Was there a 15k share buy around an hour ago? That's pretty large...
Walmart/sam's distribution, coco protein, and most of combat crunch sales to date have all occurred in Q4. So, no I don't expect a blow out quarter in Q3 (which is historically their weakest quarter).
Not sure what you're missing when you keep saying they are declining sequentially each quarter. Look at last year. Q2 and Q3 were substantially weaker than Q4 FY13 and Q1 FY14.
Seasonality of sales is in fact a real issue that many companies face.
I think it all depends on the topline number, but I would say low end revenue would give 33% and high end revenue would give us 36%
Numbers that I am expecting to see today:
Revenue - $50 million
EPS - 10¢
Low-Ball Guess:
Revenue- $46 million
EPS - 3¢
High Range:
Revenue - $52 million
EPS - 20¢
Agree with you there. Think of 5 hour energy, red bull, etc (somewhat comparable products to MusclePharms new bars and RTDs). There are commercials all over TV for these products, which is part of the reason why they are multi-billion dollar per year products. MusclePharm has continually stated that their grassroots approach to advertising is their current focus, and I believe that is just fine (for now). They need to be able to significantly ramp up production and have their products readily available at convenience stores, grocery stores, etc. before they even think about spending millions of dollars on national TV campaigns.
What's the point of a Tiger Woods/Johnny Manziel commercial if the millions of consumers who watch the commerical can't get in their car, drive 5 minutes and purchase the product?
The only company that truly comes to mind in terms of scaling a multi-billion dollar consumer business from nothing without national advertising campaigns is Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Arnold, chady dunmore and jen selter are the only endorses that MusclePharm has that actually DO any promoting. Colin Kaepernick, Johnny Manziel, Tiger have done very minimal promotion of the brand...maybe just being able to say they endorse those athletes is enough of promotion? I don't believe so, but who knows.
Yes possibly. The past 2 quarters have been announced the week prior though.
They led me to believe a cc would happen prior to that date.
From speaking with IR, Nov 14th is the cutoff for them to release by. So nov 18th would not be my expectation.
Is it confirmed that dropz is actually happening? What about amino 1 RTD?
Wm Smith & Co. (a denver colorado research firm) has initiated MSLP at neutral with an $18 price target.

Agreed. Their CAGR as of 2Q is/was 76% Q2 YoY and roughly 100% for the 6 months ended June 30, 2014 YoY.
This high growth rate of sales is rare for a company of any size.
Today's volume is roughly average and the share price is holding up very well. This tells me that either there is no sense of panic among investors given Friday's filings, or that the filings were not read by most investors. I'm thinking most see them as a positive and therefore have elected to hold or buy any weakness in the share price.
Really, because the 32 serving container retails on MusclePharm's site for $29.99....$22.99 is not 70% off. I realize that they quote $75.98 on their site, but that is a marketing gimmick.
You do realize amino acids are extremely inexpensive to manufacture, right? I would not be 1 bit surprized if Musclepharm still makes a healthy margin selling at $22 with BOGO.
Or possibly they are liquidating inventory and introducing a new product. It is impossible to tell the reasoning. But to blindly make statements of fact that margins are eroding and their are "doing deals with the devil" everywhere is ludacris.
Every amino acid product on bodybuilding.com is "30%+ off"

MSLP is required to report earnings on or before November 14th (next friday). So we will have Q3 numbers and guidance by the end of next week.
I'll gladly buy your shares from you.
I believe that buying into any weakness that may occur tomorrow will look like a very good move about 6 months from now. I hope there is some weakness tomorrow, and I will be adding if so.
Looks like they are releasing yet another flavor of combat crunch. It must be because the other 2 flavors aren't selling well (sarcasm).
Well it's a good thing that as of June 30th, 2014 less that 10% of musclepharm's revenue came from bodybuilding.com (down from 30% of total revenue as of a year prior). I'm fine with bodybuilding.com becoming less and less of a factor of total sales. The combat bars are in smoothie king, vitamin shoppe, and GNC retail locations as well as countless other online retailers.
So I spoke with IR last night and here are the key take aways from yesterday's filings:
Issue #1:
-$1.3 million was converted from an asset to a professional fee because they are having trouble recouping the legal fees (for the SEC investigation) that they expected the insurance company to reimburse them for. This doesn't mean they won't collect. Simply means there is doubt as to whether or not they'll collect.
-As such, Q2. eps goes from +4¢ to -9¢. However, there is no restatement of revenues.
Issue #2:
- This is the first time that they have detailed the specifics of what the SEC was investigating. Roughly $100k of expenses by executives. These aren't necessarily things that weren't reimbursable as business expenses, they were simply expenses that receipts/proof of expense couldn't be provided for.
-As a result, the executives are voluntarily giving the money back to the company in an effort to conclude the investigation.
-All of these amendments/filings were put out at once in an effort to cooperate with the SEC and rectify the situation.
It was reiterated that yesterday's filings should be viewed as a positive to shareholders as the company gets closer to the end of the investigation.
I am still long over 4,000 shares, but I don't know how much more of this ineptitude I can take...accounting mishap after accounting mishap (and yes, I know how to be critical of my own investments as positive of a poster as I have been on this board). Re-evaluating how much longer I am going to hold onto this one.
Also, since we haven't had a PR giving a date for the Earnings release, I am assuming that it will be atleast Mid november before we see those results.
FYI Volume as of 11:30 EST is less than 800 shares...If someone is liquidating $20k worth of stock daily without swinging the price, kudos to them. I don't see that as being the case. The price fluctuations over the past month have been ridiculous from low $14s to high $11s and back (all on extremely low volume).
The volume here has been microscopic the past 2 weeks. Many days there haven't even been 20k shares traded...so I'm not sure how someone is dumping 20k shares every day.
What are you insinuating?

As long as Revenues continue to skyrocket, the investment thesis here remains intact ---> buying a company in "hyper growth" mode at roughly 1x ttm revenue (and considerably less than 1x FY15 revenue projections).
While the SEC investigation, OTC market etc. do not necessarily affect this thesis, they are still overhanging issues that I would like to see cleaned up ASAP.
Hopefully we get a PR next week that provides a date for the Q3 Conference Call.
They are doing all of those things. You need to go back and re-read the Q1 and Q2 conference call transcripts. They are going to manufacture internationally and they are growing extremely fast in the international markets:
Don Prosser from the Q2 14 Call:
I believe MSLP is sold in China:

See my post from August with the picture of the whole line:
I have yet to see any of these products for sale anywhere.

New Seeking Alpha Article:
This is an extremely in depth article focusing on branding, product lines, recent distribution developments etc. Definitely a good read for anyone new to MSLP and this board.
