I agree. I never use the command center either. Maybe it was just my ISP as the streamer does seem to have come around.
P.S. I never short stocks, and after seeing what happened with issues like Amazon, I think I'm going to stay away. Hope it works out for you.
Russ
Seems to be working a little better now. Maybe it's like an old TV. Just gotta kick it and yell at it once in a while <gg>
Russ
Thanks Maine. happens once or twice a week. guess I'll wait for it to clear up on its own.
Russ
OT.
Ameritrade's streamer the pits for me today. Did all the usual stuff of clearing cache, rebooting, etc. Anyone else having problems with a deadly slow feed today?

12:44 ET GNSS Genesis Microchip patent found valid and enforceable (17.18 +1.15)
GNSS announces that an Administrative Law Judge presiding over the patent infringement case against Media Reality Technologies (MRT) and Trumpion Microelectronics in the U.S. Int'l Trade Commission (ITC) issued an initial determination that MRT and Trumpion do not infringe one of GNSS's patents. "Although the initial determination did not find that MRT and Trumpion infringe this particular patent, we are pleased the ITC found the patent itself valid and enforceable... We also note that the ITC is continuing its investigation of three other patent infringement claims against MRT, Trumpion, and Mstar."
KLIC
if it breaks 13.50 it's going to 20
KLIC now through $13.50. Thanks for the input. Sure glad I bought some back.
Russ
KLIC. Bought back just a small position at $13.38 in case it tries to run away from me. Will add more on a substantial pullback.
Russ
Thanks Jerry. I'll keep an eye on it for long positions. I've never dealt with options. Probably something I should learn.
Russ
RFMD. Out at $11.59 from buy on Friday at $10.97. Too chicken to hold through earnings even though they were fairly bullish in their update.
Russ
KLIC. Yes. One of my favorite traders. Rode it to $13.13 from my buy at $12.52 Friday. As usual, I got out too early. GGRrrrr. <G>
Russ
GERN. Being taken out back and shot again <NG>
Russ
Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Russ
GERN. Already passed average daily volume and now posting $14. Very strange day.
Russ
You're probably right. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Russ
GERN. Anyone have an idea why it's being so unmercifully beaten down? never expected it to stray this far from $15.
Russ
GERN. Looks like the drop hasn't abated. I wonder if they already sold that 4 million shares at $15 and they're just letting the stock go wherever.
Edit: Appears to be falling off a cliff now.
Russ
GERN. Back in at $14.81. Will hold over the weekend.
Russ
GERN. That's a couple of pennies higher than where I got out a few minutes ago from this morning's buy. Too tough for me to figure right now. Good luck with your trading buy.
Russ
GERN. In at $14.95
Russ
RFMD. In at $10.97
KLIC. In at $12.52

08:44 ET EBAY eBay: Color on Quarter (57.50)
USB Piper says while eBay did see a more pronounced seasonality effect than expected and also faced additional growth challenges from the introduction of Value Added Tax in Europe and some slowdown in growth of eBay motors due to supply constraints, firm does not think this qtr's growth challenges are a fundamental shift in the growth slope. In fact, firm believes co is likely to resume growth at a slightly higher slope once Germany shifts into the second gear and new categories and initiatives kick in. Having said that, the impression that eBay may not be growing as fast as investors expected and the belief that 2004 guidance is conservative especially on the bottom line, is likely to pressure the stock in the near term, only to have it recover as we go into a strong Q4... Goldman Sachs believes that weakness due to guidance creates a buying opportunity, noting that it believes shares are trading near an optimal entry pt in the low $50s, which provides a 15-20% return to firm's implied value... First Albany (which rates stock a Neutral) is lowering its fair market value to $52 from $56 on the back of largely in-line Q3 results and below-consensus guidance. While firm expects compression of valuation mutliples short term, First Albany recommends purchase on pullback... EBAY is trading at $53.85 in pre-market, down 6.3% from yesterday's close

I can understand letting pedro come out for the 8th. A competitive player always wants to stay in the game. But let's face it. The whole reason for having a manager is knowing when to draw the line between a player's desire and reality. After the first two hits, and a run scored, Grady should have yanked him. Joe Torre must have been in total disbelief, and thanking his lucky stars they left Pedro in. He would never have done that. As time goes on, the Boston papers will make a huge deal out of that and they should. Oh well. To be honest, I never really expected them to advance to the series.
Russ
Just saw this on the streamer news. Maybe ASTM will get a bump up next Wednesday .

"NOW..why cant the sox index be so unlucky!!!!!!!!""
To be honest, I've made at least half my trading profits these past few months from playing semiconductor stocks, especially the equipments, from the long side. But don't tell anyone on the Red Sox. If they join in my plays, I'm sunk <G>
Russ
Thanks Maine. In this case the curse was named Grady Little. why he left Martinez in for the 8th when the bullpen has been outstanding in the playoffs boggles the imagination. He certainly should have pulled him after the first two sharp hits. At least I was smart enough to change the channel after the Yankees tied it up in the 8th. I knew then there was no way the Sox would win. I know one thing for sure. I'll never let Grady Little, or anybody in the Sox organization, make my stock picks <g>
Russ
Maine. I saw it also. I thought, like you, that it was a bad print. It did turn out to be an omen. The question is, if we see that again, do we act on it? Hhmm. got to think about that one <G>
Russ
Wow. Doesn't sound good. Hopefully the Red Sox will break their tradition of leaving Boston fans waiting for next year. But I'm not getting my hopes up.
Russ
That's just the Yankee fans practicing their crying for tonight's game. <VBG>
Russ
Lee. Glad your dad is okay. Maybe the Red Sox can make him feel better with another win tonight. I hope the curse of the Bambino will be broken once and for all.
Russ
RFMD. Out at $11.33.

RFMD. In at 10.91

LVLT. The breakout you predicted a few days ago seems to be happening, and I'm holding some stock in the green as a result. Wish I could see that far in advance <VBG>

Bear. Thanks for the call on APT. Do you have an idea of where it could be headed? Currently enjoying the ride. Thanks.

08:25 ET UNTD plunges 3.30 pts, or 10.6%, in pre-market on news AOL to launch discount ISP
My vote is Neither. My feeling is that the market will be higher than now, but not 2400. More like the 2200 range. People aren't ready for the good times to end, and next year is an election year. But I'd also be surprised if concerns about a frothy market didn't have some people keeping their hands in their pockets and dampening too large a run.
Russ
OT.
I like this team too, but they sure have a way of setting your teeth on edge, but of course, that's the Red Sox way. We're in the Barnstable County area right now. But I'll be buying a house north of the bridge in the next couple of months. I was only here for a few months visiting with my daughter and her family until I found a place. The summer traffic down here is too much for me if you need to get off Cape on a weekend. I don't play golf, but there sure seems to be a lot of courses around here.
Russ
OTOTOT
Lee . I just had to jump in and agree with you about Fox. Where do they get those announcers? They are the worst. Last night when manny hit his home run, he paused and waited to see if it would go out, then pointed to his team mates and ran around the bases. For the next 10 minutes, those announcers acted like he had committed a murder. As if Oakland and other teams never show emotion on a big play. It was so obvious they wanted Oakland to win. If any of the other games show up on Fox, I'll mute the volume and listen to the play by play on the radio. by the way, I was born and brought up in the Boston area, and currently live down the Cape. The Red Sox have been frustating the hell out of me since the days of Runnels, Jensen, Piersall and of course, Williams. I did actually get to see them play as a kid. Those were really the days.
Russ
Zeev. GNSS. Any thoughts on a good entry point? Or would you enter it at all? Thanks.
