Is there a range we are looking for?
0.02% CBD am I missing something here, is that good, seems negligible?
Unreal,
Now I am confused, I don't mind the Sunrise, but Liver trials, complete or not?
Aarggh, red start days really bothers me, almost as bad as red finish days.
And while we are at it, if anyone can put together something about Cotara as well, I will definitely post that, especially on the site I saw this morning. Heck, maybe we can start a public outcry to get this drug going!!
Exactly my point, I was definitely thinking that would help google or web searches as well. I am sure 20 or 30 of us here can bombard cancer forums, and social media with this information.
Anyone willing to put up a blurb that can be posted regarding our Phase III Lung, included links to videos and contact info to be enrolled or start then in the right direction?
Hutschi,
I like the facebook, or any type of social media, 5 minutes before you posted this morning, I was going through my own facebook and saw a page about a reporter who announced on TV that he only had a few months to live as a result of a Brain Tumor(it was on theblaze.com). There were 14,900 likes and 2,500 comments. Obviously I would like to post about Cotara. I am sure there are many other instances of people with lung cancer, etc. Social Media is a huge way to get it out to the public. Maybe someone here can put a few blurbs together that we can post on public sites, facebook, cancer forums etc. of what is actually going on in trials, how to find it etc., and then the rest of us who use social media can go out and post it.
Just a thought, but why not promote our own company.
Absolutely CP, especially with the internet nowadays. My wife got pre-diagnosed with something just last week, they scheduled her an appointment with a specialist. Before she even arrived, she had researched about every other possible diagnosis, treatments and additional tests and treatments that were possible.
If she had to be treated, there is no doubt she would have been looking for treatments and where they could be done.
"I have a simple answer to all this CP. Two of Peregrines phase II trials were tampered with as you well know. Maybe, just maybe they are trying to NOT advertise to the world were they can be tampered with."
MD,
I don't think it is the world we are worrying about, it is the BP's, and they don't have to look far or hard to actually see where all these trials are ongoing. Do you think for one second that any major BP doesn't have eyes and ears in every major hospital or oncology event. This concept of keeping quiet bothers me the most, since I have no doubts BP knows exactly what is going on.
Hmmm,
Maybe there is a reason why small biotechs like PPHM have trouble enrolling patients quickly. I wonder how much money being spent by BP's willing to sabotage links, websites and Phase II trials!!
Nah, they wouldn't do that, wonder how that CSM case is unfolding, if my recollection serves me right, discovery to be made by December. LEt's see if we settle out before then.
That is for sure, lawyers would have a field day with that. Any mishaps in this trial and you can say goodbye.
No doubt that what is posted on this board is seen by employees at PPHM, and would be easily traceable as well.
Talk about a roller coaster ride, every time you start feeling good, you see more of this noncompetence.
Lets get it together Boys!!
"Is this reply to your satisfaction :) As we are approaching the end-game in some, apparently, unforeseen acceleration I can become a little looser, you must have noticed :) "
I like the sound of "unforeseen acceleration", I think that will be my new buzz word for the weekend and will just savor the thoughts of that.
GLTA
Very interesting read CP, sounds like you are more confident than ever!!
BDU,
Bringing back the memories of the good old days, when pigs were cured and viral was the talk of the town, and the good ole Duke stories. I recall footsie, but can't think of the handle, think Miss PPHM was miss katiescarlet or something . The good ole days of Jazzbeerman pulling it apart and when everyone hung on Big on Tarvy's monthly sermon, lol to calm us down.
We have had some good ole times, The .25 cent swings from .50 to 3.00 when I first got in, and of course The nice move up before the Sept 2012 fiasco.
A lot of people here have been here a long time and have been very patient longs, let's hope this next 12 months brings us some more good ole times, and let's hope we aren't still here another 10 years rehashing the same old songs.
Wow,
Definitely much better explanation in layman terms, I would send that to everyone I knew who could benefit from this cancer program. I think I will have to watch it again 2-3 times. I haven't looked at the third yet.
Thanks,
I will go back and look and watch both. Funny when I was done watching it, I though I saw 2 and clicked on the other, but it didn't come up. Does it actually distinguish between the two.
Just watched that video of Bavituximab on the Sunrise Trial website, what a great video, but seems it is geared toward the doctors. I wonder if there could be something that the average person with lung cancer would look at that isn't so medically verbage oriented.
Agreed, so let's follow up with some decent news and confirmation.
7 and 26 now!!
Agreed, I think volume would do wonders for a lift off here. Been pretty busy with wrapping up corporate extensions, but over all feelings with CC and comments afterward giving me that excited feeling again. I have always believed it is a question of when, not if, but feeling it will be quicker than the end of next year.
The end of this year for a Xmas gift would be very nice.
I would be surprised to not see the volume start picking up next week or maybe even this , back to 1.5 -2.0 million per shares a day. Obviously most of us here aren't selling.
On another note to see the Colonel (CJ) actually post as much as he has and who is normally pretty middle of the road( straight shooter) be a little bit more giddy about things, made me pick up add a few more today.
Thanks CJ and God Bless You today!! "It is Well With My Soul Today"!!
Bid,
I think I read a post of yours a while back asking about garnick being added to the Board of Directors on a conference call do you remember the response?
Didnt have a chance to listen, overall grades and comfort level from the rest of you?
No garnick again, hmmm maybe a power struggle?
Is conf call at 4:30 EST
I have heard you talk about Peer Groups before also, but now after actually reading the Proxy from beginning to end, see where the company actually lists and compares itself to those Peer groups. Everyone should read this Proxy, as well as the Charters and Governance of the company under the Investors section of Peregrine's website.
Interesting
Jake,
Just happen to be researching what you are talking about, since I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about Robert Garnick and why he hasn't been named to the BOD, as I started looking around some very interesting things I wasn't aware of:
1)From the proxy statement: It is nice to know that management thinks our vote is very important:
General Information
Your vote is very important. For this reason, the Board of Directors of Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a
Delaware corporation (referred to as “we,” “us,” “our,” “Company,” or “Peregrine”), is soliciting your proxy to vote
your shares of common stock at the 2014 Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the “Annual Meeting”), or at any
continuation, postponement or adjournment thereof, for the purposes discussed in this Proxy Statement and in the
accompanying Notice of Annual Meeting and any business properly brought before the Annual Meeting.
Only problem is our votes in regards to the Board of Directors, whether yay or nay is a non vote since they technically only need one vote to get on. Love the statement "NO PRACTICAL EFFECT"
The first proposal on the agenda for the Annual Meeting will be electing four directors to serve until the next
annual meeting or until their successors are elected. There are four nominees for the four currently authorized seats on
our Board of Directors. Unless authority to vote for directors has been withheld in the proxy, the persons named in the
enclosed proxy intend to vote at the Annual Meeting FOR the election of the nominees presented below.
Under Delaware law, the four nominees receiving the highest number of votes will be elected as directors at the
Annual Meeting. As a result, proxies voted to “Withhold Authority” and broker non-votes will have no practical effect.
2) What is really interesting though is when you look at the nominating committee charter
EXHIBIT A
Procedures for Stockholders Submitting Nominating Recommendations
1. Security Holders Entitled to Make Submissions. The Nominating Committee of the
Company's Board of Directors will accept for consideration submissions from stockholders of
recommendations for the nomination of directors. Acceptance of a recommendation for
consideration does not imply that the Committee will nominate the recommended candidate.
2. Manner and Address for Submission. All stockholder nominating recommendations must be in
writing, addressed to the Nominating Committee care of the Company's corporate secretary at
the Company's principal headquarters, 14272 Franklin Avenue, Suite 100, Tustin, California
92780. Submissions must be made by mail, courier or personal delivery. E-mailed submissions
will not be considered.
3. Information Concerning the Recommending Stockholders. A nominating recommendation
must be accompanied by the following information concerning each recommending stockholder:
• The name and address, including telephone number, of the recommending stockholder;
• The number and class of the Company's shares owned by the recommending stockholder
and the time period for which such shares have been held;
• If the recommending stockholder is not a stockholder of record, a statement from the
record holder of the shares (usually a broker or bank) verifying the holdings of the
stockholder and a statement from the recommending stockholder of the length of time
that the shares have been held. (Alternatively, the stockholder may furnish a current
Schedule 13D, Schedule 13G, Form 3, Form 4 or Form 5 filed with the Securities and
Exchange Commission reflecting the holdings of the stockholder, together with a
statement of the length of time that the shares have been held); and
• A statement from the stockholder as to whether the stockholder has a good faith intention
to continue to hold the reported shares through the date of the Company's next annual
meeting of stockholders.
3) Lastly and most importantly to those of us who have asked and have wanted to have Garnick appointed to the BOD. From what I am reading, looks like Garnick would be disqualified under the "Outside Director rules, since he has been compensated by the company in some capacity.
Question: Has anyone ever been recommended to the Nominating Committeee?
Have we received any updated coverage from Charles Duncan at Piper in a while?
Can anyone point me to actual voting results from last year, thanks in advance.
By the way, I have definitely had a few laughs this morning, some of you guys crack me up, literally fell off my chair this morning.
Stone,
I think this post hits the nail on the head for the majority of the longs on this board. How can you not feel frustrated after all the years we have held strong, I know you as most of the rest of us here have been pretty positive, even though there have been countless setbacks along the way. There have been things that have happened that a movie could have been written about. We obviously understand that the phase II sabotage was unforeseen ( of course we haven't seen all the details) , and would like to assume management had no fault in any of that. But let's not forget that there have been many other things over the years that just make you shake your head. Ultimately the prize is a buyout, partnership or drug approval for Bavi Lung , and this is the closest we have been.so anticipation is great.
But, how can you not have some doubts in the back of your mind, based upon past performances and the many times we thought that yes just 6 more months, just the next ASCO conference, KYOTO is the one, I can go on. We have al hung on the words of the ones that are here to protect us, saying it all makes sense, sounds plausible, they have it figured out, only to be let down. Maybe we shouldn't get our hopes up. But dammit, unless I am a complete fool, I can put the pieces together to, it seems black and white to me. and BINGO, that's the part that drives most of us crazy, if it seems black and white, then why can't this management team get it done.
I mean are you kidding me, 100% cure rate for the swine flu! and can't be reinfected, 40 million govt contract, both on the viral side, what happened there? Duke paper, did we actually get one? A potential brain cancer drug that has blown away any other treatment out there. 85% response rate in breast cancer( boy that wouldn't be a popular one), And every one and their mother getting in on the immunotherapy craze, that supposedly we own every single patent on .
Ya, God forbid you should bitch about managements lack of getting a deal done, but I am sure Mary Boyd and Worsely were brought on for that. Quite frankly instead of complaining that we are bitching, some people should be kissing our ass that we have stayed on and supported this stock for years because we believe that this really is the "Microsoft of Biotech", when the normal investor would have said, enough is enough.
I am a lot younger than most of the investors here, and I can truly feel for the guys older than me who have hung on even longer as well. We have a right to bitch, and contrary to what some who can do nothing but defend management to kingdom come say, it doesn't necessarily mean we are trying to undermine the company.
Lastly, I hope that if this BOD doesn't bring Bavi to the finish line by the end of next year, or doesn't get every penny us longs deserve, that the same people who are defending them, will have the balls that some of us have to call them out as well. Apologies for any language, but you hit this right on, and struck a chord.
Lol, i guess i interpreted that a little differently. I was thinking of actual shareholders with voting rights creating accountability and aligning with shareholders best interests , "increased shareholder value as reflected in market share price and market cap."
Interesting, i wonder how many other publicly traded companies have that in place. Id that common?
The strongest and most important mechanism that arguably could ensure that shareholder interests are served is the shareholder franchise. The power of shareholders to elect the directors. This power is one that corporate statutes provide and that courts view as fundamental element of the corporate structure.
The power to replace directors, it might be argued, can ensure that shareholders have their way with respect to all matters that are significant to them and on which they have clear preferences.
If management does not follow shareholder preferences with respect to such matters, the argument goes, then shareholders will replace the management team with one that will do so. Furthermore, shareholders? power to replace management will ensure that management generally heeds shareholders? preferences to begin with, making replacement unnecessary.
Thus, on this view, even if actual replacement of the current directors happens infrequently, the power of shareholders to cause such replacement will have a forceful effect on management and generally induce it to follow shareholders? preferences.
According to the above argument, the power to replace management will have an effect with respect to all issues of importance to shareholders; ?the very issues for which intervention power is a meaningful possibility. On such matters, it is argued, a management team straying from shareholder interests would meaningfully increase its chances of ouster, which would strongly discourage such straying. Thus, even if the power to replace management cannot guarantee that shareholder interests will be served on issues of little significance for shareholders, this power can be expected to ensure that shareholder interests will be served on those matters for which allowing direct action is a serious alternative.
This expected outcome, the argument concludes, makes shareholder intervention power wholly unnecessary.
North,
Hate to say it, but 4 or 5 of us with over 250K shares most likely wouldn't cause any ruckus at the ASM. I had put out a feeler for share counts back in June 2013 in case at any time there was something we could do together as a group that would benefit us as shareholders. I have a list (private and confidential) of shareholders that total between 8- 10 million shares. I was hoping for about 16 million, which would have been about 10% of the outstanding shares at that time.
I know for sure there were and are many shareholders on this board that didn't send me their share count and email addresses.
Not sure if we as a group at any point in time could do anything, but you never know, and at least we have some contingency. Obviously if anything would ever come to trying to get a group together to have a voice, I would not be able to share that list and each person would have to be contacted personally about what we were thinking.
Obviously, I believe we are all hoping for best, it has been a long time for me, and a long, long time for others. The real question is how long is to long, where if you are backed into a corner then you have to push back.
If anyone, who hasn't sent me their email and share count wants to be added to the list, feel free to email me at bktaxman@gmail.com or PM on ihub.
As, I remember, I think we were all pissed off back that we were at 1.47, and management wasn't sharing info with us, or moving things along. I think some commented that it should only be a few more months or something would happen by year end. Not sure how much things have changed, although I am very happy with the Phase III process. Something still amiss though!!
Hoping Tuesday night doesn't turn into a laugher.
So let me see if I understand this
We have great results in breast cancer trials and liver trials.
We could be very well enrolling or enrolled in our phase III trial at least the number of sites up or running or potentially double that, we have obviously started dosing as well, and maybe quite a bit.
Yet we are to believe that management is keeping all this close to vest and quiet in the best interests of the company and the shareholders, albeit drug tampering, showing our hand or whatever.
For the life of me , I still do not understand why this company is not screaming from the rooftops, if they are actually performing and have the results that are touted here on a daily basis. Why do we as members of this board have to dig into every realm possible looking for answers that should be fully disclosed from this company. Isn't it there fiduciary responsibility.
275K strong, but geez already!! Sign a dam partnership, time is not, repeat is not on our side. 2 years from sabotage fiasco already!!
Oops, thought it was 175 million
Have to agree with you there, if we only double with any of those, it will be a travesty. If we don't get at least get a quadruple from here, then we have been hanging on for the wrong reasons.
All I know is I hope we sign something soon, since the continued approval of these PD-1 drugs, immune drugs makes our final approval less significant. And can't even begin to imagine us fighting anyone big BP over an infringement on our patents, they would drag it on forever.
Still can not believe that with almost 200 million in the bank, Avid worth at least 50 million, that we are at a market cap of less than 300 million.
SO Bavi is worth?
Dam,
No news today
Hmmm,
You think they could attract Rob Garnick to sit on the board, that might add a tiny bit of credibility to us!!
Talk about a slow drip (72K shares traded).All this talk about BTD, Partnership, and big announcements;
Either everyone is tight as a drum, or well you know the or...
Hoping for the former, but volume indicates the latter.
