Stak...Actually Teamlasvegas deserves credit for posting the Retinome information earlier. As far as who is reviving, if you go all the way to the end you'll find the contact info.
If you'd like to source this yourself, go to the USPTO site:
http://www.uspto.gov/
Once there, click on "Trademarks: Search"
You can use the "New User Form Search (Basic)"
Type in the search phrase you're looking for and the site will return any current or abandoned word marks. In the information returned, make note of the "Serial Number". You'll need this to research further.
Now go back to the original USPTO Home Page. This time click on "Trademarks: Status"
In the box on the left it says, "Enter a Number:". Enter the serial number in the box, make sure under "Select Your Choice" the U.S. Serial Number is checked, and it should take you to the links that were posted yesterday.
As far as others to check, I already tested for Ovanome and Acenome - nothing there. Also, DNAPrint was abandoned as well a short time ago. That one was registered to Pacific-Atlantic Corp (George Frudakis' company). I don't know for certain, but would guess that one would be revived by DNAPrint themselves at some point.
Gotta go,
W2P
Miss Scarlet...I don't know that there is any set time. I have seen a recent filing that has seen some action in six months. Others can take much longer.
I'm just pleased to see the petitions for revival, particularly for Statnome.

GE...I was saddened to read of your son's experience, but gladdened that his guardian angel was close by when it happened.
I had a very similar experience recently. The day after Thanksgiving my sister-in-law rolled her Suburban while traveling at 65 MPH. The vehicle rolled four times and my 13 year old niece was ejected through and out the passenger window.
Miraculously, she suffered no broken bones, no internal injuries, and very little loss of blood. She had some very nasty cuts and very sore muscles, but all things considered, came through it pretty much Ok.
Times and events such as these give us all reason to pause and appreciate what is most important in our lives.
My family and I will pray that that guardian continues a close watch on you and yours. May you all have a most Blessed and Merry Christmas.
Sincerly,

Reference is made to the Convertible Debenture ("Debenture") dated November ___, 2003 issued by DNAPrint Genomics, Inc. ("DNA") to La Jolla Cove Investors, Inc. ("LJCI").
If, while any portion of the Debenture remains outstanding, DNA elects to apply for listing of its common stock on a national securities exchange, LJCI will give good faith consideration to a request from DNA to accelerate the Debenture conversions, and related Warrant exercises, to assist DNA in meeting applicable listing requirements. If LJCI does not grant the acceleration request, it will permit DNA to engage in capital raising transactions to meet such listing requirements.
If this letter correctly reflects our agreement, please acknowledge your agreement by signing below.

There is much more business conducted at these conferences than you would imagine. Look at the players that are sponsoring and attending the upcoming Lorne conference. That should answer your question.

Billy...No, actually I jetisoned alot of that old correspondence. There were many files though and I remember us beating the bushes on all of those businesses.
This was around the time you spoke with Luchese and I had a chat with that gentleman from Zengen. I remember him telling me that alpha-MSH, their principle peptide has application in cancer treatment, but that the clinical development work and subsequent clinical trials were expensive and not something Zengen was in position to undertake.
If you go to the Zengen website, there is information discussing application of that same peptide in organ transplant applications. There are applications in autoimmune disorders as well.
Anyway, it's just interesting to me that this stuff seems to be coming around now.
BTW, how did the surgery go...hope all is well.
Peace to you,
W2P
jcryan...I don't have full priviledges here, so I'll resond publicly. I don't know the answer to your question, except to say that there are things going on that we can't see. By the time we discover small bits and bring them to the board, they have been in the works for quite some time.
At this point we don't have anything to draw conclusions from. All we can do is keep poking around and use what we know to keep our minds entertained until it's time for it (whatever IT is) to see the light of day. lol
I will say this, though. Hector and Gabriel have been up to whatever they've been up to for a couple of years now. The first mention of the company going into the drug business was just this past April in the announcement naming Gabriel as CEO. Coincidentally, thats the same time as the Lee's marketing agreement with PRB.
This summer we are treated to further information from the CSO that over the course of the next year or two we will see the transformation of DNAP into a pharmaceutical company. At that time, the PRB web domain existed, but the webpage was under construction (for months it was under construction because I made it a habit to check it periodically).
Now we get the La Jolla Cove funding and bang, PRB has a website and our own Mr. Gomez is CMO and Head of Research and Developement.
Like I said earlier, nothing to draw conclusions from, just something to keep our minds entertained.
Have a great day,
W2P

Doug...We looked into PRB a few months ago. I can't remember where it appeared, but Hector was listed as a Board Member of PRB. I think it had to do with that venture capital conference he attended in Orlando last summer. That was the first I'd heard of them, and the only thing we could find on the web was a website under construction.
If you go back to the Spring of 2002, however, when Hector was first added to the Board of DNAPrint, his bio listed him as CEO of Zengen. At that time, several of us were looking under every stone we could, and spent quite a bit of time looking at Zengen, Lee's Pharmaceutical, Gel Tech, Gum Tech...Hector was only the CEO of Zengen for about six months from June 2001 until December of that same year, but it was a VERY interesting six months. Lots of business mergers and combinations. Zengen announced a strategic alliance with Lee's Pharmaceuticals back in that time frame.
Anyway, we never posted any of that information. We just always thought it was odd that around the end of 2001, Hector was no longer CEO of Zengen - in fact, I believe he was replaced at that time with the former CEO of Gel Tech (or Gum Tech, one of the two), but no announcement was ever made. BTW, that's also around the same time that Genbiomics came into being with Hector, Gabriel, and a guy named Lonnie Bookbinder as principals. We had speculated that the name "Gen..biomics" was somehow connected to "Zen...gen".
Another oddity, is that the Zengen site used to have the bios for Management, Scientific Advisors, etc. but they are no longer there. I don't know when that changed.
So here we have Zengen whose strategic partner is Lee's, and PRB who just signed a license agreement with Lee's. And Hector, former CEO with Zengen turns out to be Head of Research and Development for PRB. Not only that, but now the Lee's Pharma site is "under construction". Must be a re-construction because I believe I've visited that site in the past.
Interesting.

Be certain to visit the R&D page for PRB Pharmaceuticals. Seems their university collaborators in the US consist of a) USC and b) University of South Florida. What a coincidence.
http://www.prbpharmaceuticals.com/RD/
See if any of this sounds familiar:
Our approach to research and development is rigorously scientific, unbiased and open-minded.
In the United States, PRB Pharmaceuticals maintains extensive collaborative relationships with scientists at the University of Southern California and University of South Florida, and in Asia with the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Our general approach is to screen thousands of compounds for their therapeutic properties. Candidate compounds are then formulated into OTC products or further fractionated, screened, and purified to produce lead molecules for ethical pharmaceutical development. This results in a rapid transformation of platform technologies into viable treatments and therapies.
We are currently conducting anti-viral research at the University of Southern California. We are also conducting laboratory research and clinical trials related to influenza virus, SARS coronavirus, and other viral diseases at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong.
Plans are underway to create a new anti-viral, high throughput screening laboratory and a state-of-the-art drug discovery laboratory.
We ensure that all our treatments and therapies are rigorously tested and safe before releasing them on the market, and we provide extensive data in the Patient Product Information (PPI) distributed with our products.
PRB Pharmaceuticals' open-minded and scientific approach leaves no stone unturned in the pursuit of better solutions.

Ok folks, here's something you can sink your teeth into. PRB Pharmaceuticals finally finished construction of their website, and here's a VERY interesting surprise. It seems that DNAPrint and PRB have something in common - their CMO. But get this, Hector is also "Head of Research and Development" for PRB Pharmaceuticals.
Their first drug...an anti-viral influenza medication that they believe may be effective against SARS.
Properties Vira-38° contains compounds with a broad spectrum anti-viral effect. It is designed to treat influenza by disrupting the viral life cycle at different stages - binding, uncoating, replication and release. Inhibition of the viral life cycle results in reduction of the duration and severity of influenza symptoms. In addition, Vira-38° contains components that have been shown to be effective in inhibiting SARS CoV in vitro.

The members of the old Borg will have some pleasant memories on this website. Seems the key management personnel all came from connections to Zengen, Gel Tech, Gum Tech....Were we right all along???????

If you are accredited or sophisticated you can contact Athena. Obviously, no one is going to participate in the PP without knowing at least the outline of the La Jolla agreement. Thus, Athena will provide some information. And for the record, there IS a downside and upside limit on the sp built into the agreement.
Thanks again,

No Kermit, a bit weak on your part. So I'm now supposed to go back and figure out what I was doing when, why I may have had to leave the board, and on what day, thus interupting a THREAD (OMG!).

Manti...I think you will find that your Items 1 & 2 are both incorrect and I believe that Item 4 should read as $250K at signing and the other $250K when the shares are registered.
Later,
W2P
BBBabe...I mentioned this on the other board so I might as well say it here as well. If you are a "sophisticated" or an "accredited" investor, I suggest you call Athena.
The La Jolla deal changed the picture on the PP, but there is another placement being worked out. Confidentiality will prevent you from discussing the details, but my understanding is that the PP terms are being adjusted to make them more in line with the La Jolla funding and the dollar value of the PP has been reduced, again, because they have adequate funding assurances from the La Jolla deal.
As far as La Jolla is concerned, in general you are correct, it is much in the company's and shareholders interest for the share price to be higher than lower. Keep in mind that outside of the $500K ($250K now and $250K when SEC approves), this agreement will not execute for 4 to 6 months. IMO, there will likely be several other developments in the interim. Probably a few that you can think of yourself. It is difficult to predict what the sp might be at that time.
As far as limits, there are usually caps on the low end and high end. The high end cap is designed to provide incentive for the VC to hold, the low end to limit dilution to some certain known maximum number of shares.
BBBabe, IMO the usual crowd is just intent on drumming up fear. Is there the potential for mischief...absolutely. But they seem to be a pretty legitimate outfit from what I can see. They are certainly NOT TBF.
Manti posted a few of the companies they are funding over on the RB board. He made it sound very negative, but if you go in and actually look at those companies, none of them appear to be spiralling down due to La Jolla. In fact, a couple of them are doing quite nicely. I don't know about the individual business plans, or soundness of the companies themselves, that would take more time.
So to make a long story short...they're going to have access to the $8 million they were seeking. The amount of dilution it will cause is very hard to predict. But what we do know is that they'll have the cash to enable them to deliver on the promise we have all believed was there.
If it works out well, the company has the potential to become "wildly" profitable in which case they will have plenty of money to buy back shares. If it goes poorly, none of us are going to be happy with our investments.
But at least we're going to finally watch the rubber meet the road. I for one am anxious to see where the road takes us.

W2P
OT: goalydad...He's certainly seems to be a "slippery" little fellow, but then again, most frogs ARE! LOL

GE...Good questions, here are some answers as I understand them:
Is LaJolla to be awarded all of the discounted shares up front or are they to be rationed out as each months payment is received?
It would involve a monthly purchase, not a lump sum up front.
If being doled out each month, are they awarded based on the discounted share price at the time payment is received?
Yes, they would.
In other words would LaJolla receive a less number of discounted shares if share price dramatically increases?
Yes, they would.
That's the way I understand it based on the PR and after having looked at some of La Jolla's other agreements. There may be some other things built in as well, but publicly we won't know all the details for some time.
In fact, according to the quote by Gabriel, this won't even intitiate for 4 to 6 months. That's how long it is expected to take to file with SEC and gain approval.
Later,
W2P

froggy...You seem so certain that DNAPrint hasn't achieved a "breakthrough", perhaps you can explain to the board what "phenomena" DNAP was referring to in this PR, and if not a "breakthrough", why have they chosen secrecy until publication by USPTO.
DNAPrint Files Patent to Protect 2,425 SNPs Linked to Drug Response
SARASOTA, Fla., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DNAPrint genomics, Inc. announced today that it has filed a patent application to protect 2,425 Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) useful for predicting response to a large number of commonly prescribed drugs.
DNAPrint has previously compiled a candidate gene database of several thousand validated drug metabolism and drug target gene SNPs -- collectively known as the "PHENOME" SNP database. However, the new SNPs claimed in the present patent application were identified from a different, more systematic screen of the entire human genome. The sequence of each is useful for explaining variation in drug response to differing extents, depending on the drug, and the Company's data suggests that most are likely linked to genes in the human genome previously not known to be of pharmacological relevance. As such, DNAPrint believes it is the first to claim markers of this type and elucidate the potential of this new subset of the variable human genome as specifically relevant for predicting drug response.
The new patent application could provide DNAPrint a tremendous advantage towards developing pharmacogenomics classifiers that are specific, sensitive and predictively powerful enough for routine clinical use. "Most of these SNPs have been ignored by the genomics community. Though others may have unwittingly and indirectly linked a very small fraction of these SNPs with variable drug response, technical and conceptual considerations have evidently prevented them from yet recognizing the underlying fundamentals of these associations," said Tony Frudakis, Ph.D., DNAPrint's CEO. "Such recognition would be required to generate a competitive patent application." Indeed, a review of the journal and patent literature reveals no reports describing the phenomena that the Company believes cause the linkages.
The discovery that led to the patent application was unexpected, but part of a deliberate and systematic genetic research strategy at DNAPrint. "That we could identify linkages such as this en masse, within the confines of a relatively small research budget, is indicative of the intelligence and objectivity of our systematic study design and algorithmic approach," said Dr. Kondragunta Venkateswarlu, Vice-President of DNAPrint genomics, Inc.
To maintain its competitive advantage, the company will refrain from presenting details of the discovery until the findings are published by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
I originally thought that this was the AIM patent, but the statement that "The discovery that led to the patent application was unexpected..." leads me to believe that is not the case. Afterall, determination of AIM's has been part of their deliberate research strategy.
Oh well, by my reckoning we should be seeing this published in or around February 2004. I'm very curious to see what they've got. But I had a thought that perhaps La Jolla KNOWS what they've got. Maybe not...give us your thought.
Thanks in advance,
W2P
ellk...Check the company's financials. That is the likely cause of the decline. Last quarter Sequiam shows $111K Revs and $137K Cost of Revs.
Charts don't in and of themselves tell all. In the end it will STILL be all about revenues. DNAP revenues will grow and cost of revenues is only 40-50%. That will be the difference for us IMO.
Later,
W2P
mikenickels...I agree all the way around. Especially the last statement. If they have positive news in the pipeline, now is the time to begin letting go of it. Since the agreement is share price influenced, the higher the price, the lower the dilution.
OK DNAP, can you say coordinated PR campaign. We're all ready!
