I use Command Center in Ameritrade and those quotes remain accurate throughout the day.
Either that, or the owners of Microsoft should be getting free software sent to them, owners of GE should never have another electric bill, and owners of Anheiser Busch should have very happy Sunday afternoons during football season.
Hey, I am starting to like his ideas more and more!!! But I don't think the cost of sending oil through the mail will be covered by our dividends from those producing wells we have from last spring.
Probably the announcement of Yahoo and Microsoft getting together.
I didn't read where he was speaking about ERHE, any oil stock, or even market related news. Heck, he could be talking politics for all we know.
So every shareholder is going to receive oil?
I hope that's the news being released after market tonight.
The warrant price wouldn't change - at least I can't recall that ever being an issue.
That is one reason that a stock can move toward an exercising price. It happens all of the time.
I find the filing interesting indeed. For those that didn't like other people (referred to as bashers and since banned on most posting areas) pointing out the failures of our leadership to file SEC documents in a timely and correct manner, perhaps they should have paid more attention to the detail of the evidence rather than their hearts.
Makes me kind of wonder what else has yet to be disclosed to us. However, I do feel better knowing that the SEC and other agencies have indeed looked into us. It doesn't bother me a bit that the investigations took place or are happening. We needed to be cleansed in order to move forward. I see this as yet another of those steps being taken.
Eventually the end of the errors will be noted. What will be the cost? that's the greater question for me.
Works for me Nick. Back to the cushions and car seats for more change.
Just the optimists that expected big things this week!!
The traders are smiling.
Congrats to those that sold at $.25 and above.
Re-entry thoughts?
That was a classic!! Never had a CC with that much back talk to a CEO.
Oh GAWD. It's a small world!!
Perhaps someone hedging on news prior to the show.
Hey, soon we will be back to the pre-buyout-at-$6-in-January price of $.24!!! Hopefully.
Yes, many of us knew that.
I really don't know what the company could have PRd that would have been worth the time/money to have done.
Yes, our price fell without any apparent support from the company. But anyone who did any DD on the company should have known that the strong point of this stock WASN'T empty PRs being issued!! The history of PRs here speaks for itself - little communication, and even some of that was timed much to the dislike of shareholders.
My opinion anyway.
I'm kind of curious as to what particular press releases you feel the company should have put out that they didn't. Wasting money to put out a press release saying nothing does not accomplish much, other than wasting money! The company's response to almost all inquiries about the investigations is something like "no comment". PRs about that wouldn't have accomplished anything. I suppose they could have PRd the almost daily speculation from this board about the company's future, but that would have been EXTREMELY costly, and also misleading (considering none of it has yet to come true), though it may have created some interesting swing trading opportunities for those who have been trying to get them. The company's stance about drilling updates has been to allow the operator of the blocks to pass out the information.
So really, just what is it that we haven't been getting PRd about that you feel we should have been getting? Not looking for an argument, just an idea why you made your comment!
Your opinion has long been the belief of a few of us, who basically were told we were wrong by those commonly thought to be the gurus here.
I think you said it very well. Thanks.
Hopefully we find out in 2008 how the EEZ will actually work.
Someone bought 100 shares at .198 to get it to that level.
Read into that all the dots you feel like connecting!
Hmm.
from your post HP:
Gives Block 1 as an example, noting oil found in Obo 1 but that "2nd well has not yet been drilled." Says current law allows indefinite delays to production.
Makes me wonder if Menezes is part of the worldwide (except for this board!)conspiracy to not admit to more than one hole being drilled in block one, or perhaps he is dumber than a sack of rocks. I hope the first one is the answer, because if he is dumber than a sack of rocks, we can REALLY expect major delays in the EEZ.
My hunch - we will see delays anyway, but I only have history on my side as proof of my argument.
I have always had the impression that DRSTP is not our friend in this venture. I also believe that they are way too screwed up over there to do anything right the first, second, third or maybe even the fourth time. Add their ignorance to the issue, local politics, the lack of experience and lack of oversight and we are almost certainly in for more delays with their EEZ. I see no way around it. They dragged their feet every chance they got with the JDZ, and if not for the strong-arm tactics of Nigeria, we may still be waiting for awards in the JDZ.
DRSTP comes off - to me - as totally incompetant, and I won't be surprised if it takes years to get blocks sorted out over there.
We need more than olive branches offered to that country. We need some luck, and some urgency by them.
The comment about Sinopec having one left to drill also sounds like it could be about a CURRENT SINOPEC PROJECT, unrelated to the JDZ, that may be finishing up and thus allowing the rig to be freed.
I am not going to look around for open Sinopec projects, but it is a thought, and to me seems more likely than secret drillings having taken place in block 2. I gotta believe that the folks running the JDZ (JMC or whatever they are called) probably want to get the word out about their area ASAP and wouldn't want any more secrets than is necessary. Considering most here already believe the Oilygram of more than one hole being drilled in block one...........
It took you long enough.
Welcome to my island. It is a bit more crowded than it used to be.
Long and strong ERHE.
I predict ERHE will still be ERHE come February 1st.
No problems here. But I did that as market opened today.
I didn't think anyone actually read my posts!!
Nicely done. Very nice!
Generally speaking Spec29, I think the fantacising skills are stronger than the listening skills for most people around here!!
There were other myths destroyed in that call today - that the Abraham is in the GoG or even close to it, that it will be drilling for us in the immediate future (or even already is)...
I thought the call, while very vanilla from the quarterly information update (which was expected by me and appreciated), seemed to be a bit more relaxed and intended to help the investor get answers to some of the myths thrown around. For the most part, I heard attempts at answering questions rather than attempts at avoiding questions. I took that as a positive thing.
The timeline of the end of 2008 seemed in the minds of those talking to us in the call. There wasn't a lot of hope for immediate drilling passed around. It seemed like real answers were given.
On the other hand, I almost fell asleep listening to the disclaimer (forward looking statements) at the beginning of the call!! Man, that went on forever!
Ledbetter also indicated that he would not go deeper into calculations of potential oil until hard information in our blocks is made available, unlike what Addax has done.
For me, the emphasis by Madigan that the investigations apparently are about the STP AG report and NOT Jefferson was significant. While the Jefferson trial could have brought a quicker conclusion to the issue, I am a firm believer that WHAT HAPPENS IN AFRICA STAYS IN AFRICA, especially with the level of corruption that takes place over there. Any bleeding of actual indescretions would probably include far too many of the current or recent leadership of the countries involved (DRSTP and Nigeria) and it seems unlikey that anyone involved over there would cut their own throat.
I took his comments as a major increase in confidence (for me) that there will be nothing significant coming of the investigations.
Any truth to buyin/buyout rumors?
We do not comment on rumors, but if anything like that were taking place, ERHC would inform shareholders accordingly.
Kosmos has first drilling slots WHEN Abraham arrives. They are paying the costs of getting ship from Singapore to GoG. Ship is still in dry dock. Will take 2 months to get to GoG.
Attempting to work deal Kosmos.
Question:
Will Jefferson trial bring possible closure to investigations?
Madigan answer that he feels they are unrelated events - investigations and Jefferson trial.
Question:
When are we getting new leadership?
Answer:
Search is hindered by investigations, making it difficult to get the type of candidate the company needs and deserves.
Vanilla flavored conference call.
No new information shared.
No indication of a buyout being imminent.
Now taking calls.
Your apparent frustration, on multiple fronts, is felt by some others. It is a shame that we continue to proceed down that path, but it is what it is. Neither you nor I are going to change what it is either.
I do firmly believe that some day in the future we will all be rewarded for what we have endured in this investment. ERHE is in a great position, but we need some closure to open issues, and some other events to take place before the general investment community will hold the same set of hopes and beliefs as I do. I can wait. The other option isn't much of an option.
Long and strong, but definitely still shaking my head at what I read.
Best to you HP. You bring a lot to the board, and in other things than just your articles. Thanks for sharing.
All that to fill a large order at .191??
Hope so.
Gap filled!
Wow.
Anyone know what happened? Ugly open.
LOL!!!!
Happy holidays to you.
Merry Christmas Cleve.......
To da moon!
Considering both sides of an argument is good, unless you have political loyalties that blind you - and you are happy to be blinded.
Our justice system allows for both sides af an argument to be made and heard. Some would say that the accused actually gets more favor than the plaintiff. Perhaps that system, too, should be altered to only reflect one side of the story. That would make all those who hold blindly to party lines happy - when the side being offered is theirs!!
I'd like to say I am shocked that so many view looking at things from both sides as a bad thing, but in this day of political polarization it only fits what the government is teaching us - from both sides of the political aisle. Because of that, how can it be shocking? It's easier to call someone a flip-flopper or a fence sitter than to give them the benefit of the doubt and consider they may actually be attempting to make an informed decision based on full disclosure. Everything is black and white in party politics. That may work in politics, but it doesn't work in the investment world.
Some of us believe in making intelligent, informed decisions, not always sticking with party lines.
No. It's called BALANCED thinking.
It's quite a concept!! I can understand it not being a KNOWN concept to many here though.....
Happy Holidays to all, those BALANCED in thought and those NOT so balanced!!
Can we agree to dissagree on your statement? I have SERIOUS doubts your statement is true. VERY SERIOUS.
I am, however, glad to see that you get it!!
As for getting old........ that's quite another can of worms.
No offense Dat, but I hope you are dead wrong. With $6 per share taking place in the next few weeks, why in the world would we be pleased with $4.30 per share a year from now?
