Fair enough lol... I think we gave him all the info he needs.
I believe Monk said that Just 2 Trades execution speeds were unreliable, and that he only uses them for FLD plays. For day trades, he uses E*Trade because of their 2 second execution guarantee for their Pro Trader users. Monk did say he negotiated a lower rate, but I don't recall what it was.
I agree that the the conditions for entry must still be in place. But it would seem like there is a bit more downside risk if you simply re-enter because the stock has moved back within the BB Bands. I imagine you could have bought in immediately and seen a 0.20 or so loss before triggering an exit by one of the other conditions. It didn't happen in this case, but it doesn't seem like that far fetched a scenario.
I'd probably be difficult to deal with in that meeting...
"Damon, what's wrong"
"What's wrong?... WHAT'S WRONG?!... You and your stupid meeting are costing me money!"
I will be doing that someday soon for sure. Can't wait to fire my boss.
Question for the expert F traders...
I understand the concept of using the BB bands as our back-up signal to exit the trade. But what is the re-trigger for getting back in? FAS today is a perfect example. The stock overextended to 21.90 and from what I can see signaled to a bunch of us to exit. But as we can see from follow-up action, the stock consolidated for about 10 minutes before starting to move up again. What should we have been looking for to re-enter the trade?
TIA
Ahh... lol. I thought I was a little slow on the trade. Technically I don't get to do it at work. To tell you the truth, I'm terrified of the idea of doing it at work. Far too many impromptu meetings. I'd have to sell immediately to avoid risking money.
Hmm... you got in .10 before me and out at the same time. This w thing sucks...
People need to keep in mind that these are FLDs... NOT pump and dumps.
As craig_baker pointed out yesterday. So many people have been conditioned to these swing trade, momentum, pump and dump gurus that they are used to rushing into a stock as quickly as possible so they can get their 10-15% (of a 40-50% pop) and dump before it hits the fan. Anyone who has been to a Monkinar or has been in a previous FLD know that these plays take time and that any initial pop is likely to pull back a bit anyway. And let's face it how many people that bought CDIV at .001 when it was called at .0007 are complaining now? I mean, that's a 43% premium to called price. What about the ones that didn't get into .02-.03? Are they complaining?
The immediate gratification crew needs to check themselves and understand what these plays are all about.
Right on... That sounds like a PERFECT place for everyone to meet up. Hopefully by then I'll be done with this damn back therapy so I can get my beach body ready... lol
For now it's just the Portland reunion... Soon it'll be the party posse... err... or something like that.
No worries... :)
Yes, meeting you and your husband was great. We have a phenomenal family here on Monk's Den. I know we'll all be meeting up again (and partying hard). If not one of the future Monkinars, then definitely at our retirement parties. ;)
Indeed you are... But we knew that long before now.
Dilution? When has there been dilution?
I think you meant additional short selling.
I second that!
Now I'm really sweating... Damn this Virgo blood.
So long as you're not a Capricorn or Taurus, I should be able to calm down.
Right there with you. Picked up my first block.
All this talk of burritos reminded me.
Today is Blackened Burrito day at Neato Burrito.
It suddenly feels like Christmas!
Wow... breaking out into cold sweats over here... lol
That is so cool seeing couples doing this together... I need to find me a day trader hottie. All the ones I find seem to only know how to spend money.
Sounds like a good plan.
Ok... Opening up a Boston Monkinar and party fund. I've got a couple months to work on it.
Whoever controls the float controls the ASK price. If the team controls all the float, then they control the ASK price. The only thing the MMs can do at that point is offer up air shares at a lower ASK price. But eventually they have to stop and they have to cover. When they do that, they have to buy REAL shares, and the only people that they can buy REAL shares from control the ASK price. The bid and ask is always there, but they are often an illusion.
My goodness, it looks like the flipping flippers are flipping flipping again...
I'm flipping out here.
It will be kind of funny to reflect on how people got bent out of shape over a 30% move when the stock is up 3000% down the road.
Wrong... too many flippers in the current ones. I think I just saw them chasing a rainbow to somewhere else though.
You need to remember that these are not pump and dump plays. All those recklessly diving into PNTV better remember that this is another FLD play. It is very likely that when the immediate buying surge slows down, the stock will retrace. It's not yet ready for a squeeze. While it may be frustrating to think you're missing out on a 30% gain, you need to step back and take it for what it is. A blip on the radar. The stock will likely retrace and the eventual run will dwarf this current move.
And those foolish enough to drop CDIV, EIGH, or GRNO to try to make a piddly quick dollar or two will sorely regret it. Those people don't get the team concept and really don't need to be here anyway.
1) Flippers jump out of CDIV, EIGH, and GRNO to chase PNTV
2) CDIV, EIGH, and GRNO drop a decent amount on little volume
3) PNTV runs up quickly do to surging buy pressure
4) CDIV, EIGH, and GRNO become stronger because weak hands bailed and their shares were bought by strong hands
5) CDIV, EIGH, and GRNO start to run because of strong team controlling the sell price.
6) Flippers bail on PNTV and dive back into CDIV, EIGH, and GRNO adding fuel to an already raging fire.
7) PNTV drops fast on the increased sell pressure
8) Strong hands from CDIV,EIGH, and GRNO start buying into PNTV absorbing the float and lending support
9) PNTV stabilizes and starts to rise rapidly.
10) Flippers come flying back into PNTV adding fuel to the fire...
Why is this a bad thing again?
I love it... I increased my CDIV position by 50%. Let the flippers go. They were only going to hurt the run once it started.
To be honest. They'll be flipping out of PNTV and back into CDIV,EIGH, and GRNO soon enough. At which point, I'll buy some PNTV. lol
To be honest, had I been able to get a different flight back, I would have. That was a lot of fun. But once we're all retired, those moments will be so numerous that it'll get boring (ok, probably not). I'll try to make up for it if/when I make it to Boston.
Don't worry. It'll be our little secret.
Well... Mine, yours and not to mention the other 40 or so people that were there...
You know what. Just forget I brought it up. lol
I think it generally goes...
Ooooooooo... You're Italian!!!
or
UGH! You're Italian?!
Oh well, can't please everyone. lol
And let's be honest... We both know why you two were blanking on my name... the hotel name... the state you were in... and the planet you were on at the moment.
I think "oh crap" works just fine... Being known as "the italian" is both really good and really bad at the same time. lol
Not sure that's the type "runs" we want CDIV to go on.
That being said, I picked up some more today.
I'm not sure whether to be flattered or scared.
As of now, I'm definitely going to Pittsburgh and very likely going to Boston as well. I expect coming up with the tuition a 3rd time will somehow be even easier than the first.
And I hope those pen bruises heal for you man. You stole the show on day two... lol
Wow... That's kind of harsh. He should of told you to rub yourself down with horse crap. That would have been a lot less degrading.
Staying at the hotel Saturday and Sunday night... Debating coming out Friday night too.
I'll be on my home turf, so I promise to party extra hardy... lol
