Very interesting. These comments from eDigital are totally contrary to what we've heard recently.
Seems like a good deal as it assures that Handal gets paid while not costing the company any more than the normal percentage after settlement.

Borrowing money on this little "dinkie" bit of information to buy shares of eDigital? IMO that would not be wise.

If a mistake is made and an entity filed against incurs legal fees the plaintiff "could" be held responsible. This in no way indicates that one is a patent troll. Nor does it in anyway invalidate any other cases the plaintiff may bring against others.
Additionally there is nothing in the disclaimer that indicates that eDigital is doing anything illegal.
Ever read the disclaimers prior to surgery about what could happen? Ever read the disclaimers when purchasing a home? Making something more of it than what it is, is some Strong Speculation.

Gosh, has eDigital bought patents and then filed bogus suits? Or have they created new patentable technology and then expected others to pay for said creation.
If they were a patent troll, why would so many large companies have been interested in the past, placed people on eDig's BOD, partnered up with eDigital etc?
One could copy and paste a million articles about patent trolls and the Presidents questionable viewpoint of such and it would still not make eDigital any type of patent troll. Attempting to do so, let alone thinking that investors at large will believe it is laughable IMO.
Suggesting that eDigital is doing something illegal and may be prosecuted for filing their suits is more than laughable, it's ridiculous IMO.

I agree. At that time we will have facts to discuss regarding settlements and amounts eDig has recovered and one wont have to depend on claims and opinions stated as fact.
However, at that point we will have only the facts of the cases settled within a certain period of time. Since each case is different there will be no way to extrapolate what current/future cases are being asked to settle for. They could be much less or much more.
We'll see one way or the other as time passes.

"Absolutely no one benefits from that injunction. But GBS and Smoltz Distributing are harmed".
Then perhaps they should not have infringed. Regardless of what anyone may think, Grundig acknowledged the validity of eDigs patents and admitted that they had infringed.
Grundig entered this agreement based on what they felt was the right move for them. It would appear that honesty was more attractive than the alternative. If one considers the situation for Grundig unfair, I'm quite sure that there are plenty of eDig investors who feel that when companies decided to use eDigs technology without compensation was unfair as well.
Coyote
The facts as we know them today...
Fact:
We do not know if the $11,000 collected from licensing fee's is from Korg, Korg & iriver or neither. We only know it is licensing from the flash portfolio.
Fact:
There is not enough information to determine what eDig is asking from those it's accusing. To extrapolate what eDig is or is not asking based on the Grundig judgement for attorney's fees is purely speculative and IMO ignores the facts. Opinions however may abound.
Fact:
Calling eDig's lawsuits for infringement baseless is merely an opinion.
This could be considered "indicia of extortion"...Gosh sounds like a law suit should be filed for all of the apparent illegal actions of eDig's management.
I'm sure this suit would be just as successful as the numerous suits that surely have been brought against eDigital for all of the "claimed" legal offenses throughout the years. And probably just as accurate as the accusation that Fred Falk was posting here and elsewhere.

I may be wrong but seems to me that the only thing Fred said in response was that he could see where that verbiage might be confusing...Dischino would need to confirm or not.
Coyote
Nobody (here) knows...
"Everyone knows that if it were an impressive value, Falk would disclose it. The fact that he hasn't causes me to conclude the value determined by IPmetrics is insignificant"
I would submit that nobody knows if there has been a valuation placed on Nunchi yet. And if there were, whether or not Fred would disclose it. There is no conclusive evidence to suggest one or the other.
No one except officers of the company can speak with authority on this topic. Until they do, it's just speculation and opinion and that's all.
