Let me get this straight, since BPs are willing to put up millions of dollars only to buy "qualified" companies, that is enough to dispell sabotage? And negotiations with multiple BPs would trigger a bidding war? Is that in the open market?
Oh, and lastly, 15 months is enough time to complete investigation into the tainted trial? What tainted trial? The one moving into phase III? So... one can lose credibility when a trial is "tainted." But one's credibility is not affected by gaining FDA approval in that same trial?
It is assumed they are going alone which is not good news...
Hope we can look back on that and admire his confidence.
It's not rocket science. FBI does not tell you to keep quiet and then allow you to go onto a popular blog site and post jibberish related to information about one of their files. I call BS on BCS! Peregrine was running a double blind trial. Avid is owned by Peregrine. Avid provided bulk bavi to CSM. From there, CSM is responsible for distribution.
Update: JBain, correct!
Wow, another of the old brigade! Any chance you can elaborate? Are there high expectations of INO management? Obviously they know how to come through with a partnership.
I would like to see INO take a similar path as my GALE investment did. It seems to have similar things going for it. The new base appears to be about $2.10 for the time being. Once I research management a bit more I may buy in with more gusto. The management of the company of which we do not name is a detriment to the shareholders. Sadly, the science has SO much potential. I could say more but this is not the board for that conversation.
Is it safe to say one can be encouraged that SK presented yesterday and we have not taken a 10 cent haircut? But then again, it wasn't webcast so does it count?
BCS, I have concluded that either you write PR for Peregrine or you were on a drunken stupor. Appreciate the banter though.
Clear sailing into quarterly earnings.
You and me both! PR that does a wonder to the PPS. Not just another PR to puzzle us all.
In June I started saying Peregrine management needs more urgency in their actions. I am starting to think Eyebuystox has nailed it though. Nothing gets progressed until options are granted. Phase III will start without a partner and, despite the predictions of some naysayers, the PPS will rise slightly. Partnership won't lock until Jan / Feb. I do hope management surprises us though.
Krakonos, the presentation is not webcast which means nothing new. I still think we will not see anything until December 16. And that is just a WAG on my part.
Announcing the start of phase III may not qualify as material event to Peregrine. Of course, I say that tongue in cheek...kinda.
I put my toe in the water here in INO. These pullbacks after big moves tend to lead to greener pastures. Looking to see if I should add soon.
And it is still listed on the company website in "Pipeline" tab. Phase II. The corporate fact sheet last listed the liver trial as 1Q 2014. I believe Shan said it would be 1H 2014 two or three cc's ago.
Technically, price action is not good at all...we know it seems to hit the $1.40 area and stop dead in its tracks
Other indicators are also not well.
Let's hope that this is a fake-down...just not good.
Threes, when two parties are at opposite ends of the Peregrine NSCLC trial spectrum it is good to meet in the middle. Thus we have botched sabotage. Peregrine moves forward. And where is JB?
HDG, Peregrine may tell you if asked specifically based on the class action information that Abbvie was a potential partner. What they will not say is if talks with them have failed. So, we don't know if talks are continuing. Peregrine should have the ante upped because of FDA approval and the botched sabotage.
Wook, the more I think about it, because Peregrine was granted phase III, the trial was botched sabotage!
Biopharm and Sulaco,
Not to mention, the accumulation shown in the PPHM charts. It gives one reassurance despite the PPS as some may equate to a poor future.
Lemmy, because I know you will ask: CMF Weekly
FDA can recognize sabotage when they see it. Of course, some will say PPS of PPHM is proof that it was not a full out acceptance of the trial to move into Phase III.
Senrex, another TA piece to check is the weekly CMF. It's been pointed out before, but last I checked it is in a nice slant northward for PPHM. It's been a key factor in the debate about accumulation. And, even more significant, the current period looks awfully similar to the time period prior to September 2012. Posting this, I know there will be some character wanting to distract and cause interference.
Also, IFU pointed out how the stock price drops 10 cents after the past three quarterly cc's. Why should this one be any different? Well, considering the calendar year ends less than 20 days after the cc it puts a good amount of pressure on Peregrine management and BP to connect before the Phase III launch. That said, I don't believe the launch will be coupled with the cc. I circled December 16 on the calendar.
Thank you. Much better than the drive-by comments. There has been interest in TA with PPHM as a matter of fact. However, the community service officers on this board seem to always shun it. As with everything, it's opinion-based. I expect a spike down in this last hour but a recovery to finish at 1.39. Appreciate the civility.
Edit: one could argue PPHM is oversold based on the BBs. Now, we're starting to recover to the $1.40s.
CA: Been there, done that...
Lemmy, without speaking for CAirish, unless you can provide an explanation as to why it is overbought other than downspinning his RSI argument then why make the comment?
Next time tell her the Peregrine charts are starting to indicate you will be rich. That should buy you some time. I have worn out the sofa myself.
Recalling a voice on the board saying something about lower highs and lower lows some weeks ago I look at the past 5 trading days and question why they don't say anything about the higher highs and higher lows Peregrine has been having.

We all understand what is going on here. Now it's time for Peregrine to put 'plan B' into action. Time is of the essence.
Sabotaged yes. Not botched. There is no evidence of it being botched.
PPHM taking the high road until the judge dismisses the CA.
Thank you IFU! Much more eloquent than I could put it.
"partnership opportunities are a big push for our company" I do believe that PPHM wants to partner; however, there is nothing in that statement which alludes to a partnership being any closer than his prior usage of "discussions".
I took this to mean that the company is doing all it can to drum up partnership opportunities wherever the could. Kind of back to the basics.
I think the phrase "partnership is a big push for our company" would have been much more positive because one would assume that the partnership process was almost done and PPHM was just making the last big push.
I have never doubted PPHM's intent to partner but seems odd they would be making a big push for opportunities because I would have expected opportunities to already have been abundant.
Still very difficult to know for sure but I am always conservative when it comes to PPHM.
If that were the case, who would be sitting on the ask? Why not let it run and sell into it slowly? I think it's someone else deliberately keeping price low.
Waiting for the 10:30 slam to buy more. $1.41 is the lid this morning.
Dia, With no posts remaining I didn't have the chance to respond to your post yesterday. And after seeing the start of a nice little run up today I wanted to refrain from posting this in the case it could be taken negatively. I believe we are on the same team here and both have similar end goals in sight. Originally, my response to you had to do specifically with King's use of "big push." Respectfully I put it out there that we cannot assume "big push" is strictly positive. Having talked with IR multiple times I've heard Chris state that some of the iHub posters are taking what he says or King says and passing it along in an exaggerated context. He has said this multiple times to me. With that said, I take the cautiously optimistic route.
With regards to the below:
Those who believe that the market indicates the true or real value of stocks are very niave in my opinion.
Someone is making it difficult to not let T.A. be a factor in today's action. Highly doubtful the ATM is causing resistance.
Was today's price increase due to the SA article? If so, thanks MD! Or, is there some anticipation of the CA resolution?
Md, good article. Well written! It would be interesting to get BMS's and Peregrine's IR opinion of it.
Did the SA editor not allow the sabotage chapter of the history?
If you take the BIG PUSH statement seriously then it should be placed in the context of other things King has said.
Dia, I appreciate the enthusiasm and optimism. "Big push " can be interpreted in different ways. One way that is not so positive and could mean they have NO interest and are looking for anything before they move into phase III.
I don't think King and the rest of Peregrine can face further credibility issues. There are a number of key objectives stated as "before end of calendar year 2013." I recall harping on King in June about urgency. Less than 45 days to get things done.
Re: class action decision. I misspoke earlier when I said it will be decided 11/25. That is the date of the final hearing. The judge will rule sometime after that date.
Corp, let me be the first to apologize. A heartfelt apology for having an optimistic perspective of little ole Peregrine and the incredible opportunity with bavituximab. I know having so many optimistic opinions on the board makes it very difficult to police. The holidays are near and no one should have to work so hard to disparage Peregrine, the management, the stock and now the supporters on this board. Yeah, it's frustrating to see so much love. In the U.S. bullying used to be accepted in grade school but things have changed. Bullying is now even being rethought in the NFL. Can you believe it?! Soon, it could be abolished from Internet message boards. That would make policing the PPHM board very difficult.
Again, I apologize for having such a positive aspiration for Peregrine and bavituximab.
lovingly,
The Other Guy
Seven. Truthfully, I don't think we have all the information to make a conclusive decision yet (thus part of the reason for the current stock price) . I have been vocal about SK 's performance on the cc's and at the investors conferences. Having discussion with company officials my impression is he is refraining - for whatever reason. I believe there are forces wanting bavituximab to fail or be weakened (Fargo sabotage). I believe there are traders who play this stock as they play any other emerging biotechs. With the number of trash talkers bashing Peregrine it makes you wonder how big bavi really could be.
Peregrine seems to be on a path of convincing the right people about bavi's capabilities. It's important to raise the level of institutional investment in order to stabilize th e stoçk price. The right partnership or deal would hasten both of the above.
All in all I am cautiously optimistic.
Exactly! I don't think it was the sabotage that is hindering financing - especially since the FDA has approved the once-sabotaged trial to move into Phase III. So, like I said, it wasn't the sabotage that hindered it, but once the CA is dismissed a lender may be more willing to move forward with another form of financing.
Sabotage was just an unfortunate event for those living with cancer who would really benefit from bavi. Peregrine will eventually surpass the frivolous lawsuit brought on by the daytrader who's lawyers have hired contractors to bash the company. It's a vehicle used quite often in the financial world unfortunately. The sabotage didn't help the cause.
After the sabotage in Fargo last year Peregrine is forced to do additional Phase 1s. It's a shame. Those who really need bavi are not able to get it as quickly as management originally planned, but eventually justice will prevail.
Once the CA suit gets thrown out I would imagine funding is going to be more readily available.
Mojo, you make an excellent point. It will be interesting to see who blinks first. It might not be either of the two. As has been pointed out, the buyout of bavi may be the only option left for one of the "multiple" BPs in partnering discussion.
The jury is still out for me on that one. But I wouldn't put it past a desperate plaintiff. Desperate measures for desperate times.
We have tornado warnings in the Chicago area today. On the Peregrine iHub board there is a bit of spinning going on too. And i see we are now protecting the world from anonymous opinions on a message board. Sure is great to live in the U.S.A. where patients of cancer deserve the best care available - well, not quite yet.
