Marijuana Gets One Step Closer To Legalization In Texas
Benzinga
By Laura Brodbeck
Rep. David Simpson (R-Texas) introduced a bill in March that would make marijuana use legal in Texas and on Wednesday the Texas House of Representatives Jurisprudence Committee approved it.
The approval means that the Lone Star State is one step closer to regulating marijuana similarly to alcohol as is done in states like Washington and Colorado.
Surprising Results
Simpson's bill is a big deal because most believed it would be turned down without question as policymakers' support for marijuana legalization in that state has been limited. In Texas even medical marijuana is illegal, so a step toward outright legalization seemed impossible. However Wednesday's vote ended with a 5-2 victory for the initiative.

Marijuana legalization may soon occur in Texas. A bill requesting approval for full pot legalization on “religious grounds” has passed a government hurdle many felt was unlikely.

Why the Christian Right Is Backing Marijuana Reform in Texas
By Rebecca McCray | Takepart.com

If this legislative session is any indication, that could be changing. While previous sessions have seen one or two marijuana-related bills introduced, 11 different bills taking on various facets of marijuana prohibition were introduced this session—including an effort to decriminalize—and on Wednesday the most comprehensive among them survived the Texas House of Representatives Criminal Jurisprudence Committee.
Introduced and backed by Rep. David Simpson of Longview—a Republican, Christian legislator who is supported by the Tea Party—HB 2165 would legalize marijuana possession for both recreational or medicinal use and create a system for the legal sale of the plant. The bill will now move to a full floor debate and vote in the House.

I agree, waiting for the quarterly report. May 8th is not the most important day in the life of ERBB. Revenues and revenue streams are the most important. Some of the stocking of the machines and management of the machines is the responsibility of the lessee who has already paid ERBB for the lease of the machine. Last quarter Revenues were up by four times the previous quarter. If revenues keep increasing eventually ERBB will have positive earnings.

American Green products, Truth Lighting and OG Tea continue to grow rapidly. April should be the biggest single month for OG Tea sales to date while Truth Lighting continues to see sales volume improve month after month.

Marijuana Legalization In Ohio 2015: Voters Could Decide To Legalize Weed In November As Measure Moves Forward
By Philip Ross ?@ThisIsPRo ?p.ross@ibtimes.com on April 24 2015 2:33 PM EDT
Pro-pot activists in Ohio are making headway in getting legal marijuana on the 2015 ballot. The group behind a proposed constitutional amendment that would legalize recreational weed in the state has collected more than half of the 306,000 signatures needed to get the amendment before voters in November, according to WDTN-TV. If successful, the measure would make Ohio the fifth state to allow marijuana to be grown, sold and purchased by adults 21 years of age and older.

Foes Of Marijuana Legalization Can't Like These New Numbers
Posted: 04/14/2015 8:31 pm EDT Updated: 04/23/2015 2:59 pm EDT
Opponents of legalizing marijuana can't be happy about several new polls released Tuesday. Majority support for making cannabis legal is holding steady, while young adults are legalization's biggest fans. And that's true both nationally and in several swing states.
Nationally, 53 percent of Americans support legalization, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Pew found essentially the same result, 54 percent in favor, in a similar poll last year.

According to several sources inside the White House, President Obama instructed his staff over the weekend to begin plotting out a course for the nationwide legalization of both medical and recreational marijuana, cleaning up federal statutes, demobilizing the DEA from going after marijuana offenders, and incentivizing states to legalize the popular controlled substance. Obama’s alleged goal is to have marijuana legalized, at least at the federal level, in the summer of 2015, and insiders say Obama is perfectly poised to get it done.
“The President is confident we can get marijuana legalized pretty easily, given our current political climate,” says one White House senior aide.

Marijuana Legalization Poll 2015: Swing States Favor Legalizing Weed Over Any Potential Presidential Candidate
By Philip Ross ?@ThisIsPRo ?p.ross@ibtimes.com on April 06 2015 5:09 PM EDT
Marijuana is more popular than Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz or any other potential 2016 presidential hopeful in three major battleground states and could be a topic candidates will find difficult to avoid come campaign time. More than 80 percent of voters in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania support legalizing marijuana for medical purposes, and a slight majority in each state supports allowing adults to consume pot for recreational purposes, according to the latest polling from Quinnipiac, released Monday.

Ohio Marijuana Legalization Initiative (2015)
The Ohio Marijuana Legalization Initiative may appear on the November 3, 2015 ballot in Ohio as an initiated constitutional amendment. The measure, upon voter approval, would legalize the recreational and medical use of marijuana for persons who are 21 years of age or older. The use of medical marijuana would require a doctor's note.[1][2]
According to Lydia Bolander, spokesperson for the group seeking the initiative's certification, the initiative would "regulate, tax and treat marijuana like alcohol" and establish a Marijuana Control Commission. Residents of the state would be permitted to open pot-related "manufacturing plants, retail stores and medical dispensaries." Additionally, the amendment would permit ten grower-sellers in the state.

Marijuana Legalization 2015 News: 11 New Conditions Eligible Include PTSD, Anorexia, Migraine & Osteoarthritis
The Illinois Medical Cannabis Board recommended 11 health conditions to be included in the state's medical marijuana program. According to Associated Press, the board rejected three conditions including anxiety and diabetes for various reasons.
According to Jim Champion, a military vet and board member, he is "very, very proud" for the decision to include PTSD among the recommendations. However, the US Department of Veterans Affairs stated through their website that "no evidence at this time that marijuana is an effective treatment for PTSD. In fact, research suggests that marijuana can be harmful to individuals with PTSD."

Puerto Rico Governor Signs Order To Legalize Medical Marijuana
AP Posted: 05/04/2015 9:15 am EDT Updated: 05/04/2015 9:59 am EDT
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico's governor on Sunday signed an executive order to authorize the use of medical marijuana in the U.S. territory in an unexpected move following a lengthy public debate.
Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla said the island's health secretary has three months to issue a report detailing how the executive order will be implemented, the impact it will have and what future steps could be taken. The order went into immediate effect.
"We're taking a significant step in the area of health that is fundamental to our development and quality of life," Garcia said in a statement. "I am sure that many patients will receive appropriate treatment that will offer them new hope."
The order directs the health department to authorize the use of some or all controlled substances or derivatives of the cannabis plant for medical use.

Many scared investors try to dismiss the marijuana investment argument by saying big government will never allow it. But the truth of the matter is that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s happening all around us. And at a very fast pace. New legislation is passed in what feels like another state everyday. More Senator support. Bi-partisian support. Support from the elderly. Support from the young. Support from all classes and races. Everyday in a different state something else is going on or being heard. Famous world-recognized Neurosurgeons publicly support the legalization of marijuana such as Sanjay Gupta who produced a series of three “Weed” segments and recently aired “Weed 3? which currently ran on television on CNN.

“After years in the business we selected ZaZZZ and American Green as partners who can provide a great service through their technology but also provide support as a company who understands the cannabis industry. This is important to us and should be to all businesses looking to grow and expand. Choosing the right partners is key to survival and success,” says Dimitry Muzychuk, managing partner at Exhale.
“California is an absolutely huge market on so many levels. Working with the premier collective there is a milestone for us,” says Carl Kaiser, VP of Verified Vending at American Green. “Our machine allows a collective’s patients easy access to what they want, while freeing time for employees to assist with the absolutely necessary questions and concerns patients may have regarding product. It’s a win for all concerned.”
The entire ZaZZZ network will be online next week for all to see in terms of names, locations and products. Enhancements to the site will be forthcoming (and ongoing) but the goal is to enable ZaZZZ account management, location discovery, and additional perks available to all involved in the success of the program.
“No part of this has been easy,” says Stephen Shearin, president of American Green. “If it were, it would be a crowded market, indeed. As it is, we, as the solo pioneers, are making progress every day. At the same time, American Green must insure that our company and products are 100% compliant. We recognize the need to tread very carefully through these waters. We’ll take as much time as we need to satisfy ourselves and the communities with whom we work, but make no mistake — this is happening.”

Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R, California) introduced a new bill called the Respect State Marijuana Laws Act of 2015 on Wednesday with the support of five other Republicans and six Democrats.
The bill would ensure that businesses dealing in the marijuana trade are protected from federal penalties if they are in accordance with their own state's laws.
