OK. BUT remember there is a difference between a shorted-share and a NAKED short.
They were "air shares". Counterfeits. Never really existed but was on their "books". Now they are gone.
When a 'legal short' (a stock that has legally been borrowed) is closed, the share is returned to the actual owner of that share.
Not exactly.
Again, remember I am not an expert.
My take is say a HF has 100,000 naked shorts. They buy and remove the 100,000 shares from the market. The shares are not sold back into the market, thus the market has 100,000 more buys than sells. More buys than sells means the stock price should rise.
I'm not an expert, but the only way a naked short can be eliminated it to have a share bought by hf and then not re-sold back into the market.
Wasn't a 'try' at all. Just a fact. All on record.

Big boys will win, they will take this below $9 - game over
Let us know which Apes did that. I would like that info for future reference.
Any idea how many shares the CEO has sold? (hint -- zero)
Awesome! And exactly my point to the poster I replied to. HODL. I still have every share of AMC that I have bought.
Wow, you really tend to over-exaggerate. You think we haven't seen the numbers?
yes, crazy to think that some that bought at 3 also bought at 70 and still way ahead.
With all the sophisticated computers we have, the SEC should be able to order all MM/brokers to report the exact number of shares on their books at any time. Then compare that to the Actual number of trading shares to determine number of naked shorts. Then they should force a buy-in. I don't know why they make it so complicated.
Maybe I'm not being real clear in my messages. I know the stock is heavily shorted. I know that there are extremely high numbers of naked shorts. But we do not know the numbers. The only number we have is authorized shares divided by number of share holders to get the 120 average. My thought is the vote is going to show us if we have more shares voting than the authorized shares. That is proof of naked shorts.
I must have missed the share count. What was the number on shares?
We haven't had the vote yet.
Isn't it correct that the 120 figure is ONLY if there were no fake shares?
we didn't get both numbers.
Big difference between share count and share holder count.
Looks like people don't want to get left behind.
I like to occasionally expand the chart, just to see where it was just a few weeks or months ago. I like what I see.
Have you looked at the 1 month chart lateley for AMC?
Now you are saying fundamentals don't matter??
Please make up your mind. I count on your advice.
I am one of the people that believe AMC will see unimaginable highs.
I especially liked the "unimaginable highs" part.
And not to say anything, but his video said he did 'load up' on the stock before he announced the play.
I'm not worried. Like I have heard "We have already won, just waiting to get paid now."
Saw this line too:
Notably, CEO Adam Aron, who joined the company at the start of 2016, has never sold his AMC shares.
Wow!
That isn't what he said at all. Lou still in AMC and going to buy more.
Not a straight shot to the moon.

Thanks. Soon as I figure out how to plus 1 it.
IHUB needs a feature to 'like' a post. yours would definitely get my like.
maybe you should remember that those who don't go for the gold, well they will never get it.
By golly, it sounds like you got it.
NO! you gotta stop the bus and back up a few times when you feel the bump.
I agree with you on the vote. AMC can wait til some of this mess gets cleared up and then ask for another vote, IMO
HODL
Thanks you.
Semper Fi!
Who said theaters are dead?
"Conjuring" and "Cruella" prove that same-day home availability isn't the end of the world for theaters.

Like I said, for being an ex-executive of TDA, he sounds more like a street-thug.
Don't know if this link was posted yet or not.
The AMC fight is not against a 'school yard bully', this is a fight against well-backed, greedy, ruthless wall street people. It will get dirty.
