Looks more to me like a $200k interest payment for the $10million loan.
If management is negotiating to get RD back so they can package a deal, I would guess they run out of funds before this gets done. So I am of the opinion they do a pipe due to the lack of time. Anyone else see this happening. Plus the deal will have to be in excess of the 10mil with incentives they received the first time. SA will likely be part of the package. Anyone?
The mind is absolutely baffling. My son is autistic. I was there when he was born, and I noticed he was different right away. He laid there with his eyes wide open staring at a clock second hand go around. He was minutes old. True story! When he was 7 yrs old he took a similar clock apart,I mean totally! The next day it was back together on the wall working. I believe he had a blueprint in his head. He is now 24yrs old and in a group home. He works 4hrs a week at Rock Bottom Brewry. He takes the pop machine apart, cleans it and puts it back together.
GFP, what do you think about this senario, and it's effects on cortex's chances.
http://www.forecasts.org/djia.htm
It may be too late for Cortex, the buzzards are circling, and waiting to pick the flesh of the dead. This time the buzzard will get more then they bargained for. This time they catch a buzz with their meal.
Aming,it's frustration mostly. I admit it, and like me I hope Cor management is feeling a new sense of urgency. Neuroinv, I apologize if my posts were in poor taste. I am a south sider from chicago, and am used to winning fights. I am out of your league as far as this subject is concerned. Go Cortex, find us a good deal.
No it's the thread that started with haysaw. Was it an accident or blind luck. Neuro said " Post # of 36163
After failing three Phase III trials, Corcept decided to ry their drug in Cushing's Syndrome, an extremely rare disorder.Where it worked (they didnt even have to have a placebo control) in a tiny efficacy trial. They completed their 'Hail Mary' pass, and with the current enthusiasm for rare diseases, and a plan to sell the drug themselves, they sold stock. "
This biotech company did just that. They looked at every option but unlike cor raised enough to move forward, not just survive. Like I said, I respect Neuro, and he can't post thing that aren't fact, but don't you think the longs have suffered long enough. Cortex doesn't owe us, but they should!
Drop the question mark.
Then would MV give me his yearly salary? He does get paid to do this kind of thing. Let's not make this a fight, my point is hard work will prevail, and MV should be looking outside of the bp realm for money. MV needs to look for grant money, etc. He can do this.
Neuro I respect you. Your posts are very informative, but does your business allow you to say anything that could be interpreted as negative?
If they believe in the ADHD indication, then sell a partnership to an investor. Give up 70% of the proceeds. What would be better, 30% of something or 100% of nothing! don't tell me it's not that easy either, because there are many investors around with 10 to 20 million burning a hole in their pockets.
Ya but they got on base, like I said, turn over every stone till you find something, maybe rare but a hit. I may not be as articulate as you are neuro, but my business grew 79% last yr, is 22% up yr to date, and in 2009 up 50%. I didn't experience the growth by sitting on the sidelines. I often leave the safety of my normal business to build new avenues of success. They have no excuse, not even a bad economy!
Who would want to buy a company with nothing but proof of concept?
A buyer would have to be nuts, or they would have to get the co real cheap. Please educate me if I am missing something here.
You are undoubtedly correct.
You are being kind, it took to long IMHO, if they sell it's because they finally realize they suck.
So if they do sell it proves one thing, management sucks, and Haysaw was 100% correct in his opinion of them.
I feel really low right now, as I am sure many of the longs do.
Now if the buyer uses stock for the purchase, and immediately advances the compounds, ADHD! RD! AD!...........We're all going to be rich!!!!!!! Sell baby sell!
More of the same! Plus no communication from Varney. Translates to nothing! Same old song and dance. or Bungle in the jungle. Did SA give us an once of hope? Was there anything in the results that would lead to some BP involvement?
Ombow, in the end we are all just men, and cortex is just another black hole in the universe. Why can I say this, because I can.
That kind of goes along with what I have been saying about Varney having something to prove. We should be rewarded for his efforts to be successful as the new leader.
Haysaw, I think that is a reasonable and honest summary of managements shortcomings. However, I still think Varney is the new guy with something to prove. He will find the answer soon, or we fade away to the pink sheets. The answer can't be more of the same either, or they will never advance past POC with any of their compounds.
Yes much better off if they pay more then .15 cents per share.
Why is it so easy for all of the posters (yes, even you) to keep going back to ADHD, but it wasn't for Cor management. How much time and money was wasted on RD?SA? And why not look for an indication champion! MJF foundation gave cor funding.
Are you reading this Varney! We want more out of you!
The only other thing I can say is that I have been interested in both because of my son for years, but as you can see, seaside has advanced to phase II.
Pete Rose didn't hit many home runs Neuroinv. but he was on base and was a winner, unfortunately he liked to gamble...you know the rest of the story.
We need to get a man on base quickly. The Autism indication is being chased by Seaside.http://www.seasidetherapeutics.com/programs/fragile_x_clinical_trials.php
Varney should be talking to them.
To add to my comments, she said she had never seen a more promising drug, but can't say anything more. My son is autistic, and she thinks ampakines are his best hope. Why not go after autism! So many subgroups they could certainly help.
Don't ask me. You are the biotech authority. I heard my son's neurologist mention it about Cortex when I asked her about the study. She ran the fragile X study for them. She is Dr. Elisabeth Berry Kravis (Chicago). Neuro , think about it, something rare, something baffling, something neurological! I fix servo motors used in robotics, although these motors kind of have brains, they are far less complicated. But you have got to admit, if the fda gives you the fast track Ipass you pretty much are in the right lane to proceed!
The answer is finding an orphan drug indication. That will be the quickest way to advance ampakines. Getting support when support is hard to find.
Management needs a bunt single, a base on balls, hit by a pitch.
Get a man on first to have a chance to score. Turn over enough rocks and sooner or later they will find some bait to catch a keeper.
Bravo!!! Well said.
I had hoped that Varney was the new young buck. That is yet to be determined. Hopefully by year end.
The company is still pathetic! Good companies produce good news!
Bad companies spend all resources without regard and go out of business.
And here we sit back at the 52 week low. This company is pathetic
Will I be entitled to royalties for coming up with the idea?
:)
Ahh another gambler among us. This stock is the longshot that could pay 50 to 1. That's why we are here. If only ampakines could help stop gambling urges we would all be rich!
At .145 you'll have money to spare! Go ahead, buy that share.
I still think Varney should sell his jet ski to finance ADHD
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CORX.OB+Basic+Chart&t=5y
The chart says it all. Without adhd this is going nowhere?
Can't believe we just hit .14
ADHD? Private equity? Raffle tickets to raise money?
Sell your jet ski's Varney!
Still hope.
Is it over?

Other Programs
In addition to the Company’s lead program, A.P. Pharma has a pipeline of other product candidates using our Biochronomer technology.
APF112
APF112 utilizes A.P. Pharma’s Biochronomer delivery technology to target post-surgical pain relief. The product is designed to provide up to 36 hours of localized pain relief by delivering mepivacaine directly to the surgical site. Mepivacaine is a well-known, short-acting local anesthetic with an excellent safety profile. APF112 is designed to prolong the anesthetic effect of mepivacaine and thus minimize or eliminate the use of opiates. Opiates are currently used in the majority of surgical procedures as a means of managing post-operative pain, and while they are powerful and useful drugs, they may have side effects such as addiction, nausea, disorientation, sedation, constipation, vomiting, urinary retention and, in some situations, life-threatening respiratory depression. If efficacy in treating post-surgical pain can be demonstrated, A.P. Pharma believes that there will be substantial potential for this product, as there are approximately 20 million surgical procedures performed annually in the United States for which the product could potentially be utilized.
Ignore,Why? I am worried! You always seemed to have positive energy in all of your posts, and not the type that is misleading. No harm intended, please forgive my honesty. I have lost 6 figures on this stock and am hoping for a miracle.
