Leaving Atlanta this week and moving to Greenville, SC. Too many people in Atlanta. Plenty to do, but too much traffic.
Am I correct that NEOM would have to register a share buyback with the SEC before they could buy any shares back? Not that I expect it or think it is appropriate at this time. Just curious if they were to have a sudden cash windfall, could they start buying shares or have to file first?
Revenue From the filing
We had revenue of $2,050,000 for the three months ended January 31, 2006
compared to revenue of $1,679,000 in the comparable period in the prior year.
This increase is primarily attributable to marketing activities resulting in new
business in call records. We also lost a contract with a major customer which
contributed about 13% of our revenues in the comparable three month period. The
fluctuation of foreign currency rates between the Canadian and US dollar also
affected revenues. Our revenue consisted primarily of fees for processing
Canadian and U.S. terminated call records for telecommunications companies.
Revenue is recognized at the time that calls are accepted by the clearinghouse
for billing to customers. Provisions are recorded based on management's estimate
of calls that cannot be billed or collected based on historical chargeback's
throughout the life of the contract and historical data from similar contracts.
Aztreedoc: Think T-mobile is going to have a lot to do with it?
Aztreedoc: You are still sticking with July. I can't remember your logic for this, but I seem to recall it made some sense. I can live with July. Do you have a price prediction for July?
I am APEX, maybe that's why I could do it.
Bigbiggirl: NEOM is not a marginable stock because of its price. I believe a stock has to be over $4 to be marginable. OTC may be an issue also.
On your other point, I believe you can buy it back the same day you sell it. If I recall correctly, I did it in an account that was stictly used for NEOM awhile back, but I would need to verify that. I am sure if you called them at Ameritrade they could answer your specific questions. I have been very pleased with Ameritrade.
Bigbiggirl: I use ameritrade and it is a flat 10.99 no matter how many shares you buy.
I think he is definitely working on some projects for NEOM and can't talk about it... Yet!
Yellowjacket: I had not read those last comments. I am going to post them below. He is waiting for something to happen. Don't know when it is going to happen, but he is waiting on something, but I think we are really close.

PP: Given the very long list of players in this emerging market that you've identified previously, I believe it's way too early to claim a (50%) percent market share as referenced (in NeoMedia's case) by another poster above. Going it alone now seems rather risky even at this early stage especially if Google, Yahoo and Microsoft pay (cellphone makers and/or carriers) to dominate the mobile window. When will you be posting your comments about NEOM's shopping spree? Do you think it likely that other "independents" might now clammer to join this "roll up" in progress? Should they? Or should they (which ones?) go it alone?

My comments will come at the appropriate time.
Moderators: Did someone remove the link to the pondering primate website on the board header? I usually use it to go to his site, but couldn't find it today. Am I just missing it?
It is strange how he has remained so quiet on something so obviously in his arena. Jilted? Careful not to expose all he knows? Either way, he is appears he is purposely avoiding the subject.
The last time the Bollinger bands were this tight was right before the pop last april. But, they were that tight for several months leading to the pop. I am no chartist, so this might be as useful as saying the last time there was a full moon and burger king had $1 whoppers was right before last april.
Handog: Questions to ask... Did they have a word auction or is that still in the future? If so, what did the words sell for? Is NEOM considering a RS? Are they considering a stock buyback? Where do we stand on getting listed on an exchange? Which exchange? How many shares does cornell currently own? Can I(edster) have 1000000 free shares if I tell 1000 people to buy NEOM and shave paperclick.com into my hair? What are the revenue projections for this year? Are there any plans to combine NEOM offices for Synergy and cost savings? Is SOG going to be hired by NEOM anytime soon? Will a new business plan for the business be communicated with the picture changing due to all the aquisitions?
I have more, but gotta go for now. Thanks for compiling a list Handog!
Success: Maybe NEOM could 'accidentally' post it electronically just long enough for you to catch it and post it to the board.
Been away from the board awhile. Man... sooo many posts to catch up on and so little time. Anyone think that the runup on nice volume could be a leak on the Scanbuy case and possible closure on that front. Success: Anything new on that case lately? Sorry if it has been posted, still trying to catch up.
Thanks,
Edster
Culpepper: Nice find. Good to hear TS publicly speaking about NEOM. I too had no idea he has a radio show.
Unbelievable! IMO this is great news for more than just the obvious reasons. There has to be a reason for the rush to get these closed. Why else would it be done in such a rushed manner? Kinda puts that edge of excitement and electricity in the air for march.
I wonder what Scanbuy has been doing these last few weeks. They seem to have gone into a quiet period while we have been in the noisy period.
Can some of our multilingual and multinational Ihubbers see if they can find some nonenglish words in the gowindow? Thanks!

Your Personal Billboard
Paul Saffo, who works for the Institute for the Future, gave an interesting interview .
The more useful and targeted a new technology is, the more privacy we have to give up.
Most people don't realize that our Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Communications Commission have all mandated that cell phones need to have position recording built in.
They want to be able to pinpoint your location with a global positioning chip in your phone or some other way of identifying your location. This costs the telephone companies money, so the bargain they made with the Feds is that we'll implement it, but then we get the right to use this for commercial purposes.
You will get location-based marketing. People don't realize but their cell phone will become their personal billboard.
I have lots of interesting ideas on what I would do with a GPS application.
Cool, I didn't know you could hide the board info. Not that I don't want to see it. Alot of great info there, but it is nice to hide it when not in use.
'Food' seems to be live, but brings back some code.

Gateway in the go window now goes to Gateway computers. That's not where it went yesterday is it?
If I owned a company and had close to 1 billion shares outstanding, but could see the whole picture and knew that $1 billion in revenue would not be a problem short term, with more to come later... profit margins were really high... Do you think I would be worried about the number of outstanding shares used to grow the business in the early days? Nope.
I believe I have my first person on ignore today. Anyone guess who that could be?
Can someone post that promo, please? eom
I noticed that also KGR. I hope it means big things are happening. I will try the words again in the go window tomorrow and see if anything changes.
Elliot: I just get lucky. SOG is the one who finds everything. I am but a grasshopper. I think everyone is excited about monday. The anticipation and excitement is being felt by everyone who has been around this thread for awhile and can feel the pressure mounting. Good luck to you!
OT: I like the analogy. One of my favorite movies of all time.

iEmployee and Relyco Declare Referral Relationship with All the Elements of a Classic Valentine's Day Romance Story
iEmployee and Relyco Declare Referral Relationship Over 9000 “Valentines” Anticipated In New Relationship Between Two Firms On Opposite Ends of the Business Spectrum
(PRWEB) February 3, 2006 -- Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this story has all the elements of a classic romance.
Doug McGregor at Relyco, the Dover, New Hampshire-based global check printing and secure documents company, was just looking for time and attendance solution. He spotted iEmployee’s provocative ad in Paytech Magazine. Massachusetts-based iEmployee, he noted, prided themselves on eliminating unnecessary paper with Web-based HR applications, while Relyco makes necessary paper-based processes more efficient for their 7,000 customers.
He contacted Mike Runshe at iEmployee. When the two met face to face, they discovered that solving Relyco’s time and attendance desires was just the beginning.
“iEmployee understood our business,” says McGregor. “As a Web-based employee services firm, they are intimately involved in secure transactions just like we are.” Plus, the two firms discovered that their customer bases were also similar—organizations that value affordable, flexible, scalable, customized solutions combined with personalized service. “We’ve had other partners, but none offered the experience or understanding that iEmployee does,” McGregor says.
“iEmployee and Relyco are committed to the same business philosophy—we put the customer first,” says Runshe of iEmployee. “Relyco is the back office end—providing all the printing and distribution options a business could wish for. iEmployee is the front end—a full suite of Web-based employer solutions ready to work seamlessly with any payroll interface. Both of our offerings are efficient business tools that any company can implement in just days and see a real return on investment.”
Recognizing a relationship was in order, the two companies inked an exclusive referral relationship just in time for Valentine’s Day. “The referrals have already started coming in,” says Runshe. iEmployee will also provide check printing and secure document referrals to Relyco.
iEmployee and Relyco are looking forward to sending notices of the new relationship to their combined customer base, which totals over 9,000 firms.

$6.88 retires me.eom
Age plays into the retirement scenario. One needs much more money if retiring early in life. Not sure how old clawman is, but that could be factoring in to it. However, $10 would probably work very nicely, even with only 350k shares.

Scanning Technology Adds New Spin to Smart Phone
Online staff -- Electronic News, 2/1/2006
If taking pictures and video with your cell phone wasn’t enough, smart phone aficionados will be interested in the new wave of scanning capabilities that are being developed, according to ABI Research.
"It means using the camera phone not as a picture-taker, but as a scanner capturing metadata about products or services related to objects around us,” said Kenneth Hyers, principal analyst of mobile wireless research at ABI Research, in a statement. “I think we'll see more of this in coming years."
Article continues below
Scanable data can be visible, as in the case of barcodes or the "QR" codes popular in Japan; or unseen, as in "steganography," which in its current form, announced by Fujitsu in mid-2005, involves hiding information in printed pictures, invisible to the human eye but extractable by Fujitsu's algorithms in a camera phone.
"Imagine walking through the park and aiming your camera phone at a data tag on a statue,” said Hyers. “It directs your phone's browser to a Web page about a historic building that used to stand there, or a concert that played there last summer, complete with video clips."
Other possibilities for this scanner technology could be aiming your camera phone at a scene in a magazine to deliver a map or other information about the site. Or the scanner could be used in a store to scan a product's label to get the latest consumer report article about it.
None of technology is widely available yet, but some companies are taking steps toward releasing their own consumer products with scanners. Earlier this month scanR released their new application for the new Palm Treo 700w Smartphone that allows users to capture notes written on whiteboards and scan them into digital files for use during meetings.
In December Nextcode released its free downloadable ConnexTo software that enables users to create and read 2D barcodes that open a broad range of mobile services for downloading product information, ringtones and wallpapers. Mobot lets consumers photograph advertisements, products and logos, then scans the image using its own visual recognition technology and directs them to related information.
ABI Research predicts that scanner technology needs to be further standardized among marketers, operators, and handset vendors to fully be realized in the consumer market.
Agree. eom
SOG: When they hire you, they should give you back pay for all the marketing you have done during the QP. Good luck!
Patent was filed on June 7th, 2004. A year and a half or more to get approved. I wonder how many others they have in the works? If they filed several around that time, we could see several of these type of PRs in the coming months.
A PR a day helps keep the Dr. away. As you say, maybe we will get a regular onslaught of PRs spaced appropriately to build a story and build the stock to a climax with Microsoft news.

Most likely not on Scanbuy site. Note comment from PP site.
