Being short at this current resistance level might be a good play. A big runup on improved corporate earnings is kind of a joke since those earnings were created on purpose by laying off millions of people.
Workers are the most costly expense in general. So how are earnings improved if to get there the job market, and population, have to be mangled? I'm not sure I call that improvement. Then again, it's been many decades since people were more important than Wall St so this is no surprise. lol I know, let's farm out more jobs to other countries just to make a CEO and board of director's stock options go up in value. Way to sell out a whole country! Is that Retardonomics 101?
digger, All but a select few distributors seem to prefer silence or to just disappear, so we never get to hear what their experience with the company was like.
stogie, Their plant/mfg is outsourced - mostly to a polymer company in CO, or used to be. Not sure if they've switched, as they at one time also had EPX and/or the regular stuff being made in NJ I believe. The main raw ingredient, the dried xerogel particles, I believe come from Cabot which is a different company.
The corporate office is in FL, so if you visit the CEO you won't be seeing the plant. Just FYI in case you can schedule a visit. The problem is, historically the answers from the CEO or any pinksheet management (not just intk) don't seem to be all that reliable from the perspective of whether things will actually happen (especially when talking timelines). But if you try, good luck on it. Just be careful about how much "stock" you put in the answers you get, if you know what I mean.
Many an "investor" have been burned badly by heeding what an OTC CEO has told him/her. Nothing against INTK's CEO on that note, but it's true especially in the pinksheets.
Hey, I've tried the product and I feel that I know it works. Is it just souped up clear latex resin with great adhesion and corrosion prevention abilities? Maybe, since when has anyone tested it against latex paint head to head as a thermal envelope type of coating??
But who cares, that's still a lot and obviously nobody thought of doing it before. The additional properties of endurance and corrosion prevention make it much more than latex. My concern revolves around the idea that distributors disappear like shooting stars (has to be a reason for that - wonder why none of them speak out about their experience with the co?), and that the company has one of the poorest success rates with things that I've ever seen. Or, they mislead us initially(?) - hence the lack of closure isn't a surprise. Who knows. So yes, it seems to be lack of effective manner of handling things, one way or another. Seems like it could land a real big contract someday, due to the product, but... it... just... never... happens. No matter what stage of final or completed testing they hype up. As you said, things can always change so maybe THIS time it'll happen.
I also do wonder about a CEO who is mostly silent and almost completely in the background, rather than being out front like most small company CEOs do (for the good of the company and shareholders). This company got absolutely blasted by an Alaska energy firm's test (right or wrong) and the CEO said nothing in public, didn't design a similar but valid test to negate those horrible results... nothing. That was a call to action IMO, since folks DO listen to that other firm who blasted Nansulate as a scam. The silence was almost sickening.
stogie, You obviously haven't looked back at the board's history. I'm not going to do it for you, sorry.
You sure have changed your tune. Maybe you made a call or email and got a pep talk about how great things are THIS time versus all other times. Hope so.
Ida, Very funny; objectivity is important regardless of position. I've turned up more info and tried to put 2+2 together (positively) more than anyone else has. But, that doesn't mean ignoring the hard questions either.
Also, you must be new because the HISTORY IS that there have been REAL things coming together NOW in the PRESENT... for a few years now. But, the NOW and the SOON have usually turned into the LATER imo. That's just how it's been. Let's hope that this time NOW really does mean NOW. That'd be good.
You must've missed the part where I said a warehouse is a good application for Nansulate.
By the way, I tried saying good things and of course I want Nansulate to succeed but it didn't help the outcome did it? lol Therefore, I prefer to be objective. Feel free to point out anything anybody says that's untrue. Asking about the famous disappearing announcements is fair game, afterall this is a discussion board. If there were only positives to discuss, then that's all that'd be discussed. So, oh well.
low, Can we take it a step further and say that OFTEN in the OTC world, the dilution isn't even to raise capital for the "business" (cough, cough)? It's to fill the pockets of the management and friends, so that the scheme can continue. Easy money, while "playing CEO". Kind of like little kids playing doctor when in reality they can't even write their own names. lol
You know, so as to pretend to be running a legit business even though it's halfarse and no sound business plan? Mostly just taking advantage of PRs and sucker sheeple who don't know any better. That's half the reason a lot of companies are OTC in the first place (at least in the pinksheets for sure; probably 99% of them).
Another PR, the pump is on? A good result for a warehouse, it sounds like. I'm not surprised - perfect type of application for Nansulate imo.
Notice the Alaskan distributor wasn't mentioned? Do they have a dist in Alaska any more? If they keep losing distributors, or firing them or they quit, seems like logic would cause one to wonder, "Hmmmm, are we handling things the right way? Why can't we keep distributors?"
Hey, where is that supposedly official Borealis Energy report that was due to be published in fall of 2009? Where are the official studies on Bee Protect that universities or beekeeping professionals were supposedly working on starting fall 2008?
Maybe that's just me. I like logic! lol
Anyone heard about the 2000 mile pipeline project INTK said they were asked to participate in (in 2008)? Or the China partner?
No meaningful Turkey projects yet? Is the Turkish distributor still saying this is the year of Nansulate?
I hope those things happen, or at least one of them. Or maybe some large Mexico orders. Shareholders seem to be lulled into silence and acceptance of low reliability of what is PR'd. Like a casino roulette wheel spin! lol! If it lands on red 13, then the PR will come true! All other numbers, oh well... ha.
trade, Well said. The overwhelming majority of pinks cause shareholder money loss, period. People can argue about why, conspiracies, or any reason at all, but the result is usually the same. Results are all that matter. Unless someone is wise to the game and simply flips the stock. This one is a sleeper and a little more fun to follow, though, since this board isn't FOS and the company only rarely hires any stock pumpers.
This stock, as you said, has an extra strong hook on its audience, or the potential for a strong hook, since everything is based on a real verifiable product. That makes it even easier to PR great things whether there are any half truths or premature or off-base claims being made or not.
And of course it's also a positive at the same time. Since the product is real and seems to be good, it 'could' come through someday and land a big contract instead of just more empty promises.
But again, as you said, most pinks are pink for a reason and not by accident. The nature of most pinksheets is to get capital from naive wannabe investors - and it works. It doesn't require a real business plan, it doesn't require a good management team, and it doesn't require honesty. All it requires is going public and issuing PRs. Hopefully this one ends up different, since it has a real product that is being used and seems good. But the risks are many many many in the land of pinksheets. lol
It was fun following the trials and tribulations of this product, though, no doubt about it. And fun trying the product. But for me, that was blown when Fairbanks gave the impression that either the distributors or company was willing to either lie or was inept. Whichever, and I'm sure we'll never know the real story. Maybe that distributor did it on purpose so as to be able to dump stock (if, for example, they weren't happy with the company or were having difficulty making sales or something like that).
I don't think you've backed up far enough in your thoughts. Let's try... part of the problem with this country is the greed and lack of character, which is evident every day in the pinksheets as one example. There shouldn't be any such thing as a multi year pinksheet, non transparent, questionable PRs, etc. Too many people have made a living by pretending to be an executive, with no skills in running a company and no intention of ever being honest or doing right by shareholders. Pinksheets are almost like legalized fraud, basically. I'm not necessarily talking about INTK, just pinks in general. 99% of them, easy, I'm sure. I know it happens in blue chips also, but pinks ARE basically an invite for stock schemes and unethical schlebs to operate with almost free reign.
The rest of what's wrong with the country, I'd agree. Too many lawsuits for no reason (pinksheet fraud is not one - is a valid reason for a suit).
Which ones do you believe to be misleading? Other than the Fairbanks and subsequent retraction which the company sneakily covered up that same day with another PR before the open.
Which others? It's the forward looking language that gets them off the hook, IMO.
onewho, Oh, I didn't realize that. I knew they had a huge $$ payroll backlog (via Q filings), but I didn't realize they're issuing stock as compensation now. Uh oh, I don't like that.
Like trade said, it may boil down to existing shareholders becoming jaded and bailing, then getting a new crop of folks to believe the PRs just like a lot of us used to assume they'd come to fruition due to such certain sounding announcements. At least that keeps $ flowing into the company via stock issuance. It kills retail shareholders, unless a big verifiable deal finally comes through at the end of the rainbow. The bummer is that dilution has picked up a lot, due to lower share prices.
Gee, that sounds the same as most of the other PRs! They expect that the requirements are satisfied, have fulfilled an untapped market, and on and on. We've heard it all before many times to no avail. Show us the money! I've got an idea, how about successfully marketing & selling the already great products which supposedly make such a great showing with industry? Or, if the requirements for super high heat are already fulfilled, then announce and prove a huge sales success as a result. Not another "we expect" PR as usual. Too many new products, not enough sales. Since new products cost money, maybe better focus on existing products would be more effective? Who knows.
Didn't NanoFan have some UAE blockbuster projects just dangling on the verge of closing? A year or two ago? What happened to NanoFan?
Will this product be as much of a hit as EPX has been, or Bee Protect, or Nansulate Aqua, or Nansulate Shield, or the the Crystal roof coating, or the new technology they PR'd a few years ago which still hasn't come to market (in fabrics, building materials, or whatever)?
I agree, I'd wait for a clear break even if it meant getting in a few cents late in such a formation.
Thanks again low. I spotted the bigger view in your chart, so I'm proud of myself for that, but I didn't realize that it would likely mean continuation instead of only heeding the short term formation as a possible bear. Thanks for that explanation - it always helps to hear your reasoning!
low, Could BTN chart also be seen as a descending triangle? If we use the bottoms of the candles instead of the wicks, it seems ~7.15 or so may be the flatline bottom of the triangle with a poke below that recently? What makes you feel it's symmetrical versus descending triangle? The long leg up prior to any triangles, is that why you think it's a bull formation?
Yeah, I know, Q filings are the only way a person can believe the news it would seem. Except, since they're a pinksheet, and still haven't become "Current Info", and Q filings aren't audited anyway... then even the Q could be fabricated. They haven't had an annual audit since 2006. Not that one is needed when the stock is on a multi year downtrend and the former revenue uptrend is also broken. Good point, though, even if orders from Mexico did come in this month the revenue wouldn't be booked yet, and the co would likely be using cash to fund the orders right now. But you bet they'd be PR'ing if Mexico orders were rolling in, right?
I'm sure they'll try another PR pump at some point and push the PPS up so at least insiders or friends can dump shares, even if it's just a pump. That's usually the name of the game in the pinks, even if there is a real product.
Seeing as how orders from Mexico should be rolling in this month, shouldn't the PPS be going up instead of down? I just looked and saw that the .02s were finally broken (.018 today). Must be the dilution effect. Was hoping .02s wouldn't break. Maybe insiders or others are pushing it down to load up for the next big PR pump.
Hi low, Hope you had an enjoyable break!
GLEN, Looks like those signals to 1110 and 993 will soon prove true. Market free-fall lately, no confidence at all from retail.
GLEN, thanks for the reply. I agree with the 900s correction. I sitll think the piper has to be paid, so I'm keeping my exposure low. I'll go short if we get up too high, but otherwise I'll just sit and wait for the bigger correction before I go long.
Hello. Anyone agree that we may bounce from dow 1080 area up to around 1110 area or so... and then likely another very large correction downwards 100 points or possibly a lot more? Or long slow downtrend just as far but taking longer to get down there?
Tempting go long right now for a quick swing, but I think I like the idea of shorting around 1110 - 1125 or so better and trying to catch a nice correction downwards.
Other views on the big picture?
C'mon low .40s! For a good buy-in and 30% flip. lol Sorry, but that's all this stock has been good for over the years.
I think this is still one of the most fair and objective and realistic boards I've ever seen re: a specific stock discussion board. No matter what happens with this stock, its shareholders seem to be more balanced than the typical pinksheet stock followers are. lol
onewho, I know, and we've all "thought" a lot of things about this stock or company. How often were we right, or how often did it turn out to just be hope or thoughts that were apparently incorrect, partially incorrect, or in vain?
That being said, the company usually made fairly specific statements which produced our hopes or thoughts of course so I'm not saying it was our error.
onewho, I'm talking about real legit transparent companies with real products and experienced management teams. Mainstream companies - they pilfer $ off the top all the time.
The other points are in place. No way around it. We do not know much, period. All we know is the product seems good and it exists in reality. Other than that, what we can verify and prove and know for sure... isn't much.
Get to Current Info status and we'll start to feel we know more with more confidence. Then some impactful projects which actually happen, and are also stateside, or some credible testing body verification from the US. It's not that hard to pay for a well designed test from a credible stateside organization which would sway a lot of doubters to the positive side, I'd think. Wonder why that's never been done and published?
And of course, one possible reality is that nobody has reaped $ from this at all, and that you're completely correct in your initial stance. But, do you know that? Nope, you don't.
onewhodoes, Of course we know $ went into products, etc. But you're helping make my point. You're stating a lot of things that we think, but don't know for sure. And there's no way to know what that FL corp does, or doesn't, reap in the equation. The point is valid, and stands on its own, in that we have no idea what $ is spent on from a detailed perspective. 3 corps of the same name, one for consulting services, proves that we don't know. And the lack of Current Info status also proves it.
By the way, in general (not referencing intk or nansulate specifically), the BEST way to pilfer money is when there is a REAL product. It's done all the time with companies far more legit and less questionable overall than INTK, fyi. It's done in companies that don't issue bogus project PRs, too. So, no, you still don't have any idea who makes what on this setup. Neither does any other outsider.
Anyone who owns shares or likes the product... hopes for the best, obviously. But do we really know what goes on, or know who makes $? No, we don't. And we couldn't possibly know.
onewho, How would you know if burchill has or hasn't made money on this? Nobody has any way of knowing if insiders/mgt are actually "consultants" who get shares for consulting services. Or if they have friends who are consultants, etc. Right? Remember, this pinksheet is not transparent and has somehow failed to EVER get the required attorney opinion letter required so that pinksheets will upgrade them to "current info" status.
If you look up the corporate records, there is a FL corp by the same exact name as the Wyoming and Delaware companies... and the FL one says it was setup in order to provide consulting services. The CEO's wife is the name listed on the FL corp's filing. So, how would any of us know if that FL corp receives $$ which falls into the quarterly "expense" category on INTK's financials? Consulting services, or G&A, or whatever category.
Just some info to prove that we don't have any idea who makes, or doesn't make, money on this setup. I'm not saying the FL corp does make $$ on this setup - but just giving you facts or reasons to prove that we don't know what really goes on.
onewho, Hey at least you saw it on the certified list... so you know that part wasn't bull. Whether the sales projections are bull, I can't think of any way anyone could really find out until it happens or doesn't happen. Since it was the usual future anticipated type of prediction.
Are you surprised? em
Did you say keep buying? LOL Yeah, sure. Great idea. Hope it works out for you. Maybe someday.
I hope anyone who wants to buy... buys all they can. I hope the price goes up aftewards for 'em. It's fun to have a dream of finding a pinksheet needle in a haystack. I don't take keenly to being mislead in PRs, though, pinksheet or not. And the way they issued a PR directly over top of the Fairbanks retraction PR, so that folks wouldn't see it, was not cool. They've never issued a PR at 7am, then another one at 8am, to cover it up before like that that I'm aware of. Maybe they were forced to issue that retraction by the Fairbanks city attorney or something, and otherwise wouldn't have done so? Who knows, but that was questionable PR tactics IMO.
Clipped, BS, nobody believes you. em
LOL Hey slim shady! em
It's actually sad that the PRs need to be independently verified, but at least that one checks out as legit.
It went into the same black hole that most of the other impactful announcments to date have gone into? The question seems rhetorical. They also switched legal representation again, and otcqx requires .25 pps anyway so it's moot for now.
Howdy. Anyone know any stocks ripe for shorting that may have rocketed up today at a greater ratio than the index/market has? I just tried CLNE but no shares available to short right now.
What did it say? Post it again real quick so we can see it before it gets deleted. lol
OTC stocks, especially pinksheets, are known for issuing PRs and tactically using them to issue shares or give associates/consultants a chance to rid themselves of shares (for services). And sometimes the PRs are purposely overblown just to keep interest up and keep the $ flowing in to fund ops.
Who knows if that's what INTK does, although most OTC stocks do IMO. The key seems to be recognizing the cycle and taking advantage of it rather than just hoping for a whopper.
