Without more information, you can draw almost any conclusion that you choose to from this very limited array of data.
UUUUUHHHH ? What are you doing on the 15th ?
but nothing when compared to the second half of Q1 05
It is already old news; but, I do not think that the significance of this: ( http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=21016195 ) can be overstated...but, rest assured, I will try :)
Do not look now but AMD shares have come back smartly :)
I wonder how AMD is getting ready for that launch :)
what...no blades ?
Big order translates to capacity limitations...downbinning...which customers would you was to please...gamers or enterprise customers ?
I guess that I had better tell doug about your guess...boy will he be surprised :)
you mean...you mean...you mean...life is not really a comedy ?
What if HP and SUNW were to have put in a relatively huge order for equivalent Opterons...say, about four or so months ago ?
deleted repeated post
Do you think that what might be FX-55s might be getting redirected to more important markets ?
it really does look like something massive is about to commence
C'mon Keith...gimmie the bad spin on dis: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1758071,00.asp
Are these 90nm parts, do you see any 3300+s ?
only duh shadow doo
I actually posted on SI weeks prior to the release that I was not going to enter the competition because Flash was a "wild card" and that earnings could be as little as ten cents or as much as half of a doillar.
It is totally weird, I had that post still on my mind when I responded here. Getting old has done that to me.
Give it anywheres from three weeks to two months. BTW, I think that the current situation is actually very good.
I dunno, but I suspect that it worth waiting about three weeks before drawing too many conclusions.
The same set of letters can spell a multitude of words.
Yup, we just do not agree on just what those trends are.
You are correct; it was largely this post: http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=21000721 that I was responding to.
HINT: Gateway's actions are glacial in their speed. What you see is only a part of what has been set into motion as of six or more months ago. Drawing spit secont conclusions from each partial action is folly. Have fun.
See if you can figure out a way for all of this to hang together as good news.
I wonder how long a good resulf for intel would have taken.
probably the very last one
AMD has a bunch of design wins and introduction announcements coming. intel does not. intel's strong suit is marchitecture and that is the set of cards that it has been playing. I am not saying that intel is not giving Hector fits; but, I suspect that it will result in a net strong positive for AMD. intel is scrambling to bring relative "crap" to the market and effectively promoting AMD64 as the next new thing. intel is also forcing Hector to do what is best for AMD.
Probably not Tony: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/26/intel_roadmap_em64t/ YAWN :O)
Nothing really new, more marketing than technology. Marchitecture, not surprising given that otellini is really running things now. It does give Hector stuff to deal with though.
yeah...boo...hoo :)
What about like workstations...huh ?
This guy can bring on a lot of buying (or selling) and he seems increasingly to like AMD.
What about ML's JOSHA ? What say he ?
(EDIT) the way that i read that artiucle was that thornhill was trying to explain AWAY his bipolar approach to stock analysis.
I am convinced that this guy has waxed psychotic in his sentiment toward AMD and that this very nominal reduction can be viewed as an increase.
said Candide to Pangloss: "Truly this is the best of all possible worlds" and "there is always next quarter".
these guys are in much better shape than i feel much of the time.
What happens right after all of the ANALysts are in general agreement ?
