Svatos;
I saw this on the news a couple of days ago. Really interesting.
I love the fact that it is so re-newable. Glad Harry and the crew already qualified it as a fuel source. Very forward thinking on there part.

To be fair,
Press Release Source: Cyclone Power Technologies, Inc.
Cyclone Power Technologies Tests Emissions of Its Green Engine; Expects to Exceed 2011 EPA Standards at No Added Cost
Wednesday September 10, 8:30 am ET
POMPANO BEACH, FL--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 10, 2008 -- Cyclone Power Technologies Inc. (Other OTC:CYPW.PK - News) announced today the results of greenhouse gas emissions testing conducted on the award-winning Cyclone Engine.
The tests were performed four times on the fuel combustion system of the company's 3HP propane-fueled engine, and then on a 2007 3HP gas-powered lawn mower engine. Compared to the standard lawn mower, the Cyclone Engine produced the following test results:........
You know the rest.....
Lets not take our eyes off the ball here folks, its not just about emissions. That is just a qualifier....

Alvin Toffler:
So, recently I had the pleasure of hearing Alvin Toffler speak at an event I attended. In case you’re not sure who he is, see this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_Toffler
I was absolutely blown away by this man. His insight and common sense approach to the world around us was both refreshing and eye opening.
Now, I am sure you’re asking “Why does this mean anything to us here?”
Let me explain. Mr. Toffler told us that there are 3 deep fundamentals to all companies in the world. These are above and beyond the fundamentals that we are all familiar with. Without being strong in these 3 deep fundamentals, everything else is for not.
They are:
Time
Space
Knowledge
He proposed that a company needs to be deep in these fundamentals to be successful in our world economy. To elaborate:
Time: The product/service needs to be timely and needed right now.
Space: It needs to be coming into a market that isn’t already flooded with like products.
Knowledge: The product needs be coming from strength in this area. For example, something no one else has thought of etc.
My point, our investment here has all of these hallmarks in my opinion. I trust Alvin Toffler, and so have some of the most influential people in the world.

Cee-it,
I have used water lub bearings in food processing for years. They last forever. Mute point. VERY proven technology. Your right on.

feinanddandy,
So what, the test ARENT CERTIFIED RIGHT!!! ROFLMAO...
Awesome news, easily repeatable!!!!
Rock on longs!!!
FrazDog
Graj,
Thanks for taking the time for us all. Great post!!!
FrazDog
Hello all,
Graj, nice to see you again. Looking forward to your report from the show.
FrazDog
Hiya Piece,
Welcome back. Hope the VACA treated you well.

Love the Discussion,
Being an engineer I love seeing the numbers being cut up like that. One question tho, being a newbie, by what model are you applying the numbers. Where do you derive that from?

FrazDog
Hello all,
Just jumped in today.
FrazDog
Piece,
They could also be "Piloted". Just like the home gas fireplaces, furnaces, and water heaters are. This would of course waste some energy but it would maintain the ambient temp so that the engine could start faster in colder climates.
Just a thought.
Now back to lurking.

P.S. Any word from out mutal friend?

Ethanol and propane,
Hey folks, I know the whole ethanol argument in regards to food supply an such. May be worth your while to take a second look at this. Seems Brazil and other countries are already using it and propane succesfully. Just an fyi.
FrazDog
Hello all,
Great new news. Just my opinion, if we are already looking into manufacturing techniques then I would say we should be seeing some real world test results soon.
oh, The ignore feature of this site works great btw.
FrazDog
Fasten the seatbelts!!!!
Dotell,
Well put, we are a liquid fuel society. even the areas that use the compressed gases are far outnumbered by those that are not. I really think that the letter to AG needs to impress upon him the uses in industry for recovering waste heat. Its just my hunch that this will be the real big hitter at first. I not saying that the automobile applications arent great, I just see the testing and certification processes for it taking a lot longer. The HTSB is going to need to know what happens to these engines in a head on collision kinda thing. Not really a problem when your bolting it to the roof of a building. Thats why I was after the waste heat projections.
I do agree with Piece that its prolly premature right now to take this deep of a dive in a letter. We need to peak the interest first.
As piece says, if you need me to expound on my previous post about waste heat I would be more than happy.
Also, if I remember right from the white papers, and correct me if im wrong, all you need is 100 deg C or more for the supercritical to work. I know at least 15 places in New England that have that kind of waste heat right now. I know one place that spends 4 million a year on natural gas thats spouting 1148 deg C out of like 15 20+MMBTU furnaces. Just think of say 10% of that going back to the bottom line. Thats a ton of money. Can you say ROI!!!!!
Regards,
FrazDog
BTW the ignore function on this site works GREAT!!! You should try it. What was the name of that restaurant everone went to on happy days? EG!!! ;)
Dotell, Graj and anyone else,
I have been trying to find some statisctics on waste heat for the letter to Al Gore. Do any of you all have a line on this kind of info. Would be nice to use some real numbers.
FrazDog
One search on google, lookie what I found.
Its FUD-TASTIC!!!!
You might think a judgment of non-infringement would end the matter. Usually, but not always, it does. Remember one thing, the court's ruling was a factually specific comparison of the features of the FasTrac design and the particular claims of the '202 patent. That comparison ended favorably to Regal. However, Mr. Schoell had other weapons at hand.
In 1997, shortly after the lawsuit discussed above was filed, Mr. Schoell filed another patent application. This was a so-called "reissue application" which, because it was filed within two years from the issue date of the '202 patent, is entitled to broaden the claims of the parent. In other words, if a reissue application is filed within two years of its parent, the applicant can remove particular limitations from the claims of the parent case. This is exactly what Mr. Schoell appears to have done.
The reissue application eventually issued as the '879 reissue patent. To this new patent, Mr. Schoell had added eight independent claims. While similar in many respects to the claims of the '202 patent, notably lacking in many is a specific limitation of a "generally flat aft keel." In fact, many claims merely require "an aft keel" with no specific geometry, or an aft keel "different from" the forward keel.
Currently, the author is unaware of any renewed litigation or negotiation based on the '879 reissue patent, but the prospects seem likely. Consider that the original patent infringement lawsuit took more than 5 years and two separate court proceedings. Regal won by failing to have a "generally flat aft keel." Mr. Schoell reissued his patent with claims omitting this requirement. The costs of another patent infringement lawsuit would quickly reach hundreds of thousands, if not, millions of additional dollars.
Consider also, that although Regal is not listed as an owner or assignee of any US Patents, it refers to its FasTrac design as "patented."
Yes it is, and that patent seems to be owned by a Mr. Harry Schoell.

Cmon Graj!!! Take one for the team!!
ROFLMAO!!!!
FrazDog
Piece,
I have a customer that makes components for fuel cells. The biproducts are really nasty.
What harry is prolly talking about is what dotell hit on. The energy required to make it is more that you get out of burning it. Check some of dotells post on this subject. If you could use say, wind energy to make it, then it becomes more feasable.

There are no rules here! We are trying to accomplish something! "Thomas Edison"
I disagree,
The Reynolds numbers, are a measurement of “turbulence.” This is more influenced by the size shape and design of the combustion chamber. Some fuels convert there energy to heat faster than others. However in a adequately turbulent environment with the correct air ratio efficiency will not be compromised. This is how power plants can use multiple fuels in the same boilers effectively. The delivery methods may be different. For example you can’t deliver powdered coal the same way you deliver fuel oil to the combustion chamber. But obtaining complete combustion still provides the theoretical same amount of btu’s provided by fuel supplied. Volumetrically, btu’s are different according to fuel selected. Coal has more btu's per cubic inch than say wood because its more dense.
Don’t confuse the pre-combustion to post-combustion Reynolds values. I am only speaking as to post-combustion.

Piece,
I am in Manch-Vegas now. Had a house 1 mile from Winisquam until this january.
FrazDog
No I would not agree,
Reynolds numbers are VERY important when the combustion is volumetric. Gaps in circulation or dead space can lead to "smokey fire" regardles of the amount of excess air applied. One must also consider that excess air removes energy thus not allowing required heat to remain where it needs to be applied.
FrazDog
CTB,

Waste Heat Co-Generation
Dotell, you right on the money. I work in and around heavy industry everyday. I wish I could share the E-Mails I have exchanged with Dr. Myres here, however, I can not. Let’s just leave it at that. Waste heat recovery for ANY return is a huge marketplace in our world today. Reducing the energy footprint for companies is of the utmost importance. Most of these energy saving plans are even subsidized by the utility. So the total cost of ownership or the ROI for waste heat engines to electricity could be nil. This is a very exciting technology all things considered.
In my educated opinion, I sell-design-build energy conservation systems literally every day, this is the real hammer on the nail. No National transportation certifications. Little to no liability concerns. Just taking the billions of mmbtu’s this country and others vent into the atmosphere everyday, and convert that lost energy into electricity.
A simple 10% return would impact a company’s bottom line enormously. I have a customer right now that spends 4 million dollars a year to gas fire furnaces. The exhaust gas from these does nothing right now but vent to atmosphere. Imagine putting 10% of that amount back to the bottom line.
Now way that against the added ability to reduce CO or NOX while co-gening and you really got a hot commodity.

FrazDog
Piece,
I fear you may think that I am singling you out or somehow disagree with your tireless attention to this board. I assure you that I am NOT!!!
My point is, to wax all biblical for a moment, "Don’t cast your pearls before swine."
Your insight and postings have been appreciated.
I also agree with everything you say in your response to me.
Over and over again I have seen yours, and others, well researched and thought out responses being boiled down to one sentence replies or FUDs. (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt). FUDs are an old sales toll used to create distrust in a competitor’s product. It’s textbook. Trust me, I know, I have over 4,000 customers and use it all the time. ROFL
***Disclamer**
To answer the next boneheaded question I am sure is gonna come from my above statement “I AM NOT IMPLIENG THAT THERE IS A COMPETITIVE PRODUCT!”
*************
I hate to see you and others getting bogged down in a dialogue that simply bears no fruit.
This is all I mean.
Sincere Regards,
FrazDog
I am an engineer.
I Specialized in Stoichiometric Combustion controls and have a large amount of experience in power generation. I have spoke with the owner of advent. BUT WHO CARES.
I have answered questions, given thoughtful insight, all to see the same tired rhetoric repeated over and over, just reframed. I can’t figure what the true agenda here is except to be just a pain in the butt. I also can’t believe that the rest of you continue to type long dissertation style answers to these folks. They don’t get it, or don’t want to. OKAY!!! Let it go. Stop giving the jester an audience for god sake!!!
FrazDog
There are no rules here! We are trying to accomplish something! "Thomas Edison"
Junk,
Thanks for the insight. Well put. I hardly considered the "Junkies" point of view. Guess I cant relate...LOL
FrazDog
Junk,
I agree again. My point is that people are taking a standpoint that attacks the person and NOT the opinion. This I feel serves no good and is "caustic" to the discussion.
I can see your position and interest. I appreciate that you are "on the sidelines" waiting for the stock. What I don’t understand is why people so against the stock feel the need to stick around and keep arguing the same points over and over again. Its apparent they aren’t going to buy it and have stated the reasons why. GOT IT!!!! So why keep coming back and fighting. I would think there time would be better spent finding real opportunities for them selves. UNLESS as you state, there really is a boogie man!!!! LOL
You can see why people become so suspicious. What point does arguing the same points over and over again serve to the respective individual?
FrazDog
Junk,
Your opinion applies to life in general. ROFL
I agree with you whole heartedly. However, I still can’t fathom people not having a vested interest being so darn contrary.
The ad homonym attacks are really poisonous. I have noticed that you are able to voice your opinion without being caustic. I even found my self starting to go down the road of personal attacks but have made a decision to NOT do this anymore.
I am long in this stock because I believe in the technology. I also believe in putting my money where my mouth is, and in doing so I am trying to fund things that I feel can make a better future for my kids.
I really don’t believe that everyone in here thinks that this is the second coming. Hope is a very powerful motivator is it not?
Regards,
FrazDog
CTB...
I agree with you. My bad for not being clear.
FrazDog
Funny aint it!
I may be wrong but aren’t we having a clash of trading styles?
Between Shorts and Longs. As I see it, both have very valid points from there point of view.
On another note. I to miss the times when the discussion was less caustic. Graj, sorry to hear about the deletions. I have been lurking for the most part waiting for the torrent to blow over.
I still have a hard time understanding why people with no vested interest would spend so much time fighting about something.
Its almost like we need to boards, a Longs one and a Shorts one.
Regards,
FrazDog
Thanx for the info Piece......
Hey Graj, you still out there?
FrazDog
I Agree,
The cancer research seems intersesting. According to PESwiki there are universities testing his solutions now. Time will tell. BUT!!!! As Dotell was speaking of earlier, if it produces hydrogen, it may be just the solution to more practically make hydrogen available. Its supposed to be more efficient than current methods.
FrazDog
P.S. I am not saying over-unity here. I am an engineer so I am a skeptic first. ROFL!!!!!
There are no rules here! We are trying to accomplish something! "Thomas Edison"
Dotell,
Watch this!!!
Yup, Im sure they and Raytheon are lying about it.
Its all part of a huge conspiracy!!! They staged press releases from both companies!

Hydrogen is an AWESOME fuel.
Dotell is right on the money with the idea of using solar or something else non-poluting to produce Hydrogen.
