sdr. I myself looked at the conference call as VERY positive and I assumed all that heard it would have thought it to be very positive as well.
I also assumed that an appreciable number of shareholders were e-mailed the announcement of the cc as is the custom, and there would have been a healthy audience.
Having said that, I can't believe that the "market" reaction has meant less than $10,000 worth of shares now purchased and the share price now down.
I BOUGHT MORE TODAY AND I DON"T EVEN TRUST OUR MANAGEMENT!!!
What does it say about those who heard the conference call and STILL didn't feel confident enough to buy more shares at a price only .04 above the year's low???
Gil. The market "action" today seems to agree with Sentinel.
(not that you care of course)...
ButAnyway. Agreed.//
ButAnyway. Good point.//
OT...Test..nice board Matt..
marcos. What are you doing in jail?? (LOL)
marcus. You become more ridiculous with every post. Get off these boards and go find a life somewhere. Be it the light of day or pitch black nightfall.....you are still a loser.
marcos. My posting history doesn't have a trace of cowardice.
I too have little patience with the scared hens/longs on EDIG/ihub, but it was Matt who ultimately killed the board.
I'm done. Moving on. I'll check out ihub now about as often as I do RB...1-2x/week maybe...
IH Admin(Matt). Regardless of your motives or lack thereof, you have singlehandedly destroyed the ihub/EDIG board. Even RB is now more interesting and enlightening. Sad commentary.
BTW, I don't honestly believe that your fondness for apple or your affinity for consternation had any conscious effect on the board's destruction.
Assuming you didn't intentionally destroy it, perhaps this "accident" occurred as a result of one of your subconscious shortcomings in some other department.
Check out your moribund board now...it's very very sad.
You and you alone owe everyone an apology.
rstring....good catch..hmmmm..interesting..///
emit.hope you're even close to right.//
berge.(all just my humble opinion). EDIG management getting "almost $300K(in'97)for a product that only had total revenues of $600,000 in '97 was a steal AT THAT TIME " is representative of our existing management's history of bad decisions.
Let's face it. In 1997,EDIG management didn't have the brains/contacts to take JABRA to the next level. That includes not having the intelligence/contacts/savvy/relationships/financial acumen/cunning/imagination/ability to communicate the need for access to capital/cunning again/common sense/etc/etc to execute a plan that would make the product(JABRA)successful....What's changed???
EDIG management sold JABRA to a company that had the management and the access to capital that EDIG didn't have. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself. JABRA was a good idea, but was in the hands of bad EDIG management. Sound familiar for mOS??????
By your reasoning, FF/RP selling mOS(in 2003)for$4 mil(2x 2002 gross revenue)would be equally ingenious(what a steal for us?)....(not that $2mil in 2002 gross revenues could be attributable to mOS)
I'm sorry, but every time I see someone glorify the past stupidity of our existing management....it just makes me mad.
When are you people going to understand that NOTHING will happen until we have removed these bumbling blood sucking losers we have for a management team.
Why would we not be using the wedigmusic.com site to sell the Odyssey 1000? They still show the old odyssey 300, a product we make zero money on. I emailed the edig webmaster. Surely there's a good explanation....
sky56. Thank you. Agreed. Appreciate your contributions to this board. Always enjoy hearing your imput when I get the chance to check the boards.
50+. Great post. Thankyou.//
db24 I have spoken to RP on numerous occasions. This is not my sole outlet for discussion. I have grown toquestion RP's credibility and I definitely question FF's leadership abilities.
I'm still in because I am hopeful(very hopeful) that edig's cutting edge technology will survive our present management
db24. I don't want this board to turn into an RB either. My participation here is not motivated by an attempt to do so either(IMO)
Check out my last post on RB (to Longtooth) if you don't believe me. (I'm still jtdiii over there too) You'll see.
OT,Lawyerlong. There is no doubt in my mind that Tin was right about my own personal investment dates (97/98 vs 99) Quite a victory for him,
Lawyerlong.Agreed, but take away my devils and you take away my angels.//
doni. Good point. InMotion is now ready to go to the dance.
I love small, garage companies. I just don't think EDIG has the luxury of waiting til APS matures into an InMotion.
Was the APS PR really necessary without being able to announce something of substance?
Nothing beats a rags to riches story, and nothing is sadder than a premature failure.
Lawyerlong. Good Post. We ARE all in this together.//
PS to TINROAD....(NOT directed at you Lawyerlong).........
My 15th wedding anniversary is coming up on Jan 31. I love my wife dearly, but I have to do the math to come up with the "actual year" we were married. I've just never been any good with intermediate dates in my own personal life (and/or investing history for that matter).
This weakness of mine does not make me a dishonest person void of credibility. It doesn't mean I don't love my wife. It doesn't mean I don't care for the future of e.digital.
Tinroad, there is no room on this board for unrelated witchhunts. We ARE all in this together. If I see something not quite right on our road to profitability, I will speak up. (that's as close to Packer as I'll get).
Please don't try to villify my sincereity by trying to "expose" me using my own self professed chronological weaknesses. You should apologise to me and this board, sir.
Tenderloin. I had seen that awhile back. I think it's a good thing. Maybe they can find a partner with some muscle to carry out a meaningful and profitable business plan. Fingers crossed.
Lawyerlong. The only person trying to put investors into a tailspin is TorF. I for one despise her methods and her motivations.
Having said that, sometimes she unfortunately uncovers some cold hard facts.
Objective discussion of her verifiable findings is NOT meant to put investors in a tailspin. This stock is not for the weak of heart, nor is it for the naive.
Tinroad. My first buys were in the $1.25-$1.75 range I have the cusip numbers to prove it and if it wasn't in 1998, then okay.
I've probably made 15-20 purchases of edig over the last 4 years(and never sold) I only wish my avg share price was at $1.25. These buys are in multiple accounts, and I DO buy other stocks.
How far back did you go (1999??) to look for this post of mine. Whatever, Tinroad. It's a little lame to try and assasinate my character when my 4 year posting history indicates that I AM a true long. Enjoy your witchhunt to try and discredit me. You're barking up the wrong tree.
PS If I EVER have the inclination, I'll get out all of my cusip records with Schwab and Brown& CO to see what my buying prices were. If my years are wrong, I'm hardly surprised.
Lawyerlong. I am not a negative person. I simply do not look at each of edig's forays as equally promising. I'm in because I like the technology, but I am painfully aware that these guys can't really make too many more mistakes or they will quickly run out of shelf shares and cash to fix the problem
moxa. It's just common sense. Think about it, please.
If I said that I was mistaken. It was 1998. My bad. Why does that matter?
Lawyerlong. The company's ytd performance and verifiable lack of follow through on various fronts makes for it difficult for some open minded investors to maintain a steady, consistently positive opinion of company platforms.
DABOSS. I repeat. An uninspired, disaster seeking business model.(only IMO)
moxa1.. revenues at a HUGE operating loss, something e.digital knows alot about. Revenues are only good if you MAKE money.
moxa1. That would be a losing proposition...guaranteed. Once again, we would be going off half cocked on some sideline "maintenance servicing venture" that would have little to do with licensing..our core business model which we have yet to make successful.
PS Has anyone on this board ever run a successful business using their own start up capital?? If so, please give us your opinion of moxa's business model. I just don't see it ever being able to happen without mud in our faces.
Tinroad. So your instincts tell you we've finally got a winner here with APS, right?? Come on Tinroad.
CDR I had already read the article. Has NOTHING to do with EDIG. If it did, our IFE PR would have been with a real company who already had a relationship with Echostar and Delta, not a company run by an Alaska Air baggage handler. Geez... I think I'm getting sick.
moxa. That business model would have a small chance of working if there were some economies of scale, but would you really want the company to "ramp up" to become a service center for rented consumer handhelds? Makes no sense whatsoever. This IFE thing appears to be yet another edig disappointment waiting to happen.
Why don't you call APS yourself? See what you get. Ask if the President is still unloading cargo for Alaska Airlines. Ask why they weren't at the waea convention (practically across the street)
It's all VERY disheartening. And don't call me a basher, please. I'm looking for these guys to come through too, but I'm really tired of being fooled.
Tinroad. I hope I'm wrong, but all realistic indications appear that APS is not a real layer in the IFE market.
Is it presumptuous of me to be unconcerned that APS had no presence at all at the biggest IFE convention in the country(in Seattle no less) last September. See www.waea.com There were 160 other exhibitors there. Where was APS?
You read the Alaska Air article as positive. I don't see how you could read it that way, but that is certainly your take.
My take on our IFE efforts is that management has fallen prey to their propensity for selective omission. They've been very reticent about APS itself, not touting anything about it. Now we know why....and the reason ain't NDAs,bubba.
moxa1.. Go to towww.alaskasworld.com.. September issue. Go to the end of the interview/article.
Tinroad. With all due respect,sir...you don't "see a downside in all of this"??? You've got to be kidding?
Do we have another management credibility issue again?
Alaska Air isn't going to invest any capital. (now verified)
The baggage handler(now verified) doesn't have any cash.
Who's going to fund our IFE dream? 20th Century Fox? No way.
I'm going back to listen to the webcast again to try to snap myself out of this cloud of renewed distrust.
doni. And your point is??//
emit..Very,very nice. Thanks//
db24. You may well become a wealthy old rooster in a few years. Good luck to you and all true longs.
drhunt. There's no question that RP is a silky smooth communicator. Had he unplugged his phone(simultaneously short circuiting his affinity for misleading innuendo), he could have morphed into a magnificently successful VP/Sales, replacing Steve Ferguson, a shuffling, excuse ridden, unaggressive lightweight.(IMO)
I was ENORMOUSLY IMPRESSED by the webcast, and remain of the opinion that even this mediocre management team could not keep this technology of destiny from eventually making it to the forefront.I am not of the opinion that the sacrifices FF/RP may have made in the past give them a license to eternity.
(IMO)it would be in the best interests of the company for the selected members of the BOD to begin thinking about a search for an entirely new management team... once the burn rate can handle it.(don't worry,I won't post this same thought ad infinitum like the idiot Packers)
Fred Falk,(IMO)our overpaid and usually tongue tied leader has the stones to continually give us the "it didn't happen on my watch" shrug whenever the retailing debacle resurfaces. FF and JC should have been fired at the same time.(RP could have handled that SHM without turning it into a disaster)
Ran Furman,(IMO) our "deer in the headlights" CFO(ironically from Canada) should also be fired and held directly accountable for ignorantly contaminating this fragile little company with tainted financing resources from offshore shorting interests, and for engineering the poorly timed sales scheduling (of the albeit necessary shelf shares)
This company is ready for greatness.I WILL ADD TO MY POSITION AND BE A BIG TIME BUYER TOMORROW. Although I have all my original shares(idiot), I have felt no real reason to buy until now. The natural course of technological events is finally ready for OUR technology,in spite of our management.
Meanwhile, Fred and Robert finally stumble into a meaningful, forthright, sincere, one on one meeting with Sunpoop and D.inkie at CES and finally realize that maybe it's not such a bad idea to stop p*ssing on the shareholder's backs.
Sorry Fred,Ran,Robert,Steve..too little/too late... Loved the webcast. Loved the newfound straight talk... Have always loved the technology.. But I fail to see how any intelligent shareholder can now be sincerely comfortable and happy with your present management skills leading the charge from here on out.
The BOD should thoughtfully and quietly search for a new CEO,CFO,VP/Sales,and VP/IR... when a higher burn rate can be tolerated. In the long run,it would be better for the shareholders and the price per share........
I will now stop raining on the well deserved shareholder parade, let the sun come up, and slither off to make a little more mula.....As always, not trying to win any popularity contest, but nonetheless...long and strong.
PS.(and please,I beg you, just for once, can the old hens on this board refrain from the "Packeresque" monotony of... "why don't you just sell if you don't like the management")
