SMH. Coinbase thanks you for their free LCC tokens. Chances are you’ll never get your tokens. The third-party you entrusted your private keys with has access to your tokens. Not you. I’d contact Coinbase to see what their plans are regarding the Litecoin fork and to see if they plan to support the new Blockchain. Read my previous posts. Chances are you are screwed. If that’s the case, let this be a lesson to you not to keep/store your tokens on an exchange. You should feel fortunate they haven’t been hacked/stolen from you and take action to store your tokens properly. GL
If you have your private keys or recovery phrases, you can still access them. There’s different processes to extract your hardforked coins from paper wallet, hardware wallet, desktop wallet, and mobile wallet.
If you held your private keys at the time of the hardfork, you are still entitled to 10 LCC for every 1 LTC. If you owned 10 LTC at the time of the fork, your 100 LCC is currently valued at $275 total.
I’m a shitty trader. I HODL long term. The surge you saw in Litecoin was due to people wanting the free LCC from the hardfork which I knew about before it was officially announced to the public and I cryptically told this board the general time frame of it. Anyways, it’s free $$$$$$. Free tokens. Just needed to know what to do to get them. Will the launch of Litepay cause a spike? Maybe. Maybe not. There’s other announcements Charlie has mentioned that are coming as well that should continue to help Litecoin. However, I’m expecting some type of minor dip throughout cryptoland in early March. Regardless, the difference between Litecoin at $220, $200, $180, or wherever will be negligible 500+ days from now as the halving nears. Feel free to trade/flip if you like. Your taxes might become a mess. You’ll need a cpa who’s familiar with crypto. Not easy to find. My suggestion is to buy the dips whenever they occur, HODL everything you own/purchase, move them to a hardware wallet, and wait til the halving nears to sell. You’ll be taxed at the Capital tax rate, your Litecoin will have appreciated about 500% or more, your taxes won’t be a mess, and you can spend your extra free time learning about the technology, trading regular stocks, spending time with family, or whatever else you want to do. GL!
Sorry buddy. Someone should’ve asked me about the hardfork more than an hour before it occurred. Moderators should’ve been on top of it. Others shouldn’t be posting to stay away from it when it’s obvious they don’t know what they are talking about. And people shouldn’t question my knowledge in this space and should utilize me instead of criticizing me. To each there own. Sorry again buddy. GL
Considering the LTC delays Coinbase experienced today with the influx of LTC withdrawals out of Coinbase, I’m fairly certain Coinbase/gdax will not be supporting the hardfork. GLTA
https://status.coinbase.com
SMH. I highly doubt Coinbase/gdax will support the new LCC wallet considering their relationship with Charlie Lee. I’d inquire with them to see if there any plans to support LCC. If there are (which again I highly doubt), you’ll get your LCC once they integrate the new forked chain into their platform. If this occurs, then you'll be able to split the two and, if you are so inclined, sell one or the other. If they don't (which is likely imo) then it might be difficult for you to split on your own without exposing all your coins. Like I’ve repeatedly stated, many, many disadvantages of keeping your coins on exchanges. I’d reach out to Coinbase/gdax and see what their plans are. GL.
Wait til March to buy more
Lol. I wonder if someone had a crystal ball about this hardfork?
Depends where your coins are stored.
We’re on block 1,371,116. Hardfork is over.
I’ll look on the blockchain to see what block we’re on but I know it’s coming up soon. Are ur coins on a hardware wallet? If so, you should get credit LCC if your hardware wallet ever supports the LCC wallet. Big if and won’t be for months. You can create the account and move your coins rather quickly. Probably 15 mins or so. Let me check the blockchain for you
Charlie is just protecting the Litecoin brand name which he should. When bitcoin forked, Charlie (and everyone else holding bitcoin) received bitcoin cash once it was released. Charlie sold his bitcoin cash right away. You should do the same thing here. Free $$$$. GL

Take the free cash then move your coins back
Coinbase is a legit company. Coinbase is registered as a Money Service Business (MSB) allowing financial institutions to conduct transactions with it. The corporate office in San Francisco has uniformed security officers as soon as you enter. Yes, Coinbase is a legitimate company operating in 47 states. (GDAX not allowed In Wyoming, Minnesota, and Hawaii).
With all that said, there are many, many risks trusting a third-party to hold your private keys or recovery phrases. Especially exchanges. I won’t list them all but just last week, $170 million worth of the cryptocurrency Nano (17 million tokens) got hacked/stolen from the licensed Italian cryptocurrency exchange Bitgrail. Don’t take the risk trusting a third party exchange to store your value. Especially if you have serious coin in this space. Don’t think it can’t/won’t happen to you.
Privacy coins will skyrocket this year with DASH leading the way.
Glad to help.
For cryptos, NO. For USD, yes. FDIC insured upto $250k for fiat ONLY. If/when Coinbase gets hacked, whoever’s coins disappear will be gone forever. If you don’t hold your private keys or recovery phrase, then that defeats the whole purpose of Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. You are trusting a third-party to store your value. Again, defeats the purpose of owning cryptos. Take control of your value. Don’t trust a third-party to do so.

All good.

If you made the top 300, then you own over $2.75 million worth of Litecoin.
Since you own over $2.75 million of Litecoin, I’m sure you are smart enough to learn about other cryptos w/o IHUB
Proud of you. Anyone with serious coin in this space should follow your footsteps. GL
Just be careful. Seriously don’t keep your coins on an exchange. I repeat. Seriously don’t keep your coins on an exchange. Good friend of mine did and got hacked over $150k worth of ETH last summer/fall from Bittrex. Don’t be stupid like him and think it can’t happen to you. It can. These exchanges aren’t like fidelity or etrade. UNREGULATED market. They will not be held liable if they get hacked or claim they got hacked. Be very careful. Huge targets on their backs by hackers and lots of shady “exchanges” out there. Don’t be stupid. Protect your cryptos. GL
You’re welcome. I’m sure most didn’t either. Still the early days. Lots of education still needs to be done. Good news for you is Litecoin is not going away and will be looked upon as an example of other protocols to follow. Mass adaptation is still a ways away. However, with any luck and if you HODL ur stash, don’t be surprised if you become a Litecoin millionaire. GL
This should be in the ibox:

Can’t. This is the Litecoin board.
Can’t. Message will get deleted. Don’t hate the player. Hate the game. Go Litecoin!
Too bad I can’t post about other cryptos here. They always get deleted. A top 100 crypto is about to skyrocket’ My posting history has never mentioned it. Oh well. At least I’ll bank. Go Litecoin!
