I just put CTUM on watch and waiting for volume to pick up some. Could move up through Sept as the anticipated review by FDA concludes by end of September. It's a BB stock and I like the fundamentals and the chart.
The Ukraine thing will probably keep me from marrying it though.
Ren
That's part of why I haven't bought back into SPZI yet, that lingering feeling that if you score a 300%+ gain, be cautious going back for more.
Of course, I'll go back for more. ;)
DID YOU BEAT ME TO IT? YOU'RE A RASCAL.
IT'S A STRANGE PICK. AS I HAVE NO MONEY ON THE LINE, I'D ACTUALLY LIKE TO SEE TN WIN. BUT I JUST DON'T THINK THEY CAN DO IT. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THIS WAS PHIL FULMER'S LAST YEAR AS HEAD COACH IN TN. THEY WILL LOSE ANOTHER 4-5 GAMES THIS YEAR AND THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN THE SEC UNLESS YOU ARE KENTUCKY, VANDERBILT, OLE MISS ETC.
I KNOW YOU ARE, IT JUST LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE A DECENT REPLACEMENT FOR LEONARD.
I DON'T FOLLOW THEM LIKE YOU BUT I WOULD THINK THEIR FIRST REAL TEST WOULD BE S. FLORIDA AS WELL.
Well I'll take Cal and the over on the 6.5 point spread, even though I'm an SEC nut and I'd like to see TN unbeaten when UF waxes them in the swamp Sept 15. Let's start with this pick and see if I have any smarts as you say.
I also like FL on the over at -32 but I don't think I'd bet it. WKY is almost a high school team compared to UF, but UF has some big question marks at QB and on D-fence.
Hi Mc Mogul.
You will find different opinions as to the volume.
Some will say it's because there is no retail interest in the stock right now and I would partly agree.
Some would say that the float is low and I would partly agree.
Either way, the company seems to want to be low key until the new Preferred Share conversion offer expires. After all, what would be their incentive to run the share price now if they are trying to get commoners to convert. It would certainly help if someone at HQ had the common sense to send out a divy check to those that have Preferreds. That would ultimately be the best motivation to get folks to take the conversion deal. But for now, I think we float around here until mid to late October. I guess I'm just trying to say that since pinky land is all about hype, no hype = no volume IMO.
Good luck. Have you decided to buy PBLS yet?
Ren
I do but only flag football.
In all seriousness, I play low limit card games with my friends but don't bet on football. My problem is I would bet on football in a heartbeat, but in a crazy way I have this feeling that if I gamble on my teams, the Almighty might smite them on the field. It's not a Biblical conviction...just redneck superstition...if you know what I mean.
Ren
Piece of cake? Maybe after the first quarter and a half. I know it was raining, but LSU better tighten up their offense. Otherwise a few big lizards are going to show up in Baton Rouge Oct. 6 and stop some...well you know what.
Percy Harvin will be a Heisman candidate next year if he stays healthy this year. Tim Tebow...well, the news out of Gainesville is good but we won't know until the gators take on TN at the Swamp on Sept 15. I see that the line on FL/WKY is between -32 to -35. With 9 "rookies" on D-fence, I don't know if I'd take the over on that even being a FL fan...
The game I like is TN/Cal. As much as I would like to see TN wax Cal, Cal is a powerhouse when it comes to scoring with QB Nate Longshore and WR Desean Jackson, TN just doesn't have the firepower to keep up with Robert Meachem gone and Erik Ainge a little banged up. Plus, TN put it to them last year bad. I don't see Cal letting that happen. At Cal -6.5, I'd take the over. Even if it's close...it will be a high scoring, win by at least 10 either way kind of game.
Just an opinion of course...
Ren
"OFFENSE MAY NEED TIME TO ADJUST WITHOUT LEONARD"
SURE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT. RAY RICE LOOKS TO BE A HOSS.
(FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT FROM THE SOUTH, THAT MEANS 'HORSE.')
REN
Have to agree on that one.
Except that the recent volume doesn't support the fact that the sold these latest increases in the O/S on the open market.
OT - Vista
Thank you. Attack the stock. Attack the company in general. Don't attack or slander or put down another poster.
To reiterate to the board...
Be negative or positive if you want on the stock or the company in general.
Don't attack specific people with your posts.
Ren
Sometimes country dumb pays off...but I sure hope we don't see sub-penny any time 'soon.'
Yep. Sure would.
Right now I am thankful for two things with my PBLS investment:
1) That I was dumb enough to average down at $.006
2) That all of my shares except my $.006s are in LT capital gains status
"Keep us in the loop." I think that's what we all want. That and to be at least above water in our investment here.
Ren
Boooo!
I don't know about you, but I'm at the top of the org chart. I can sleep easy at night just knowing that little bit of information.
Yep. It was a TX paper if I remember correctly but it had more to do with their expansion than it had to do with the PBLS buy-out.
OT: What a minute...can't resist...urge..to..break into... song...
Yes, I don't mind if they uncover a scam...just as long as they let me know first! ;) I just don't want to see a reporter try to make a story out of nothing as some do all the time. That would be my only concern.
Yep. Or the increase came as the result of an acquisiton.
Yes. I guess that's the gamble of this stock, huh?
Why does there always have to be a gamble...
I would amend that to say that "all bubbles have a trail of tears in the short term." That's probably the major difference between the way you invest and the way I invest. Buy and hold is a viable strategy as long as you a) buy right b) buy right and c) buy right. Did I say buy right?
You and I know that you make your profits when you buy, which is why you look for sharp down moves. It's about the only "safe" way to buy in the pinks and even then you can get a fake out. I buy real estate at $.65 on the $1 no matter what the market conditions are and I preserve my capital to fight another day regardless. When you buy right you have increased your margin for error. IMO the current RE market is cleansing itself of "investors" who didn't have the first clue about buying right. Hopefully for all the lesson will not be too hard...
Ren
LOL!
The only thing I don't like about any board is when I see someone without the will power to not risk/invest more than they can afford to lose. It's human nature. It's stupidity. It still happens all the time. That's the sad "after effect" of market psychosis. Some posters should be taking their money and paying off Mr. Visa instead of risking it in the pinks, especially as most don't take the time to educate themselves in what they are really doing.
Ren
My understanding is that the company has several suitors wanting to invest to be able to bring ARGY into production mode. I believe that's what is with the $7.5M.
What is strange to me is that if these patents are so viable, why hasn't a larger fish simply come and gobbled up ARGY for the patents alone? I mean right now there is probably 140M shares outstanding or so...that puts the market cap at approx $6.3M. Even if they did a buy out at $.25 per share, that's chump change if the technology is feasible...
BTW what exactly is the significance of the "E" that has been added to the ticker? My Scottrade watch list shows the current price of ARGY at $0.00.
Ren
PS I haven't bought into ARGY yet. Been waiting for that other stock to do something, anything so I could at least sell some more of my .006s.
Everyone has the right to their own strategy Coy.
I couldn't say. I know that some posters believe that the market has simply lost interest and some believe that the float is very low. I lean more towards the former than the later. As far as the partners buying on the open market, I don't know when or where. I don't like calling the company anymore. Frankly, I am also tired or turning over rocks. So I feel like the best way I can serve my investment now is by doing my best to maintain the peace here on the board.
Ren
It was me that deleted it and though I follow ARGY I don't find it relevant here. You know I'm not trying to cover anything up either. Please take it to the ARGY board which is why that board exist.
Ren
Just an opinion...
I doubt you will get "truth" from a newspaper reporter. You and I both know that most are just looking to spin a "juicy" story. What they will probably discover is that this pink sheet stock has made some wild claims in the past 2 years that have yet to been followed through with. They will spin the story and call it a scam and call for an SEC investigation to help save the poor innocent masses that "invested here." All of that might be true...however, if they were simply looking for a "juicy" story, they would disregard any good things the company has done over the last two years as well. They would focus on the disappointments like most of the posters on this board instead of being objective with what this is: a pink-sheet stock with tons of risk, skeletons, baggage, and oh, yeah, a ton of potential if the story is true.
I've noticed other posters say they have sold and moved on and I don't blame them at all. I wish some others would as well frankly as it gets very tiring reading the same spew everyday. The ones that sold are not getting the return they want on their money now, but at least they were "man" enough to take their losses and move on. Others that constantly gripe...well I don't know why they do it, and no I don't think they are "bashers." As for me...I'm just dumb enough to wait for "soon" because I obviously drink the Kool-aid. But again, I'm not a professional trader. I don't need to "live to trade another day." I have a real job and can keep it if need be, though I'd just as soon be sipping cold drinks in the islands...
Ren
That's part of my question.
1) What is the complete capital structure of Phoenix?
My second question is more of a summation:
2) When do they anticipate this to happen? "Phoenix Associates Land Syndicate (Phoenix) (Other OTC: PBLS) today announced that the Company, under the guidance of its SEC counsel, James E. Pratt, is in the process of completing its financial disclosure information for filing with Pink Sheets to insure that its shareholders and the investing public are provided with adequate current information. The Company expects to have this package of full financial disclosure information posted on the Pink Sheets website on or before June 15, 2007."
Pink Sheets has recently significantly expanded the information it requires under the category of “Adequate Current Information” from its listed companies. The goal of Pink Sheets is to provide shareholders and the investing public with a clear and complete understanding of the nature and operations of the Company’s business. Including the products, services, assets, properties and facilities it owns and/or utilizes and its prospects for the future. Balance sheets and profit and loss statements are also required."
http://www.pbls.biz/pressrelease_content.asp?prid=107
As of right now they are only 2 months and 2 weeks behind on the 2nd question which is pretty good for Phoenix. I just hope 2 months and 2 weeks doesn't turn into "soon" if you know what I mean. They are 90% of the way there now...10% to go and the yield sign goes away...
Ren
PS Thanks for spearheading this with MC...
Crad...
We never could confirm where it it except that it is "right across the border on the MS side."
I personally don't believe that the acquisition happened and I don't have a reason why, just an opinion.
Ren
Why don't you answer him/her viki?
If I was going to answer him I would tell him that it's not up. It was a pretty dumb idea to put a pit cam up at the pit to begin with IMO.
Ren
Still alive...just working too hard and was sick last week. Now trying to play catch up...
Hey Viki,
Please post what the TA told you today. I'd appreciate it as I haven't called.
Ren
FYI I haven't been posting much b/c a) not much to say and b) work is actually crazy right now...
Bhopal is a nasty place. It was nasty before the Union Carbide accident. Central India in May/June has got to be one of the hottest places in the world...
They are based out of Charlotte right? I know they are huge...they definitely are a billion dollar company...
Actually Cherokee Environmental works to take brown fields like a used up gravel pit and turns them into residential or commercial development properties. This would be an option if we ever were able to buy the Murphy pit for Mitchell & Furr...
Nope. Just a few of us killing time making some readers mad with all our "OT" stuff.
Check out Oldteck's & TTR's posts for some DD. Shelby was told by IR yesterday that divy checks are in the mail. Don't know if you caught my post on the increase in O/S to 2.168B. Castle still has funny pictures so feel free to check Pnew's website for the pic...a little too racey for the iHub board...
Ren
Probably Ron. I don't call anymore but I get PM's from other posters. As its a PM, that would be a TOS to share (sorry to hide behind rules). Most info from the company originates in Ron B in my experience.
That's my understanding as well. We'll see if the rumor proves true...
