GIVE IT A REST>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yeah, makes you wonder. BTW, thanks for your service.
Crowbar, think about this, why would they do away with Fannie/Freddie,who or what would fill that market? Why create another government entity to backstop the private loans made, when you already have the function fulfilled with FNMA/FMCC. The banks don't want to be originator and guarantor of all those loans. And if the government did go the fully private route, then you're just creating another too big to fail situation with the banks. Also the loans would still be backed by the FHFA or another or another agency created by the government. Why rebuild what you can simply restructure? Fannie and Freddie are here to stay, although they may merge the two. IMO, Good Luck Brother
Thanks, knew it closed early today, but wasn't sure about Friday. peace, GLTA
Thanks bro
Is the market closed just Thursday, or Friday too?
Even Motley Fool, not sounding quite so dismissive of Fannie and Freddie lately.
Looks pretty good today, good morning VET.
That gut cracks me up. go FNMA
RECYCLED OIL MONEY BUYING NOW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LOL
Yeah I know, I've seen it on here before,it's just stupid.
Not under current constraints they're not. I want as much as anyone here for this to get released, and go up.But under the conservatorship it doesn't yet mean anything. Granted the case is getting stronger for shareholders, but...
Where do you get your info ?
All stakeholders, sure sounds that way to me.
Your posts are always articulate and thoughtful. Thanks for your contributions to this board.
Go FNMA
Thanks for the updates Ob. Go Fannie !
Thanks, Go FNMA
Cool, thanks bro, at work on iPhone app.
Did Watt, shed any light on fate of FnF? Can't find any coverage, murder trial on every channel I check. Thanks
See you Hubbers manana.
Better
Exactly, that's why I'm not going anywhere. Bought @ .80,.87.1.40 and some @ 2.75. I bought this for a long and am not changing my initial strategy. Like someone else said i'm not good enough of a trader to flip in and out and make money. Good on those who can,but I'm happy with my research
and buys. GLTA
Why Fannie and Freddie aren't going away. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/home-front/2013/02/05/why-fannie-and-freddie-arent-going-away-anytime-soon
Read this, then decide if you think FnF will be going away. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/home-front/2013/04/02/do-record-profits-mean-an-end-to-fannie-mae-conservatorship
Thanks
Based on what ?
Sorry as well, hope your next pick is a huge winner for you.
Yep,I agree, learned to take profits on the way up. At least get your principal out then it's all profit.
Yep,gotta feel bad for that woman that sold and lost 50K though.
Some air left in the hull,we're popping back up.
300K sold @ 1.06 WOW !
You bought @ 1.37 and sold @ 1.30 ??
It doesn't make any sense to create new institutions to loan and underwrite the nearly 5 trillion dollars that FnF currently hold. If or when the next crisis happens, bail out the GSE's or bail out the newly created structures. What's the difference? > FNMA/FMCC will emerge from this very much as they are now. IMO
Huge buys
Agree
We've got some volume and action back, for those who were bored with the consolidation. ; - )
Great point ! As I've been saying, the GSE's will come out of this crisis much as they were.
They filled a need, bail out the GSE's or bail out the banks, what's the difference? Besides
the banks took on loans that they knew would probably default and flipped them to FnF.
We could debate who's fault that is,but the fact is, the banks made all the interest up front and
then sold them off. The lenders were relaxing the lending requirements because they were making
money. And we ended up bailing out not only banks but their insurers, like AIG. Nothing really changed in the structure of those companies,so why should FnF.
Why so many are scared that these GSE's are going away, I don't understand. They also said there would be banking reform, the truth is for all the bluster on the capitol, not much ever changes.
Fannie were created to fulfill a need, and will remain. IMHO
People can see it,and know this, that's exactly why they will not "wind down" FNMA,FMCC. IMO they will emerge much as they are now, private with some sort of government backstop.
