How many of these have we seen. It's going to be in the teens by the eow, 0.002 by eod.
This board has gotten to the point it's funnier to read than the Fark headlines. As soon as I saw the PR hit my inbox I just had to come see how the article was twisted to meet the needs of some posters here.
Now I must work.
Last I can address this today. Did a little quick and dirty research.
1. MS-Dos 1.25 - Feature set's not fully implemented no disk space limites, unix like pipes, and others. Although, these features were announced as parts of the OS.
2. Windows 1.0 - MS demoed a over-lapping window system and mult-tasking. V1.0 shipped 1.5 years late with non-overlapping windows and no multitasking. FIrst program to earn the distinction as Vapor ware.
3. MS Dos 5.0 - This is the product that was announced early to compete with DR-Dos.
I would have to actually research that.
Although, I do know that Caldera Sued microsoft under the Sherman act for releasing what I believe they termed as false statements and vaporware to disuade people from purchasing DR-DOS. I was a DR-Dos user at the time.
Warnings would be nice without a doubt. But the majority of missed dates by the likes of Ms and IBM go in the form of new dates. Hence all of the Vaporware awards they collect.
Here's a quote from a 1998 Vaporware article.
Microsoft Windows NT 5.0, also known as Windows 2000, is, by popular consensus, the year's biggest broken promise. In an age when software cycles are as short as four months, Windows 2000 has been in the works since 1996, when the product was code-named Cairo. It isn't expected to hit shelves until late 1999.
This is the second year Microsoft has won a vaporware prize. In last year's awards, a Microsoft spokesperson said the 5.0 version would ship in the second half of 1998 while analysts and other industry watchers said that 1999 was a more realistic time frame. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that Windows NT 5.0 wouldn't ship until 1999, and then in October the company renamed the product line "Windows 2000."
Now from the same magazine for 1999
1. And the winner is ... First promised in 1997. Delayed until mid-1998. Rescheduled until sometime in 1999. And now, definitively, set to ship on 17 February, 2000. The winner, and returning champion, is Microsoft's Windows 2000.
What can we say? Its tortured history speaks for itself. Readers tend to agree -- most didn't even bother to add comments to Win2K nominations.
"The ultimate in vaporware," said Larry Herbison.
"I don't believe anything that MS says about release dates anymore," sniffed Daniel Scheffler.
Some contributors even suggested Microsoft deliberately delayed Win2K because of Y2K.
"Was it really just them debugging their always-faulty OS or are they just worried about January 1st?" quizzed Scott Hiett, cruelly suggesting that Redmond change the name to "Windows 1900."
Could you point me to it. I could not find it.
Guess I missed it in the public forum. Sorry bout that.
To me the facts are simple. First you already noted Sirius had the same problems with hardware and getting the Sat up. Yet look where they are now. I know I backed the IDEA and did not jump when things looked dire. It has paid off nicely today and looks to in the future.
Now you stated that the other companies were established companies and have more room to wiggle? Why? It should be easier as a Fortune 500 to meet deadlines. Even with that being said.
Microsoft is known for missing deadlines throughout the history of the company. Not to mention the legal trouble they have went through which should have driven off investors. It's one of the costs of doing business.
IBm was so bad about missing deadlines that they were investigated for the Vaporware they talked about in the PRS.
Proctor I can say I have owned forever but do not even worry about deadlines being missed on anything.
CISO has missed many deadlines and been accused of Vaporware PR's also.
Now some companies that have weak vision do not make it through these set backs. A good example the company that used to make the Dbase product. They had so many missed deadlines that suprior products poppped up and the IDEA was killed.
I would assume the majority of us invest in these risk stocks knowing that the money is just as likely to go as stay if we do not invest in good IDEAS. But QBID is a good idea and the potholes are going to occur. Hold on like the smart investors did with Sirius through the sat/hardware delays and hopefully a suprior product doesn't wipe the Q out. It was close with Sirius with Xm out there. Although, at this point I would not worry because I do not see in the next 6-1yr a suprior product. When that product is out live and nation wide for 6 months to a year then I would worry.
Junk-I cannot reply privatly. If you do not mind I will reply publicy. Which I did but did not realize it would attach your ID after cutting the and quoating.
Sure if you say so.
Each of those companies has missed way more deadlines with larger resources available than Frank and Company.
If you want to try and scare people fine. Go about it. But I am simply stating the facts on deadlines and the fact that major companies consistantly miss deadlines. MS is well known for missing deadlines as is IBM.
I could care less what anyone here says my money stays in QBID because I am invested in the IDEA of the network. I realize how business works and the things that could happen. MS missed deadlines and still does and I will continue to invest in them. PG misses deadlines and I will contine to invest in them. Same goes for every other company that I back the IDEA of Sirius & Xm come to mind which I am invested in both.
Fact: ALL companies miss deadlines on large projects at some point. The fact is this is no small undertaking.
Companies that have announced deadlines and missed them completely.
Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Apple, Sirius, CISCO, Proctor and Gamble, etc. Everyone of these companies have missed major deadlines in the past and will in the future.
I expect it to be a bumpy road developing a station that is publicly not wanted. I also expect any new company to have developmental problems along the way.
Now as an investor am I worried? No. I set aside the amount that I wanted to invest in a high risk stock and it will make me money long-term or not. Anytime you put money into something like this things are going to change on a daily basis some good some bad. Deadlines will be dropped/changed or ignored. I did not invest in Frank. I invested in the idea and I see the idea growing succesfully. Not at the rate I'd like but growing anyway.
Then again my goal in this stock is not to retire as alot but to simply make my coffers look better.
Not there are legit stories that effect the gay community there i n my opinion.
Why not hear about Esera Tuaolo and the suffering he had to go through? How his life after the NFL is going for him? Why not do a story on how you have to hide if you gay in the NFL. If I recall correctly S. Sharpe said "if he came out while in the NFL he would have been eaten alive". This is a story that had an impact when it came out and would be a great thing to go over again.
Why do you think the gay populace would not want to hear which bars are having the best parties in the SuperBowl town. I know when I travel to them I look for the best parties so why wouldn't the gay community?
Do you not think that a in depth story on the Owens/Garcia, Vick, Aikman rumors etc would not be a welcome. I do not know of gay websites/magazines/etc other than Q. But I am willing to bet they cover sports with the perspective of the lifestyle they live.
So I see no fluff in the PR. There are alot of things they can do. I am sure I didn't even scratch the surface. Maybe you should be less negative.
I can see them have alot of angles.
1. Broadcast or stories from super bowl parties at gay clubs in the area. Get the gay communties outlook on the game, etc.
2. Gay players/trainers/coaches/owners and the impact they have had on the sport.
3. The view of the NFL on gays. Think of Saragusa's comments about the Lions QB this year. Maybe address the validty of the Vick and Garcia rumors and the impact they have.
4. Normal football coverage from gay reporters.
So does that acutally lock the shares where they cannot use them? Also, is there any benefit to us all doing that?
Just saw it. Good exposure.
Wow. I never thought an LS1 would fit into an RX-7 engine bay. Are there any links to a good source for this upgrade.
I currently have an SS and was going to get rid of it for a smaller two seater but have not found a car in a good price range with the power.
I am also curious how it would handle with the extra engine wieght in front.
They should remove the new logo. It is not profesinal. Looks like a kid playing with his new morph software.
All needs to be polished.
Do sub-penny stocks really follow chart rules?
In my opinion if your long in it just sit back and wait. There is not enough solid news for it to move forward much.
Just more manipulation of the stock.
Could you explain why when you say these things?
I have no idea what they are doing and am interested but just blind statements do not mean much.
What are you seeing going on?
I am curious.
Most people here seem to be long term investors. Why so much talk about stock price? All the numbers posted would seem to indicate day trading to me (nothing wrong with that). I have and always will invest in the product (QBID, SIRI, SCSS, BWLD, PG, DNAP, FSIJ, etc). I rarely worry about day to day prices once I purchase a stock. I pretty much pre-plan every move I will make from buy-in, to opt-out prices and enter my trades accordingly. I then review these weekly but NEVER care about the other stuff. I know that when the stock hits 0.01 I sell n shares. When it it's 0.05 I sell n shares. When it hits 0.25 I sell N shares. After that I have my hold and see what happens shares.
So I guess my question is why all the posting about L2, or anything else price related?
I am assuming this is pumping/dumping or trying to convince/scare people into something. This is really my first exposure to the forums world of stocks. I thought I might get alot of useful insight but it appears you have both sides of the fence and they cross each other out as far as any really useful data is concerned.
I believe most here are good investors and should see the potential in both QBID and SIRI.
I have been long in both of them and plan on seeing good profits in both. I first found SIRI when I bought my Kenwood head unit and they offered a tuner for SIRI that integrates. That was early last year and I thought it was the next thing. I found QBID at the first of this year and have been stocking up on every dip.
SIRI has a bigger market in my opinion and will do great. QBID has a big market and if Frank pull through on the world wide market then we are looking at huge market there also.
I think both a winners and everyone who waits will be rewarded.
Has anyone considered cutting and pasting alot of these responses (headers and all) and sending them to Frank and company to have them resolved once and for all. Maybe ask them to post exact information on the new web site. Also, have an electronic sign-off or standard e-mail to send to them so they know how many people are concerned about the issue.
I just grabbed a few post's and e-mailed trying to get clarfication for my own mind. Of course I removed all names and references to this board and all posters.
I'm curious why they would prototype in VB5 when that were planning to use the software only on Unix boxes and wanted portable code.
Doesn't make sense.
Everyone keeps talking about these shares.
Is it not possible that the 2%=1 billion was calculated from the 50 billion A/S in order to buy back a portion of the 15.5 0/S.
Why does it HAVE to be that if they are buying back 1 billion shares then there has to be 50 billion O/S? Does it not make sense to buy back a percentage of all shares not just outstanding?
Where did you get that number?
it seems to me your quoting the A/S. O/S shares are 15.5
Irish or Someone.
I don't get it. Frank said the A/S was 50billion and the float was in the 9 billions. So why ae you changing his words?
GOOD NEWS ALL AROUND
Can't believe so many people are trying to find negatives in any little thing.
If you don't believe in the stock the sell it and stop complaining here. Funny I was on the line and would get negative feedback from postive statements. Not to mention statements were taken out of context or flat misstate.
If you are a serious investor listen to the replay and ignore the posting here and make your own decesion good or bad.
Not what he said.
It just won't be in the near future.
Why not ask it?
What's the point to this post?
Curiosity. Didn't Olesen have something to do with HBO when it was The Movie Channel. I had heard someplace he started the station. Any truth?
I was red on all but one stock today and it appears to be closing at 0 gain 0 loss (DNAP). Yes this includes Large cap, small cap, and pennies.
So I'm not concerned about the red today.
I missed the Houston Time warner post.
I checked today (713) 341-1000 and "it is not on our schedule yet". But she did know of the network.
I have also e-mailed for an update to see if they provide more info that way (hou.customer.care@twcable.com).
Also, keep in mind we are just now getting ESPN HD here.
Buy just went through at 0.0043 when price was 0.0042. Is this my on-line broker or someting that just happens?
If the buys for us little guys would go through.
I'd prefer it didn't happen also. I had the buy in for awhile now and it finally made it there. I was hoping it would hit and rise.
Q: Why would a buy not go through?
Had a buy in for 0.0043 to lower my aPPS and it did not go through the whole time we were sitting on 0.0043.
I have been wondering about the PPS with all the good news. I figure we would be at least at .0060 by now.
Thanks guys.
