yeah, will do and same to you. in my more active account i will be shortening my trade durations until after the lockups all expire and effect is calculated in. my other account i will just hold LT even though I am currently negative due to too much flipping to get more and more shares.
tradeable amount of shares does have a lot of room to grow in the next month, and then in february.
sitting around 10-week SMA of 29.8 right now.
way too early to call the bottom but seems we keep hitting 29.65ish.
would be nice to hold there before moving up again but will keep an eye on the techs.
best to you but i hope it doesnt drop too far.
that being said, i did sell a bunch for a loss yesterday figuring i could pick them up today for at least 2 dollars cheaper per share.
lockup expiration is 8.6 mill today, 11.94 mill on Dec 19, 554,968 on Feb 11, and 43 mill on Feb 15.
..for the benefit of the greater association AND associated stock price ;)
no good for us for it to be better for the association and not its shareholders.
couple more business weeks left in the quarter/year.
as expected, down in premarket.
sitting at about 5%/6% down.
will be an interesting day and weeks leading up to the 19th.
i mean, just because lockup period is over doesnt mean they have to sell; just they can.
got some money in my account finally! :)
now i just gotta make some better decisions.
watching closely for a good entry - was thinking 0.10 looks attractive but i feel people will be selling up to EoY if audited financials dont come out and recent communication with the company (from others on the board) shows there is a possibility of it coming early 2012 instead of end of 2011.
to the new mods - welcome.
Well, there's fewer and fewer days left in 4th Q if company is going to meet Gary's expectation and/or goal.
Will definitely be interesting if the merger closes and more frequent updates start occurring.
Yeah, sold a bunch in margin account. Still holding all in my long account.
Will be watching to see how we are affected as it seems all big movements these days are overreactions followed by a correction.
yeah, i think thats one of my issues. i flipped with just one account so then my avg price on the ones i hold ends up rising.
then when a big dip takes, it eats into my margin account and am forced to sell.
so gotta establish better core vs flippers, and, go back to taking smaller profits as the straight bull run here ended and we are in a much choppier pattern.
all i know is some people are making a killing here. lots of short volume as well from what ive seen/read.
i think im gonna have to eat more losses here but hopefully can make them up after we start running up again at a later date.
oh man, if they get their shhh together best believe the leaders of the hot industries will fly.
just a question about holding your cores and keeping a separate amount for flipping - do you hold them in different accounts or the same account? if you hold them in the same account, does your broker do last-in, first-out so the shares purchased after your core are the first ones sold?
i have noticed the last few pre-market days we are green and then we drop after the open. i had intended on selling pre today at 32.89 and it seems like it wouldve been a good quick move.
do you have some insight as to why this is happening on a re-occurring basis?
PS- another company buying FIO
Fusion-io Inc. Common Stock (NYSE:FIO): On 06/30/2011, Cadian Capital Management reported holding 0 shares. On 09/30/2011, Cadian Capital Management reported holding 260,726 shares. The net increase in shares for this position is 260,726.
yeah, i am thinking i gotta start doing more shorter-duration trades with this until a more defined run starts.
some info on the shares sold by insiders:
gonna be looking for a good sell point today and monday before those shares are no longer locked.
need to lower my position in my margin account and ensure i have cash for when this drops over the next month. i will accept the losses as i believe i can make them up.
my other account i am still holding all of my FIO at quite a big loss but unless i can catch a good time to sell with confidence to buy back cheaper, those are just going to be held (avg price on those is 39.xx) and due to the type of account it is i cannot add any more funds until next year.
on a lighter note, added some money to my penny account so that should be in next week. looking at adding to PSPW, APII or starting a position in KNBA.
any advice is appreciated on potential sell targets, strategies or OTC considerations.
on a good note, seems as if eurozone is finally starting to realize that they don't want the weight of the economic world on them if they cause the next global recession. as i think we will see a much worse global recession within 5-10 years (as compared to the last one)
Haha. Completely agree. Those damn jobs we have!
Seen a lot of profit come and go this year. Just need to improve the decision making. Been learning charts for the past few months but those dont always apply in OTC land.
I'm curious as to what smoke pulls out tonight.
Agreed on the transparency comment.
We have seen the pictures of their centers and the demand for the "game" is crazy. Will be very interesting and would be nice to hit one outta the park before the calendar year is up.
Apologize in advance for this OT comment but I like the traders on this board.
Anyone looked at MCZ? I just came across it.
TIA.
Been watching FIO today and am a bit surprised we touched such a low price today. Still looking to lighten my load here simply bc of purchase price and upcoming (shorter term) events.
Yeah, that's what it seems like although my recent decisions haven't been the greatest I just try to learn from them and improve my future decisions.
Just deciding between picking up a bunch here or adding to one of my other OTC plays. Been focused on big boards but this caught my attention.
I know you don't do the bs thing which is why i found this board. I'm straight up as well and will be watching this everyday for at least the next few weeks and/or months.
Been reading the board for a week or 2 now and considering a starter position here.
Looks very intriguing with the expected audited financials and English site.
The definition of money growing on trees.
And yeah, at these prices in the 30s I'm very close to increasing my position by 50%. Just need to work the budget a bit.
One thing I did see yesterday after hours at about 4:08 pm est was a buy of 1 054 671 shares @ 33.49/share.
Huge trade.
But yeah, I see what you are saying about the weakness compared to before the fpo.
Yeah. I have been watching pre Market lately and it seems that many times we drop right after open or soon thereafter.
I did a "virtual trade" in my head where I sold pre in 35s just to see what would happen and albeit not the best trade, still would've been a good one day profit for me.
Seems like the headlines these days are resulting in overreactions to positive and negative side.
Things have been better but that's life. You go with the ebb n flow of the universe at times and against it at others.
my only 3 OTCs are pspw, APII, n STTN and they all seem to be doing nothing at the moment.
Been focused on one big board (fio) for the past few months and that's it.
Still learning everyday.
not in the slightest.
keep in mind I have a lot of nerd in me, one of my degrees is computer engineering and it baffles people even more.
but yeah, just didn't wanna shell that coin for data plans up here in Canada when at home, work and friends I'm either at a computer, one nearby, or wifi.
No skype for me.
I think I'm the only person I've met with an iPhone and no data plan too. lol.
How's things?
Fwiw,
STTN took a poor turn lately and who knows what will happen. Seems more like an average penny play these days but their previous numbers looked good and the acquisition will be in the next financials I believe.
APII.. I still expect something before end of 2011 as Gary did say he was looking towards a 4th Q closing.
"patience" plays for now. hah.
Good call on the sell point.
Any insight on why you chose to sell then? Did you have an order set or were you watching?
TIA and you don't have have to say anything if you don't want. : )
Wow. That is just outta this world science fiction shhh. Crazy numbers. And yeah, being part nerd with one if my degrees in computer engineering I definitely understand this sector better than most.
I don't understand the markets as well as some Joe charts. But there is time to learn those which is what I am doing.
Good action today. Only 3rd I checked (pre, just after and now) bc there's a lot of personal issues going on so I left work within an hour or 2 of getting there. Just gonna be at home for today and tmrw.
Amazing all of the negative news came around the same time and now a bunch of positive news. Learned some lessons so will be keeping more money in my accounts just for buffer and those extreme sell offs. I've heard many people state that one if their rules is to always have money just in case, slowly tweaking my system so that statement starts to produce better results for me. Still to eager/anxious on good size but not large dips.
Thanks for that other research by the way LeGoose. I will be keeping an eye on those dates.
Appreciate the heads up man. Thanks.
Hoping we climb until at least just before the lockup period so I can shrink my position here at a smaller loss before those shares available for sale.
No one knows how much will be sold but all we need is a bit of downward pressure and those additional shares will see us take a big drop.
About the form 4s being filed - I'm not sure of the answer to your Q but would love to know. Do we know for sure they were sold? If so were they part of the fpo shares? Or if they weren't, is this happening after the 180 day lockout?
Never like to see insiders sell.
Nice trade. : )
I just need to hurry up and make more money so I can have more in my account for those days when the Market (and FIO) takes big dips.
hahaha, i know ay?
worse than that..i think it was actually a mistake by the broker and that i didn't need to cover (because they said they would sell at 1pm EST but i sold at about 1:30 pm)
but yeah, this is another thing i like to see with FIO:
Fusion-io Inc. Common Stock (NYSE:FIO): On 06/30/2011, Vanguard Group reported holding 0 shares. On 09/30/2011, Vanguard Group reported holding 59,186 shares. The net increase in shares for this position is 59,186
Fusion-io Inc. Common Stock (NYSE:FIO): On 06/30/2011, State Street Corp. reported holding 0 shares. On 09/30/2011, State Street Corp. reported holding 57,200 shares.
Ouch. Well, guess we will have to see how this plays out.
Gonna be an interesting next 2 months.
Haha. Good day today. Very disappointed I had to sell some today bc the way the broker deals with margin.
But nonetheless enjoyed today's action.
17k share buy at 4:03.
I've seen a lot of big buys in the past 2 weeks here. A few worth a couple mill and one worth 17 mill at 32.0282 a piece.
Interesting to see if we can get a mini bull rush until next earnings before some shhh goes down on an economic stage.
how high can we run today?
it will be interesting to see how these bull days are affected by all the extra shares (and new shares) being available for trade now.
oversold (due to worst week in US markets since 1932) + record black friday sales for US + increased hope for europe + high expectations for cyber monday = large rally today
Agree and appreciate the comments.
One account I still am holding all my holdings. Just my other account uses margin so i had to dump some.
I'm thinking we will be good within 2 months as long as something big in US or Europe goes down.
damn, margin call got too big so they called me on my cell.
already deposited more money but now forced to sell about 50 shares.
seems we have a slight surge to low/mid 30.XXs.
and yeah, global definitely affecting and completely agree with the demand for FIO products.
it took me almost 2 years to find a job after graduating in 2008 with 22 degrees being 22 yrs old. once i started making money i had to pay off some things and only this year (jan/feb) did i start having money for investing.
still have lots of life ahead but really was hoping things were turning up for me.
looking forward to next week already, ha!
seems like you are in a good place with lots of capital to invest. : )
i hope to be there one day but on days like the last 3, it seems like it will take longer than i expected.
i think the FPO is a huge factor because
1) if you read the boards across the internet investors are pissed that they announced 33 price when previous close was above 36. about 9% discount. i think the price shouldve been closer to what the previous close was as to not shock the system.
2) increased OS (small % increase but this will affect price if same mkt cap is kept)
3) increased tradeable amount of shares (im sure many people rushed to lock in small losses or profits and figured they could buy cheaper)
the euro issues (including germany failed debt auction) obviously contribute, including china's views, however, i feel our movement is more influenced by the FPO.
no one can be for certain but last time we did a sudden drop and touch off mid 31s we ran back up to 40 within 5 or 6 trading days (this was about 9 or 10 trading days ago).
i feel there will be a lot more resistance above where we are because we crossed a lot of support levels on the way down.
BB with 20 has middle at 35.16 and lower at 29.28. since the start of the run in september we didnt enter the lower half of the BBs and today we have touched and spent some time below the lower band.
50-day SMA is 27.24 so there is still a few dollars to fall if investors choose so.
the market loves to put people in their place, especially when they start thinking they got a better feel of things. my new spot is my old one - back of the bus. ha!
LOD is 28.80.
how far will we drop?
if i sold all right now it wipes out all profits across all trades for the past few months. this hurts.
i think the drop below 31 has forced me to sell. just looking for the right point because this does not look good short term and the stops/margin calls are gonna be happening.
wish i had lots of money so i could stay in this but playing on margin is risky and ive learned another lesson. moving forward i think i will always sell as soon as FPO is announced because i had no idea when it would happen and they would price at such a discount.
the public is telling the company what they think of this move right now.
hope your buys in this area pay off man.
no car for me in the next 13 months let alone the one i wanted. back to the public transpo! : \
VIDEO CASE STUDY: Ning Speeds Custom Social Network Creation with Fusion-io
http://www.fusionio.com/blog/ning-speeds-custom-social-network-creation-with-fusion-io/
those guys saw some serious increase in performance and results by switching to Fusion.
i think more and more companies will see this kind of increase and realize this company really knows what they are doing.
now, for the immediate/short term, lets hold this as the base and begin moving up again.
Nevermind.
Checked the IPO and FPO official fillings and the difference in share structure. 3 mill new shares. 8 something being added to float.
3 mill outta 83 mll is less than 3.7% increase. So with same Market cap and price at 33 this would be around 31.80.
Interesting. Last AH trade at 31.58 after 31.65 close. But there was a trade for 552 097 shares @ 32.0282 at 7:03 est (I think).
10.31 M volume.
So the IPO was 10 M shares of which 1.5 was from insiders.
FPO is 3 M from the company and additional 5.84 will come from current holders.
If I read that right it means our tradable share total increased by 30% meaning if we say we were at 36 before this, that becomes 27.7ish with same Market cap.
Dont like the look of that in the short term. Not sure I can hold all my current holdings with margin until the next financials which should bring another surge up.
Any thoughts?
Today hurt but I'm still optimistic. We touched this point about 8 trading days ago albeit without the fpo.
Let's see where we end the week?
Anyone have any comments on the Note Payable section?
