Interesting, but nothing new. Calypso will not be able to compete in that particular space because big names are already all over that.
I understand what you are saying, but I think you are missing the point with all due respect. Kodak has not been a company all this time by just being a third party provider of products. Obviously, when companies grow they offload some work to other companies, and I understand that RV Tec and HTC are OEM's...but my point is if Calypso is just going to sell products that they "order" from them then why do we even need Calypso to exist? Calypso's only chance is through ASNAP...anyone that thinks anything else is disillusioned, in my opinion.
asnap is right, though. His statement, If they build it they will come is true...they just haven't built anything, so no one is coming!
Exactly bbaazzuurraahh! This is exactly my point about the need for Calypso Wireless if they aren't selling ASNAP. They aren't a manufacturer, so why would anyone just purchase a phone through Calypso Wireless that they could just get directly from someone else? It seems as though Calypso is purchasing phones from whatever company and claiming to be demoing something, but what is it if not ASNAP? They seem to be demoing someone else's phones that do things already out there. Perhaps this is why they aren't getting any deals??? Are they pretending to be the manufacturer of these phones that they have ordered from somewhere else?????????????? What business is Calypso Wireless in if it's not ASNAP?
I think we need to really think about why Robert Leon may have quit at this point more than what we have. Why would he quit if ASNAP worked? I'm totally speculating here, but I am wondering if Robert Leon really thought he could develop this ASNAP technology, all of these other people offered to help him, but all the other people are concerned about just keeping the "business" alive because they are making a killing off of it...all while the developer of the actual technology has decided to call it quits and is separating himself from the company.
So, without ASNAP, what business is Calypso Wireless really in?
Interesting you say that. Posters were saying the same thing a year or two ago when they flooded the market with supposed "field trials"...the thought was that at least one would bite. Truth is, not another word has been said about them.
Does anyone even listen to you anymore?
Well, you're certainly not going to buy much with $5 million. My question is why buy another company with the $5 million and not fund your operation to get your ASNAP phones manufactured? Is this just a way to spend this money without doing anything? They get the funding they've been saying they need, and they are going to "buy" another company with it?????????????????????? It doesn't make any sense. The SEC may need to be called on this earlier that I expected.
Your paychecks are ready...
nlightn,
You have "hot" mail...
stitch surfs, you are not saying anything we haven't already hashed out here over and over...things basically do not add up with Calypso Wireless, and frankly it's time for them to provide some answers. I think people have been overly patient and nice, but it's now put up or shut up time and the SEC may need to be involved very soon.
I have a hard time understanding why Calypso has been so isolated myself. It seems as though every other company working in this space has teamed up with multiple other companies.
stitch surfs,
I would give up now. Your intelligence level is way beyond what most here can fathom. It's like trying to get through a brick wall with a stitch of grass.
Here is what the law states on whether Leon has to file or not (keep in mind that when it refers to section 16, this is referring to filing Form 4's, etc) I take this to say that he is required to file ONLY up to six months after acquiring shares. So, if he acquired these shares more than six months ago he would not have to file, or he can stop filing once he gets beyond that six month time frame:
"A transaction(s) following the cessation of director or officer status shall be subject to section 16 of the Act only if :
Executed within a period of less than six months of an opposite transaction subject to section 16(b) of the Act that occurred while that person was a director or officer.
Not otherwise exempted form section 16(b) of the Act pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
Note to Paragraph (b): For the purposes of this paragraph, an acquisition and a disposition each shall be an opposite transaction with respect to the other."
Well, with the stock price the way it is and the fact that he is selling equal amounts over a long extended time period there doesn't appear to be anything illegal going on with his selling. Illegal activity is more like what Martha Stewart did...dump all of her shares the night before a big announcement was made that caused the share price to drop dramatically and she knew that the announcement was going to be made that next day...that's illegal activity.
Robert Leon has to sell his shares in this fashion so as not to ignite panic and so as not to bring the share price tumbling down all at once. Also, him resigning and dumping all his shares all at once would bring much more unwanted scrutiny against Calypso Wireless. I would expect to see him continue selling at a measured pace as long as the share price stays somewhat steady.
tenac,
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe Robert Leon's shares will still be classified as "insider shares" since he acquired them while he was an insider. Now, later, if he was to acquire more shares he likely would not have to register those.
Amen. It doesn't bother me, though, to be put on ignore because my message is for anyone reading this board that might not understand how things like this go down in the real world. It's obvious that the "pumpers" on this board have their naive minds made up that there is nothing wrong here, so I'm glad they might put me on ignore so I don't have to worry about what they might have to say back to what I say. So, it's all good. I for one do not like to ignore anything because you learn things even through people who are misguided. Censorship is for people who don't want to know reality and truth.
Yet, George was in charge of public relations during all that time...hmmmmmmmmm.
Oh, yeah. George can be trusted...yeah, right. He's the one that has been handling all the information coming from this company and now he's CEO. I feel much better.
The phones they supposedly are offering do not work with CDMA, however. There is no mention of CDMA in any of their press releases.
I miss his chart analysis. :(
Yes, apparently he's been working on this for many years now. As I've said before, it looks like it's not working since Calypso has yet to demonstrate it to anyone so I think perhaps he got tired of working on it and he probably got tired of the environment at Calypso too so he said, "I'm outta here."
I remember some on this board speculating that Motorola had tried to buy out Calypso...but, that is all it was speculation.
Plaintiff,
I said the reason I was interested in your mathematics background is because I also have a background in mathematics (mathematics education).
Very nice. I was curious about your background because mine is in the area of mathematics education.
Can someone please ask plaintiff what his background is in mathematics? He may have me on ignore. I'm just curious.
There is nothing in the public filings regarding this. However, they wouldn't be required to file it either.
I wonder if Robert Leon left Motorola to work on this ASNAP technology thinking he was going to strike it rich? Maybe he was tired of working on all these patents only to hand them off to the corporation he worked for. Now, after working on it for years, perhaps it's not working so he's quitting or maybe he's getting out of the environment he was in...who knows.
Well, it took Calypso about four years to receive their first patent. They filed for it in 2000.
plaintiff,
I'm curious...what is your background in mathematics?
...and just keep in mind the patent only deals with the United States...
You know, really, I would love to see Calypso Wireless follow through with something too. I'm getting tired of my own negativity, but they just haven't given me anything positive to go on.
I'm still waiting to go into action when they either begin to say "we anticipate shipping of products in the fourth quarter, 2006" or when they report nil revenues for this upcoming fourth quarter after making it seem as though they were going to be shipping hundreds of thousands of phones...I will not sit back for a fourth year and allow this same game to be played out without calling them out.
Why is George Schilling not listed as a team member on their website? I notice they have taken Robert Leon off, but no George Schilling...don't be shy George!
We need some information about you.
Exactly. Now compare it with Calypso's phone.
Davila is a fairly common name in the "Spanish world". That would be close to thinking that two people by the name of Smith might be related...but you never know. :)
Check out Motorola's MPx phones.
droy24, look back at all the trials they announced in 2003 and 2004...care to comment on that?
Calypso is not big enough to battle with these giants. They can't even get funding to carry them through the very first stages of this gig...They are announcing all these demos and field trials with companies that really don't matter while everyone else is REALLY working on this solution and teaming up with big names. Who is Calypso Wireless working with? Why are they so isolated?
Thanks for the nice summary of our board.
Thought I would include some Wi-Fi phone articles in our discussion:
