That would tend to make things more confusing which is why I dont do that, life is confusing enough.
Monkhood is a little cold though.
I dont have alot of start and stop relationships and I dont "throw my thingy around" like some might think of a Rock Star like Elvis.
All I know is that I have local radio DJ's saying "We agree with you " over the airwaves, when I know the contrarian point is probably more true. They are looking for ways to deflate just about anything that I do, since they are aware of potential impending lawsuits.
Good thing they ( govt ) merged BOTH an Irish person and a Polish Person when they made me though, my bases are more broadly covered that way.
This is your life DSD.... an interesting realization... something produced over mass airwaves ( did I say that? )
The IVY just grows and grows where and when it stops nobody knows. ( is that where they came up with the term IVY League ? )
Rhode Island schools examining the use of soda pop for kids in schools. I spent alot of time in Rhode Island, and Caffeine has sometimes been a problem for me, pluses have FAR outweighed the negatives though, seriously.
Soooooo overanalysis of caffeine use, prescription use, and metaphysical aspects of human relationships is one for a government think tank and that wont work because the real world contains things like People in them.
Combining the Nasdaq, with the LSE ( was not a paranoid concept, but a thought of a broader or wider more expansive knowledgebase for understanding companies that work ). Social and operational complexities as well as will it be advantageous to both countries market folks is one that I am definately unsure about.
Story from Robert Grey, The combining of two markets is an interesting project, but has complexities that are far beyond me in terms of experience and capabilities, regulatory issues, etc.
I need an English Beer.
Hey, when your customers are about 6 billion people ( for music, movies, and other IP concerns ) a good understanding of the overall populace comes from the origins of all of us who slaved to teach everyone "English" right ? Thats the best way that I can describe that one.
All I know is that I am not infertile..... an unfortunate thing for those who are, bringing new life in the world would be about one of the most beautiful things I would imagine.
Nasdaq purchasse of the London Exchange ? I Know I came up with that one.
Saturn: I was definately hyping the concept of GM offering a similar offshute to its overall firm like Cadillac, the concept of the VUE, and original Saturn car I remember describing "pretty clearly" before their release. ( it was a bit of an employee ownership or better market understanding concept ). The plastic door panels, the rubber moldings, etc. etc. The earnings were the best in 2004? I stopped or slowed writing in 2003/2004 for the most part ? Not sure how I could have helped sales that way. ( kind of a metaphysical topic ). Well Metaphysical topics are related to prescription use that is for sure.
Hope this isnt another distraction case.... Sounds real anyways.
Having had some problems with Pharmaceuticals myself however I would at least look into the claims and see if they are legit. Hard to test for that though for you dont really know unless you are taking the drug.
I am a little shaky as far as whether I believe all of the peoples claims for what Vioxx has caused them for health problems as well. This is another Wiretapping IP issue since peoples awareness tends to come from silly phone comments and one can sort of "get the idea" to charge the company with health issues that may be entirely different than what the drugs problems are.
Why was their such a delay for the release of this info I wonder? Seems like waiting until the share price gets low is a little rough on the company.
I couldnt find exactly how many products Merck is covering but
The company has alot on its plate. ( I dont see a problem here ).
Overview
In December 2005, Merck unveiled a plan to reclaim its leadership position in the pharmaceutical industry. As part of the strategy, Merck is focusing on improving its research and development (R&D) productivity by focusing on select therapeutic areas, implementing a new commercial model that will deliver greater value to customers, and reducing its overall cost structure company-wide.
Merck’s new R&D model is designed to increase productivity and improve the probability of success by prioritizing the Company’s R&D resources on nine priority disease areas-Alzheimer’s disease, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, novel vaccines, obesity, oncology, pain and sleep disorders. These therapeutic areas were carefully chosen based on a set of criteria including unmet medical needs, scientific opportunity and commercial opportunity. Within these therapeutic areas, Merck will commit resources to achieve research breadth and depth and to develop best-in-class targeted and differentiated products that are valued highly by patients, payers and physicians.
The Company will also make focused investments to pursue specific mechanisms in the following selected disease areas: antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals (hepatitis C virus, human immunodeficiency virus), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, neurodegeneration, ophthalmology, osteoporosis, schizophrenia and stroke. In addition, the Company will capitalize on selected opportunities outside these areas by continuing to commercialize attractive clinical development candidates in the pipeline and by pursuing appropriate external licensing opportunities.
Merck has a 76 billion dollar market capitalization so if the stock is down 60% from its highs its market capitalization was
122 Billion. that is a loss of 46 billion dollars in Market Capitalization, ( possibly since news that their were problems with Vioxx began to break ). Who says share price doesnt matter ?
Still a 76 billion dollar market cap is pretty good.
I will leave it to an Expert financial analyst to determine what Mercks share price "should be at" and compare to actual values for share price to determine if the negative sentiments from these trials is lowering perceptions of share value.
Now there are alot of products that Merck offers so if one "takes a header" like this it still should not be that significant to their profitability.
Mercks Net Income for 2005 approx. 6 billion. Max Legal awards 1 billion ( that still is only 17% of a single years net income ). These cases will be spread over many years I would imagine.
Mercks R&D expenditures for 2005 were 4.1 billion dollars so the lawsuits are a fraction of THAT only.
Mercks financials on preparations for the lawsuits: From December 05's financials.
As of December 31, 2004, the Company had established a reserve of 675 million solely for its future Vioxx legal defense costs. During 2005, the Company spent $285 million in the aggregate in Vioxx legal defense costs worldwide. In the fourth quarter of 2005, the Company recorded a charge of $295 million to increase the reserve solely for its future legal defense costs related to Vioxx to $685 million at December 31, 2005. This reserve is based on certain assumptions and is the best estimate of the amount that the Company believes, at this time, it can reasonably estimate will be spent through 2007.
If Merck was tried in every state with the same restrictions than a total of .75 billion would be at stake. Still minor considering. I will check mercks valuation and profits for each year.
Mercks stock price is down over 60% from its Highs.
Not a good tuesday for my Microcaps.
Interest Rates, Oil, and Resources like Gold, and Silver, and Aluminum on the Rise ( that is bearish for the overall isnt it ? )
John Mcdarby is 77 years old, they should come up with some younger cases.
Mercks case is a "class action" ?
I would just like to say hello to Julie Hyman.... LOL.
Merck cont..........
That is One Tenth of One Percent of their Revenues.......
Geeez, shouldnt be a problem.
Merck MAKES 22 BILLION DOLLARS / YEAR IN REVENUE, settled lawsuits are a drop in the bucket but I understand that they need to be careful about those who "jump on the bandwagon".
Merck Verdict of 9 million should be a drop in the bucket let me check their financials.
VCSY and BDCO are the only 2 on track today... Lets hope for a recovery.
The Value of IP and a buck for that matter is not understood well by the common man everywhere, and the concept of buying things that GO UP IN VALUE.
China Trade (cont.) with a financial incentive that will help their economy by helping those on the fringes of their economy understand the value of a buck and the value of IP.
China Trade gaps vs piracy....... Considering the currency manipulation, the piracy and the other factors of thugginess I would subtract a large % of our trade gap and what we may owe them to start, that would provide a financial incentive for them to clean it up.
TGTL up 57%.
GOLD, SILVER and Aluminum prices on the rise.
