Disco, my friend.
What in their past history led you to believe that we would have heard something on the Farm Credit loan facility? Because they stated a specific date? Come on now, you're smarter than that. :)
Yeah, this is as you say, a very no guts no glory story. Unfortunately, because of the stress level with this one, my gut is really growing to much.
In all fairness, these loans never close in specified times. Always something coming up to delay. And if Farm Credit has said no, they've probably given FEED a certain amount of time to get financing elsewhere. Which may then coinside with the restatements, as no other lender will lend without true & accurate financials. Farm Credit at least knows their story.
Maybe we should all meet up together on FEEDs front lawn, hold hands in a circle and start to chant. Maybe that will freak them out and get them release.
Was it Presidents Day? When most businesses were closed.
Just kidding. Trying to keep things light.
When I spoke with the person in Ames, it really sounded like they were no longer in charge. He said he had nothing that he could report, and that the decisions were out of Tenn.
Agree, with so many changes, even most of them probably don't know where the company stands or where the people are who make the decisions.
He did say with Van traveling so much, there really wasn't an office that he actually was working from. Much of the time it was from home, when he was in the US. Not sure if I believe that, but I know he was going to give me his home address either. HA...
I asked specifically on where Van was stationed because I and many others wanted to visit and discuss things. He said it wasn't Aimes, and that would be Hendersonville.
3 more long days I guess.
Really wouldn't be surprised on an extension with the credit facility decision either. With the way financial institutions are underwriting things these days, it's a wonder anything gets done.
Mr B,
I spoke with a gentleman from Aimes about 3 weeks back. Thought I'd call one of the outposts and see if I could talk to someone. Can't remember his name, but he said everything was running as normal, as I expected he would.
He did say Henderson was still the HQ, so don't know why it is being reported as closed. He said Van was over in China, and that he would pass along my messages to whomever, and hopefully I'd get a reply.
As you can imagine, no reply. But again, he did say Henderson was still open and HQ. And I'm also thinking, if Van was over in China working on things there, then he must have faith that things are working out fine over here with all the mess. Or maybe he's just finding a place to live, just in case all hell breaks loose here.
Welcome back Mr B. I hope your trip went well.
Appreciate your take on the happenings.
Yes, it is definitely in their best interest to make things work out and get this thing turned around nicely. All I got to say is, they'd better not just be trying to set themselves up to where the company is sold, they transfer to the new group and keep all their options. And the rest of us are left with nothing.
If that is their goal, then they will be sadly mistaken. They too, will pay a price, one way or another.
Like you said, we should know more in about 10 days. I too, think this is a more important date than the end of march restatements. Most likely we won't get to the latter if they can't make something happen by end of Feb. with the credit facility or new financing option.
When they announced the two separate dates, it gave me a real case of the willies.
Well gang, we got a report and maybe someone can paint it in a good light. I certainly can't. Worst possible scenario in my mind, next to them coming out and claiming they have no monies to continue as a company. Claiming BK, wiping us all out.
Please, I'm open to any different interpretations. Any that will get me thru this day. It's not going to be easy. My blood is boiling over right now.
Rooster,
I spoke with Mike about 2 months +/- ago. Of course not much he could share.
Mainly that he is in contact with Ivan on a fairly reg basis, and he basically stated Ivan is just as ticked off that this is all taking as long as it is. That Ivan is very eager to get this ball cleaned up and put back in play. (my words)
I asked him if it could just be the audit firm trying to delay and rape the company for all it's worth and then discarding it. He stated no way that is the case. The firm is very reputable.
It did sound like something else had come up that they were working on too. Just my feeling of the conversation, could be totally wrong.
Mike had no idea as to when we would be good to go, at least he wasn't able to disclose even if he did know.
Mike also said they too are very anxious for this to be finalized so they could then start their part of the turn-around. He sounded very excited actually. I got the feeling he thinks the "new" numbers are going to be good, again just my gut and maybe me just reading to much into things.
Very nice gent, and he said to call anytime if I have further questions.
Guess we'll see someday. Just hope it's in my lifetime. :)
This cowboy hasn't heard anything. That "contact us" site hasn't worked on any of my computers for 8-9 months. Have left voice messages many times past few months but nothing. I take that back, Ivan did call about 3 months back but I was in a meeting and couldn't take call. # he called on you couldn't get back thru to anyone. At least he called I guess.
Agree wholeheartedly, this is now at the complete rediculous stage. Heck, just a simple "were sorry, but things are taking a while longer than anticipated, additional matters had/have to be taken care of before restatements" type of comment would suffice for me right now.
I'm guessing there has to be something else in play going on and they are trying to bundle it all together for one release. NO WAY all this delay is just related to the audit and restatements. Audits were completed in Jan '12. Don't know how that would benefit anyone, but what do I know.
NO SHT!!!!!!!!
Rooster,
Guess you haven't seem some of my other duzzy picks of the past, then. ha:) Overall more winners than losers, but a big ouch on a couple losers. I'm still thinking positive that this one kills it and makes me forget the others. Actually may be good to remember the bad, so I don't make the same mistakes again.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
Hey Mr. B,
I think the facebook page is pretty much like the company site. Dead. I posted there a few times and nothing from anyone, anywhere. Not even the company updates it.
Looks like we're on our own on this one. So many different scenarios can end up playing out on this one. I think we know nothing is going to happen this year now, so hopefully like you said, January to be the rocket ship.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a very safe Holiday Season.
But who is selling? For every share bought, one has to be sold. Why would anyone sell at these prices? If they are selling for tax reasons and are going to try to buy back in after 30 days, I'm thinking they may have missed that boat. If things do get released, and I know that is a big "if", then this could shoot up a buck or two within a couple days. They should have done it back in Nov if that was their plan.
To each their own, but I just don't get it.
For a long time, I always got responses back from the "contact us" site via email. Then for some reason, and it may be something blocking from my computer, but for months now I am able to get thru the security message and then get reply that I need to verify link in email sent to me but no email ever comes.
I called and left a message at company hq, and Mr Gothner called about 2 weeks later, but unfortunately I was in a meeting and couldn't take call. I tried calling back, but the number wouldn't allow for calls. Don't know why. Haven't heard back from him.
This latest time, which was my first, I called to IR listed on website and spoke with Mike for about 15-20 mins. He was as informative as I expected him to be, very limited, but at least he sees a future, hopefully soon too.
I brought up many of the concerns that have been mentioned here along with other boards I follow, and he understands and validated that they were very good points. He said he knows mgt is working diligently to correct everything, and that they too understand our concerns and are very frustrated. Of course he couldn't directly answer any of them in detail or at all in most cases. Again wasn't thinking he'd be able to.
He said to call him back anytime to discuss things. Very nice, but that's part of their job too. :)
At least was able speak with a live body, someone to vent to.
Great day to all.
No kidding it better happen soon. I spoke with IR yesterday, and they said the company is working very diligently on getting all this taken care of moving on. That they too are extremely frustrated with how long this has/is taking. Little things have just kept coming up that were unforeseen that had to be taken care of also.
We discussed other issues, but as expected really couldn't go into details or didn't know the answers too.
He had spoken to Mr Gothner many, many times and does believe him to be on the up and up, a very straight shooter.
Bottom line though, he had no clue as to when any of the above is going to take place. He too, is waiting so he can then start on working on helping to drive shareholder value up here.
I'm guessing we'll all just wake up one day and celebrate, or go back to bed and pull the covers over our heads.
Regards.
Can't speak for anyone else, but yes, I have "really" been buying shares. Probably more than I should have, but heck you only live once. I haven't bought any in apprx a month though.
Now if the company can just hold up their end and come thru soon, I may have a very relaxing next few years.
I'd take $5 and move along, every day of the week right now. Of course, if things look real nice when all is reported and back relisted, and the future guidance is what I think/hope it could be, I'd also be very comfortable holding this for a few years. Get rich, retire.
Selling a few shares along the way I might add. Can't get to greedy.
Great day to all.
From your finger tips to God's ears. :) Hopefully he'll then send a message down to Ivan to hurry the heck up. They're probably wanting some nice pulled pork sandwiches up there too.
Agree Mr B,
No it won't make a big difference in the long run.
However, I'd just like to know "why" they are recieving the shares. They are receiving a salary for their work. Other than Mr. Gothner who was working almost free since January until his "retroactive" salary was given. Based on superior results, we can only guess or imagine since they have delayed the restatements, updates, etc.
As I've said many times, I have no problem with them getting bonuses, if they've done what they were hired to do. If they haven't then why should they get bonus shares?
And of course none of this will be know till the updates.
Sorry to all for beating this dead horse, but am just frustrated as I'm sure many are. So I won't bring this issue up any more, doesn't do any good. It is what it is.
GLTA and a great day to everyone.
Wow, don't remember that one at all. Thanks much.
Let's just hope they don't try to sell any of the remaining shares at today's price. Hold 'till it's back up before trying to raise the additional cash for expansion.
Maybe leave a few extra for down the road for a nice 2-1 split, if this looks like it's going to be a big winner.
Thanks again for the info. Had no clue on that one.
The board is alive. Yippeeeeee. JK.
Hey Slap, hope all is well.
Question for the board, where are these shares coming from? I don't think the treasury had this many to give out.
I don't remember any vote as to increasing share count.
What is the true number of shares outstanding?
Just trying to calculate the dilution.
So far, the only benefit has gone to the board, with no knowledge to the shareholders. A huge leap of faith. Not that we can do much about it. At least not yet.
Gotta keep saying it's gonna get better, over and over, and hope it comes true.
Great day to all.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. Just as suspected, looks like they are trying to get their whole mgt team their shares before they announce anything meaningful.
They'd just better not come out with lousy restatements, lousy current update, and lousy future guidance after giving this many shares away.
Like I've said before, I don't begrudge anyone anything, if they "earn" it. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.
**Speaking of pudding, I still love that line in Dinner for Schmucks, "ok, you can eat my pudding". LOL, hilarious.
Anyways, you're definitley right Mr B., they do have a major incentive. But free shares are free shares and they will make a heck of a lot of money even if the shares only trade at a dollar. Not bad for a year or two of work.
Plus this might be another good reason as to why they won't do a reverse split anytime soon. It would ruin their shares.
Maybe this is what my bones were feeling on my earlier post. Hopefully not. :)
Great day to all.
Me bones are starting to tell me somethings up. News is about to come out. I can feel it. Another chill just hit me as I type.
Unfortunately, the bone's aint telling me what that news is or if good or bad. :)
We know what we're waiting for, but which way will the stock fly after we get the news?
North to Santa which will bring us a very nice Christmas, or south for the winter, which will give us a 6 month hibernation period while the farms and company get fully back on it's feet and new farms are producing huge gains?
Either plans work fine, as I will be holding long term, but it would be much more enjoyable if the first scenario happened. I'd prob sell a little just so I could take advantage of another play.
But I just want some news, this is killing me with anticipation. See if Ivan has really pulled this off.
Would love this board to get busy again with conversations.
Great day to all.
Just read an article last week that showed how the harvest this year wasn't as bad as they originally thought. That the price of corn was minipulated higher. The overall corn crop was the 8th best on record. Yes, there was a lot of damage but they planted record levels of acres of corn than ever before. So the overall yeild was good.
Speculators caused the price to go higher, not the actual yield. At least thats what the article said. Which I would'nt put past sc* m speculators. They do it with most commodities. Create fear, then make a killing on it.
Corn prices have dropped quite a bit over the past couple months because of the actual harvest being so good.
Hopefully FEED is smart this time around and lock in prices for the long term, take advantage of it, don't play the spot game.
Anyways, I wrote a half positive/half frustrated negative email to the company regarding the new salary/perks for Mr Gothner. Wonder how long if ever I'll get a reply. My last 4-5 haven't been responded too, and they were very positive emails.
Great day to all.
Agree Web.
Also, did you just see the recently released comp package for Mr Gothner? Wow, not bad at all for him.
I'd like to have seen some actual release of the restatements and plans for the relisting, along with progress on the WS farms in China before hearing about this comp package. Is what it is I guess.
After what this company went thru first time around with the Board's fraud and raping the shareholders of the monies, I think it would have been more responsible and most likely would be received better by the shareholders.
Not saying it's deja vu, but...perception is important on this one.
Most likely all is moving forward nicely, and I pray it is. I have quite a bit invested here.
Props to Mr Gothner if all is good and he will deserve what he gets. I'm sure the other board members are in for a nice piece of the pie too. How much do they get?
Me, I'm wondering what were going to get and when?
Things should be happening soon.
Great day to all.
Rooster,
Maybe the run-up last week was just a test. A test to see if our hearts can take excitement when this makes its true run very soon.
Otherwise, some may have heart attacks and not ever get to enjoy what we've all been waiting for.
This pullback certainly put a damper on things. Like I said above, maybe it was just a test, or maybe it was just some idjits playing games. Buying a bunch, getting more and more to jump on high and then sell the heck out of their shares. And they're probably buying back all the shares they sold plus shares of the one's who got scared and sold,
Oh well, can't wait for the real fun to happen. Pullback was actually a blessing and picked up a few more shares. Wasn't going to sell the others for awhile so these games mean nothing to me.
About a week before the momentum starts to build for good, I believe. Wish the news from last week would have been better, would have been a great catalyst for next week, but oh well.
Am very curious to hear Mr Gothners next conf call to clear up a lot of the uncertainty. Especially the Hormel issue and also the "dividend" issue. What info can they share as to why this was really done? When can we start really making monies in China? And what did they mean when they said they pulled back on some of the farms in China. Not the new ones I don't believe.
Anyways, enjoy this calmness, I'll bet you'll be excited enough coming soon.
Great day to all.
Don't read this the wrong way Web, but I like it when you talk dirty like this. :)
No kidding. Probably just some day traders trying to get the better of each other, and also scare out a few shares from the weak of heart.
Everyone should just hold strong and let them play their game, and we will win in the end.
Great day to all.
Constantly. Their new set up is pathetic and a royal pain in the ***. Past 2 weeks have been terrible trying to post. I think I've figured it out, at least what works for me.
Most of the time it says I have to log in to post, and provides the log in window, so I do and it just stays blank.
What I do now is go back to my yahoo mail, log in completely using full email address, leave that window open and then come back to the finance page. It seems to work, unless it's just coinsidence.
Hope it helps.
When things are working fine, why do all these sites have to mess with it and try something new? Not much to a message board, they don't need all the bells and whistles, just a place to type up a message and/or reply. Pretty simple if you ask me.
I've sent yahoo a number of complaints where they are asking for input. Doubt if anyone is looking at them.
Great day to all.
Hey Slap,
I bought and sold a number of shares of this 3x's a few months back. No problem selling at all. I think I got sell confirmations quicker than I got buy confs.
However, my goal was to increase shares, knowing (guessing) that the huge upswing was still months away. I didn't want to take a chance and sell and then not be able to get back in. It's been one of the few times where I got lucky and everything turned up great on the trades.
Today, no way I take a chance. With the announcements coming in days or couple weeks, things are going to happen to quickly. I'd just shoot myself if I got burned and couldn't get back in. I just don't see the risk/reward value in trying to trade it right, if a persons goal is to have a long term position on this stock.
For daytraders, it could still hold some value doing it, but it's not right for me now.
Just my two cents worth.
Great day to all.
Daytraders taking their profits. It's to be expected. I did it a few times back when it was trading between .22-.30. Made a very nice addition to my share count. No way I'd be doing it now for my personal plan on this one. It's moving to fast and I plan on holding for some time now. I was able to do it during the dead period, when no one knew what the heck was going to happen.
Hopefully everyone is keen to it and no one gets scared and sells their shares. Don't let the daytraders back in once they sell. Everyone hold strongly and we will all be rewarded handsomely.
Most likely end of day we will be in the .80's
Just my take.
Great day to all.
Yeah, that's a few miles or should I say kilometers closer than me. Moved to San Jose, California in '65 been here ever since. Someday I'll be gone out of this soon to be pathetic state. To few working and earning monies to pay for all the freebies they're giving to those who aren't.
Very bitter-sweet Dec 19th for you. But in the end, nothing trumps the birth of your first. Congrats. I've got 3 adult daughters, with 2 grand daughters, and a freshly baked 2 month old grand son.
Good luck to you and your investment here. I hope it pays off handsomely so you can put a little college fund away.
Great day to all.
Disco, how was Ireland. That's really the only place on my "bucket list" that I have to visit. See where the family started the chain.
"in the profit" is a statement I hope to keep seeing by many here over the next few days/weeks/months. A shame to have had to go thru it, but the strong have survived. Very unfortunate to those who gave up or had to give up.
I know we're not out of the woods yet, but it's looking dang promising.
I'm lookinf forward to sending Mr Gothner a nice bottle of bubbly if he's able to pull this off and turn it all around. Might even fly out and thank him personally.
Great day to all.
A huge congrats.
Unfortunately, for me, the majority of shares were purchased 3-8 months ago. Timewise that is. Was able to average way down, also. Maybe it's a blessing cause it will force me into holding for the full year and by then if all goes to plan, at least my plan :) the price should/will be much higher.
I really didn't want to sell this year anyways, I'd like to play with the winnings for awhile next year before paying the gov.
Great day to all.
And to think, the buyers of those shares could have gotten 2-2.5 x's that many shares just a short couple weeks ago. Still think they're getting a steal. But if they were jumping in this much right now, they had to have know what was coming. Missed opportunity, but again, they're still getting a steal and should make a very nice profit down the road.
Will take a look. Thx.
I've been also trading some shares of DRYS. You talk about a frustrating stock!!!! I've made some decent money on the "trading shares", but am upside down on a good chunk of shares that I'm holding long term. No worries it will come back, just when. It's definitely not one for the faint of heart. But as for a long term play, I think a huge winner over the next 5 years. This is another one that I will be investing in large "if" FEED comes thru.
I like to play with "low cost" stocks, that have very good volume to make it easy to get in and out of. Feed not withstanding. Companies that are actually very nice companies but just beaten down for one reason or another. Maybe it's what everyone is looking for.
Good luck. I'll keep all limbs crossed that we hit "up" another buck so you can be back to breakeven, and then continue the lift-off!!!!!!
Me, I've done a lot of share adding these past few months. I'm only a few pennies away from breakeven. Two accts, one at .61 and one at .63 on breakeven.
Great day to all.
Mornin Slap,
Understand the frustrations with alu. I know you've been playin that one a lot longer than I have. Only been in it a short while. Have traded a few shares with a little profit and am holding a few shares.
Like you said, I too am very excited on this one. Maybe a little more than you, but each of us have our own levels of excitement, pessimism, uncertainty, right? All is good.
If this one takes off pretty good though, I will probably still sell some and take a large position in alu. I may do some swing trading with it for the short term, seems to be playing in a decent range on the cheap. Can get a lot of shares, and many shares are trading a day, so could be some nice opportunities.
If I could double my doing it, then I'd go ahead and just hold long term.
Play with the houses money is my goal.
This one's the key though, so it's gotta pull thru.
Great day to all.
The three stages of FEED:
Current: Stairs
Next couple weeks: Escalator
End of month and beyong: Elevator to the top baby.
*All going up, too.
A great weekend to all. Would have been a nice close to have ended at or above the .50. In due time.
Slap, you funny, funny, man.
Yeah, I'll be selling prob half much before that, though. Let the other half ride. I could then take the "winnings" buy a ton of alu on the cheap and let it ride. I think it would most likely be able to double/triple from where it is now than for feed to double from 8 to 16.
Then if it went to 16 sell the rest and split it all up among a bunch of other driven down stocks in driven down sectors.
This one is definitely getting interesting.
Good luck to all
Mr B.
That $16 sure looks like a nice number. :)
I've only been in following this from the 6's, didn't buy my initial till the mid 2's though.
Question, if you were around back in the 16-20's days: How many shares were there at that time, and what were the "NUMBERS" they were putting out there? Revenues, margins, profits, projections, etc. How many hogs would need to be sold, plus other facets of the company's bottom line.
Just trying to see what kind of "real" numbers they would have to generate to get us back to those good 'ol days.
That $16 would sit quite well with many here I'm sure.
If you weren't around, and anyone else was, please feel free to interject also.
Roll them good in Vegas.
Sherm
Ditto that sentiment to all.
