But, your point about recurring revenue whitie is spot on as well.
AAAAAAAAAMEN!
I think it's super easy to imagine and say what we would do while we don't have that much. But once this thing becomes real, and we start to even get close to six figures, there's no way anyone would want to lose that amoumt of money if it seems as if the pps is heading back down. For some of us, that is moving into the territory of paying off houses, or just a lot of bills period, and we would be sick if we missed out on that. Fantasy, super easy. Reality, super tough!
If she'll work for free, then yes. Till then I want every available dollar going towards the launch. hehhehe!
If Sling can make it with Danny Trejo, I think VIVA will be ok with Guzman. Just saying.
Yes they are!!!
Someone posted last week that CS told them the premium channels would be back up on the 15th. Now movies and DVR, we all will have to wait and see. They gave us screenshots on Twitter of the movies being down loaded on the 21st of October. So hopefully we're close.
Man I hate that for u Firehouse22. I was hoping tose issues could have been worked out for you thru tech support so that if this same issue came up with new customers, tech support have fixed it pronto.
Thanks once again PB for the very insightful post! It was one I was looking for since the 10q came out yeaterday.
Can't believe how useful this is. Grand kids have just arrived at the hospital too. They wanted me to change the hospital tv channel being shown here, but I told them I can't. So of course out comes the phone, and they are now watching Sponge Bob Squarepants!
INDEED!
*Stinking it up*
Wow Ohio State is sticking it up! Really suprsed.
If I have any issues, it's if I'm streaming via WI-FI at home or at work. If I switch over to data, it's seamless. But I'm sorry, I can't compare to some of you guys who are using the set top box if you are having trouble streaming. I'm using my phone till the end of November, then I will make the total switch, hope u guys get things worked out.
Thanks skinnyman1967. I'm in the hospital visiting my brother in law, and using the hospital's WI FI. I'm watching the Ohio State, Iowa game and I'm switching back and forth between the Watch ESPN app, and Viva's app, and there is virtually no difference in picture quality. They both are crystal clear. It's incredible. The only thing is ESPN is a little behind Viva in lag time. Awesome!
I feel you on that about the SS ChillinZX. But what is the one thing that Viva can now boast that those companies I mentioned earlier didn't have when they skyrocketed up the charts at the beginning of this year? That's reoccurring revenue. The continual growing sub count will allow the the retirement of shares, fueling the steady rise in pps. Not a R/S. We alao see companies with very similar SS trading in at least the $5 range. I know, O/S, R/R may not be spot on, but once again, those companies have money coming in, as will Viva. They shot up on hype alone. Heck one of them (PTC&) was almost shut down by the SEC. So no, VIVA won't shoot up like a rocket like they did only to crash and burn a week or two later. Legit companies grow at a steady pace on substance, not hype. I feel VIVAs pps will too
Yep, hard for me too at times. But that's why I'm always looking for others to invest in as well. Last week AT@S went from .43 to $1.50 in two days right before announcing the results of their phase 2 test, and came right back down. Great flipping opportunity. ST%HF are going up anywhere from .02 to .10 everyday, it won't for ever, but hey there's another great opportunity. And GR$N are killing on the big boards also. So I'm playing tickets like those until OTTV starts take off. That way it doesn't become so frustrating. hahaha
They really seem to be trying extremely hard shadowdoc1 to make sure they will not be left behind in this arena. By that I mean, we have read that VIVA are now exercising the proper steps to integrate themselves in new Visio TV sets in the near future. When they announced that, most of us were happy, but of course you had those slamming VIVA for choosing Visio because they said Visio are cheaply made. But, even though this journey may be so little frustrating to some, (me included), I think they are truly solidifying themselves the right way into a booming market at just the right time. I look at the continual addition, or moving around of channels every single day now on their site. If they were stagnant and hadn't done one damn thing with this platform once they started broadcasting, then yes all the talk of scam would have merit. But I'm content to let them work this out before the launch. And I am convinced that there will be a launch. Even those who love to ask where's the launch, and so on, those people know this company will be serious player in the next few months. That's the only reason thwy hang around this site day after day. They are hoping in their hearts, is this the day OTTV takes off? Is they day I get rich? Is this my OW#P, is this my PT$O, is this my CNB@? More than likely, they held on a little too long, and didn't get out soon enough to flip this one, (I could be wrong about them). But I would still like them to get it right. RIGHT NOW! And not when the product is out to the masses. Lots of irons of in the fire. The irons are not the important element in this process. It's the fire keeping those irons buring hot. And as far as in can see, that fire is not extinguished. Not by a long shot. Happy Trading!
PB, you won that one hands down. So glad I said I would ALMOST bet you a million dollars. Juat glad it's finally out!!!
I hope so PB. It would be nice.
I'd almost bet you a million bucks, that if he's got till the 8th to file, he will take it right to the edge. I just think he would have done it by now. Could very well be something correlating with the financials behind the scenes that is warranting the delay.
Well, maybe this could be one of those times you may have to drop the service, and hold the stock. If you have the patience and the stock starts to climb like a number of us feels that it will, you won't miss the money at all. lol Hope everything works out.
I didn't see the T comment. I hate that u seem to be going thru a lot problems. The only time I may even have even the slightest of problems, it all stems from my WI-FI connection, at work, or at home. But I'm still streaming on my phone only.
Not being mean in any way, but it seems as if something had to have happened in the past month or so. You were one of the guys I was going to hit up if I had any issues when in got my set top box up and running because you had no issues when u sent me this post on September 29th.
"The 50mb AT&T service is fine with my family. We stream HD on 3 tv's, run 4 gaming computers, and wi-fi pandora in the garage. Plenty of bandwidth to go around. I think your wireless receiver may be the issue, it may be too much wi-fi action going on, most of my stuff is hardwired."
Apparently too many people were complaining about the quality of the picture. So they are renegotiation for a better picture. Or something like that. lol
Thanks JM. Even though we have 5 ESPN channels, the reason I said 4 current ESPN channels, is because I wasn't sure if ESPN Classic would broadcast the World Cup Games live. Sorry, not a big soccer fan.
Not a problem.
Apparently he stated in a tweet that he was hanging out with a rep from fox sports. And he also said the rep from fox was at Luis Guzman's birthday bash as well. Hopefully all the soccer fanatics will get their wish. That should at least include FS1. So with 4 current ESPN channels, and FS1, it should get us pretty close during World Cup. Also, even if they don't have NBCSports by World Cup time, CNBC has a ton of English Premier Soccer. NBCSports would kick us Formula 1 fans off of NBCSports for qualifying because English Premier League soccer was always on.
He could respond after hours. Maybe.......?
I was going to hook up everything just like I have it now, with my direct tv receiver hard wired to my router in our bonus room, and my genie receiver hooked up in my bedroom downstairs. So I'll hard wire the VIVA set top box to my router, and the roku sticks to my bedroom, and family room tv's. I'm hoping I won't have any issues. I don't have a palicial estate like you, but if you aren't having any issue with your set up, I should be fine too. lol. I'm sure I will have a few more questions later own.
Hey whitie. If u don't mind. I'm heading out to pick up ROKU sticks. What kind r u using? Roku express, Roku +? Trying to make the best decision for the extra tv's I'll b hooking up. No rush on the reply.
You know we get so wrapped up in sub #'s, premium channels, Triad, etc, that we lose focus on just how lucrative customization of middleware can be for Viva and it's shareholders as well. There's a lot going on under the surface. I would luv to see it all come to fruition.
I think that's for those who will be broadcasting their own channels, not for us regular customers
I don't have my set top box hooked up yet. I would've surely thought there would have been a parental block on there. I've 2 grand kids, and that was my concern as well.
I get it. It's also giving a shout out to Halloween too. Way to go Viva!
Dude, I kid u not. I was just thinking about them adding those channels today. Theses guys are not BULL SH##TING at all. Frustrating yes. Encouraging, yes, big time!!!
As far as content, the company is still getting there. And of course it is a little tough on the majority of us waiting for the movies, DVR, and of getting the premium channels back. But I can more than assure you that when it comes to the quality of the product currently streaming, VIVA is spot on. I mentioned yesterday about a company called 24/7 streamtv. And I will say it again, that company is HOT GARBAGE. The picture freezes constantly. I keep giving them a chance cause I'm trying to watch NFL games. I've read the comments about Sling TV, and that is one of the biggest complaints about them. The constant freezing. I wonder how they've made it this far. I guess they've got money from Dish Network backing them up. So no matter how much it's killing me, I'm hanging in with them. We can see the channels that are being added, the movies are happening, ect...If we didn't see or hear anything for months (there are so many OTC companies out there like that) I would have left a long time ago. Even if you don't care for his Twitter post, I don't mind one bit. At least I can see progress.
It's truly a sleeper because of that alone. I'm patiently waiting for the addition of sports channels. I've tried a streaming service called 24/7 stream to watch NFL. And 24/7 stream is friggin garbage. No, make that friggin HOT GARBAGE!!!! The freezing is so bad after about 5 minutes in, I just have to give up watching. It'll freeze and won't come back. As soon as I go back to Viva for regular programming, it's as smooth as can be. So Viva in it current state is actually very good. Oh well.........
The one thing I can say JM is, if they haven't lived up to anything else at this stage, they have defiantly come through on the promise to be the leader of Spanish speaking channels.
