Sold half at 2.05. In at .69 so not bad.
Breakout--Check out the open interest volume on the SLV July 40 calls. I will invest in that position and then I am looking into a few others that I will get back with you on.
I agree. I am sitting on the April 30 contract already but am interested in getting more calls on the further out contracts. I haven't decided which ones yet but will this week.
Agree. Days when the market is closed is so boring but it is fun to watch silver and oil prices skyrocket. Can't wait for tomorrow. From the looks of what is going on in the Middle East, I think the price of oil should continue to have some upward momentum.
From Matt's analysis which I believe to be solid, Silver is headed into the 40's. clearly it won't be a straight line but I will continue to hold calls 3-9 months out. GLTA
I have the SLV April 30 calls bought at .85.
Anyone have an opinion on DBA. Its slow but steady and I believe a good place to sit the money while waiting for something more short term-volatile.
Ad-USO obviously doing well. Do you have an opinion on where oil is headed in next three weeks or so? I would like to see 93-95 and think it is a strong possibility.
I think buying calls a few months out would be much safer than buying puts. We all know silver is extremely volatile but I believe 35 is the next stop short term then puts may look good. This is just my opinion. I'm sitting on the april 30 calls that I picked up a couple weeks ago. Good luck with whatever direction you decide on. Moe
Now you have my curiosity up!!!!
Congrats AD. I'm looking for it to bounce off 105 resistance but we will see. Also, check out VALE. BTW-Coldsteele provided me with this pick so he gets the props when it rises!! Same sector-their earning come out next week. chart is decent as well. i like the March 36's. Also, if you could keep me updated on yo9ur thoughts on oil. I have trouble getting a read on oil movements as well as I can on some other stocks. Lastly, I still think silver will be my biggest income gainer for the year. Thoughts?
Did anyone else get on this I hope??

That's where I picked up a few more.
Avg is .69 now. i hope the chart and your prediction turn out. We will see soon enough. Nice to have you back BTW.
I'm in at .76.
Watch for CLF to continue to rise through earnings after the close on Wednesday. I believe it will see 100 plus.
Chart certainly points to oil going up. What do you think of the March 37 call on USO?
Ad, I'm liking the silver move. I picked up the April 30 calls about a week ago. They are cruising up slowly but surely. I believe silver will be a great money maker throughout the year but gonna have to watch out for the pullbacks. That's why I bout a few months out. Anyway here is my suggestion for the day. I like Bp march calls. Look at that slo sto.BP - Daily Candlesticks
Thanks AD. I have watched BIDU but haven't felt comfortable with it yet. Let me know when you are making a trade on it so I can follow and try to learn it. Watch CMI this week. MACD crossed at the bottom. Could have a few dollars to the upside to go.
Hey AD welcome back. I got those BA calls last week. I didn't base it on any big news but the chart was set up perfectly for one of its typical run-ups.
Options trading. i have only been trading options for about 6 months. Here is what I have learned.
1. Before attempting to trade options you must be able to read and understand charts--slo sto, macd, adx, trix accumulation, volume, and the moving averages. I really am a big fan of oversold stocks turning up on the slo sto daily chart. weekly and shorter term charts are important as well.
2. As AD says, pay attention to world news etc.
3. When looking to get in an option look at the call and put sides to see where the heaviest open interest and volume is. Dont just look at one month look at a few to look for consistency. The call side will give you your ceiling and the put the floor. Trade those ranges. Dont get greedy because when these ceilings and floors are hit heavy pressure will move it the other way.
4. Also, look at the implied volatility and historical volatility and the graph of where the option has been trading to see if you are getting a "good" price.
5. Play volatile stocks for shorter term trades but play slower movers like a CAT or DE for a little longer term. Don't get trapped by time. I like to buy at least 6-8 weeks out on most stocks. GE is a prime example of this.
I'm sure I have left out alot but those are my major things to be aware of. Good luck
Also, it is nice when you have a play you think is good to post it so we can all make money together!!

I like MGM. I am on the 17.50 and 19 calls for March.
Matt, I also was waiting for an entry into silver around the 25.50- range. Would you think that a 30 call option for april would be a good bet?
DBTB rising like crazy? Don't know why though. I forgot I even had this stock from 2009.
Not on it yet but will probably get in tomorrow if the price is right.
Anyone notice the march 19 calls on mgm today? Volume abnormally high?
Sold this morning. Will be back on it for the next ride when it is ready. More than doubled my money so I can't complain. right now I am on , MGM, CMI, MRVL, RF and CAT. All options, mostly March calls.
MGM is a powder keg ready to explode chartwise. Also, picked up some march 100 calls on CAT this morning on dip. Extremely good earnings and guidance. They may play with it for a week or so but i think 100 in March is probable. That's all I have for today so far. Oh ya go Ford!!
I pretty much only trade the options. So if I put a chart up I am recommending it for the options not necessarily long-term. That makes a huge difference on the selection process. Sorry for not making that clear. Have a great night and I hope tomorrow brings another good trading day!!
Breakout--I got in the calls on this one on Monday when the pps was about $5 less than where it is now. I think it will run to about 112-115 then have downward pressure from the puts. So, it does have a little more steam left but I would just wait for the next round on it. It does this every few weeks. I watch about 15-20 stocks and this is one of them. No particular reason other than it has predictable moves and is volatile enough to make some money on vs. some stocks that just trade sideways and are terrible for option trading.
Thanks Breakout. Dont forget CMI. Refer back to my earlier post on this one. Good luck and I hope Ford has great earnings Friday!!
Thanks, I'll try to keep them coming. I think it is up 6% now. The thing is fun to play with.
Hey AD, I've been around just haven't had a lot of good ones to post. Ford was my only big winner last month. Anyway, here is one more that I like alot. Play between 80-85 right now (open interest calls heavy at 85 open interest puts heavy at 80). tends to move quickly up and down. Great for trading. CLF - Daily Candlesticks
Here is an easy one guys. Slo sto just crossed. I have been waiting. Look at open interest on calls and puts to see where it will rise to. Obvious floor and ceiling.http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=cmi
Hey moan (coldsteele). Just checking in. Still holding cmi. And f. Just got done snorkeling. It was a blast. Looks like market doing alright but silver not so much. Ok see ya!
Thanks that's what I was getting at. I will have to check. I trade options and have a margin account on E-trade presently. Thanks again
