for the two big whales at the end of the line. The answer to that will show in 2nd Qtr filings under licensing. That will give a better idea. But the end of the 3rd Q will be the biggest tell. The next thing is this stock is not on anyones radar. It normally needs to cross that $5 to get some bigger firms in. I have no idea what has gone on behind the scenes but it sure looks like the merger was less than smooth. I can probably give an educated guess based on multiple filings though. Honestly, this stock has traded by the book from a technical standpoint and has not veered one iota. Please feel free to email me and I will give you a more detailed explanation if you wish. Rather not bore the board with my droning. LOL
I think they cut and pasted the last show. I hope this is our last RedChip interview.
I think our CEO needs to stop going on Saturday with RedChip TV. I am sure they heard our upset CPA and figured they will want to change narrative. I own the stock, all they need to do is execute the plan. After listening to that tool on the conference call I don't know if I can listen anymore. LOL I want Fox Business!!!!! Have a great weekend everyone, out to the ocean I go. :)
Cannot do it. Legal Non_Disclosure. I am in another IP going through a merger that has two fairly decent size settlements with RR of 4% and 5% and just like the CEO said yesterday, "Cannot Legally disclose". I suppose the adverse affect would discourage settlements if revealed. Remember, MARA is a stage One (Basically Start Up) Company. The company is doing all the right things and it just takes time. I can show you several companies in the IP arena that are listed and still can't break 500K daily volume. I have been investing for 20+ years and would say the hurdles they face are many but this company has a very good mgmt team and that is why I am following right now. What is very good about MARA is they do keep the investors up to date with what they are doing. Some good knowledgeable guys over here on this board.
Will Never Happen. Only thing you can ever find out is "Who" settled. The RR number is used as an "estimate" when the street tries to value the company. I am very familiar with the revenue line of the quarterlies. That would be an adventure in itself.
PPS Important Date:
As stated in the prospectus, at the conclusion of the merger PPS must be $3 or they will institute R/S. No crystal ball but I would expect last week of June to be flurry of PRs regarding merger and litigation to make sure price is there. Worst case 1V2 IMHO. There is one interesting little note that I just caught. I know from personal experience most major investment houses do not get in stock under $5. I am not saying never but for the most part under $5 is not their comfort zone. Sitting right there at $4.80 are exercisable warrants. I have no problem with R/S if it brings more investors/volume in. The value of my investment doesn't change.
21M O/S and only 904 shareholders of record. There is no doubt this proxy is just a matter of protocol. I guarantee the top 10-15 holders probably control enough stock to pass. I am sure a ton is kept in street name.
Not to sound pert but honestly only the company knows. There is nothing saying they are going to do it. This just gives them option if they desire. GL
There you go. Usually read these things after market since I am still a bystander. Good stuff. This is a stage one with a ton of potential. I am a technical investor by trade so I add all the news data after I look at TA. Like I said, this is not a bad thing.
This is a great answer for everyone. My guess is that with a Float at about 42M this price is too low. I would venture it is purely related to what exchange they get listed on. The AMEX is the easiest. PPS has to be $3 unless you have $50M market CAP then its $2.
A company conducts a stock split for two amin reasons:
#1 They want to shrink the float in order to get funding from Capital Investors.
#2 They want to get listed on an exchange.
I have no idea that is company specific and I am sure that there are more knowledgeable posters on MARA. I just have it on my watch list currently.
Remember, The big companies (i.e. Hudson Bay) have their stake in Lexington. It transfers over when the companies merge, The street cannot invest in a "private company" IP play. Once merger is official then DSS will have many more players. The proxy vote is just going to be a matter of protocol. Legacy owners I am sure are figuring this is their best bet to get their money back. Have a great day on the market, check back at end of day.
I figured you were a bit deeper in the pool than you portrayed. I came into this with a heavy fundamental research agenda. After I thought I had that done, I laid the TA on them. And after all that.....I got in about 3 weeks too soon. Thats what 20+ years gets me. Fortunately this is one I planned on holding a bit, pending other major events. I got enough others to track on a daily basis. GL
Boston,
Adding to that, I believe that this was a marriage of absolute needs. I do believe that DSS has some big $$ behind it and expertise in the commodity driven side of their business. However, you only need to look at last 10Q and realize that their future revenue is going to be on the technology side. (IPs, Security Products, etc). The old management was out of their realm a bit. Add the coupons.com litigation and you can see where I am going. I have not carried the water on DSS as I am new to the stock. In my very humble opinion this stock will trade back and forth with an occasional spike here and there until Quarter 3. Once the financials on the combined company hit the street I think that will be the real story moving forward. Included in that will be Pre-Markman hearing run-up. Why I think that will be the significant event is the fact that these smaller guys are settling out. That already gives DSS/LTG grounds to move forward. Whoever said it earlier please follow their advice: NEVER use just information you read on these boards as a basis for investment. (Including mine). This IP thing is the wild west. LOL
Nolerman,
Just giving you a chartist view of the other IP board you post on. Your support is currently .40 with a big drop if it falls after that. and big resistance at .44.
I have attended these in the past. This is where companies that are seeking investors normally go get the word out to the investment community. Every investor should get a copy of presentation to learn the focus/direction of an organization. Remember, it is a sales pitch but you can still learn some things.
Agreed-but from a strictly chart perspective (Don't get crazy longs) it is a little bearish on the candlesticks. However it would appear that .50 is your main resistance level at this point. Support seems split at .44 and .40. But in the short time it has traded I would say it is bullish but I am a long way from saying I am comfortable trading IP's. I'll get there.

Well I see DSS has become a "Quiet Zone". Not surprising. That conference call was brutal. I understand the reasoning behind the can't comment deal but it sure didn't help cause. (Publicly) The NY CPA just blasted them. Obviously there are many who have been in this stock a loooonnnggg time. The good news is that it appears they are finally done with SEC and off to shareholder vote. I am figuring they have the proxies to pass despite some long time holders feelings. My gut tells me this has not been an easy lift legally. With all the S4's and what I heard today reference cost it must have been a tug of war. I think the execs are tired and just want the merger done, which is a good thing. I was in combat for a year so I can wait six more weeks till merger complete. I think that is THE game changer.
Amen Brother. BTW I like Vodka on Friday at about 5:15
$3.7 being this quarters revenue
The only thing that changed (And I confess, I am a revenue Hawk) was a decrease in revenues. $3.7M. I am still a long way from locking in this IP sector from a trading stand point. Earlier today there was a ton of buying at 3.10 and I thought thats where it would hold. Alas, no joy. I will be interested in opinions after earnings call.
There was a ton of buying at 3.10 today. However the 10Q wasn't really anything earth shattering although numbers decrease a bit in some areas fractionally. I have been curious by lack of attention from the street but my guess is that once they announce "Merger Complete" this thing will be treated differently. Will be interested on your take regarding the conference call. I will have to listen later.
Mixed Bag. Gross profit up. Losses in packaging up but they predicted that last quarter. Three other areas revenue is up.
Q&A during earnings call will be where the real gold is IMHO. Just first swing gotta look at details later unless someone else gets to it before me.
Roth was one of the questioners in the last earnings call.
awesome. I like this as I can stay out of the green/red mentality and just talk specifics. No emotion when I invest. Thans
PI, I wish I could say I was smart but I chose this company for a reason and sometimes its just plain better to be luck than smart. Initially this was a blip on my screen from a TA stand point. I agree with the VHC analogy. I know its currently an IP play but don't seel that security product short. The new beta format is instantly helping them realize income and I expect that to be addressed today.
DSS TA for tomorrow:
BIG at 3.14 is the 500dma and if gets above that look at 3.25 then 3.44 but it really has little resistance till the recent highs 3.5 and 3.6.... above those it will be all about if it rides the upper bb or violates. I am in no way stating it will go up that far. This is what the chart says-nothing more nothing less. This stock has been textbook in regards to Bollinger Bands IMO. The million dollar question is whether the street will start acting like DSS and LTG are the same company.

PI. This was driving me nuts. I knew I had heard or seen this. This was from the last earnings call and my guess he is saying (BVSN as we now know) could be valued at this: The questioner asked how to value the most recent settlement:
Robert Bzdick - President and Chief Executive Officer
Not always the straightforward thing. But one thing I’d say is, if you look at the last round of financing that Lexington did for part of the merger as we disclosed in our S-4. We saw approximately 10% of the company due to experience investors for about $5.5 million. So the year the company at that stage when we had acquired the portfolio and assembled initial management team was around that number. So it’s sort of a on a market approach and that will you sense.
LTM-Replied on other board. Don't have a dog in the fight yet. LOL
After reading this 10Q this is absolutely a start up. MARA has really had a ton to do just to get to this point. Since I haven't read much except this 10Q my initial reaction would be that they are a perfect candidate for a merge or someone buy them out. I would find it hard for them on the surface to get listed unless they have a partner. Now that being said, they are absolutely an interesting spec play but other than little bumps I would have to see a key event (Markman Hearing or such). They have a lot of heavy lifting to go and litigation announcements are a long way from completion. There are a couple of other things I look at and I will never compare companies in this sector as they are all so vastly different. Looks like they have a good mgmt team so lets see what happens.
