Totally understand, that happened to me on my honeymoon.
Hey, Bio, great detective work! The way I read the info - and I speak no Italian - is that it's a proposal to buy 50 cartridges on the 16th of March. And given the current exchange rate of 1.07 dollars per euro, that works out to about $48,000. Just my guess. Good Luck!
My concern is...no matter how good the news of the PR this week - and I'm fairly certain the news will be good, based on the "tone" of the email Canes shared - is that the good news might get swamped by the market panic.
If we release a great PR on a day when the Dow loses another 5%, that's a heck of a headwind.
Hope I'm wrong, but we might have to temper our short term expectations with the larger reality of investor fear. Kind of a double edge sword here, because this pandemic that could get us more exposure and possibly make the FDA more prone to give us some kind of tentative approval, that same pandemic has scared a lot of possible new investors.
Long term, though, 6 months out, I can see the exposure/success we get now could really pay off.
And lets keep Italy in our prayers, they are getting hammered.
Hemo speaks for me as well.
Good week coming, let's save some lives!
Good info, Hammy, thanks!
I think we're all a little worn out, or at least I am. Two weeks ago, with the first rumor our product being used in China, I was CERTAIN that the following week would see a huge pop in our SP. Instead, we went from the $6-$7 down to the $5's. And this last week, even after a nice PR update, we're 1 cent away from the $3's.
Totally deflating. Expectations were high, so that's what makes it tough. On the hopeful side, Canes16 (this board) posted an email response from Dr Chan that suggests they'll issue a PR with some meat on it next week.
So hold tight, I've been here over 10 years and have nothing to show for my investment. Guess I'm a lousy investor. Of course, that will all change if we hit $20 - $30 this year.
Big picture, pray for those who are sick, and also pray that doctors and hospitals become aware of our device. Because it does work, millions of dollars in reorders from Germany prove it. And like many others are doing, email or tweet to any decision maker you can.
Good Luck, Hammy!
For the life of me, Techxen, in this environment, I don't know how BARDA/FDA could say no to our filter. No adverse side effects and 80,000 success stories? We shut down the ENTIRE US economy to save lives...and BARD/FDA is not going to approve a product...that HAS and WILL save lives?
Not even a bureaucracy can drop a pop fly like that.
Right???
Three questions:
1. Does the HA380 cartridge infringe on any of CTSO's patents?
2. Even if it did, would filing a lawsuit against Jafron essentially close the door on the Chinese market, so CTSO would likely just turn a blind eye?
3. If the HA380 provides roughly the same benefits as our cartridge, why did China ask for 2 shipments of our cartridges? Were there just not enough HA380's to go around?
Finally, I'm surprised Dr Ronco replied to your email; good work! But his answer - "My intent is not commercial" - seems to fly in the face of working for/with Cytosorbents. Is he not getting paid by us? Just sounds like he's working with/for a competitor...but maybe in a pandemic like this, these kinds of considerations no longer apply.
I just think what we're seeing is across-the-board fear. Doesn't matter how great our product is at the moment, doesn't matter the potential and all the recent good news. When the Fed goes to 0% interest and use all their bullets, and the market is still going down by 10%, we could announce a cure for cancer and get a "meh" reaction re: share price.
The panic, like the virus, must burn itself out. Then the investment money will return. Hopefully sooner, if we get a jolt or two of great news.
My thoughts exactly, Techxen! FYI, I look forward to each of your posts, I think you should submit your resume to Dr Chan's PR team.
Have a great quarantine weekend!
Murph, I suspect they asked for more filters from the US and Germany because they don't have enough, and the ones they do have may not be as proven or efficacious as ours, or maybe both are possibilities.
When looking for the truth in a Communist nation, it's like looking through smoked glass.
Question, Techxen: you just mentioned the possible "commercial collaboration in China with China Medical Systems." However, assuming the filter you uncovered earlier (HA380 made by Chinese firm Jafron) can do everything ours can do, would the Chinese gov't even allow our filter to be sold in China? I know we sell other stuff to the Chinese that they make as well, but I wonder if the Chinese gov't might try and suprress our sales to maximize their home-grown filter. They might call the HA380 a "strategic" medical device or something.
In short, given the existence of HA380, and assuming it works as well as ours (maybe a big IF), how much do you think this will impact CTSO's potential China market?
Worst case, we have a competitor on our heels. However, if I heard President Trump and his people correctly, we do NOT want to put too much of our medical product pipeline in the hands of the Chinese. Therefore, and yes, this is a forward looking statement, but much of the US market would still potentially be ours.
1,000 more at $4.34! Too much good news, zero negatives, and once we save the world, let's save our 401k's.
I wonder how much sleep our CEO has gotten the last two weeks?
Great Job, Dr Chan!
Question: Does anyone know how Dr Chan got the interview today? I wonder if it had been scheduled for days/weeks, or if Fox Biz was just scrambling for a Corona-related guest.
It would be great if it was a pro-active move by our PR people, but even greater if someone OUTSIDE the company realized what a lifesaver our flter could be. Hope to see Dr Chan on lots more business shows!
Something's up when you're looking forward to a Monday.
GREAT JOB, you guys! I think we finally found our PR Dept!
General Consensus? Scale of 1 - 10, how would the board rate both the 4th quarter and how the rest of 2020 looks?
The obvious wild card seems to be what China hospitals/doctors report with their limited use of the filter, this seems like the best near-term accelerant to ignite the SP.
Anyone uniquely excited? Severely disappointed?
Thanks for the play-by-play, fantom! I just talked to CBS and they want you in the booth with Romo.
Just a Sunday thought - but in the spirit of Dwight aka Berthabluefish - regardless of our short/long take on CTSO, if we could "speak" to each other as civily as Bertha did, we would all have one less regret at the end of the day. Make something positive out of his passing, he might like that.
Sad news, I'll keep him in my prayers. I suspect he was a good and decent man, because he did take flak for his posts now and then, but I never recall him responding in kind. Does anyone knew if he suffered from a long illness, e.g., cancer? Don't reall him ever mentioning it.
Question for the Experts: Not to sound too much like an idiot, but who's selling right now?
1. Of all the stocks I would expect to weather the storm, CTSO (and 3M) would be one of them, but
2. Instead, companies like Apple and Tesla - with lots of mfg based in China - suffer declines of just 3 - 4% - and our company sinks 12% (more, including yesterday).
So are these program-driven trades? Various large funds trying to hold on to recent gains with no thought of what news might come out tomorrow?
Just looking for a window into who would be selling right now, and why.
Thanks!
From what I recall, Bertha is a man, not a woman. Not that there's any difference between thew two. Except, of course, women are smarter, stronger, and should always be believed.
Optimistic, maybe, but I think hemo could be right. In just the last couple of months, we have come up from our $3.60ish low to today's nice close, and it's all due to the RUMOR of CTSO's filter being a potential lifesaver to treat the Corona virus' downstream effects. And given how the virus has spooked most every other non-healthcare stock, this could be the set-up of a near-perfect storm. Institutions/investors don't want to see their gains of the last few years erode, so will they not look for stocks that have the potential to rise while everything else falls?
The obvious point, there's a lot of money out there looking for a safe haven. All we need is a press release or two of a Chinese or German or some other hospital reporting something positive about using CTSO's filter for treatment, and BOOM, hemo's 10x wag just might happen. Throw in a positive Hemodefend or clinical study update, and BOOM-BOOM, we're half-way to a John Lee Hooker BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.
I'd settle for 2x or 3x short term BOOM. And maybe what's neatest of all, while we're cheering on the rise of the stock (finally!), we're not just cheering some high $$ electric car or a mammoth cavern of Amazon workers slaving away to deliver just one more package per hour...because Dr Chan's product, OUR product, SAVES LIVES!
You're off the hook, sting, the fault is mine, I bought 3,000 more on Wednesday at $5.43.
On the bright side, though...I think this is the year we break $20/share!
Which means, of course, I can buy no more.
Yep, agreed. Would hate to be in any legal wrangle in China. Or Mexico. Or quite a few other places, so I guess we're pretty damn lucky to live in the greatest nation on earth, may God continue to bless America. And CTSO as well!
Thanks, techxen! Nice to know we have some legal protection for the future.
Would love to see our filter used by one of our German (or other nation's) hospitals to save a few people hit by the virus; seems right up our alley.
Thanks, Murph! Question: Now, I realize we're talking about China, but do you know what sort of protection, if any, CTSO's patents will provide the company (in removing cytokines via adsorption)? Can the Chinese steal CTSO's technology without legal risk? In the end, I'm sure China will do whatever it wants, but it would be nice to know if CTSO would have any legal recourse to inhibit their distribution in western Europe or Japan, i.e., nations that usually respect intellectual property law.
Question 1: Would Winston Churchill fear Greta Thunberg?
Question 2: If this were 1941, would Winston lose to Greta for Time magazine's Person of the Year?
Very thorough and thought-out reply, Hemo, Thank You!
I'm a fan of your rational and well-reasoned, non-emotional replies, people like you make this board invaluable.
Hope CTSO keeps saving lives and rewards our patience!
Hello, Hemo, thanks for all your posts! Question: were you the poster who was going to have a call with or possibly meet with Dr Chan? If so, just wondering if you had anything to share.
I predicted at the end of 2018 that we'd be at $29 now, so I might have been a little high in the strike zone. But I'm still fully invested, and I'm wondering if you have an opinion on what some possible SP catalysts might be for the first 6 months of 2020, if any. Do you expect the bigger news/uplift might come the last half of 2020?
And finally, I've never been a CEO or been on a Board of Directors, but if you have any experience with these positions, I'm curious what the pressures/mood might be. Are they as concerned about the SP as retail investors with too much retirement savings invested? Do you think Dr Chan is under lots of pressure to bring up the SP, or is that a lesser concern
than clinical studies, SOC, sales, etc.
Thanks again for your posts and opinions!
Agree with Hemo 107%!
Good Morning, Hemo, I just want to both thank you for your continuing educated and enlightening comments/rebuttals and also applaud your mature attitude when dealing with snark, pessimism, half-truths, etc. You show admirable self control while sticking to the facts and precisely addressing the objections. I hope your investment (and the rest of us longs) will soon be rewarded with a life-saving, worldwide SOC product!
Thanks, Rapture! I'll check them out, too. Do you have an opinion on CTSO? I've been invested with them for 10 years, maybe more, I lose track. Been a long wait, but I'm still very optimisitic.
Thanks, Janey, I'll check them out! I was following your posts, too, back in the winter, maybe CRMD's year will be 2020 (same for CTSO, my primary investment).
Thanks (as usual) Techxen! After years of reports like this, it's amazing and heartbreaking to think of all the suffering/dying our product could have minimized/prevented. Hopefully an acceleration of increasing adoption via cases like this!
Hello, Rapture, I had a stake in CRMD for about 6 months, from last fall to about March of 2019. I'm out now, and just read your post about maybe the second half of 2020 being a possible time to get back in. Question: Between now and then, are you aware of any other possibly promising opportunities to stake an investment? You've always struck me as someone with foresight and knowledge, so that's why I ask. Thanks!
Also sorry to hear about your son, OC, I've never heard of fifth disease. But I just looked it up, and it sounds like, hopefully, it will run its course without any lasting effects. It's a cliche', but if your kids are healthy, life is good.
I'm sorry to hear that, Orangecat. Will keep him in our prayers.
I'm sorry, Bertha, I'll say a prayer for you and your loved ones tonight.
Hemo, for what it's worth, you're displaying some marvelous leadership traits on this board. In short, while many attack you and your "hold/buy" position, and often resort to insults/snide remarks, you typically reply with reason and facts to support your position. Unlike being adrift in a lifeboat, any CTSO investor is free to jump anytime. They don't have to insult you or Dr Chan or any other long, they can just sell and depart. But they stick around for one reason, they know this has great potential, and they know it's worth their time...but they're frustrated (as am I), so they vent (as I do, just not on a public message board).
Regardless, thanks for your factual replies and civil demeanor, Hemo, it's both entertaining and appreciated!
