Thanks for that article ZENAKU. Looks like the scientists are having to do the work to get the word out that they NEED A PARTNER!
"But continuing the research done by professor Don Jarvis at the University of Wyoming, Malcolm Fraser at Notre Dame says he has reached the point where HIS SILK WORMS are doing THEIR part--what he needs now is a PARTNER to ramp up the production of the silk."
Again kblb would be nowhere without these hard working scientists. Why are they having to pound the pavement to get media attention. I thought that was the one man bands job.
Thankfully it was Dr. Fraser they talked to over anyone else, because the way he presents himself is very professional and charismatic.
You can tell by watching videos of him, that he genuinely gets excited about this stuff and that is the kind of person you want on the front lines.
Note he doesnt do any self promoting of how smart he is. You get that information based on his C.V. and observing him.
Kim Thompson expressly stated in the march conference call he was looking for commercialization partners.
Note he never has said... We have a processor, so nothing indicates he has a processor. Processing a thousand cocoons and a steady processing of millions of cocoons are two vastly different situations, which is what is going to be necessary if you look solely for a customer. However a Partner, which Kim expressly states is his BUSINESS MODEL is to have the PARTNER help get this to market.
"KT: Our model is to PARTNER with larger established companies in our target markets for product development, manufacturing and distribution. The first step has been to identify and begin discussions with appropriate potential PARTNERS. The pace of contact with potential PARTNERS has increased significantly, since the publication of the national academy of sciences article in January and also after the Textile World magazine article, also in the first quarter. Since those publications came out there has been a lot of interest in Monster Silk and we have been approached by a number of companies concerning the potential to use monster silk in their product lines, or to develop new products using monster silk.
During the first quarter we've entered into non disclosure and confidentiality agreements with a number of those companies. Those companies operate in markets ranging from sportswear and fashion to military and defense applications. These are primarily large companies. The largest has sales in the billions of dollars; the smallest has sales between 20 to 50 million dollars. We are exploring the potential of our products for their markets and how our monster silk can be integrated into their product lines. It is very exciting, but we are also at a relatively early stage in that process with each of these companies. We are continuing to make contact with companies that we feel will be suitable market development partners and we have a specific plan for that outreach.
And of course, from there perspective, I am sure it is not lost on them that not only do we have Monster Silk, we are in development of even more advanced materials, and the PARTNERS WE CHOSE to move forward with on monster silk are likely to have an inside track on our product pipeline."
KBLB struggling to get back to .06. Looks like we have a new bottom.
KBLB only has Gen 1 silk. Lets get a deal on that before we worry about Gen 2. May be 3-5 years before Gen 2 is up and running maybe longer.
Look how long it is taking once they got Gen 1 homozygous and commercially viable to get a partner. Gen 2 will be no different.
looks like the market is in disagreement as to whether offers are there.
not misleading at all. The scientists have something, kblb has nothing until it takes the something from the scientists and turns it into something for the market, until then kblb has nothing.
Kblb has nothing, until they have something. The market will determine when kblb has something. For over a year the market has shown that kblb has less and less of something, and is sloping down to having nothing.
Its not for lack of having something. The scientists have created something, but kblb as a result of its inability to capitalize has for the last year, shown they have nothing. Big business like forward and proactive thinking.
Kblb has a huge problem of being reactive, which is why things are done slowly. Slow is death to new businesses.
The sharks on shartank would love the science, but hate the business. Mr. wonderful would ask.."how much have you sold", & kblb would say 0. Then probably shoot itself in the foot, by saying, well we have 15 nondisclosure agreements with various partners. To which mr. wonderful would reply.. "if this is so great, why dont you havd any signed partners"
To which kblb will start to get nervous and say somthing that two others sharks wont like, immediately prompting them to say. "im out".
The clothing guy will chime in and say.." You got a great idea, but I dont think you are the guy to get it done, because if you were, it would have already gotten done and you wouldnt need me..... So I am going to make you an offer because the science is good, but I want control, so 1 million dollars for 51% of the company"
To which, kblb will bock at, then mark cuban will hop in and say, listen you need to accept that deal once he is gone, all your left with is mr wonderful because I am out. kblb then looks at mr wonderful curious to see his answer when the clothing guy says, what am I chop liver. You need to accept in 10 seconds or I am out, as your reactiveness and hesitation has been your entire problem. Kblb waivers and bam the deal is gone. Now kblb is looking at mr wondedful, who then asks one final question. "how much time are you devoting to this" kblb hesitates, and mentions that they have another full time job and this is a fun science project.
And with that kblb walks out from the big business meeting empty, with nothing, back to the impossible task ahead, of doing everything itself.
Just like that a good idea and a good product is gone forever, or is it? Its just a license agreement right, good to know.
KBLB is the stock of 2012. great time to load. get em while they are cheap.
There have been no good points, and all this speculation and analyzing ramp up numbers is a waste of time and energy.
This is illogical.
I know, I know, you all will come back and say.... Kim didnt write the pr. Ok, well then can the guy who did. All these little miss steps add up to j.v. A simple re read prior to submission would make things so much cleaner.
You want to throw your name in tandem to a billion dollar market, you better be polished.
It will be a long while before flipping those .05's will be a profitable maneuver.
There is a period separating two thoughts, with two separate quotes. Primarily integral to this was ND awarding Fraser's lab to develop silkworm transgenics capabilities. Secondarily integral was the grant awarded to Jarvis, Lewis and Fraser. Thirdly, less integral was supplemental funding from KBLB, which by the way any company could have supplemented this funding.
The main point is that the research would have been impossible without the ability to carry out silkworm transgenesis, which ND and Fraser's lab had (the ability).
Thus you are trying to take Fraser's quotes and derive that he is admitting that Kim Thompson is the reason this was possible.
When in fact this was not possible without PiggyBac and the award by Notre Dame to develop silkworm transgenic capabilities, thus pointing directly NOT to KBLB, but the fact that this was only possible to do if you had the ability to carry out silkworm transgenics.
Notre Dame had that ability via PiggyBac
It can be confusing to a layman.
what has been proven. that KBLB is the reason this is here? So now that you feel that is proven, commercial partners should be lining up right. This is illogical.
So now you think that this could have been done by KBLB independent of the universities and KBLB would be here today with a different set of scientists. No, the scientists would have been here regardless of KBLB, they had the ABILITIES to make this happen.

exactly, MAY never have. Not definitely would never have.
really the scientists have said exactly thet (that). can you show me this and who said this?
KBLB in the next 30 days will have a PR. which will begin a steady green increase in share price.
There, lets see how this changes things.
Go KBLB!
this is going green. Today is the start of a green steady climb to .3
Here, I will jump on the band wagon!
Go KBLB, its gonna be a great month in JULY!
We will have 2 partner PR's and see .3
Who cares about being in a mensa class. Utterly irrelevant. I would rather an average intelligence individual that gets things done.
KBLB another red day. long ways away from anything significant coming to fruition. I suspect a new round of dilution to occur in the next 30 days to create a new base around .04
Brokerages know about us, as of right now, there is no need to buy in. They have no benefit, plus KBLB's past history of pump and dump is not attractive.
The scientists did what hey promised they would do. Create transgenics that had spider protein expressed in the silk.
Kim has been activated since June 2011 once a commercial strain was created to do his part of the job, which is get a partner. Instead, he has insisted on focusing on lab updates to drive the company.
Once he realizes he is not a scientist, and not a sales person, nor an IR person this company may grow some legs. Once he finally outsources to more talented and capable people, things will start moving at a more normal pace, until then we are a minnow trying to buddy up with blue fin tuna.
He is a wanna be scientist, not a true business man. That is why on the KBLB website he is wearing a lab coat (not his by the way, nor is the microscope, nor any of the materials in that lab. Its all ND's stuff).
You want proof that they are operating out of their own lab now, wait until they have updated pictures on the website. Unfortunately, I can only imagine that Kim will be in the pictures acting like he is doing the research, which is factually untrue. There are very talented researchers that work their buts off, that deserve more than they get. If you want to play dress up great, if you want to get partners, something must change.
As a result based on past timelines we wont see anything substantial in a year, at which point many will have cut their losses. As each month passes with no partner, more debt is accumulated and the likelihood of partners is reduced.
The ducks were not in a row and everything is being done reactively rather than proactively.
Its a shame because this really had some potential because the science is real.
This is all merely my opinion
I believe its unintentional silence and a sign that nothing is going on.
Irrelevant. Period.
What a none issue.
Are you serious, you think all one needs is a couple worms, and bam they can create their own colony. Do you realize anything on how to take care or cultivate silk worms. I bet kim could give you 50 worms and in 1 month you would have 0 worms left and none cacooned because they all died.
That is ridiculous. security is the least of kblbs worries.
Kblb has fallen 70% since a year ago. How can this be good. This means that those that bought in at a mere 10 cents will need to see 20 to 30 percent increase just to break even. KBLB, needs to figure out how to grow the price, not pop the price.
This is something a skilled marketer and sales person can do. Since it has yet to be done, all signs point to the fact that KBLB has yet to acquire an individual or company with thise talents.
Actually, be definition you are merely a shareholder of a widely held corporation. Thus it is a stretch to associate your long term interest with Kblb's long term interest.
I will say it again, as I have said it before. Kblb is a ways away from anything, that will move this north. Additionally as all widely held company shareholders are, I am focused on the share price.
Which has been trending down for over a year.
anything under 23.5 is great.
.15 at best is where we will be in another year.
I agree, this will settle down in a month or two. Probably around 28 to 30 a share.
Oops what, kblb was red on tuesday may 1st. That was tomorrow when I posted on april 30th. So oops what.
No my opinion of thompson is based on his overpromising and need to backtrack.
It was wrong to state in a june conference call that he will have a partner by the end of 2011. It was wrong to put out a pr mid december that he was going to have a cc in january, then delay it until march.
He created those expectations, and did not follow through. Had he not said those things, and not made those assurances publically, he would be a far more competant ceo.
The last straw for reliability came with visual confirmation that he did shotty booth set up at one of the most well known textile trade shows in america. Great he fixed it, but not before it was documented that he doesnt know a thing about marketing and sales.
Kblb will be red this friday and close under 7 cents.
over 300 days have passed with monstersilk and still no deals. probably another 300 will pass before a deal.
I thought monstersilk was to be a household name by BEGINNING second quarter 2012.
I think kim is telling us exactly what he said, nothing more, nothing less.
I disagree, kim has not done a fantastic job.
