Aurus did an amazing thing today--
They showed that they are listening to their shareholders.
Over the past several days I, as well as many others here, have been touting the merits of a recurring cash dividend. I had preferred cash over stock mainly as evidence that the company was indeed producing at the levels it claimed. Being a young company, I wasn't as surprised at the stock dividend as the statement that ALL FUTURE DIVIDEND PAYMENTS WILL BE IN CASH.
It is unheard of for a company to broadcast it's future intentions in this manner & I don't believe they would have done this if they hadn't been reading this board.
As far as trusting the company, they certainly earned my respect by coming through on announcing this dividend when they said they would. And when you think about it, the payment was well-crafted & designed to do two things- reward shareholders & build long-term value.
Lastly, those who are bashing the stock dividend would have also criticized cash. I was invested in Patriot Scientific when they issued two .02 divis and the naysayers whined that they would have preferred a stock divi and seen the company use the proceeds to "build shareholder value". And PTSC is currently trading @ .64, down from over $1.20 when the 2nd divi was paid- so what good did that do?
As of today we were all given a 2 cent dividend, & all I want to say is THANK YOU MR. DOVGAN & AURUS.
EOD release? Get AURC now or else....em
You can have mine @ $2.00+, OK?;)em
I accumulated shares over the past eight months on the open market, same as everyone else. And if I'm not mistaken, there are/have been others with a large position; Westeffer had a boatload of shares at one time & still has 250K...
I don't believe it would go that low MJC- there are plenty of investors (myself included) that will be holding for the big payoff. There are plenty of flippers around, but it's not like this stock has a huge amount of trading shares. Only a 39M float of which I have 900K. If enough longs hold AURC long term, it will ultimately mean a higher PPS- no matter how much short-sellers, bashers, or MMs try to knock us down.
I'd be surprised if this stock ever saw less than .125 again- divi announcement or not.
Hope you don't regret that move Rufny, it appears as though MMs are expecting news today. If we get the .02 divi some people are guessing here, people will be chasing this stock up in a major way
The whole issue can be as complicated as a person wants to make it. For me, it boils down to:
a) What kind of dividend the company rewards shareholders with
b) How much will AURC have in revenue in 2007? They claim it will be in excess of $300M
c) Exactly when will we see financials
These are addressed in the most recent PRs and I don't care to get embroiled in the rest of the shell game at this moment.
Great entertainment on the board today-
Just seeing the excitement and glee from the bashers is hilarious. Anything to drive the price down a few rotten cents so they can save a few bucks...
If you stuck a chunk of coal up their rear-ends it would be a diamond within a week.
I have to object to your reasoning, Westcott-
If what you say is true, then why should AURC even mention the 3-day dividend announcement deadline they imposed on themselves in the last PR? Playing games with semantics is just the type of tactic that so-called scams are noted for.
To be quite honest, if it is a cash dividend of any real substance it won't really matter if the announcement to shareholders is delayed, but some investors (including me) do get annoyed with PR games. If they make a decision on a dividend & wish not to disclose the information, all they need to do is say so. And there is a long way to go before t0day is over, so this discussion is premature at this point.
That would be my grenade :)
140K @ .16- & filled within 5 min in a 40K & 100K chunk.
Plenty of positive vibes going tonite- hope mgmt pulls through with great news and we never see less than .50 again. It's getting quite annoying seeing this stock with this potential with such a paltry market cap.
BTW, what is anyone's take on the low float in relation to the total OS? I sometimes wonder if that doesn't skew the ownership's viewpoint and take the shareholders for granted. I always thought it was better for us investors, but it appears as though the share price might be held back until restricted shareholders can actually benefit from a higher PPS. Just curious what other's might think about this.
GLTA tomorrow!
FWIW- I only received a partial fill @ .18 & the buy order went in before noon, so everyone is definitely in a holding pattern until the announcement.
Do the right thing Dovgan & dole out the $$- you'll be happy you did.
60K filled thus far in an hour...
And there isn't much other volume, so it appears that MMs aren't willing to let shares go & others are holding tight(my blocks were 5K, 5K, 50K)
I think they'll honor this deadline RU-
There isn't much preparation needed for a divi announcement by board members. It's not like coming up with the first set of financials for reporting purposes, right?
Well... I'm trying to buy, bonedaddy
The price was .175x.18 and when I put in the order for 100K @.18 they filled 10K and went to .18x.19. Not a bad thing, though- at least the MMs don't want shares to go cheap ;)
Enough waiting already, time for another 100K em
Great point, s-right. Restricted shareholders are entitled to & would also receive a cash divi. And if the overall goal is to enhance shareholder value, it wouldn't take many resources to achieve this IMO. A mere .01/share could put AURC in dollarland, which would mean a $90M increase in market cap for a $1.1M investment.
Hi MJC1- my thoughts are similar on the divi and I think the company has a lot riding on this announcement. From the positive tone of the last PR, I think it would certainly be a disappointment if the divi were not cash & AURC would drop to pre-PR levels in the short term. But there are many other reasons to be long on this stock, first and foremost- will/are they producing what they claim. And I think the dividend will give us an inkling of what the answer is.
Hopefully the board has looked at what has happened to the NWOG PPS and realizes the consequences of giving investors false hopes.
The substantial attempts to question the intentions of the company this evening are a telling sign of how worried the short sellers are.
I, for one, will be contacting Aurus tomorrow to ask them a few questions AS AN INTERESTED INVESTOR ONLY. And it won't be related to ridiculous topics such as dilution or reverse splits or anything else designed to turn off management. With what we've been told, this company is prepared to go to the next level, and I would like to show my support as a shareholder.
If some of these production #s are correct, I'm thinking .01 cash divi minimum. But it's the updated revenue figures that will really make this stock fly...
I like that kind of competition Wyebelly ;)
Something tells me the MMs will give us the opportunity to add tomorrow, but watch out Tuesday---
I remember you quite well, Westeffer
You were one of the contributors to this board that piqued my interest in this stock. For you to get back in @ much higher levels than your previous basis should be a message to all who wonder where AURC is heading. I now have 700K shares & am contemplating another 100-200K this week. If you look at other stocks getting attention on I-Hub or penny stocks in general, none have the immediate potential of becoming a ten-bagger like this one.
Sounds plausible to me Wye- reality is that we will probably not see that much of a payment to drive the PPS to those levels in the short term. And I also don't buy into the notion that a stock divi will cause a huge sell-off. The lukewarm response to the PR has already factored in a degree of uncertainty.
But this divi announcement is a threshold moment for AURC. When you think about it, all the claims the company has made can be justified/questioned with what we receive. Something tells me that the board members & Parkin intend to hit a home run prior to 2007 & will give us excellent news.
It's pretty clear there will be a cash divi...
Read the last two PRs closely-
The headline of the 11/30 release stated that the mined tailings would yield "immediate dividends". This week, Mr. Dovgan further stated "we can certainly afford to pay dividends to investors".
Unless I am mistaken, immediate dividends and a dividend payment directly imply CASH- otherwise, a stock dividend would have to redeemed in order for it to be a true payment and is not exactly "immediate".
I think we're in agreement about the value of a recurring cash dividend and some visual evidence of AURC's progress. When my company completes a project, there is always an open house attended by U.S. congressmen, state governors, and the general public. With the political connections of Aurus and the need for Russians to attract foreign capital, it would be a powerful message to stage a similar event.
It would be interesting to hear some constructive actions AURC could take to promote itself from members of this board. Believe it or not, the principals of this company ARE interested in what the public thinks & is sensitive to it's concerns. As a business owner, I am continually asking our customers and employees of what we may do to improve our services/benefits. I can assure you that if it is economically feasible, AURC would consider any reasonable request that would enhance shareholder value. After all, there are plenty of restricted shareholders who have invested resources and services that have a huge stake in the companies success.
A little bit of banter on a message board is fine and expected, but it doesn't do much to help most of us attain our ultimate goals. What is really impressive about Aurus is that they have shown a sense of urgency in implementing their business plan. And though the stock price isn't spectacular, the ability for the PPS to reach progressively higher lows is quite bullish.
Sorry for the long-winded message, but I only have 3 posts available to me today & I have to make them count.
thanx skitters & cfpjbs-
I'm looking forward to adding to the discussion around here.
Believe me, skitters, I don't question that this is a real company. The purpose of me asking for pix or some sort of tangible evidence of our holdings is that the majority of us are never going to be able to see them firsthand. This is also the type of stock that naysayers will attack as a scam and use the ignorance of some shareholders that question its viability. Furnishing pictures of a ground-breaking ceremony or grand opening at a site is a wonderful PR tool & requires no major investment.
Ultimately a dividend payment and profits will drive the PPS upward, but a little salesmanship can go a long way.
Regarding dividends...
I was wondering what everyone thought about the type, amount, and record date they would like and/or expect to receive. My preference is for a .01/sh cash divi paid by sometime between 12/20 or 12/31. Such a payment would only require a $1.1M outlay and instill the confidence that raise the PPS to more reasonable levels for a producer with AURC's reserves. Quarterly divis of this amount are a small fraction of the $300M revenue they expect for FY2007 and would easily justify a PPS of between .50-1.00 on the divi payment alone.
Furthermore, it would be great if they issued updated revenue projections (they claimed that geologist estimates will be exceeded)
Finally, does anyone know of any photographs that might be available of the mining sites, equipment, etc? I don't think it would be asking too much to see this on their web site so it would give them further credibility and reassure the faithful.
Been lurking for quite some time... really like the DD and support by 2create, s-right, et. al. and decided to finally contribute my .02 to the board.
Bought in earlier this year & doubled up yesterday after seeing the div announcement. As a business owner and investor in a variety of private placements/start-ups, I look closely at the timing of PRs to get a feel for whether a company is proceeding with its business plan. For me, the NewConsult deal was huge- after all, why would a Swiss equity firm commit $10M UP TO $50M for a new venture with a capitalization of less than $20M if there weren't some major resources to back up the investment? If AURC is indeed producing gold/platinum at this moment, it means that the above funds and purchased equipment have immediately reaped great rewards.
For any pink sheet stock to follow through with it's claims is rare, & I think we may be fortunate enough to have discovered such a company. Good luck & may we all prosper--
