Monday baby
Hey how about The the World Juniors Team Canada beating the Russians LOL By the way SNEZ I thought you were a Canadian, so why are you buying on the OTC?
I think multiple NR over the next 2 weeks, Phase 3 results are far less complicated in terms of time needed to produce than the Updated Flow sheet. I think Drill results early next week and the week after for the update. JMO of course, I could be completely wrong, just my perception skills kicking in. But what do I know. Hey at least the DOW and TSX and Oil where up today
.76 C close on TSX up 3 cents with 345K Volume, I think we get a Monday NR IMO Good news coming I feel it LOL
Up 2 Cents now on the TSX nice turnaround on 314K volume.
Huge buying by ANONYMOUS today
Not loving the pullback, WE need phase 3 results and the updated flow sheet News, only positive news will move us up. not enough new $$ to keep it from pulling back after it runs up. people take profits when they lose patience. see below it was .75 C all day on the TSX and .635 all day on the OTC and only 4K shares were sold at 3:50 pm and Only 500 Shares sold at .73 C where it closed. someone may want to keep it down a little.:

Niobium has a convoluted history. John Winthrop discovered an ore in Massachusetts in 1734 and sent it to England. The mineral sat in the British Museum collection for years until it was analyzed in 1801 by Charles Hatchett. He discovered a new element in the ore and named it columbium after Columbia, the poetic name for America. In 1809, William Hyde Wollaston, an English chemist compared columbite with another mineral, tantalite, and declared that columbium was actually the element tantalum. The two elements are very similar, are always found together and are difficult to isolate.
In 1844, Heinrich Rose, working with samples of columbite and tantalite, produced two new separate, but very similar, acids, which he named niobic acid and pelopic acid. He renamed the element niobium. Twenty years later, Swiss chemist Jean Charles Galissard de Marignac isolated metallic niobium by heating the chloride in a hydrogen atmosphere.

The element was called columbium (symbol Cb) in the United States for about 100 years, while it was called niobium in Europe. In 1949, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry compromised and officially adopted niobium as the element’s name, in deference to European usage. In turn, the union accepted tungsten rather than wolfram as the name for Element No. 74 (which still carries the symbol W), in deference to American usage. Many metallurgists and metal societies, however, still refer to niobium as columbium.
Properties of niobium
Niobium is a shiny, white, soft and ductile transition metal. It takes a bluish cast when exposed to air at room temperature for an extended period of time. It starts to oxidize in air at 200 C (392 F). When processed, it must be placed in a protective atmosphere at moderate temperatures.
There are 18 known isotopes of niobium.
Sources of niobium
Niobium can be isolated from tantalum and prepared several different ways.
Niobium is found in niobite (or columbite), parochlore, niobite-tantalite and euxenite. As a constituent of parochlore, large amounts of niobium have been found associated with carbonatites (carbon-silicate rocks). Extensive mineral deposits are found in Canada, Brazil, Nigeria, Zaire and Russia.
Uses of niobium
Niobium has superconductive properties and it has been useful in making superconductive magnets in the form of niobium-zirconium (Nb-Zr) wire, which retains its superconductivity in strong magnetic fields. There is hope that Nb-Zr wire could direct large-scale power generation.
Niobium is also used arc-welding rods for stabilized grades of stainless steel. Thousands of pounds of niobium have been used in air frame systems, including in the Gemini space program.
Niobium is also commonly used in making jewelry.

Exfoliated nanomaterials, such as graphene and related few-layered materials, are now widely studied for electronic devices, electrodes and composites, so it is desirable to demonstrate exfoliation of a wider number of layered materials. We have shown that bulk niobium trichalcogenides NbS3 and NbSe3 may be stably dispersed in a number of common organic solvents by ultrasonic treatment. The most concentrated dispersions are obtained in alcoholic media (up to 0.443 g·L-1). The colloids contain thin well-crystallized nanoribbons of NbS3 and NbSe3. Filtration or spraying of the colloids produces strongly textured thin films with good conducting properties.
IMO. Mackie will add value. They have a very long history in the mining sector in Canada, patience as they have only been with us for 3 months. Many things are in the works with their assistance and there is very little cost to NB

ppm and Nd as much as 13,100 ppm; their chondritenormalized
REE patterns display typical carbonatite REE
patterns (Fig. 1). Similar to the apatite beforsite, samples
of barite beforsite with the highest LREE content contain
late-stage fluorocarbonates and phosphates. The magnetite
beforsite, the carbonatite unit that contains much of the Nb
mineralization, has an anomalous REE pattern displaying
enrichment of the more valued middle and heavy REEs
(Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy) relative to lower mass La, Ce, and
Nd, and higher mass Tm, Yb, and Lu (Fig. 1). Studies are
underway to determine the hosts of these elements in the
magnetite beforsite.
In our study, the chemical compositions of 25 samples
of various carbonatite lithologies were determined to
characterize general features of the carbonatite. The
samples were integrated pulps from ten-foot core intervals.
The apatite beforsite has the highest P2O5 concentrations
(up to 3.7%), but La is not correlated with P2O5,
suggesting that apatite concentration does not control the
high REE abundance. This is consistent with the
observation of fluorocarbonates in high REE zones.
Fluorine concentrations are variable (up to 39,100 ppm),
and do not correlate with La or Ce. Fluorite likely controls
the fluorine budget and masks the presence of
fluorocarbonates. In the magnetite and barite beforsite,
barium concentrations are higher (24,800 to 83,400 ppm)
than in the apatite beforsite (500 to 34,200 ppm). From
our limited samples, the highest Nb concentration (12,400
ppm) was found in an apatite beforsite sample, and the
magnetite beforsite samples (n=5) had the highest median
Nb concentration (6800 ppm, compared to 470 ppm for
the apatite beforsite). Further work by utilizing
microanalytical methods is underway to better constrain
which minerals control the REE budget in each carbonatite
lithology.

Introduction
The multilithologic Elk Creek carbonatite and
associated alkaline intrusive units are located in
southeastern Nebraska, USA. The carbonatite, reported to
be the largest niobium resource in the United States,
contains zones enriched in rare earth elements (REEs).
This intrusive complex is buried by more than 200 m of
Pennsylvanian marine sedimentary rocks and Quaternary
glacial till. Alkaline intrusive units associated with the
carbonatite include syenites and subordinate mafic dikes.
The carbonatite and alkaline intrusives intrude into
Precambrian granite and gneiss on the eastern margin of
the Mid-Continent rift where the rift has been offset by
one of a series of southeasterly trending structures. Age
determinations of the carbonatite range from ~ 500 to 570
Ma.
In 1970, a geophysical anomaly associated with the
carbonatite was identified, and the following year the
carbonatite was discovered when drilled by the state of
Nebraska. Between 1973 and 1986, Molycorp undertook
an extensive exploration program at the site, including
over 100 drill holes that amassed ~46,800 m of core. Our
study utilizes a subset of the archived Molycorp drill cores
to evaluate REE enrichment in carbonatites. Molycorp
geologists divided the carbonatite into three primary
lithologies: apatite beforsite, barite beforsite, and
magnetite beforsite; beforsite is a dolomite-rich
carbonatite. Brecciated carbonatite is also present in some
of the cores, and much of the carbonatite was overprinted
by various fluids. Zones of ferruginous alteration resemble
“rodbergite” as described at the Fen complex, Norway.
2 Geology and Geochemistry
The apatite beforsite is the most voluminous carbonatite
unit in the Elk Creek complex; it consists of dolomite and
apatite with variable amounts of quartz, fluorite,
phlogopite, pyroxene, chlorite, feldspar, magnetite,
sulfides, barite, and REE-rich phases. Zones enriched in
pyrochlore (the primary Nb host mineral) or REE-phases
occur quite sporadically. Apatite is either disseminated or
occurs in narrow bands. The magnetite beforsite consists
of dolomite, magnetite, ilmenite, hematite, barite, and
quartz, with variable amounts of rutile, apatite, fluorite,
phlogopite, pyroxene, sulfides and pyrochlore. Much of
the magnetite beforsite is brecciated, with magnetite
beforsite occurring as clasts and/or as the matrix. The
barite beforsite is the least voluminous lithology; it
consists of dolomite, barite, and quartz with minor or
variable apatite, fluorite, phlogopite, pyroxene, feldspar,
chlorite, sulfides, and contains the highest abundance of
REE phases. The barite beforsite primarily occurs as veins
and dikes, a few millimeters to meters in width, but
thicker zones (tens of meters thick) have been identified in
a few cores.
Recent work has documented a range in REE
concentrations and patterns within the carbonatite. The
chondrite-normalized REE patterns of apatite beforsite
samples display a typical carbonatite pattern (Fig. 1) with
moderate light REE enrichment (La 118-1780 ppm), no
Eu anomaly, and a negative slope. Samples of apatite
beforsite with the highest LREE content (> 500 ppm La)
contain late-stage fluorocarbonates (parasite, synchysite,
and bastnäsite) and phosphates (monazite). The
fluorocarbonates occur as clusters of fine needles,
sometimes in a radiating morphology, which were first
identified during the Molycorp exploration studies.
Similarly, the monazite occurs as fine needles, in radiating
or random orientations. The barite beforsite contains the
most REE-rich zones within the Elk Creek carbonatite
Hey Inveror86 Im Canadian, our Dollar is massively linked to the Oil price. The economy as a whole is improving on targets and only the Provine of Alberta( Where the Oil sands are located) has taken a more major hit economically.jobs are increasing at expected rates nationally and housing #'s still in line with expectation.Inflation is in check. Our Fed is in favor of a lower CDN $ as it help Exports. Rate hikes not untill next Fall pushed it even lower
The sell-off appeared to be largely driven by strength in the U.S. dollar, as opposed to weakness in Canada's currency.
Virtually all of the world`s major currencies have been losing ground when compared to the U.S. dollar of late, because the greenback is perceived to be a safe haven that people flock to during times of uncertainty.

must read:
This is what CBMM Technology currently applies as a by product of mining NB, REE mining is refined by this process. I feel Elk Creek
will have the same technology and we will increase our profits substancially:
http://www.cbmm.com/us/p/229/employees-develop-process-to-recover-rare-earths.aspx
Employees develop process to recover rare earths
CBMM announced the development of a technology for the concentration of rare earths present in monazite, a mineral component of CBMM's ore. The development was achieved entirely in Araxá by the team of employees at the CBMM Technology Center and culminated in the production of two refined rare earth concentrates: double sulfate and hydroxide.
CBMM has made a significant stride to place Brazil among the few countries that possess this technology (rare earth extraction from monazite mineral). A major differential in the Company's accomplishment is that the rare earths are obtained as a by-product of the niobium manufacturing process, thus eliminating the need for additional mining.
CBMM invested approximately R$60 million to develop the new technology and will now focus efforts on a market study, and possibly the production of pure oxides. Potential customers have already expressed interest.
The Blairman said there were REE in the Elk Creek Deposit.OUR deposit will only get better

cant wait for next 30 days
Not new, ITG has been a buyer for a while.
CIBC has been more buying than selling lately and most important (since I watch the brokerages Buying & Selling daily) is that there is now many more different ones involved daily. Pershing is now more than 4.5 Million Net on the Buy side increasing their position every month . Also many more separate trades, which usually means a great exposure with the stock and New $ coming in.
I cant wait until we are on a BIG Board, then we are all going to be much less stressed
Blairman
price of NB increases year over year, its worth more than that

Ya, Its called the oil Crash, the TSX is commodity and energy based on a massive % so we are getting killed up here. People think its good because of saving $20 on their gas tank but is has massive negatives to the Canadian economy , spending cuts, dividend cuts and jobs will be cut. We need to price of oil to rebound. Lots of politics going on here. You USA guys need to slow down oil production. LOL OPEC is controlling the market and now 2 downgrades on 2015 oil consumption, since US is producing alot more oil then predicted.
Ah , Good point. Here is the PR from NIOCORPS email alerts, the Title they used is just what the Blairman posted of over 700 M of .85% It almost make me look as If I know what I'm Talking about LMAO See Below:::
NioCorp Announces Final Phase II Drilling Results

"The final Phase II drilling results continue to be extremely encouraging and supportive of our project," said Mark Smith, CEO of NioCorp. "I could not be more pleased with the overall high-grade assay results that have been delivered from both our Phase I and Phase II drilling program at our Elk Creek deposit," continued Smith. "Third Phase drilling will be completed by mid-December 2014, and we are anxiously awaiting the upcoming analytical results."
Review by Qualified Person and Quality Control:
Brad Ulry, B.Sc., P.Geo., Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for the Elk Creek drilling operations and has read and approved the technical information contained in this news release.Samples for both NEC14-016 and NEC14-Met-03 were continuously collected from the carbonatite's upper contact at the base of the overlying limestone to the end of the drillhole. Samples were submitted to Activation Laboratories Ltd. (ActLabs) of Ancaster, Ontario. HQ diameter core (NEC14-016) was split into half-core samples and PQ diameter core (NEC14-MET-03) was split into quarter-core samples. Approximately 25% of the submitted core samples consist of quality control and quality assurance samples. Both drillholes ended in carbonatite.
