Keep those expectations low..
at or around zero, and you can't be disappointed. I bet he'll talk about the ISO and the aftermarket which ( I tend to agree with Sulax on this point) will count as commercialization, but I don't think will do anything to spark demand for the stock. Oh man do I hope I'm wrong....
I only recall them saying..
Ford was anxious to get their hands on a front wheel
drive diff to test..As far as I recall that isn't even in a prototype stage as of this point..
It IS encouraging ...
that the guy overseeing the testing of the pump likes
it enough to become involved in the commercialization of it. I'm just at the point where I want to see volume and share price appreciation follow suit..seems like nothing short of a partnership or sale of something is going to move the price of this stock... Hell, I was ready ten years ago..!
Quite frankly..losing money becomes incredibly trivial when compared to the loss of so many innocent lives in Ct this Friday..scary times we live in..
The upside if the Mayans are accurate...
I only have 5 more days to endure being a TOVC shareholder....
See ya on the other side ??? If not Merry Christmas..
I hope you have a Merry Christmas,
but if you do- it won't have anything to do with Torvec
if history holds...My expectations have been reduced to zero..took 12 1/2 years to get here, but here I sit.
< if you are still here, you are made of stern stuff.>
don't dismiss the possibility of mental illness...
Just wondering if TOVC
will ever surprise us to the upside..Even the most fervent supporters have to admit the pace of progress is maddening?
I know DK said the company is really "only two years old"
in his way of thinking..( reflecting his tenure I guess)..Me, I feel like I hitched a ride on an iceberg back in 2000...It's slow moving, cold and the view never seems to change....discouraged...always in the test kitchen-never on the table..
Thanks for that..
even if it is just whispers and or 'scuttlebutt'..We used to get a lot more of that under the old regime, but unfortunately 99% of it wasn't quite truthful?? e.g. five years after we were no longer "a development stage company"- guess what? we're still a development stage company..I know I know..old news let it go etc.Zendo was right all along this stuff needed to be vetted, tested, verified, whatever you want to call it..Now it is..We were nowhere near where we were told we were- I'm not angry about it ..it's more like "c'mon- we've been here 12+ years- some of us..Do you think we're not paying attention..."??? C'mon Dick- get something out of the kitchen and on the table-it's time to eat.... don;t get me wrong He bears none of the responsibility, and I'm grateful that he took on this assignment, cause as most of us lived through- we were going nowhere..
I made my initial investment in 2000..
whether I'm in a "hurry" is pretty much irrelevent by now
isn't it??.only thing I can control is whether I'm in or not, oh an I guess whether I follow the board..I'll still follow but have run out things to say..but you all figured that out about 2007 I'd bet..???
What I recall from the Meeting..
was basically this..the rest of '12 is further
development/ refinement, 2013 they try to make inroads in the aftermarket with the Isotorque and start marketing the pump to Caterpiller/Deere and other OEM's and they think they will be rolling with meaningful volume sometime mid to late 2014...So based on this I don't expect the stock to do much of anything for 2 years...I'm going to try and take a page from Dread, Torvecian, Zendo and the silent guy in the ATL and go off the grid...Seriously what else is there to talk about after all this time that we haven't beaten to DEATH ??? I don't invest to try and show that I'm smart, or right, or any such thing..I want to make money for my sons..
Hey I love the positive outlook...
I just hope your idea of "near future" doesn't jibe with Torvec's historical record of "near future" accomplishments/projections..That list is incredibly long..I did get a sense from the new CTO that he has a road map and knows where he going...also not afraid to stop and ask for directions...!!!
Yes but a lot of those onbjectives..
were product refinement/development in nature..i.e not commercializing evnets..I think it is just as likely that the stock will do absolutely nothing for the next 12-18 months..I was hoping to hear something contrary to that at the Annual..but I didn't which is, I think is a bit of a bummer..
Jd
agree 100 %
as well as the prior BOD who let those mis-representions on the true state of the company be floated time and time again....but oh well..fool me once ...
It was a good meeting..
but in keeping with past years always..almost there almost there...Two biggest observations..
1) Kaplan I guess discounting any concern for share price..thinking that will all take care of itself should they execute the plan ( I guess it would after all- I just would have so much more fun idling at $4 a share before the ship lands)
2) how impressed I was with the no nonsense demeanor of the new CTO..anybody else wish he had been with us the last five years.Smart.Focused. No Bull shit.
Nice mode of transportation...
My favorite TG story is his Father's mistreatment by a superior motivated him to create something so he'd never have to have a boss...The ultimate Horatio Alger..Whether he shows or not (which I agree is not likely) I hope he's actively involved in this investment...He's not here to make $3 a share IMHO)..
MM's can make this do
anything they want in our current state..It's like a parlor game..
we sell something to somebody well that is likely to shake things up..Think that happens this year??.pretty much been assured it will..what do you think...? I want to hear about Hyundai, The Mining Car market, basically if they'd clean up some or all of the old trial balloons that were launched at earlier Meetings-just on the Iso Torque and the Pump as in fairness to them they said that is all they were gonna concentrate on...cause there are atleast 20-25 other past projects involving other potential partners with the other products ( one example was a Ca. based bus company that couldn't wait to install the CV joint...that was 4-5 years ago...) yeh I want to get excited and emotionally invested on this again..but this is a bit like being a Bills Fan..all you get is a broken heart..
Hey Faith Keeper...
naah..back in the JG years- once in a while this would trade 200-300k shares in a day after a prognostication, wink or a smile... it would jump a point or two in a single day too...but then it would die down just as quick....I guess I'll go this year to the Annual, but man I want to hear something good, something real..I can't remember the exact origin of the word "patience" but I recall there is a correlation to the word "suffering"....I think it is appropriate with this one- others no doubt will call it whining... I just can't throw a party cause the company has managed to survive all these years..didn't invest a good chunk for that outcome. We'll see..as you know all too well, the future never seems to come with this one...ask Dread.
Well said..
after 14 years if that is representative of our marketing efforts- I share the sad face..still trying to open this Treasure chest Vernon left with a tooth brush ??? somebody find em an axe already!!
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith..
just ponied up 1.1 Mill for this rocket ship..a quote or two from
TOVC BOD member Heinricy...

Thanks for the links..
One question I've asked more than once here is what is the size of the aftermarket for differentials on these two models..Let's say Torvec's penetration here is even better than hoped...? What are we talking about volume wise....? 5M ? 50M? 100M ? Any activity comercializing a Torvec product is a welcome start..But, I just am curious how good of a start?? have the same question as it relates to the mining cars ? appreciate any input...
gottcha..Thanks.
guess we'll see..That would have to have an impact on stock..as people would have to extrapolate just exactly a 1.2? 1.3 M? outlay in payroll would be going to support?? wouldn't they??? you don't do that to get revenue but you do if you have revenue/projects coming that have to be supported.....?? You're the numbers guy- am I on target assuming this would start some demand..Thanks in advance.
If true that would see the light of day
pretty quick. A manufacturing company in Upstate New York
adding engineering staff??? Schumer, Louise and Co. would be diving in front of a microphone to take some
credit for that..I guess We'll see..The people I know
who are inside and working (as opposed to us who are
outside and hoping) have seemed exceptionally content
as of late....How giddy would I be if TOVC for once
missed a stated timeline on the early side ? Keep em
coming Sulax even if street whispers- they improve
my disposition.
Leitrim- the Weary Traveler.
Thanks for the post...
Racetrack tout..Yeh that sounded more like Jim..."and down the stretch they come" !!! I guess carnival barker was me- come to think of it !!
If we're still fool hardy investors, atleast we're keeping company with Tom Golisano. He's spent a lot more time in the penthouse than in any outhouse. There is some comfort there.
< still a long way...
from seeing any significant increase in the value of our common stock>
Sadly I think I'd have to agree..atleast with Kaplan, the Plan isn't a moving target like in past years. However I don't think we were nearly ready to commercialize a single product when we we're led to believe- like what 4-5 years ago ? Water under the bridge. Don't forget the guy at Brighton Securities who likened the prior CEO to a "carnival barker"...
I would like to think
after all these years if they had anything material to talk about they wouldn't hold off to an Annual Meeting just to get public
accolades...but you never know...He has to follow up sometime soon on the Pump Test and If anything is going on with the iso torque with Hyundai, The Mining company and China....or I suppose he could follow past tradition and mention something real positive and promising and then never mention it again or call the potential customer dumb...
Son of Landlord. End of Story.
Follow Up thought on the FTV..
Does anybody else feel this vehicle/technology is a great fit
for CAT. They would have everything in place to "productize" (love that word). Do you think they even know about it's existence ? That company is killing it and have everything (Manufacturing, Marketing,Sales, International Distribution.) necessary to make something happen...Dick, give them a holler ? Have 'em in for coffee. Let's get one of those "9 pregnant ladies" into labor
While we pass the time..how about a little audience participation...What would you like to see addressed at the Annual Meeting ( pretend we can suspend NDA's for a night)Here are a couple Q&A that would help shed some light..
1) Test Results on the Hydraulic Pump? How did it Go- Who is chomping at the bit to buy them? Are we gonna make them , license or sell the technology ??
2)The Iso Torque? state of the state..Mining car market? anything going on in China despite their cooling off? Hyundai? Ford? GM? when it there gonna be a spark..If the Aftermarket thing goes even better than expected?? What type of revenue are we really talking there??
3)With Diesel fuel approaching five bucks a gallon?? Does the phone ever ring about the IVT and the previous stated 20% improvement in Class 3 delivery trucks' fuel economy?? Anybody know what UPS, Fed Ex spends per annum on fuel?? Has to be a ridiculous number?? 20 % of a ridiculous number is still, well ridiculous?? Perhaps Mcvea can shed light on prior test results??legit?? If so this boggles the mind- something is not kosher and shareholders haven't been adequately updated as to pitfalls or shortcomings with this particular technology?? What is it was it too noisy- not compatable as is???
4) That Truck we built on tracks awhile back..What the heck is the Air Force doing with it..??Did they ever mention wanting another one???
That's enough for now..Would like to read others...
Regards,
Leitrim
P.S. UPS Fuel costs exceeded 3 Billion in 2007 dollars..cost escalation alone probably makes that 5 Billion ??
I hope Dr. McVea is talking a lot...
to anyone who will listen and consequently people will want to buy this stock again..cuz this is stuck in the mud.....
Happy Easter.
may the share price experience some sort of ressurection this year..( yeh I'm tired of next years'..can ya tell...???
<good things will happen in the relatively near future.>
Pat, from your lips to God's ears friend..The terms, "near future", "overwhelming industry interest", and "our bright future" have been so bandied about that last 12 years (Yeh been here that long) as to completely have little or no effect any more. I expect little or nothing concrete prior to or at the Annual Meeting and will be so happy to be blindsided into bliss.....shaky Faith? perhaps.. experience- both good and bad is a great teacher.
Kinda agree Sulax..
a little more about what he's doing, a little less about what he's done..I know where to go to buy a remnant..I want to know will somebody buy the world's best differential..?? If so when ?? If not- why not??
D.K been quiet thus far in 2012.
Hope that is a good thing. He is on record as being a "24-7 guy" (always jealous of those types who require no sleep) so he must be
exceptionally busy. Sarcasm aside, I'm in Sulax's camp he doesn't have to say anything prior to the Annual meeting provided he gives us a realistic view of our prospects at that time as opposed to the prior regime's grandiousity. Although Nine pregnant women can't have a baby in one month..[/i]atleast one of the nine pregnant woman can have atleast ONE baby in 14 years...???can I get an Amen ???
O.K I'll bite..
anybody taking the tour across the street on wed.?
What's that all about...?
My main gripe with the COB..
pretty much my only gripe, is he that sat silently while the prior CEO told shareholders so many folk tales and the repeated mantra that we were "no longer were a development stage company" when 4 years later it is increasingly apparent that that is all we are..That nothing is ready for production.Just testing and refinement...
Other than that he passes out flowers once a year. How does one screw that up??.not likely that Phil Saunders,Tom G., Ron Zarella & Co. are following his lead in this project?? just opinion..
Well DK has to say something sometime...
In the interim this will sit still like a dead fish- short/ long:
won't matter either way. Not to be redundant- but then again I usually am, but ole BTG saw something on paper that he liked enough to part with 6 Million bucks. There is comfort biding time with him as a partner- atleast for me..
Yeh he does..
Let's hope He's Roc's next Golisano...
That is similar to an experience
I have each week on Sunday when I see Corp. Counsel in church.
Always greeted with a broad smile and a warm handshake(He knows I am a long-at times- suffering shareholder). He never gives any details or specifics just that things are 'moving along nicely' etc. But that smile tells me one of two things: either he has a much deeper walk with the Lord than do I, or that he knows how this endeavor may/will ultimately play out. Of the former I have little doubt he's a good man- the latter, well that is the frustrating part- I wish I knew what he did. That's where faith comes in. It's "like the morning bird that sings when the dawn is still dark.." yeh check out Leitrim getting all poetic on ya..It's an Irish thing.
UTY : I really hope you are
"in the know" -It may, I think, be much more valuable than back in the day. I guess we'll see. As far as the past is the past, I too want to get, and get to, optimistic pretty quickly. If the company is now operating from a "say what you mean and mean what you say" framework- that is all you can hope for. My late Father and I came around here in 2000- with the wink and pats on the back that this company was very close "to changing the world." He was a wise man and bailed at $8 a share, but I know he'd be tickled for me if this ever played out like advertized..Keep the good vibes coming I appreciate them.
