I appreciate the many great posts here from the fine and learned people on this board and am learning a lot. Although I have no oil or energy background, I read a lot and hold stock here and in CWPC. My one observation from even the best of posters here is that I believe they are unrealistic about how low the price of a barrell will go.
OPEC has said that they feel that $60 is a fair price for oil at the present and plan to keep it at least that level. The President of Venezuela has said that he plans to tax foreign drillers in his country to keep all exports in line with OPEC. The new oil sands of Canada need oil above $50 to be profitable in the long run with costs of recovery in the $25 to $30 range. The middle east is totally uncertain in their supplies. The Chinese and the Indians are trying to compete for oil versus the USA. Long time oil experts, i.e. Boone OPickens, have publicly stated that we will never see $50 oil again.
With the costs of new discoveries like we have with ERHE increasing at a rapid pace, it is unrealistic to assume oil will ever go to the lows I hear mentioned by Meridian and others. I just hope that oil stays below $75 so that our economy has time to find other energy sources. I don't want ERHE and CWPC to be the only stocks I own that have any value! LOL
I am not an expert but can someone show me a scenario where oil can get below $50 again. It is NOT a free and open market but a controlled one. I can't see it. GLTA
Alwright, I think that CVX will always be conservative in their estimates of future reserves as company policy. They do not wish to have their own stockholders be victims of unfulfilled expectations, especially the institutional ones. I don't think they could care less about us unless it is to eat our lunch at some future date. Just my best guess. LOL
wzebra33, That is a big wow! Please take the time to post this information in an essay fashion wherever you think it may help. I am afraid that this last little post you did may not be noticed by many. Thank you for your work on this!
indido-alien, because it's fun and we all secretly hope he has insider kowledge. LOL I don't think we can do time, ala Marthe Stewart, because we solved a riddle on line.
Does anyone with experience in these matters know if there will be an announcement that this stock is now able to be traded again and that they are now in conformance? I also feel that the CEO has a moral obligation to post a message about all of this suspension business. If he doesn't, I think we have our message.
gdepc, thanks for the post. I am learning fast and it all sounds great, but the time required for the Company's products to be tested and get to market is a little discouraging to a newbie in this type of stock. Bio tech investments make oil stocks look like fast money. LOL
Calgarylady, how does one know if a stock has been sent to the grey market and can you trade in the grey market just as we have been trading in this market? TIA
Neo43, thanks for the reply but I now wish I hadn't asked the questions but rather have stayed in my ignorant and blissful state. LOL
Texguy, thanks for your reply. I guess I was kind of hoping that someone would step up and say something like "have patience bozo, you'll be rich by summer, forget the fluffy PR's". LOL
Paulness, thank you for your reply. Being patient here is difficult when you feel that you are into a big winner. I had a daydream that everybody (and domestic animal) in the world would be getting a flu shot this year and our "stuff" wouldn't be ready for market until next year. LOL Thanks again.
With all the very smart and hard working posters on this board there has been no good guess been made as to the time line to make this company a good investment. Trials, clinicals, patent applications, etc. I think it is important to the Company to hire somebody who is very good at communicating information to investors that do not have PHD's in medicine, biophysics ( if there is such a thing, just guessing) etc. so that that we can feel that we have made a reasonable investment in CYGX and can pass the word to others. I have a lot of respect for this board and ask that you please indulge me on my thoughts here. I will hang in for---- Bless
Hi Hetty green, any word on a time line for some good news, any good news? The USC stuff is good fluff but real weak PR. You are so very positive about this stock, which I am in as well, so can you cheer us up with news other than buying at the dips? Love the tech but have the blahs for the company news. Thanks for any help.
new83, I think that the name is powdermed, with a D.
JPGetty, is there any guess at a time line of getting the "patent pending" status and then the negotiations? TIA
nc4s, why do you make such a prediction? There are no signs on any tech boards calling for it. This company has horrible PR but has been holding firm. What is your rationale. TIA
Houndish, you are right about the quality of character on this board. Very good and very fair. I like to read it but post rarely as I do not have a PHD in the proper fields to respond to some of the posts. My eyes start to glass over reading some of the stuff posted by our smart guys. Glad they are here though as they have made me feel confident that we are not selling "snake oil". My only complaint about CYGX is that their PR's are so anemic, in my humble opinion, but maybe they are trying to enable the simplest of shareholders like myself to wade through the information. LOL I hope that they will hire some good pros to promote in the future. GLTY
Thanks Islandkim, now I wonder how long a process it is to get from a patent appl. to a patent pending status. I am sure it varies but the company's lawyers may have an idea. Why not try your winning ways with the boss on that issue?
Bigworld, a letter from the boss outlining a business plan with much clearer time lines than the company web site "hints" at would be a wonderful PR for the longs here. However, our brilliant doctors seem to lack marketing skills (and apparent accounting abilities)so we will have wait for them to hire some decent PR types (and an accountant).
I appreciate the more knowledgable posters like yourself but am looking forward to the day when the CYGX board spends, maybe, half its time talking about CYGX. Then we'll know we've arrived! With great respect for your input, Dave
I have become a laughing stock among my investor friends by buying this beauty. I have strong oil holdings that could benefit from this tech if it's not snake oil or a bankrupt bunch of dreamers. Any help here? thanks. I'm buying the drinks today.
upndwninout, I hope that you are right and I am wrong. Not bashing Meridian so much as saluting his skills. I was thinking that a couple of hundred posts in a weekend was excessive and indicative of an agenda. I hope it was the agenda you point out. Apologize if I offended. GLTY
Ezmoney, maybe the idiots that sucked up to Meridian all weekend will get out. This board was getting tough to read without feeling a little queezy! Gee, I wonder why Meridian posts so much? Duh, because it works. He is a skilled basher. LOL
New here but have done a lot of oil stock DD. I am in this stock because it is cheap and it is exactly the type of tech that the Canadian oil sands needs. Have been in CWPC for a while and have read and learned much, but what I can't get a grip on is why this tech that KSWJ has didn't come out of the huge R&D labs that are run by the big oil companies and the university dept.s that they sponsor. Any thoughts from the sharper minds out there? TIA
Tatonkano, thanks for all the info. Not sure I could pass a pop quiz on it all right now, but I'm learning fast. I hope we can get the commercial production on the fast track now!
Platina, thank you for your thoughtful reply. I was half posting in jest and citing Oliphant's riddle, but now I have learned something new. I believe what you showing here is an example of combining drilling efforts and restating ownership interests when resources are shown to overlap. Hope I got that right, I'm new to oil. Thanks
Question to knowledgable oil types.
How large an area around a drill rig can they pump oil? I am sure it depends on the nature of the materials that hold the oil, but is it possible for these powerful pumps to remove oil from many miles around the rig? Is it possible to have an oil reservoir shaped in such a way that you can pump oil out of one bloc (or plat) from a well on an adjacent bloc? Oliphants post about the Duchess and Alice got me musing about that. Hmmmmm
DSP, thank you for the reminder. I have been disappointed in the time lines of a few other of my investments and am getting more demanding of PR's. I can't help but think that if this company had the real "stuff" that they would be showing more news about strong inquieries. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again.
Hetty, I am new to this stock and this board. I like what I read about ARSC but I can't find out any time line for them to get to market. One month or one year? Thanks
