No sniveling on todays News:
The one thing I liked about the old Walgreen leadership is they did offer Buy one item get one free, They don't do that any more when I have shopped there..
I understand B/Y you and I almost always agree on the Macro Economic outlook, its the micro details we stumble around..
I would have sent you this link this morning, but I thought you would enjoy the climb to the top today in S/P.
Also I went to see the Wolf of Wall street in the afternoon..
but the movie is worth the money spent..LOL it is the truth..
So here is the Xmas U.K. link;
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/10552288/Little-joy-for-UK-retailers-in-Christmas-sales-survey.html
And the after hour trades.. B/Y I'm sure you have seen.. but for the less informed Investors after the stock market closed there where several large trades below the closing S/P ..
the one trade at 16:16 stood out.. it was a single trade selling /buying 123,146K shares at 57.14..
Best of Luck

So Prudent:
You think a higher concentration of purchases by fewer customers are Ok or you don't care as long as the SP is up..
Would you give any consideration to the fact that lower income folks have higher medical costs than higher Income folks in the aggregate.
If you agree, than the impact in a reduction in Social food programs as well as the ending in extended unemployment benefits will force these shoppers to lower cost Food stores..
Sorry, I am just anyalysing the data presented..

Walgreens December press release
Total front-end sales increased 4.0 percent compared with the same month in fiscal 2013, while comparable store front-end sales increased 2.5 percent. Customer traffic in comparable stores decreased 1.3 percent while basket size increased 3.8 percent.
Now adjusting the impact of one less Saturday and one addition Tuesday (Christmas eve) to shop, Walgreens still had another month decrease(1.3%) in Customer traffic compared to 2012..
Walgreens boast 6.3 million customer visits it stores each day,
less 1.3% from last year..=== 870,000+ lost customers visits a day for the month of December..
What was not mentioned is the selling CycIe and customer visits to retail drug store. That being greater customer visits in the colder months than the warmer month.. due to the common cold, over eating and gastro issues.. this Correct??
No..That is not what I said.. I said Walgreens credit rating was also available to be viewed in the NNN leasing link
You are serious, in telling us that there are no Walgreens shareholders whom are also the owners/Lessors of any Walgreens stores?? and they are not "concerned" about these new leasing terms.
And I do stand by my statement Investment houses/Bankers having some control over a Corporations stock price.
Now I to have a headache.
Its best to move on from a impasse point.. when trying to discuss A equities future pricing..
GLTA!!
My last post on this Subject
http://www.goldmansachs.com/what-we-do/investment-banking/industry-sectors/real-estate.html
Most certainly Investment bankers provide building funds for Commercial developers.. this was a high light in Lemans Bro. BK which was charged with overstating its Commercial assets value..
I see, I did not make my point Clear.. Walgreens does have Stock holders who also are the owners of Walgreens Commercial Store leased properties.
And the ones I have had social contact with did not like Wassins or his management team either as our discussions moved into investing and the stock market.
Moving forward from this impasse
Would you like to discuss CTW recent Sec. ruling reported on the SEC site 12/30/2013
"We urge you to vote FOR voting Item # 5 calling for the adoption of a proxy
access bylaw at Walgreen Co.'s (NYSE: WAG) annual shareholder meeting on
January 8, 2014".
I seems they want an accounting from this group managing its money... Wags made several attempts to keep this from the Board Agenda and deny its stock holders voting on this proposal.
GLTA!!
.
So you are thinking:
That none of these high earning folks, don't hold any Walgreens stocks?
And the changes in leasing terms being made.. are of no concern for these symbiotic investors..
This is one small fact in a series of risk measures that Wall-street takes in a S/P.. offering to prospective clients.
Gee.. I would disagree, because it goes right back to the bankers willing to lend money to these property owners whom agreed to these 1 year extension terms....
Net Lease Advisor:
http://www.netleaseadvisor.com/walgreens/
Oh, the last sentence "This small variation created significant concern for investors because at the end of the initial 25-year lease term, these assets will not be financeable".
And Walgreens or CVS credit ratings are also there.. as well as MCD's

Wassin's M&A Trail:
His Tenure as CEO and net revenue growth from M&A/s is always down the road with bigger and bigger M&A spending, Now its 2016 with the Alliance Boots acquisition.
This is the CEO who said he never gambled more that 60 buck in Vegas. Yet he has gambled Billions in M&A's that have not accounted for synergies projected.
You, know the never ending list of M&A's..
Starting with Clinic's.
Then Drug Store.com and its Zombie lovers web site,
Now Walgreens will be closing its Prescription Wholesale operations for 10 years at the very least if not forever..
Another asset with the Corporate HQ this corporation used to own.. are now gone.
Look at Walgreens Bond ratings, these drown grades are a measure what it costs to borrow money that no one talks about.
So if all is working so well at Walgreens why has borrowing costs increased..
After 100 years operation costs, excluding labor should have been next to nothing.
They should have gone down!!
Moving money from one pocket a Corporations(Assets) into the earnings pocket (Revenue) is what you are seeing.
Three Card monte is a shell game where the rube try's to guess where the money card is..
With Walgreens earnings announcement it's Down the road somewhere in 2016..

Wassin and his advisors failed to compromise with Caremark or Esrx even though the U.S. GDP Healthcare trigger numbers where In the full view of all the economist's.
This mans career started off as Retail store manager who's Prudue Education landed him in Texas with a DEA legacy Investigation & Pseudoephedrine fine for supplying Meth. dealers in Texas.
I will post the detail links should you care to review them.
James Skinner does not understand the Federal Drug regulations either and allowed.. with the former banking BoD Executive director to fill narcotics based on Wassins.. Wags new CEO.. ignorance of Federal Law to go into a crisis..
Wassin never accounted for.. or took responsibility for the 80 millon dollars loss in 2013.. and he still is rewarded by Walgreens BOD with a 12 million dollar income payment..
I need to stop otherwise I may rip our friendship apart..
I will say I think he is a pos!

Ok Prudent,
You see a Drug store moving its Investors money into the Healthcare clinical services as a risk free investment.
As for any comment directed toward CVS.. this is the Walgreens Board and not the CVS, RAD, Wal-Mart..CAH board.
And I would have questions/critical analyst about these companies Spending for Future growth also..
Corporations need to Innovate and Adapt, in the race for investors money and growing a customer base that increases its offerings around it Core, otherover spending for Business and selling them off after losing money.. otherwise they become Museum exhibits and are buried in the rust belt grave yards by New idear's in supply/Change chain management.
Sears is one example of a fine Company that was mismanaged for many years, Woolworths another, I am sure you could provide examples also..
In the Retail drug business, Walgreens market share for its legacy core earnings has eroded into Supermarkets, Big Box retailers, Mail order and on-line pharmacy's.
Small retail community pharmacies are bought-out the last few years, reducing Competition and are we left with mega chains that promote community involvement yet capitalize on employing a cheap work force based on time compression..
These Profits are exported outside of the community/states where they do business.. so how did anyone benefit?
Unless you think Cheap imported labor and products are tools Apple used.
I remember Several local pharmacies/retail stores in my community that supported the high school athletic teams.. I have not seen this in years.. Even the Mega chain Sears was involved with my community for a short time..No more
Population Health is the medical service Walgreens and CVS is
Investing money in, and I agree with Wickedone that the revenue earned from these Clinics will not off-set the spending costs for a limited medical service offering.
Bringing financial or Market share growth rate numbers of a Clinic's revenue potential into the discussion would be a first step, this I have not heard from these Wall-streets chosen overpaid Managers.
What main St. Investors due Know is that Rx drug spending will increase with the silver flood.
Ask them who will grow.. and they are clue-less but can recite brand names..
As an investor I am looking forward with the spending risks a Corporation undertakes based on patterns of growth.. which we are not provided by these Managers in Earning calls.
Sharing our own Due Diligence is what I though this board was about..
And for Pharmacy's running medical services/ clinic's, I think they need to show me they can increase there own Rx core customers growth first..

Thomas Edison Said AC Current was a waste of Time!!

Yup.. a innovative distruction had occurred and most folks didn't see it.. and I'm long on GE..

8,000 + B&M stores:
60% of Walgreens revenue comes from the Rx business, This is from its own reporting and Walgreens stores are the core distribution point for these Rx customers.
Less than 2% of revenue as reported to the SEC comes from it other Rx business including Clinics.
Walgreens is the drug store leader of NNN real estate leasing that carry contract payment terms of 25+ years.
It should have become a REIT by now!!!
This is an payment anchor.. in lowering costs to distribute drugs.
As for a Kiosk.. I have never read of heard of a 25+ year lease on the instillation of a Vending machine/Kiosk.. Perhaps you have!!
And the Rx kiosk operational cost with 24/7 leased GPS locations, are tiny compared to the cost of a building staffed with 2 pharmacists perhaps a single tech, service Clunks and the operational overhead of the candy bar pushers.
If wickedone and I teamed-up in the Kisok direction we would own the Rx distribution base in 3 years..
Walgreens Executives have painted themselves into promoting convenience.. now mobile apps, Online and 8K+ locations.
Get rid of them..
And now they are stuck into to passing these NNN costs onto every Rx Consumer they service..
There core product(Rx) is what a Medical patient needs, not a Brow Bar, Sushi chef, Bastia or any other BS spin that has been promoted in CVS or Walgreens stores..
These exec. Folks in US Rx retailing Know nothing about healthcare services, or Nuclear engineering!!! LOL
This is what a Black box can not compute!!

Not according to the investment lending bankers and there Analysts.
Who also financed and advised on D/R A/B and now ABC purchases.
Walgreens reserves have gone down over the last 3 years..
The yada.. yada talk is all about the world going gray..
Yet these same analysts have not looked or discussed the Kiosk option in Rx distribution being the Creative distructive factor facing retail B&M operational costs
Interesting trades today when Walgreens was selling at 56.50,
The Investment Houses blackboxes in HFT took a back seat to market makers intervention with 1,000+ trades with a up-tick in selling price.
A correction or Head fake to lure retail investors in... from taking a profit..
And is the uptick in RAD selling price from behind the Door discussion with banking/Analysts of RAD's strategic move forward with a MCK backing..

ACA is a Cluster F*ck
I'm looking at the largest Economic System in the World that cant set up a consumption system tax that pays for its citizens Healthcare with a basic no cost plan.. based this payment on consumption revenues collected.
Include in that tax manufacturing supplies, wholesale, finance, reail and the end user.
Should you want more options the citizen pays the bills to the private insurance companies.
The Investor markets made across the board assumption in Lending to the Healthcare Industries/ real estate/insurance ect..ect..Ect.. based on increasing healthcare revenues.. that is not happening as of 1/1/2014.
Did you see how little RAD S/P when down compared to Walgreens or CVS..
Don't mistake the Alogrithmic trading with stock Investors like you or me..

Hey Folks:
There are some big large trades in Walgreens going on today.
It has been reported these Black boxes can execute a large number of small trades in a SECOND to keep the stock from large swings.
As has been documented 70+% of large Cap stocks trades are being done by these black boxes!!
Are the HFT trading Alogrithmic math models being adjusted to deal with the ACA failed roll out..

"The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking"
Albert Einstein..
Yes.. we do agree, However the kiosk catalyst will begin with one Medical Corporation Taking the first step.
Right now CAH, ABC, and MCK are this nations leading drug suppliers that are competing and funding there vision on how and who gets there Drug buys to the end user..
ABC teamed-up with Wag, CAH teamed-up with CVS and McKesson has not made a directional commitment.; Yet, you can be assured both CVS and Walgreens approached MCK with a JV offering.
Funding a Kiosk build-out can take many forms in business agreements.. Even creating a IPO is a possibility.
As for the details of kiosk maintenance that has already been worked out,, as your Japan experience showed.
A independent Pharmacy could have may locations without the expense of a leased building a Hospital chain could reach its
service area and MD's could be funding partners/investors.
State laws need to be modified.. but hell they now sell pot in Colorado..
This is about containing Rx costs and I see it as a extension of Medication adherence if done correctly.
I also think my view on the black box trading algo. will show up..

Welcome into 2014: part 2
It appears now more folks are uninsured for US healthcare reimbursement than are insured.. yielding a greater risk of increasing revenues in Rx drugs being sold by the Drug retailers...
"Walgreens to offer ACA new enrollees, medications if you don't have a ACA card yet"..
Drug inflation of generics Rx's are occurring based on M&A's , enhanced FDA enforcement, and manufacturing recalls, some generic price increases as high as 1,200%
Heparin is but one issue..
One large investment fund recently took a large position in a drug manufacture in India whom also holds a position in Wag..
.
There is a limit into how much pricing concessions can be squeezed from these manufactures and as we know, access to Insurance patient's are the key to growth..
Kiosks...anyone... hehe
Market funds spoke on Friday for these Drug based retailers and there forward growth strategy..
Yet the algorith--MIC..key mouse.. programs.. will be trading.
M.I.C.K.E.Y MOUSE.. or is it Donald.. DUCK
Welcome into 2014:
In 2014 trading strategies to make money in the Retail Drug sector are defined by the 16 largest High speed trading firms that will be trading Walgreens, CVS, Rad, CAH, MCK, and ABC in the US.
As these Alogrithmic trading systems quantify market risks, they are designed to capture our money based on a equities: timing of the trade, price, quantity of stocks being bought and sold, using an aggregate of news information past projections, future projection and economic data
The ACA projection on newly insured healthcare Rx enrollees where projected at 14+ million newly insured.. this has not happened as of 1/1/2014.
The latest information puts the new enrolled folks into healthcare insurance at 2 million, and news reports are reporting 5 million who lost the Healthcare coverage..
14m -2m = 12million uninsured
12million+5million=17 million uninsured.. short of a projection in financial gain built into these 16 algorithmic trading systems forward projections for the former mentioned companies revenue growth...

Quite Clever.. Yes
My point was that in High speed trading 70% of Trading sets up programs with news readers based on Alog.. developed on Economic outlooks in trading equities.
The ACA has been a failure in enrollment. uninsured folks, and has rolled back its position on Sub Health policies with no Rx payment.
But anyway ...
Happy New Year!!
Retail Rx Re-pricing due to ACA signup failure.
The HF traders will be going back to their Algo. programs to re-pricing forward earnings for the retail drug stock SP due to the
extremely low sign up into Obama care..
Walgreens has put noise into this equation by offering a no co-pay for medication fills to folks who think they signed up but cant prove they are covered.
Trade this sector at your own risk tolerance..
Robbay!!\
WBAD, A forward outlook.
For some of you investors who frequent this message board,
there is a opportunity to make money looking into the overseas manufactures of Drug that WBAD will be purchasing from..
This is a open discussion, so I will start with the India's drug manufactures that Walgreen and other global drug WHOLESALERs AND retailers have purchased Drugs from in India.
#1)Lupkin Ltd
#2) Dr.Reddy
#3) Cadela healthcare
And we all should know about Raxbury..
India sells more than 4B a year of Generic drug to the U.S. market, and India supplies 40% of the World's generic drugs..
WBad is the the Rx Drug sourcing agent for Walgreens , Alliance Boots and American Source Bergen..
So.. looking into who will be there suppliers under contract will put money into Walgreens investor pockets..
Any interest in this discussion to make money??
GLTA!!!
High Speed trading Bull Shit:
The HS trading Bulldozer owners and crews are working hard plowing the dirt and picking up those pennies until some big investment money comes into play..
The buy/sell share volume is not there for this $66.00 projection on Walgreens or the higher S/P projections on many other equities traded.
High speed trading should be banded!!!!!!!!! or at the very least multiple small trades by the same broker/dealer should be highlighted..
This market is not Working!!!
Prescription medications have become a Commodity:
Just like Milk, Bread and now Bottled Water.. sold at Walgreens, Rite Aids and CVS.. who would have ever believed a bottle of water would sell for $1.00+... but it does.
Or prescription penicillin would be Free at your Grocery store.
\
These are future risk management planning issues all business face.. This is why we Investors pay and Elect a Corporations BoD and therefore allow executive managers to retain there jobs.
Either you train your Dog or it trains you, and in this case the dog has trained the investor, IMHO Drug store Retailing is not rocket Science..
Walgreens is now backing out of its Rx Wholesale Business, entered in a Medical Nursing business it management or BoD has no experience in and spends Investor assets on Food deserts..
CVS has its PBM business revenue without the increasing convenient location spend whether you like it or not.
Rad has its reduced foot print spend that is turning it business revenues around..
Walgreens has Alliance Boots that now has become the single largest owner of shares, without direct operational control on Wags spending footprint in retail that did not make the Estimated numbers..
We are Investing against Wall-street and there financing lending issues not against each other, as any good Carnivorous Investor would say.. when the Market Marker's are all cooking in the same pot it's time for dinner..

I never said all Retail Chain pharmacies will close!!!, they will take on other products/services like selling Banana's, making milk shakes or serving Sushi with a lower ROI.
And cities like Detroit may even offer Flu shots with reloading service's at the pharmacy counter of course..HeHe
Seriously, big.yank the Investment Question to ask about Retail Pharmacy is, does a community need a Chain Drug Store on every Corner..
Then ask, whom in the Healthcare services will team-up in spending to be the First to install Rx Kiosk's.. just like the ATM's explosion Rx's kiosk are the innovative game changer...
Oh, and just for a investment outlook, Physician based clinics are the fastest growing business in Healthcare..
Look for some anytime MD's clinics IPO's.. coming out very soon...

Consultation Rubbish: We Don't think So!!
The ethic, cultural and immigration diversity in the U.S.
is the biggest Challenge for our Healthcare system.
A pharmacist consultation may not seem important to a educated consumer who can read and write, however this not the case with many who are residing in this country.
Which has caused the emergence of the super bugs that don't respond to conventional treatments.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/16/health/antibiotic-resistant-infections-cdc/
These educated pharmacists Know this, and a failure to consult a Rx Patient could effect the health risks for the entire community,, and blow out any cost controls enacted.
As for HIPPA. private Healthcare information this has been used against people for Blackmail, discrimination, jobs, promotions,
layoffs, Loans, just to name a few.
Walgreens, forward spending was based on a never ending higher payment for medications.. This cost escalation ended in 90's and these legacy cost is now Wags anchor stuck in the mud.
Yup, Walgreens BoD's and Managers Failed to address future issues
in years past.. and the U.S. GDP will not allow 20% of spend for Healthcare services.
Again: Will Chain Drug Stores Survive?
To be balanced and fair in dealing with this question,
I am linking a recent settlement in California against CVS
pharmacies.
http://murrieta.patch.com/groups/business-news/p/cvs-to-pay-650k-in-lawsuit-alleging-pharmacists-failed-to-provide-consultations
Are these Large Chain Drug stores to big to manage within the law.
Today’s enforcement action is the first of several such actions anticipated as a result of that investigation,”
Under the terms of the judgment, signed on Friday by San Diego Superior Court Judge Lisa Schall—which was entered without admission of liability by CVS—CVS is permanently enjoined to comply with California’s standards for patient consultations and must fully implement an internal compliance program that CVS began once it learned of prosecutors’ concerns, according to the news release.
Why are these Drug distributor executives never held accountable.. expect with payments out of Investor Funds.
Just what is needed for folks who continue to break the law.. more internal compliance programs..
LOL
There is no need to ask why Chain Drug stores have been facing competition from other Non Drug store retailers..
Perhaps some investors lawsuits including Jail time are needed against those managing Investors money and the Health of the Public..
GLTA!!!
..
Wickedone: nice background info on Caremark/CVS:
The model works, as we know the fastest growth on Rx spend is in Specialty.
As the Dupage article reads, you can buy the Medical practice but you can't heard the Cats.
This is a interesting concept that you put forward on hospitals service offerings..
Will this occur before or after the Rx Kiosk innovation? In my view it is after.
Walgreens is at a cross-road in how it intends to move revenue forward, there managements plans have not worked out.
It has pulled one rabbit out of the hat with the AB tax adjustment that they can thank Alliance Boots management for ..
The next tick may come from earnings held back by AB(a private Corp.).. for this merger and released into the second step tranaction.
As for pricing Walgreens stock.. The released earnings are not showing a directional change for the last 3 quarter with customer growth to support these high priced coners.
Are Car washes next, perhaps gas pumps, or western Union Credit check cashing and banking and as Big yank said tax returns.??
Should Walgreens spin another asset off, I think it will come from there mail order/power offerings.
It appears every thing this management team was involved with never achieved a stand alone presence.
Which makes me hesitate at its current stock price including the downgrading of their bonds.
Focusing on Free cash flow with declining lending assets/sales is not the plan Walgreens founders ever followed..
Hey, does Walgreens still make milk shakes up in Chicago??, this was a better plan than a Sushi bar??
GLTA!!
I had the medical director of Pulmonary at a 500+ bed teaching hospital who was from India also, explain this cultural issue to me and my medical team caring for one of his patients.
So, I bare no shame on informing you of this truth.
What you see as a patient who visits a clinic or hospital, is not what we see who work in this landscape.. we see professional meetings, interactions, and patient chart reviews with staff present, this includes NP, nurses, MD's, Pharmacists, Social Workers and other disciplines as needed, including Funding experts.
There are presentation, of new drugs introduced, new supplies, equipment and treatment options are reviewed by professional include in that costs..
What you see is a Clinic staffed by a NP..
As clinics are to become the new care model to treat the aging population, monitoring and accountability will need to be in place.. which is not what Walgreens management wants.. as this would inhibit there goal to sell more drugs..
As an investor it is your right to question how Walgreens manages its Clinical operations.
Retail Chemist and Drug Wholesaler merge to provide Clinical nursing services... that is Walgreens growth model.. Right!!!
Good Luck !!!
A Primer in Medical Protocols:
This is just one American state use of a nursing protocol:
Guidelines for Use of Medical Protocols
1) There should be a prescribing practitioner’s order initiating the use of the medical protocol for a particular patient.
2) The medical protocol should include a timeframe for required evaluation for continuation, and order renewal.
3) The medical protocol ordered should be “individualized to the patient,” meaning that the protocol is ordered after an evaluation of the individual patient’s clinical circumstance.
4) Monitoring parameters, including indication of when and under what conditions the prescribing practitioner is to be notified, should be clearly articulated.
5) Medical protocols should be defined and described in writing, and readily available to practitioners
So what is Walgreens N/P protocol??
Happy and Healthy ...lol
You need to look into CVS & Rad clinical models:
CVS uses local MDs in NP practitioners over-site as I have read it..
Rad has video links to MD,s.
What does Walgreens have in its retail Drug store clinic's???
Unless CVS and RAD releases are P/R Bull Shit.. I will take their words from recorded presentations.
Big.Yank you should follow Allaince Boots much closer in how they make money and its not with Sommeliers or paying poor preforming managers..
Rx Kiosks do not replace MD's Rx authority.
Unlike , the chain drug stores that puts nurse Ratchet's in
its drug stores without policies and procedures for physician directing over-site to prescribing Drugs.
A leading Midwestern Medical Hospital recently stated it's MD's could with a margin of safety over-see about 100 N/P (nurse practitioners) prescribing Medications.
Yet these retail Drug store clinics have not developed a standard of care in M.D. over-site of N/P... and Walgreens does not even Hang the M.D license or guidance protocols in prescription over-site should a patient have a negitive reaction from a medication.
Walgreens management team has decided that Sushi Bars, Barista's,
manicures, and Sommeliers are a better ROI.
This is my reasoning why Walgreens clinical model is a disaster waiting to happen.
Walgreens President of Pharmacy as well as its CEO gives lip service to patient outcomes.. yet their is proof of there over-site in its Core business of patient care.. this was settled by a 80 million dollar fine and the Gov't shutting down the first retail owned distribution center in history.
Back to my point: Can "Chain Drug" stores Survive with their high cost in real estate investments vs Kiosks..
I think the question is being answered in Europe as it is developing the Rx Kiosk model.
GL, in this predetermined election of Management..
Who is Dr. Mercola.
http://www.mercola.com/forms/background.htm
Is there a bias slant to his article..
You need to decide!!!\

Now about those NNN leases that Chain Drug stores have built Wealth around, it soon maybe there Hang Mans Noose.
Yup, Retail Drug store chains have the worst track record for Corporate planning that embraces technology over the last 10 years.
Yet, these -C suite executives continue to earn huge revenue payouts based upon arcane revenue metrics agreed to by there hand picked BoD's.
As Kodak BK has shown, Executive Bonus payments did nothing to save this company and its stockholder from BK.. yet this bonus payment system still exists.
Walgreens will be holding its Annual meeting next month to elect its BoD's.
However, Free market competition in voting to elect a BoD member or replacing Key executives does not exist, unless they have someone booked into a room at Club Fed.
There is a very high probability that nothing will change at Walgreens annual meeting.. in so much as who is running this company or how it is being run.
Most of You are betting on 2016 earning results, yet the Market Makers bet on the next Quarters earning with access meetings at the highest decision making levels.. that the retail Investor may never read about.
Walgreens Promoting spending is up...and does any serious Investor need to ask WHY???
GLTAL!!
Video/Audio link prior to Dispensing;
I'm sorry I was not clear in my presentation of this outlook, Telecommunications can make this possible at the Kiosk or a I-phone type device should the link go down..
This does not take the Pharmacist out of the distribution chain it also allows for counseling/ the consultation to be rated by the consumer as to the interaction experience based on a 1-9 rating from the patients phone before the med is released..
Change laws on What a Pharmacist can do???...Well pharmacist's now can do Flu shots and vaccinations, so this is a less risky advance in lowering costs.
It also puts the Pharmacist in charge of medication dispensing and out of the hands of Greedy retailers.
Yet!!! is they key word...the Technology is here and it will be adapted otherwise we will see another Kodak Vs Fuji film/digital BK!!
Will Chain Drug stores Survive?
Communications/technology are rapidly changing the outlook on the bottom line growth for chain Drug stores..
Competition in Drug sales is coming from Supermarkets, Mass retailers, Mail Order and soon to come 24hr Rx Kiosk's..
Retail operational costs are facing the headwind for lowering the cost of Drugs for the end user..
Manufactures are facing cost pressures also from chain drug stores with increased purchased power to reduce prices..
With both of these forces applying pressure these manufactures will seek a way to cut out the middle men and that is when the Kiosk Rx innovation will start in the U.S..
The Banking Industry has been totally transformed with kiosk's availability 24-7 365 days a year..
The dispensing of prescription Medications by kiosks is already underway and will be the next innovation to bend the Rx cost curve..
Video with voice communication is already changing surgery on the battle fields with life saving results and reducing costs.
As Redbox changed the Video rental industry and forced Blockbuster in BK
This shift in Rx dispensing will occur in changing healthcare service costs in the near future.
Some of the major research Hospitals are exploring this working concept for patient MD follow up interactions also..
Insurance Rx cards will be the Key linking approvals and payment with your banking card..
As for your script it will be paperless as the MD office inputs your insurance bill or provide you with a loyalty card with the Rx script on it.
Would anyone care to comment on my outlook.
GLTA!!
