i said you assume when you said..
All I said was that the websites log the data on the server side and its available to the company. If you dont know about the server side gathering of information then you dont have enough information to say that they dont have the hit data. You don't have to go through the logs. It posts a summary. It shows daily weekly monthly and yearly totals.
that is an assumption because as far as you know, Q's programmers could have custom developed a very simple ASP script that just kept a single number in a text file on the server and increased it by one everytime they got a hit..
all assumptions until I did some real DD and found out what software they use...
now you know...
thanks irish!!!
yup, I don't know what Duke's agenda is here but he should do some more research before cluttering the board up with false information...
glad you accept you were wrong.. next time do some research before spouting off false information...
yep, Duke tried to claim Savvy never showed up...
Q's nameservers are hosted at easycgi.com (as well as listing easycgi in their registar information) which is a windows hosting website, and since Q's pages are done in ASP we can assume that Q is hosted with easycgi....
so easycgi is most likely renting space from savvy's network, hence why their IP shows up...
i already established what tracking software they use - WebTrends.
looks like you were wrong..

Savvy does not show up on the tracert. AboveNet does.
and that is what I analyzed. the final destination is all that matters, and it is Savvy.
if I must.. here is the "tracert" you requested.
7 11 ms 13 ms 10 ms above-sbc-oc12.lga4.above.net [151.164.89.94]
8 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms so-6-0-0.cr1.lga1.us.above.net [64.125.27.134]
9 10 ms 10 ms 11 ms so-0-0-0.cr1.lga2.us.above.net [64.125.28.246]
10 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms reserved.above.net [64.124.97.5]
11 12 ms 12 ms 11 ms 216.105.96.134
12 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms 216.105.107.30
13 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms 216.105.98.178
as you can see - the final destination is 216.105.98.178 - now go see who owns the last IP (you do know how to do that, right?) and you'll see it comes to Savvy.
a tracert wouldn't show easycgi.com as easycgi.com is reselling from Savvy - i thought a businessman like yourself would know such simple things?
see previous post. Q's IP is owned by Savvy. Q is hosted at easycgi.com - which is most likely renting boxes from savvy and reselling.
Q's hit-counter software is "WebTrends" as found here...
http://easycgi.com/web_hosting.html
here is the direct link...
http://www.webtrends.com/Products/WebTrends7.aspx?promo=TC_silop1_BD&WT.svl=TC_prodwt7_homec1
software looks pretty good at first glance...
take that back, Q might be using easycgi.com .. although Q's IP is on Savvy's network....
easycgi could just be reselling space for savvy
Q uses http://savvy.net/ .. although we are not sure if they are on a shared package or have their own dedicated server / colocation....
i notice you like to play this game when you have nothing else constructive to say. perhaps you have some other motive in mind for your recent posts?
at any rate let's keep it to Q....
i take it you are assuming i am correct since you have nothing else but attacks to say?
thanks... next time do some skilled research before you post..
exactly junk.
"and does not require a visable counter. It does not show up in source code."
already established that
you are assuming once again. ever hear of in-house programmers? they can custom make their own software and tailor it to how they want it.
if you don't know what you're talking about, end the discussion.
"You don't have to go through the logs. It posts a summary. It shows daily weekly monthly and yearly totals."
do you know something we don't or are you assuming what their web stats software shows?
lol, think i know a little bit more than you :) lets try to keep the discussion to Q however, you can PM me if you want to argue.
any website can do that, not just "business". and businesses can use the old hit counter on the website as well and not do it server-side... all depends how they are hosted...
yes or no.. dont beat around the bush
source code won't always show you a counter exists if it's server-side....
blind leading the blind
yeah, most run something like Aw-stats which is server side and parses Apache log files to get their data...
only the free/crappy ones are embedded into the webpage usually
completely false, they have no way of finding out how many people are requesting QTV via hits to their website.
LOL, like usual :)
they said 1.5 million hits, not 1.5 million people that have requested q television via their form. im sure if they got 1.5 million people that filled the form, they would say that instead. not the case.
but they don't.. 1.5 million hits
if i sit there like some others who are here 24/7 and refresh the page 50,000 times a day, does that mean there's 50,000 portential interested customers? nope.
he needs to show the unique visitors.
but can you find out how many are "requesting q television"? that's IMPOSSIBLE for them to do.
maybe this was all a lie?
and they know that HOW?
THIS PR IS BS. There is a big difference between HITS and UNIQUE VISITORS. If I goto the website and refresh 10,000 times, that would be 10,000 hits but only ONE unique visitor. Clever wording by Frank on this PR to confuse the blind and make it seem as if this is big.
thanks for the wonderful surveys, bring on #3
thanks bigtips!
please stop cluttering the board with your arguing. this board is for Q dd only, none of your personal agendas. please take it to PM next time you feel the need to say something... so lobogotti doesnt need to do as much work cleaning up the crap... thanks.
thanks for the surveys! keep them up, and remember dont worry if some people cry about them, they just want the attention =) look foward to the next one!
lol.. way to twist things
good point.
