The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping":
"Bah, humbug!" No, that's too strong
'Cause it is my favorite holiday
But all this year's been a busy blur
Don't think I have the energy
To add to my already mad rush
Just 'cause it's 'tis the season.
The perfect gift for me would be
Completions and connections left from
Last year, ski shop,
Encounter, most interesting.
Had his number but never the time
Most of '81 passed along those lines.
So deck those halls, trim those trees
Raise up cups of Christmas cheer,
I just need to catch my breath,
Christmas by myself this year.
Calendar picture, frozen landscape,
Chilled this room for twenty-four days,
Evergreens, sparkling snow
Get this winter over with!
Flashback to springtime, saw him again,
Would've been good to go for lunch,
Couldn't agree when we were both free,
We tried, we said we'd keep in touch.
Didn't, of course, 'til summertime,
Out to the beach to his boat could I join him?
No, this time it was me,
Sunburn in the third degree.
Now the calendar's just one page
And, of course, I am excited
Tonight's the night, but I've set my mind
Not to do too much about it.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
But I think I'll miss this one this year.
Hardly dashing through the snow
Cause I bundled up too tight
Last minute have-to-do's
A few cards a few calls
'Cause it's r-s-v-p
No thanks, no party lights
It's Christmas Eve, gonna relax
Turned down all of my invites.
Last fall I had a night to myself,
Same guy called, halloween party,
Waited all night for him to show,
This time his car wouldn't go,
Forget it, it's cold, it's getting late,
Trudge on home to celebrate
In a quiet way, unwind
Doing Christmas right this time.
A&P has provided me
With the world's smallest turkey
Already in the oven, nice and hot
Oh damn! Guess what I forgot?
So on with the boots, back out in the snow
To the only all-night grocery,
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
In the line is that guy I've been chasing all year!
"I'm spending this one alone," he said.
"Need a break; this year's been crazy."
I said, "Me too, but why are you?
You mean you forgot cranberries too?"
Then suddenly we laughed and laughed
Caught on to what was happening
That Christmas magic's brought this tale
To a very happy ending! "
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't miss this one this year!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't miss this one this year!

Legg Mason's Miller optimistic on stocks for 2005
Wed Dec 8, 2004 05:31 PM ET
By Herbert Lash
NEW YORK, Dec 8 (Reuters) - Corporate profit growth is likely to be at least in the 10 percent range in 2005, and stocks markets could well keep pace with that rate, says Bill Miller, the star stock picker at Legg Mason Inc. (LM.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
Miller, whose Value Trust fund (LMTVX.O: Quote, Profile, Research) has outperformed the Standard & Poor's 500 Index for the past 13 years, is more optimistic than most for next year, citing a solid U.S. economy and an even better global economy.
He also expects very significant merger and acquisition activity over the next 12 months.
With record productivity growth, corporate profits and tax flows in recent years and company balance sheets "that are the best they've ever been," Miller says worries that stock prices have gotten pricey are misplaced.
Considering the overall outlook for the economy, "you'd not expect equity prices to be cheap. They're not expensive on a historical basis," he said at a press luncheon on Wednesday.
A sign that stocks are not too expensive was evident in the late November offer by General Electric Co. (GE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) , which is not known for a lack of financial discipline, to buy water treatment company Ionics Inc. (ION.N: Quote, Profile, Research) at a 48 percent premium.
Miller said he is so optimistic about the market that he is fully invested. He likes health care companies like Aetna Inc. (AET.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH.N: Quote, Profile, Research) , and large-cap financial stocks, such as Citigroup (C.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
Both banks have price-to-earnings ratios that are at about 40 percent less than the overall market and a return on equity that is higher than the overall market. Both banks also are buying back stock and increasing their dividends.
Miller said if American Express, which he views as "a great company," is trading at a higher price than Citigroup, but both have the same expected growth rates, he doesn't see why Citigroup can't trade up in price.
Two of the best-valued companies, Miller said, are Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN.O: Quote, Profile, Research) and IAC/InterActiveCorp (IACI.O: Quote, Profile, Research) . He owns the two companies, which are down about 25 percent this year and have dogged his Value Trust fund.
As for the fund itself, Miller says he has "no idea" if it would beat the S&P 500 this year. If one were to handicap his chances, "it's not out of the question, but there's not a high probability either," he said.
Year to date, the Value Trust fund is up 5.2 percent. That lags the reinvested returns of its benchmark, the S&P 500, which has gained 7.6 percent.

there may be some erroneous info being thrown around......according to article, KMRT only sold some mall stores to Sears, not real estate. I haven't done further digging though.
Regards.
Kmart even sold some stores to Sears as the department store operator tried to move away from mall locations.

AD: I agree on the quality issue with GM...........never bought one. In fact, the 300M was my first American car purchase, owned Nissans & Hondas. My wife drives the Odyssey.
Only reason I bought the 300M was the great deal........
Same car was at CarMax for $28K, bought it for $21,900.
It's been pretty much worry free.......

I'll never buy new again...........drive a 2000 Chrysler 300M, bought used.........
Hey, what's not to like locking in zero for 6 years or 3.9 for 10 .......
She is recommending GM's "Lock and Roll" program.
If you buy a car before the end of the month, and get zero percent financing, when you go to buy another GM car again down the road, you get the same financing rate...........not a bad deal.
http://www.detnews.com/2004/autosinsider/0411/10/A01-1462.htm
GM is currently offering zero-percent financing on 36-month loans, 2.9 percent financing on 48-month loans and 3.9 percent on 60-month loans for eligible buyers. The second vehicle must be purchased before the expiration of the financing period on the first purchase.
The deal applies to all GM brands, including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Pontiac, Hummer, Saab and Saturn.

TASR
Suspect Dies While Being Taken Into Custody
(Rockville-AP) -- Seven police officers in Montgomery County have been placed on administrative leave after authorities say a man died while being taken into custody last night.
The officers were called to the 400 block of Washington Grove Lane about 9:15 last night, where they say 45-year-old Eric Woller had been physically assaulting his 80-year-old mother.
Police say they used a taser weapon to subdue Woller -- after he ignored officers' commands to get down on the ground. A taser is designed to temporarily subdue a person by delivering an electrical shock.
As they moved in to make an arrest, authorities say Woller suddenly lost consciousness. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but was later pronounced dead.
Police say the cause of death remains under investigation.
