YUP, but look at what Hector did; by one account, he put over $1,000,000 of his own new money into AMD shares while only selling enough shares to cover the taxes on the transaction. The only significant insider seller of note lately is Rob (what the hell is marketing) Herb...and he is gone.
I think that you misunderstand. Rivet actually increased his physical holdings of AMD shares and most of the proceeds from the sale went towards that increase in share holdings. Actually it is quite bullish as such transactions go. Not nearly as bullish as what Morty and Hector have done lately ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=AMD ), but, HEY, they seem to be crazy. I would be buying on this sort of news :)
sorry, I did not; I did find the event amusing.
hmmm Intel but not as chipzilla

given a million ANALysts typing furiously away at a million word processors for an infinite amount of time....
more entertainment: DUH TRAIN IS LEAVING DUH STATION, KEITH
Keith you, of all people should know this by now, ANALysts' calls on AMD are more random events than sensible, thought out, logically derrived conclusions.
IBM can almost always add 2 plus 2; it just usually gets 3 or 5; almost nev3r 4 :)
try to smell the roses, not the fertilizer
do not obsess over the mujch smaller details...look at the greater and much grander picture....
you back in yet ?
Does this mean no itanic based T&L anytime soon ? AWH GEE !
Two things that ARE happening are obvious. Windows XP 64 is very close and HP is starting to fill a lot of Opteron sockets in numbers that have not occurred until now. Neither of these effects, I believe, are in the projections of either Hector or "OI VEY".
My thought exactly; "SMART MONEY" never chases a stock. It may nudge it to stimulate interest and then wait for selling to materialize. At least for a short while, some one out there with money, is acting like he knows something.
These kinds of wins are getting to be a non event....which if you give it some thought....is a very interesting event in itself.
No telling when Jerry will sell; but his selling will not be a legitimate sell signal. I suspect that Hector is in AMD shares for at least a few years and Morty probably plans for his heirs to have to deal with any long term tax issues. I take these recent purchases to be one hell of a BUY (for the long term and not for trade timing) signal...or could you not tell ?
Who knows...maybe some of those shares you sold went to Morty.
I hope, for your sake, it is not too later (gater) dude.
NOTHER HINT: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=INTC Look at what paul, craig and that crowd have been doing.
SAME BOAT AS HECTOR, MORTY, and JERRY ?
Seriously...Hector and Morty probably bought too soon. But, Jerry has never in the past shown hesitation when he thought that the upside/downside potential favored the downside
HINT: HE HAS NOT BEEN SELLING :)
Well...I almost bought some more (I own far too much already, so I did not) Jerry is hanging on, Morty is buying, and gullible Hector is buying...BIG TIME...and you are selling...I like my company better.
you should read my post more carefully...for tone.
I´d buy millions of shares if someone offered them to me for $7.
as you did not and you would not. You would probably post endless negative views on why it will go down a lot more.
ODD...inSOMNoMIA...intel's latest penneyarinio platform, seems to have poorer battery life than its predatorydessor in a trade off for improved performance. Why would intel do that? Could it be that intel knows something about how tough a competitive entry (cen}TURION is likely to be that you may not know :)
You are probably completely correct Keith; Hector has probably adopted Jerry's old methods of showing all of his cards and intel now caught up and is now racing far ahead. Fred and Dirk are still down in the Bahamas "on holiday" until AMD is so hopelessly behind that a decline in the share price to single digits will only be a further opportunity to get out just before all is completely lost.
WOE IS US :( WHOA IS US :(
(edit) re: ...AMDs answer to that seems to be more price cuts.
YUP, I think that you must be correct...must be why Jerry is still hanging onto those extra 300,000 shares that he picked up a little over 2 years ago; must be why Morton, former dull Board (or is it BORED?) Vice Chairman, just committed over $400,000 of his own "new money" to his initial AMD stock position; must be why Hector just effectively committed well over $700,000 of his own "new money" (when you allow for the taxes he had to pay on profits from sales of a lesser number of shares sold to raise some of the money to buy the shares) to his recent AMD shares purchases.
I have to admit that Hector's and Jerry's records are pretty damned abysmal. A little over two years ago when they made their respective purchases near $7/share, the stock declined approximately 20%...GOOOOLLLLLYY...WHAT A COUPLA EASILY DUPED IDIOTS !!!!
Of course, things did get better after that two year ago decline...musta been pure KOWINKEEDINK :)
DYA suppose that Morty and Hector might just see some good things that are not in your view...NAW !!!!
As the Donald and Citigroup would say....
dull will use Opterons before that happens.
AMD dual core gets major Linux World showing; Multitude of systems showed

...thin and light notebooks when AMD releases its Turion 64 mobile tech. Design wins for the ATI chipset include HP, Sharp, Medion, Acer, Targa, Gateway, NEC, Mitac, Arima, MSI, Compal, Quanta and Wistron. The last three make notebooks for a whole heap of brands....

THEOREM: Insiders tend to buy and sell shares in a company for reasons that are far too numerous to list here; but not very high on the list of reasons to buy such shares ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=AMD ) is the expectation that such shares will go down significantly anytime soon as well as not very high on the list of reasons for selling such shares ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=INTC ) is the expectation that the shares will go up a great deal any time soon :)
The salient point is that there is never any real pressure on a cn a CPU user to not employ intel chips while, at times, there is tremendous pressure on some of them to not use AMD CPU's. The rest of the argument is obvious.
another view is that in this environment being "CHIPNOSTIC" is actually being pro AMD, very pro AMD :)
I think that the most likely way for this to happen is for Wayne to buy or merge with a spun off HP PC division.
Truly, best of all, a perfect world Pangloss, thank you for your candide response
Please make sure that the PHUD @ SI AMD does not find out. He is sure to report it and we will all be DOOMED...DOOMED...DOMMED...I SAY DOOMED !!!!
