Partnership update:
I don't see any comments in the slides where partnership discussion is mentioned for Bavi. Look at slide 4. Bavi says "Phase III: Start by year end." Cotara is mentioned as "Initiate with partner." All other slides related to Bavi don't mention anything as next step with a partner. In the Cotara slides it is mentioned. Is this intentionally placed in the slides or a major oversight? EDIT: Thanks Volgoat, slide 36 states: Multiple Partnering Discussions Underway. I like "MULTIPLE!"
Also, oncology seems to have taken a backseat to immunotherapy in the slides. Again, intentional?
Based on the efficacy and safety issues listed in the Forbes article, bavi should have a high likelihood of being approved by the FDA, or better yet, granted BTD for NSCLC. I cannot wait until management can begin touting bavi again. Maybe that day begins today.
$1.49 is the 50 DMA. We're starting to see good volume coming in on the buy side. It usually takes three attempts to push through the 50 DMA. If we do, it will help on the plus side. What is beyond $1.49 in Level II?
Think what you want but I say we are very close. 10 years is a long time to wait. In ten years there have been many companies with a puzzle shaping up like PPHM. I don't intend to miss this one. Good work to everyone able to see the forest through the trees!
That would be short covering. Finally they are giving up and cutting bait. SAC is liquidating. The others are following suit. Just too much positive for Arena.
So, in theory, is it better to walk into these upcoming investor conferences (and ASM for that matter) having already released news of BTD or do they hold off until a partner is locked in? We know that other companies have already set a precedence with releasing BTD well after the mandatory 4 day SEC window. So it does not appear to be a required event to communicate despite how some feel BTD would be a game changer.
SAC unloading shares to pay out clients that are bailing. Unfortunately they did not have a heavy short interest else we would be going the opposite direction. This is having a trickle down affect on other hedgefunds in the biotechs.
Rumors of SAC fallout: On other boards there are rumors that SAC clients are pulling their assets from the hedgefund forcing SAC to either sell longs or cover their shorts. Take a look at DNDN, ARNA and CLSN today. I recall some discussion on the PPHM board about possible SAC ownership. Could that be the adverse affect we are witnessing with the stock price today? SAC is selling their long holding of PPHM?
I like your thinking; BTD and partner. Which PR comes first? Or, is it a combined PR? That would certainly put us near double-digit territory.
The mobile website will stimulate the stock price this entire week. We will close at $1.50 Friday. In the excitement that Peregrine is getting it's act together we forget that investor conferences are coming up. Stock price slightly dips Monday. Then, when nothing new is revealed at the conferences we drop back down to $1.40. And the following week we talk about how it was options that got us again. I think that's how I interpret Corp 's hidden messages anyway. I would like to break that cycle.
If it is 'contingent,' then I say GET THOSE PEOPLE HIRED! Let's get the show on the road.
Hmmm, Director of Bidness Development...
$5.50 in September. Wouldn't that be good?
Either the hedgefund that is manipulating PPHM goes on vacation the same week each year or Peregrine has just struck serious discussions and is forced into silent mode (I know, how can they be any more silent????). Whoever was accumulating in July is done. We shall see what happens next.
Same with part of July. Twould be good if the pattern repeated until about mid -September. Then we break from it...onward and upwards.
So you are saying I need to hold onto my shares until the stock price gets manipulated up a buck? Genius! When will that be?
Wouldn't a PPS of 2.40 put ARNA below cash on hand per share?
Is it at all suspicious that the trading pattern and pps are similar to a year ago?
CMF, although in second day of negative territory, appears to be leveling out. It may be too early to call though. The recent pps ceiling at 1.47 could be attributed to technicals but it most likely is due to the average ATM price last quarter.
There are a number of sandboxes being "jerked" around today. PPHM is not one of them...yet.
Corp, you can forecast weekly sp movement in PPHM. What is your take on the sp at the end of August? Your advise is very helpful in my retirement planning (tic).
The extremely low volume today is ominous. It sure feels as though either the hammer is about to drop or there will be a surge to the upside. We are due for the later.
SEC complaint letter. Thanks EBS for the link. Compiled a similar letter with a little more "color." If I were wanting to stay under the radar as a hedge fund working the PPS I would say this was silly or amateurous to persuade others not to be so inclined. To me, the more visibility and exposure of this fraud the better.
800k could do a lot of damage on a day like today. It will be interesting to find out how this plays out.
July 30 th today. Looking to close month end clean. Cheaper to borrow against existing shares than to go out and purchase. Watch the options for activity.
Appears to be an orderly, yet coordinated short exit going on this morning. Can't wait until someone screams FIRE!
According to Corp, the PPS was going to drop this week. He was correct. 1 for 1 so far. He should advise what to do this coming week. I bought again at 1.42 based on his advise. I take that as the PPS is at the low. CMF is wildly positive so accumulation is high despite the low volume. My guess is Friday's volume indicates the beginning of the end of the accumulation. This is a good sign that a deal is near. Quite possibly, the papers were signed yesterday. Now IR is fervently compiling a fancy worded PR for Monday or Tuesday. Corp will let us know, though.
Corp, thanks for the advice! I sold some PPHM at 1.49 when you told us to and just re -bought at 1.42. I picked up an extra 1200 shares because of it. Keep the advice flowing!
This week could have been the retracement before the big move forward for PPHM. CMF typically has a short pullback period (three days to three weeks) before the stock really takes off! I have also read where instances of increased short interest only adds fuel to the fire. IMHO this is setting up nicely. Someone with knowledge of what is going on is quietly accumulating. Let's hope it is positive.
Sound familiar???
"The stock analyst, David Nierengarten, with Los Angeles-based Wedbush Securities, said the columnist's July 10 article, packed with medical and scientific language, was "factually incorrect" on one point. Nierengarten said he also does not think it's ethical for the journalist to repeat an investor's predictions of failure for the GTx drug trials when that investor gains from stock-price declines with an investment strategy known as "shorting the stock."
"I don't have a problem with people shorting the stock," he said. "I have a problem with people using journalists to manipulate a stock."
TheStreet's columnist, Adam Feuerstein, said that his article wasn't in error, but looked at things in a different way than Nierengarten, who criticized the column after it appeared.
Feuerstein, in Boston, said he's paid to analyze and provide opinions about biotechnology companies and their drugs. Working with the investor he didn't name -- whom he said is a Harvard-trained medical doctor and fund manager who has been right about drug trials before -- he concluded that GTx's drug won't measure up.
"When it comes to biotechnology, there are people who believe in these companies and these drugs and there are people who don't," Feuerstein said. "You make money both ways

AF should be in jail...
IF, this BARDA theory were true, it bodes the question of how to "hide" the revenue from these sales. Peregrine isn't going to give the product away for free. Eventually the sales would need to be exposed. "Secrecy" is difficult in the long run.
corp, just looking for some clarity.
Weird. AF says PFE can focus on PPHM. PC says he's foolish to short PPHM. Old enemies are shaking hands on ihub. SA allows positive bavi article to publish. Is the tide about to turn? Has the heat wave gotten to people?
You musn't forget the saved lives and better living. The "$$$$$" are only the icing on the cake.
CLFD still has room to climb. My guess is $18 by earnings release. Backlog will have increased and rev's in line.
Full court press lately. Must be options week. I cannot wait for $2 or more Max pain. Had to skip through a lot of repeat posts to catch up through yesterday.
Earth to Wook...Earth to Wook!
Are you out there? I see stars on Yahoo. What about you?
North good catch! It looks promising. When was this published?
EBS what gives you that impression? I think the next news is going to involve liver.
Bidrite, excellent and mature post. Thank you! I do believe it warrants a response.
