Total agree. Roughly 95% of the current alts will become close to worthless in due time. One thing I don't like about the current bounce involves the crap rising as well. I'm leaning towards an eventual break of 3k, but I could be wrong. I prefer my chances with the common of FNMA.
I was using Bitfinex at the time, but they will not accept U.S. customers. Kraken is a decent platform that allows short selling. I would be VERY cautious about shorting the beast known at Bitcoin though. I can't say it's seen it's lows for this cycle, but I suspect it will be significantly higher 2+ years from now.
NO, you could short BTC for several years now. I got involved in 2013 and I was able to short at that time.
Ran a hedge fund through the 90s. Yeah, I consider myself to be FAIRLY skilled at finding solid edges and favorable risk vs. reward plays.
No, the talk is exactly what's needed, and the momentum is finally moving in our favor.
We finally have some traction folks and I suspect everyone will be pleased over the coming months.
LOL, I was going to post the document, but I see Long already shared the good news. This news is VERY encouraging folks....
Someone (I have no idea why?) trie to drop QRM just after 4 pm day after day...... What a pathetic soul..... Criminal if you ask me....
End of year tax loss selling should be over and I hope this is the start of a new mega trend. Huge volume coming in this morning is a very encouraging sign. Ever notice the criminal MM drops the stock on 100 shares. This could follow a 10k buy on the ask. Criminal, but I hope volume returns and buyers flood the MM.....
Happy Thanksgiving to who ever sold them........
Anyone wish to sell me some April 2.50 Calls? That will give you 25% of the current stock price. I have a bid for 90 at .10 at the moment.....
I'm watching the manipulator add and remove the 20k share block. Certainly trying to influence the stock down. He has pulled the order multiple times on any buying....... Pathetic practice as he simply wishes to buy shares on the cheap. That's the only reason to do that as there is almost zero short interest on qrm.
Yes, I think MCP has caused more harm vs good to the ree industry, however the investing public is starting to wake up to the differences between LREE & HREE.
Yes, I know the company is working incredibly hard to nail down some partnerships. This thing could double in a day on any kind of positive news.
Look at the trades at 12:37 today..... 23k shares at.64 and .65 and the MM (criminals) drop it to .63 on 100 shares...... That's laughable and pathetic.
Again, some idiot showing 20k shares at the ask. Manipulation is the ONLY purpose for this kind of ignorance.
Awesome..... I think I did my part yesterday, but I would be happy to buy more in the .50s if selling continues.
Yes indeed.......
In due time, but I'm a long term holder who will simply average in with time.
On the bid that is.....
The buyer is being discreet with keeping a small lot on the ask. Clearly the buyer doesn't wish to show his hand. Unlike the seller who is attempting to push the sp down without a doubt.
Again, someone put 24k shares on the ask and luckily they are getting bought at the ask. Who in the H is trying to push the price down. NOBODY in their right mind would want potential buyers to see that large number at the ask? I hope the seller gets his arse handed to him!
I agree...... Nothing new stated in the PR and it shows how serious they are about moving forward! The capex numbers have been out for several days now?
Institutions aren't this sloppy when they sell. They don't put 10k on the ask, unless they are intentionally trying to drive down the price. They know they can create a mini panic and cause weak retail to sell.
Go for it!
Ok, down to a .77 average share price now....lol I'm done buying for now
Looks like reasonably good news to me:
Moving along as planned......
Becancour, Quebec to Be Home for Quest's Future Rare Earth Processing Complex

9:04 AM ET 11/5/13 | Marketwire
Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. (TSX: QRM)(NYSE MKT: QRM) is pleased to announce that further to the recent release of a comprehensive pre-feasibility study (PFS) for its Strange Lake B-Zone rare earth integrated mining and processing project, it has selected Becancour Industrial Park as the home for Quest's future hydrometallurgical plant. The planned $1.3 billion complex is expected to employ more than 500 Quebecers during the construction phase and create more than 300 full-time jobs once the plant is up and running, scheduled for 2017.
"We are proud to be joining the Becancour community and look forward to an open and mutually-beneficial relationship with our neighbours for many years to come," said Peter Cashin, President and CEO of Quest. "Today's announcement marks the start of a dialogue during which we intend to work with all concerned to ensure we build an environmentally-sustainable plant that meets the highest standards in terms of health and safety. As I have stated repeatedly, the public approval of this project, or its social license to operate, is as important to Quest as meeting and exceeding regulatory requirements. It is in this context that we are voluntarily submitting our project for review by the Quebec Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l'environnement, or BAPE."
In keeping with its commitment to openness and transparency, Quest is establishing a Quest- Becancour monitoring committee and inviting community leaders as well as representatives from the Becancour region and local Aboriginal leaders to participate. The Committee will visit Quest's fully-integrated pilot plant in 2014. Quest will also be setting up a hot line and a dedicated web site where residents can receive updates on the project and have their questions and concerns addressed in a timely manner.
"One of the reasons we have chosen Becancour for our processing plant is its highly-skilled work force with extensive experience in heavy industries," noted Mr. Cashin. Quest is expected to employ engineers, metallurgists and geologists who will require undergraduate and/or post-graduate degrees. Administrative and support staff with undergraduate and/or post-graduate degrees will also be needed within finance, human resources, procurement and emergency services. In addition, a large number of technicians will be required. (Please see attached Appendix Figure 1 for the breakdown of potential employment in each category).
The investment is consistent with the positive results of the PFS released by Quest on October 23rd. As envisaged in the PFS, Quest believes that its Strange Lake B-Zone deposit, located in northern Quebec, will be one of the world's largest and highest-grade heavy rare earth (HREE) mining projects and that the planned processing facility in Becancour will be the first facility of its kind in North America and one of the most technologically advanced. Quest's goal is to provide the growing global market for critical manufacturing inputs with a secure and dependable supply of rare earth elements (REE), given the vagaries of pricing and availability from China, currently the world's largest source of REE.
Speaking at a news conference in the presence of government officials including the Mayor of Becancour, Mr. Cashin added: "This Made in Quebec project has the potential to provide an important base for establishing a major new North American industrial sector of global importance, able to address the chronic HREE+Yttrium (HREE+Y) supply deficit over a long period of time."
Quest's PFS provides that whole ore shipped from Quest's HREE mining project at the Strange Lake B-Zone deposit, located in northeastern Quebec, will be processed at the Becancour plant into four separated products - a mixed HREE+Y oxide concentrate, high-purity zirconium basic sulfate (ZBS, for further downstream processing), high-purity niobium oxide, and a mixed light rare earth double-sulfate concentrate. The PFS also provides that the process plant site will include sulphur storage, an acid plant, a solvent extraction (SX) plant, ore stockpiles, utilities and supporting systems. The residue containment facility will include the residue storage structure and the dewatering building and related ponds and piping between the two lots. (Please see attached Appendix Figure 2 for a detailed hydrometallurgical plant floor plan).
Construction is scheduled to start in 2016 for expected completion and commissioning in 2017 and delivery of the first product the following year.
"From our preliminary consultations with stakeholders, we are aware of concerns about the impact of the residue disposal site and by-product uranium and thorium inherent in rare earth materials processing," stated Mr. Cashin. "I wish to stress that we are adapting best practices in terms of residue disposal and that our comparative footprint with natural sources of radiation is well within acceptable limits and inferior to that of existing and planned facilities in Quebec and elsewhere."
Please refer to www.questrareminerals.com for more information on the PFS.
About Quest
Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. ("Quest") is a Canadian-based development company focused on the advancement of its flagship Strange Lake property (rare earth-zirconium-niobium) in northeastern Quebec. Quest is publicly listed on the TSX and NYSE MKT as "QRM" and is led by a highly-experienced management and technical team with a proven track record. Quest believes that its Strange Lake project has the potential to become an important long-term supplier of rare earth elements (REE). Quest's ongoing exploration program led to the doubling of resource tonnage of the B-Zone deposit on the Strange Lake property. In 2012, Quest filed an updated National Instrument 43-101 Indicated and Inferred Resource Estimate for the B-Zone deposit, and in October 2013, Quest announced the results of a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the B-Zone deposit. In addition, Quest has announced the discovery of an important new area of REE mineralization on its Misery Lake project, approximately 120 km south of the Strange Lake project in northeastern Quebec, and is advancing the Misery Lake project. Quest continues to pursue high-value project opportunities throughout North America.

Anyone else care to join me? :o)
Took a little more at .60ish. Average share price is .80 now.
I bought more this morning.....
Why has someone leaned so heavily on the ask for several days now? That is always done to discourage buyers and drive price down. It could only mean someone wants to buy more at a cheaper price. NOBODY constantly offer 5-10k on the ask when it's a small float with little liquidity.
Today's news looks fine to me..... The plan continues to progress. I suspect today is a knee jerk reaction to yesterday's technical move?
He hasn't sold many shares over the past 3 years long run, and he didn't sell a ton of stock. Quest sin't paying him a fortune and maybe the man needed a few extra dollars (I think his sale only equals about 48k or so).
I've noticed someone sitting on the ask for days now. You don't put a 10k lot on the ask when you aren't trying to manipulate the stock price down. Way too sloppy and ignorant. Someone is trying to push the price down for some reason, otherwise they would only offer 1-2k shares at a time.
Will do and I always suggest buying the dips..... Buy a little more today!
Selling 50k worth of stock isn't too alarming in my opinion. He has hardly sold a share over the years and he isn't paid a huge sum to run the company. Regardless, I will bring it up when I communicate with them. I've seen countless insider sales at various companies times followed by HUGE appreciation in share price. Some case involved significant insider sales by the way.
