Tis the end of the year...lets see....From the edig website partners list
APS..the only real oem..thank god for Mr. Boyer
Audible...history...should be removed as to not insult shareholders further
Bang & Olufsen..they can stay.. we probably make a few thousand a year off of them
Cornice..we are still on the partners list..no business from them in a whole year.
Digitalway.. other than a few Digeplayers mfgr. for edig..they have not licensed one single product with edig inside
DivX..edig pays them to use codec..
Equator Technologies... PR is years old...not one single deal ever...EVER with edig!!!
Fusion Digital Technology Ltd... PR is eight months old with no product release in sight..they should stay for now.
Hewlett-Packard..One little deal done two years ago with "EXPECTED" reorders never comming to pass..
Hitachi...total insult to shareholders...nothing ever from them
Intel..the biggest BS stoty of them all..remember the touted top secret work we did for them??? Why is their name still on the list..A five year old BS story
Lucent Technologies...EDIG licensed their now defunct codec and their voice recognition engine for a few devices..no more no less
Maycom..they manufacture for edig..ok to be on the list
Microsoft...another joke here...edig licensed their codec..nothing else
Musical Electronics..they made 5000 players with edig tech four years ago... then dumped the product...edig produced another ces 2004 PR with nothing ever happening...Now ..as usual nothing in all of 2004...Their name should be removed
MusicMatch..edig licenses their software..we are their clients
PortalPlayer...another joke.. A two year old
PR with nothing ever happening
Samsung..Data play is dead.. that was years ago..nothing fron samsung since...I happen to know that the Samsung deal WAS THE ONLY DEAL THAT STEVE FURGUSEN EVER CLOSED IN HIS ENTIRE TENURE AT EDIG!!!! One deal in years..
SanDisk...I don't get it...
Sanyo.. They manufactured a device for edig almost a decade ago...nothing since then...they should be removed from the list
Softeq..Same as HP
Sony..another joke..nothing ever from them...A pr issued five years ago stating that edig would license their audio codec...They have not even done that..They should be removed
SRS Labs..we licensed their SRS WOW for the O-1000..edig is merely a customer of theirs.
Texas Instruments..edig uses their DSPs in their devices..we are their clients...TI supposedly refers customers to edig..With all the new products that edig has released in 2004..I would have to say that this is truly a great releationship.
TGE Group..A one year old PR..WITH ABSOLUTELY nothing ever comming to fruition..Edig management perpetually having to remove their feet from their mouths concerning TGE.
Toshiba...Data play is dead.. we do absolutely nothing with Toshiba..That statement is my opinion..but I feel confident about saying it.
Edig needs to completely replace the bumbling inept sales department..Be way more honest to its shareholders than just keeping quiet. They need to clean things up like the outdated and misleading clients/partners list on their website. They need to explain as best as they can why past statements never come to pass.
FF...howz it going... Got a call from RP today in response to a question I asked him about edig's patent pending. He told me that the patent pending was entirely edigs application...IT IS SHARED WITH NOBODY... and it was too early to see it on the govt. website. and that they feel very good that it will be granted...FWIW.. Hope all is well with you..
HH
FF...I had a rather long conversation with RP the other day, and I asked about the security provisions in the video players. If I am not mistaken, their proprietary hardware incryption is a new technology. It is done at the hard drive. I am not sure if it involves the micro os. According to RP, a patent has been applied for. Does anybody know if you can find patents pending on the government website ?????
HH
chiselweed... Strange that shareholders do not question why nothing (except IFE) has been announced for the whole of 2004. All one has to do is to read the few PRs that were released this year and see that everyone of their statements about new products has been an outright lie. EDIG managements mouths have taken the permanent shape of a foot. Those on the other board spend their time argueing about a christmas card. The company has not been honest with shareholders for years...
HH
germb1...I am not much of a betting man..but I'll bet that you see the likes of TGE, Musical, Digitalway all producing 1" hdd DAPs without edig inside within the next few months.
From the press release dated 8/12/04..." While some of our customers are scheduled to bring branded versions of our DAP and Kino platforms to market this year." I know... there are three whole weeks left this year. Personally...a spade is a spade...AND A LIE IS A LIE... This stuff is just plain cut and dry...It is out there for all to read. PEOPLE... YOU NEED TO CALL THEM ON THIS STUFF.
From the press release dated 7/1/04... " The company also announced that it is experiencing increasing demand for customized solutions of its proprietary DAP. We do not expect the delays will affect sales forcasts provided to us by our OEM/ODMs... From the PR dated 10//28/04.... "While we have oem/odm business oppertunities for our music based audio based technology platforms, they have become less attractive due to lower margins." What another crock of $hit. Even a small margin from a platform that has been already developed and paid for would BE PURE PROFIT. Who the he## are they trying to fool. Each succussive pr is managements poor attempt to backpedal on why nothing has happened.
HH
From the press release dated 12/05/03..."While all of edig's platforms and derivitives have home run potential, each product will require different time frames to evaluate their expected succuss, some results will be evident within weeks, others will take longer.".. Weeks... what a crock... what a lie..
HH
digger..I aggree with you on that...The Digeplayer was pushed to the airlines by a great salesman (Bill Boyer)...Unfortunately these PVPs are being pitched to the cable companys by an inept sales team (Falk and Fergusen). The sales dept. at edig has failed to close any new deals in the whole of 2004. Hope for the best...don't hold your breath.. It is my opinion that their replacement is vital to the continued existance of the company.
HH
FF..you got that right...Those are the exact same words he gave me when I asked why all those multi billion dollar oems were on the clients/partners page for years on end with not a single one of them actually bringing an edig powered product to market. BEWARE OF THOSE WORDS
Mark
emit..good point...other than the DP...I do not see CE companys beating down a path to edig door.. In fact I see whatever companys that were supposed to use edig just quietly fade away.
doni.. you seem to have a grasp on the virtues of edig's tech. Could you please give me your reasons as to why no name brand CE company ( other than B&O for a few paltry thousand dollars) have not licensed edig tech...or like other companys such as Digital Way, TGE, Musical that have backed out of any deals with edig. This is an honest question...
HH
I sent an e-mail to RP.. telling him to be sure and give that master salesman Falk another richly deserved year end bonus for all those great contracts that he has secured for edig during 2004. There are so many..I can't count them... Probably... edig was already intending to do it with that last $100,000 round of pathetic financing. I wonder how many new ones they will announce at this years CES so they can put their foot in their mouths once again come about next june or july. All shareholders should send edig an e-mail congratulating them on one more year of million dollar losses and multi million share dilution.
moxa.. sorry.. no PM... need your e- mail again..
SD...one more thing.. I think that Falks salary would have been put to much better use in the companys executive washroom toilet paper dispenser
SD.. thanks.. I own a lotta shares.. I feel that edig management has not been truthfull to shareholders...Too bad the shareholders on the other board cannot accept the fact that sooner or later.. management has to do something that shareholders "expect" them to do... Stop printing more shares... quit borrowing money from "friendly investors" at loan shark interest rates... And close some deals that will make them some money...It is just soooo simple.
LGJ.. I can't say what the story about the digefusion is. But if you remenber about a year or two ago there was a device out for sale ( I believe that it was a digital radio or something like that) Off some European website. It was the spitting immage of the 0-1000. I sent the link of the picture to Putnam and asked him if edig is in it. His reply was ..no.. If I remember correctly.. He told me that that company was just using the industrial design of the product from Digitalway. As for the Digefusion DAP goes, why would Fusion want to use a music player only when they could have both music and video. It is my opinion that that picture is quite old and that player will not happen.. just like the player I was talking about..
Mark
FF...I asked RP yesterday if the Fusion contract was in tact. His reply..." we continue to work with Fusion"... I did not like the tone in his voice... Those were the exact words and the exact tone of voice when I asked him about all the multi billion dollar companys on their clients/partners page that never seemed to do any business with edig. The truth be known is that other than IFE, edig's master sales team ..led by that perpetual deal closer Falk has not closed one single solitary deal for the whole of 2004. That is quite pathetic.
FF..I concur.. Dilution is not a good thing..It means that the company cannot sustain itself. If you read my posts on agoura...you will see that the posters there are in their own little dream world when it comes to what the money will be used for. Paying salaries and paying the bills...no more no less..
SD... the management would not even buy a hundred shares at bargain basement prices..See my post on agoura for my real feelings
Mark
LGJ..IMO the street will not welcome further dilution. When that happens...The pps will drop.
LGJ..it may have been a record quarter...but the hole that edig is digging itself into is doing nothing but getting deeper....Watch how soon the printing presses get up to speed again, or their loanshark "friendly investors" take another bite out of shareholders investment. Atul has taken a backpedaling stance to all non IFE prs released this year. Falk continues his legacy of non production.. He is one worthless POS.
FF..I'm with you on that..You would think that after year after year of loosing money for edig, management would finally want to do something to make shareholders think that they had their best interests at heart. BUT...weren't these the same people who sold millions of dollars into the Nasdaq PR when the PR was full of lies????? Were these the same people who while the company was on the brink of BK paid themselves cash bonuses and printed more stock to pay off debt...Was I also mistaken that it was the same management that has had to back pedal on every single statement {except for IFE} concerning new oem/odm business for the whole of 2004??? I don't know...just a few passing thoughts that have been infuriating me for a while..
Mark
FF...IMO the run up was caused by a cascading effect due to some initial buying into the Wencore news. Once the stock movement was observed, the momentum players came into play. Buying begat more buying. I believe this as the over one million shares traded on the next day was the momos getting out with some rather impressive three day profits. The other couple of million shares were the "bag holders" who got sucked into the frenzy. IFE could or could not be edig's cash cow...BUT in the meantime who else but me and a few others see that the year is now 85% over and the sales and marketing team at edig ( Falk and Fergusen) have not sold not one single new company anything what so ever in over ten months. For the last six months, Putnam has told me that edig has more business than it knows what to do with... His concept of business must be different than mine..TO ME....business means to have a product..either physical or intellectual... AND SELL IT TO MAKE A PROFIT.. And For those who credit Falk for the APS deal...I have some beachfront property in Afghanistan for sale cheap... The APS deal was a no brainer even for an inept sales person such as Falk...Lets see .....you are the president of a failing company who was over the last few years time and time again unable to close any deal that has any weight to it..And this Baggage handler comes to him and says..." Here is some money...Build me a player...Whats he gonna do...SAY NO....LOLOLOLOL
Mark
Although sales of the Digeplayer could take off...Shareholders still have to put things into the proper perspective.. The year is about 80% over...and what has edig done for its shareholders..The Gateway player was for sale for a little while...Nothing further from Softeq (additional sales were EXPECTED) The same oem that made the Gateway player was supposed to be releasing a video player..nothing on that front...The Fusion player might not even come out this year and revenues could be as paltry as the Musical JB. Convergence projects have not materialized...MOs licensing to a "BILLION" dollar company has not occured. Heck...they cannot get a date set with F-10 to get their money back so they can pay off the million bucks that they borrowed at loanshark rate financing so they could pay their worthless salaries. But...to me ...the thing that is most laughable is that "edig management has been burned by their past statements that they will say nothing until it is a done deal... Folks...the year is 80% gone....where are the done deals...Besides IFE which by it self could not increase the PPS unless they sold tens of thousands of units every quarter..EDIG MANAGEMENT HAS DONE NOTHING..To earn their pay.

Wraps come off Inflight Canada regional-jet solutions
October 1, 2004 – DESIGN and installations specialist Inflight Canada revealed the details of its IFE solution for regional jets at last week’s WAEA show in Seattle (see also Inflight Online, September 9).
The new design is a response to a Bombardier request for a scheme to install in-seat IFE in its CRJ705, with a weight budget not to exceed 450lb. At the same time, future CRJ705 operator Air Canada asked handheld and other IFE vendors to work with Inflight Canada to develop plans for a suitable system. APS and Thales responded, and concepts for both solutions were on display last week.
Thales Avionics took the new wide-format 8.9in monitor and made it some 85 per cent thinner by removing its electronics and re-packaging them for installation in Inflight Canada’s patented underfloor iCACHE. This arrangement leaves only a thin, lightweight LCD panel embedded in the seatback, eliminates seatboxes and preserves Thales i-4000 system features such as the touchscreen, card-swipe and USB.
Thales is also working to supply both power and Ethernet data to the screen via a single set of cables, with redundancy, resulting in further weight savings.
A major incidental benefit is the fact that, because the slimmed-down screen adds less than three per cent to total seat weight, the existing 16g certification can be retained without expensive dynamic testing.
Also at the request of Air Canada, APS disassembled a digEplayer, eliminating the battery and removing the hard drive, controls and electronics. These items and an in-seat power system were switched to iCACHE, leaving only the LCD screen in the seatback and a passenger control unit in the armrest. “APS calls this the Embedded digEplayer,” says Inflight Canada president George Smallhorn. “If a hard drive fails, only one seat is left without service - and that can be solved by giving the passenger a conventional handheld digEplayer.”
As the initiator and the leader of the project, Air Canada will make a decision after APS has completed airworthiness testing, with the ultimate aim of installing the winner in 15 CRJ705s - total weight less than 450lb per aircraft - and 45 Embraer 190s (less than 575lb).
The Canadian carrier is also evaluating an Inflight Canada design for the replacement of handheld DVD players in the first-class cabins of its 17 Boeing 767-300s. The Inflight Canada solution combines Embedded digEplayer with the company’s LePEDestal plug-in unit, designed originally to house and power DVD players mounted on deployable arms. Each LePEDestal unit, installed one per seat pair for a total of 15 per aircraft, contains two screens, hard drives, electronics, passenger control units and a power supply to deliver what Smallhorn calls “instantaneous embedded AVOD and in-seat power”.
Also on show in Seattle was Inflight Canada’s new narrowbody iCACHE. This accommodates both AVOD and in-seat power standard triple boxes for up to six seats in the Airbus A320 in a single air-cooled cluster beneath the aisle, stacking the IFE units two deep to take advantage of the aircraft’s exceptional underfloor volume.
In other news, Smallhorn confirmed that Inflight Canada now numbers Virgin America among its customers. The new Virgin venture plans to offer low-cost services in the USA from the middle of next year. Describing the carrier’s service offering as “high-style,” Virgin America IFE director Charles Ogilvie says: “Inflight entertainment will be part of our success formula.”
more info..Low-costs on a roll: more from JetBlue, Ryanair
September 27, 2004 – JETBLUE, the low-cost standard-bearer in North America, has expanded its IFE offering. And European equivalent Ryanair has revealed more about plans to add a single entertainment frill to its otherwise austere service.
JetBlue this month added Bravo, Comedy Central, Fox Movie, Fox News, FX, Hallmark, MTV, National Geographic, SciFi and USA Network to bring its total of free inflight TV channels to 36. Later this year it will introduce paid-for Fox InFlight Premium first-run films on selected flights. And next year it will offer up to a hundred free channels of XM Satellite Radio.
Following last week’s announcement that it was to try out the APS digEplayer handheld system on an initial five aircraft from November 1, Ryanair has revealed more about the trial and its commercial expectations.
Each of the five Boeing 737-800s in the trial will carry 24 digEplayers on selected routes. The carrier has committed provisionally to a total of 6,000 units, to be distributed to its entire fleet by the end of next March in the event of a successful trial.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said that the units would be handed out at the beginning of each flight for a likely charge of around £5 ($9) per user. Estimated total annual income is put at a minimum of $17 million on the basis of an average take-up of three per cent of passengers, though O’Leary expects that figure to be higher in practice.
The primary concern is theft, according to O’Leary, and the airline plans to ask users to hand over a passport or other identification document as security.
Content will be refreshed every two months at least, and the number of digEplayers carried on each flight will be adjusted in line with actual demand.

APS announces customer No 4 - "and there's more to come"
September 19, 2004 - KLM of the Netherlands is the latest carrier to order the APS digEplayer 5500 handheld IFE system. And the company says it will reveal the names of several more customers at next week's WAEA show in Seattle.
In service with Alaska Airlines and also ordered by Hawaiian Airlines and Jetsgo, digEplayer is about the same weight and size as a portable DVD player. Its 40Gb hard drive is capable of holding over 64 films, as well as television shows, cartoons and music.
KLM will initially make the units available in first-class on Boeing 737 flights in Europe. Content will be refreshed every 60 days. DreamWorks SKG, Buena Vista, Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox have content provision agreements with APS, which says that additional studios are to be announced. Films in both English and French are made available one month ahead of store rentals.
resqjuc...Ayn way to reach you privately..???
HH
resqjuc..if it comes to that...I hope that all his ill gotten gains are disgourged from his greedy little fingers in a court of law. Nothing is too bad for him...LOLOL
HH
FF...Falk does not give a damn about shareholders.. He has been making statements like that for years and years... True statement...he has no shame...no remorse...no nothing...He made millions off his NASDAQ PR which was totally out of line for him to say...You and I and Falk know that for every buck that he put in his pocket...that buck was taken out of the pocket of a decent hard working shareholder who took him at his word... I dispise him to no end.. And wish for his actions to catch up to him someday!!!!! And that too is sugar coated..
HH
FF..so true ..so true..The only thing that shows what the "street" thinks of edig IS the PPS.. There is not even any token rise in PPS or volume in anticipation of new airlines to be announced next week...CAUSE.. the street knows that whatever contracts are announced will be totally negated due to the million bucks of the loanshark rate loan that they needed to pay to keep the lights on...and the millions of cheap shares that edig sold to "friendly investors" who will sell into any news whatsoever..just like the last several PRs got the PPS nowhere. EDIG needs a whole new sales dept and they need to run FAlk outta town on a rail....... MY OPINION ONLY>>>BUT I THINK ITS TRUE
HH
murgirl..I posed the same question to him about Equator...same story..FWIW..
HH
murgirl...I recently spoke to RP about PP..He told me that to date edig has not done any business with PP. His reason (excuse) was that PP was far too expensive a solution for edig OEMS/ODMS whoever they might be. Draw your own conclusion..I have come to one.. It is not flattering to edig.
HH
chwdr...please excuse my ignorance!!!LOL..I should have known better..
HH
chwdrhed...there kinda is... For the last five years edig has been tooting their horn that with their patented tech. and their lean mean engineering machine, they will be quick to market...
HH
resqjuc..depressing ..is it not...Everyone here who is doing earnest DD seems to only come up with the fact that edig's competetion on all fronts is closing deal after deal and inventing new technologies across the board. Nobody to thank but good ole Fred Falk...His legacy of five years of non execution as prez...will only be complimented by his non performance in marketing... He is a stone waste of a salary..
HH
JW...you poor misinformed soul...think what you want..
HH
FF..you betya...People here on this board are more or less good..Its the bubbles on Agoura that need to be deflated a tad... But you know why I am quiet..LOLOL
HH
