yofal, huh??????????????
It is not a spoof.
Our senator, Ron Wyden, was on CNBC this morning talking about plans to put a stop to it. Anyone who has followed Poindexter's career can hardly be surprised.

She is ok with it.
Planning on doing a program in landscape design. Still likes playing in the dirt after all these years.
I'm not too excited about politics
yet. A good friend has become a big Kucinich supporter, but he does not move me. Other friends really like dubya, but......
I am agnostic for now. I want a different president, a non-Republican one. Other than that, I don't care who it is :).
I also wanna make money. Kathy got her lay-off notice today.
Ron
Best Buy
Hopefully, a good strategy to move eMacs and iMacs, with the focus on the eMac.
The music pie
Thanks langostino. Increases in outside the box revenues and earnings are important for AAPL. I remember conversations on AAPLtalk back in the internet bubble days, folks wishing Apple got into an internet business to get some of those huge gains.
I am still hopeful for a dip sometime this summer. I would like to be in AAPL again for a relatively long term investment, but I don't want to buy in at this level. I also would like to add to my position in PAYX because it is a company that should benefit from enviroment of rising interest rates and increasing employment.
My investment roadmap for the next year or two is starting to take shape, and AAPL is part of it. Need to start learning more about China/Asia ex. Japan and need to start watching Japan more closely.
So much to learn, so little time to learn it in :).

They may actually be cheap :). Silver is up significantly again this morning, with the bid @ 5.22, up close to 3%. One silver mining stock I hold was up over 20% last week. Gold is continuing its move up this morning, and I would not have been surprised with a dip on the news that the South African miner's negotiations were concluded yesterday without a strike.
They may be risky, but whether or not they are pricey now wil be determined over the next few months to a year. I got in with a gold shares mutual fund over a year ago. It has been down as much as 20%, and is no up around 10%. After watching and learning some about the business and individual companies, I took the plunge into some individual stocks.
My primary reason for getting into this sector was post 9-11 defensiveness. I am staying in for now. We'll see how it goes.
Ron
dilleet. congratulations and compliments
are part of getting along, aren't they?
Ron

You've done pretty well here in terms of your on-line behavior. I sense that is, perhaps, coming to an end. In the meantime, congratulations on the constraint you have displayed. I am sure it has been a good exercise in personal discipline for you. Some wise people say that is a good spiritual exercise.
Ron
lkj, admitting an error on my part.
Your note was imcomplete, leaving out the given reason for leaving. I am glad that was recovered, rather than to have other implications.
Ron
Has anyone seen this error message from a message board before:
Server Application Error
The server has reached the maximum recovery limit for the application during the processing of your request. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.
Wasn't iHub, just have never seen it before.
Ron
Welcome back Bill,
good to see you posting here again.
Hope you keep it up.
Ron
I used a "search on this board" tool at the Apple Computer Board home page and did not find that post.
Ron
LJK, provide a link for your assertion
JimisJim made a public post in which he said he was leaving iHub; he didn't say he was going on vacation.
I read his last posts here and there was nothing indicating that he was leaving iHub. Put up or........

Revenues for NAS 100 only grew 2% when adjusting for currency conversions

Where's the Beef?
I just took a look at multiple free
Apple and AAPL boards. Based on the last week of activity there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that iHub is the best of the lot. My examination did not include the paid Apple/AAPL boards, which are a different matter, I suppose.
Keep up the good work!! Have great weekends!!
Thanks to those who initiated the move to iHub

And it is a lovely chart :).

I know exactly where it is,
at Avenida Ana Costa and the beach. We lived farther north, just south of the Ponta da Praia disctrict for 2 1/2 years, and then south of there, near where the town of Sao Vicente began.
If you go to the Orquedario, you will be one block from where I went to school for two years. The first time I summoned enough courage to hold a girl's hand was in the Orquedario :)--and yes, it is an orchid park.

The week in review: trying to include a chart, we'll see if it works.

Santos
I lived there for 3 1/2 years as a teen-ager--many years ago.
Wonderful beaches, nice bay, good food, beautiful people.
If you are by there, I lived at on Rua Benjamem Constante, # 48--a couple of blocks behind the Basilica of Santo Antonio.
Santos is an island, with a bridge to the mainland. Ahhh...the memories.

Made a couple of moves this morning
My IRA is now 86% precious metal mining stocks, 10% PAYX and 4% cash. Metals are making a move. Will it last. For a few weeks, hopefully. Added trading shares in WHT this morning.
Chas, it is a question of timing
The market could still move up considerably. There was strong inflow into stock funds in June and there is still a ton of money out there in money market accounts. The durable goods orders were good today and I think any good news will be leapt on the same way bad news seems to have been discounted over the past couple of months.
To quote WmZ, I think "It Wants More" If it wants it badly enough, it will get it.
Good luck....and be careful out there.

More than ever
is it time to invest in diversified China or Asian fund(s)?
Cotton,
We both do plenty of cheap labor, but are not slaves to rigid gender roles. I am often cleaning house while Kathy devotes herself to her beloved plants and gardens :)
Ron
it's going to get pretty ugly over the next 50 years.
Well, then thank goodness I am 51 and work in higher education, though that sector has not been a bed of roses since the downturn. Give me another 7 years and I will be ready (financially) for the pasture....and if that is where they want me to go then, it will be all right.
Life is less expensive on the Yucatan Peninsula, where residential construction costs range from $20 and up and gardners can be had for a reasonable rate.
Ron
Quality of earnings is not good and that is why the current bubble will eventually burst.
Ron
A friend received an iSight for her birthday
We did video/audio chat. They could hear me and I could hear and see them. Wonder where the built in microphone is on my iLamp?
iSight in our near-term future
Ron
Did not notice bid on silver. Am noticing bids on my gold and silver mining stocks though :).
Apple, cash and dividend
Have you factored in the cost of the continuing build-out of Apple retail establishments?
OT: Holy cow boys and girls
Silver broke $5 for a bit this morning, and is up over 3%--a huge move this morning. Gold moving up strongly also.
Ron
Jobs moving
Community colleges hire faculty with technical skills who may not have the credentials most folks think are needed to teach. Think about it, those of who you have technical skills in a variety of areas. Pays more than minimum wage.
Ron
Cotton,
I was talking about buying the music assets of an entertainment company. Apple would go into the record company business :).....errr the music software business. That is one way to view it. Hardware-software integration, something Apple already does.
Could be a crazy thought :).
Ron
Apple needs to move along with winiTms
I agree. At the same time, it seems to me that the iTunes music store will have the best feature set, best consumer experience and competitive prices--and the iPod hook. There will be no subscription fees, no irregular storing, burning, sharing agreements etc...
I am a bit concerned about the length of Apple's agreements with the content providers. It could make some sense, down the road (and I thought I would never say this) for Apple to spend some of that money buying content. It is iffy, I know and I am not sure it would be a good idea, but it may merit consideration.
I think future services should be released for both platforms at the same time. I know many disagree and I know the arguments pro and con. Apple computer, the Mac platform and Apple shareholders will be best served, I believe, to release such services and future digital devices to both platformas at the same time.
It is not ideology, its business.
Ron
So dilleet, have you
used this product. Can you point us to any independent reviews of it?
Thanks
Ron
It is hard to beat a good
Churrasceria if one is a carnivore.
My brother really like Fogo do Chao in Atlanta. We have a pretty fair Brasilian restaurant here in Portland, good feijoada completo and churrasco.
