Wow. Is this the new Fedspeak? Let's say two different things one minute apart. From CBS Marketwatch Real time Headlines.
8:50am 02/20/04 FED'S POOLE: ECONOMY NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO CREATE JOBS
8:51am 02/20/04 POOLE SEES 'SIGNIFICANT' INCREASES IN JOBS IN 2004
Okay. Thanks.

Morning Jerry. Any thoughts on ASYT at this level. Looks awfully attractive.

Lee. I don't know if this will help you as much as it did me, but I have the Norton Internet Security program installed on all my PC's. It comes with a spam killer and an ad blocker, which blocks literally 99% of all pop-ups. Once I disabled the ad blocker and I was shocked how many pop-ups came on the screen. I enabled the ad blocker again and life is good. You can get a copy off Ebay for about $30.
Russ
LOL. The funny part is that I hardly ever watch it. Just my bad luck I guess <gg>

Wow. Is it just my opinion, or is Alexis Glick the worst in reporting the financial news? She reminds me of a 9th grade teacher droning on about ancient history while everyone stares out the window numb. Bueller? Beuller?
Gotcha. Thanks Jerry.

Morning Jerry. Concerning KLIC. I was fortunate enough to sell some of my shares in the high 15's, but am still holding a bunch. Do you think this is a good point to buy back my other shares, or do you expect it to dip lower before turning around? Also, it seems to me that the semi-equips are saying good things about this cycle. I know that typically traders get out when things are the best, but it seems too early for that right now. Would you agree? Thanks for your time.
Russ
Jerry. Mark me down as one of the people who really appreciates all you do. We haven't communicated a lot, but every time I've asked your advice, you've been cordial and on the money. I'll continue to follow your posts no matter where they are.

Does anyone think that Briefing.com is worth the $225 price tag they now want for live news? I don't mind spending some money for information, but would it be better spent elsewhere? Thanks for any responses.
Russ
Will do !!. Thanks.
Russ
I just realized that Scott was giving the business update at 9 this morning. He must have said something that rattled investors.
Edit. Oh well. I bought a little more. I know Scott is usually conservative so I'm taking the opportunity.
Russ
Klic getting smacked this morning even though the other equips up. Any insight? I can't find any bad news.
Russ
"RFMD....Someone keeps selling into any move up"
I saw that. Already traded half it's daily average. Unfortunately I bought into the stock in the 11.30's. Going to hold though. Their forward guidance was pretty good.
Russ
Just found this board. Anyone have any idea why we're getting slapped around so badly this morning? thanks.
Russ
"Jimmy Hoffa ?"
LOL !!!!

I just bought some at $15.25. I wanted to jump in with both feet because I think the semi-equip cycle could take off for these smaller players soon, but knowing the market is fickle, I entered with only a few hundred shares. I'll add in the low 14's.
Russ
Re: KLIC. Thanks Jerry. Always appreciate your insights. I did buy a few at $15.25 this morning. Will add if it gets to the low 14's. Thanks.
Russ
Morning Jerry. Would you buy KLIC in the mid 15's? The convert didn't seem bad to me. Thanks.
Russ
LEXR. Does anybody have more info than this headline that just hit Briefing.Com. The stock immediately turned a little lower on what looks like it could be a cheap shot, IMO. Now rebounding a bit. Thanks. Russ

08:32 ET JCOM j2 Global reaffirms guidance, comments on price increases (28.38)
Co reaffirms guidance provided Oct 20. "We've only recently introduced the new prices to a portion of our existing base of customers and early indications are that the new prices are having only a modest impact on the retention of those customers. Despite these positive indications, we do expect the price changes to have some adverse effect on net subscriber additions and cancellation rates during the next couple of quarters. However, we believe the net effect of the price changes will contribute positively to the Company's subscriber revenues and earnings. Co also says that it believes there was confusion concerning its Q4 guidance, due to one analyst est being 50% higher than any other. "As a result, when j2 Global announced Q4 guidance, it came to the Company's attention that there was a perception that it was lowering expectations relative to the consensus. This was not the Company's intention, but rather resulted from this one analyst being far afield."
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- j2 Global Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: JCOM - News), the provider of outsourced, value-added messaging and communications services, today provided additional information and reaffirmed its financial guidance for Q4 2003. The Company also reported that for 2004 it is targeting more than 40% annual growth in revenues and more than 60% annual growth in pre-tax income. Additionally, the Company clarified its disclosure regarding taxes, stating that, although it expects to be reporting federal tax "expense" in its income statements for the balance of 2003 and for 2004, the actual payment of taxes will be substantially reduced by federal and state tax credits, the remaining NOL balance and future stock option deductions.

07:31 ET SNDK Sandisk growth expectations could be too high -- Barron's (80.60)
Barron's interviews Eric Ende, who runs the Los Angeles-based closed end fund Source Capital. Mr. Ende believes "Everything" is too expensive and the good news, for the most part, is already in the stocks. SNDK was one of his picks for Barron's during its lows with all indications that SanDisk's seasonally strong fourth quarter will be another boomer. While its memory products are selling like hotcakes and because NAND memory is in such short supply, pricing has been impressively firm. However, Mr.Ende believes this will not last despite its rosy growth outlook. The question remains whether the Christmas season will be good for the co and how much longer the NAND shortage will last. In addition, Samsung, which is the gorilla of the NAND memory market is adding slugs of new flash capacity as well.

Maine. Just so there's no misunderstanding, I was not faulting you for what happened here. We're all responsible for our own trades, for sure. I was merely stating that I thought it was surprising to see the private placement turn out this way, and yes, it does make me concerned about the company. But this in no way was intended to as anything personal toward you. I find you to be one of the most truthful and hard working posters on this board.
Russ
Maine. Concerning GERN, I guess it's not hard now to see why the price has been dropping so fast. I'm surprised they priced so low and didn't support the higher levels that so many people jumped in. Maybe I've got the wrong slant, but I'm really disappointed in what happened here, and it doesn't seem to speak well for the company, or their pricing power. Oh well. Nothing to do but hold until the next run up whenever that is.
Russ
GERN. Continues to be a thorn in my side on an otherwise good day. If it goes down to low 13's I'll double down.
