Well, I guess I won't be posting here anymore. Need to find a place where investment matters can be discussed in an open medium. Good-bye.
Well, it should not be odd. But I have also posted on ICTN & NMKT. However, to answer your question, the reason I post so much here is because this is my largest investment, and outside the other two mentioned above, one of which is obviously related to this one, the rest of my portfolio is conservative, and, as such, not worth the bother checking out those boards. I play the market on a regular basis, and over the years (more than 30), I have owned hundreds of different stocks, and looked into more that a thousand. I am past the point in life where I can gamble big time, so I don't. However, I can afford to choose one or two outfits in which to put a hefty sum of money for the chance that maybe I will cross a financial threshhold that will put me in the seven digit club. And, of all the investment I have checked out, I chose this one. At one time it was MOBL, and I made a lot of money there, but I finally realized that there were problems in that company, and I shifted those funds here. So, it would seem to me that I have a good reason for making this the board I go to. I don't have the time or the inclination to go jumping from board to board, and my eye-sight is getting poor, so I could not spend hours sitting in front of a computer visiting boards all the time even if I wanted to. In the 70's investors went to the broker's office, and many developed a sort of conradship in the process. I guess that is not possible in this medium.
MWM,
I have done nothing for which I should be banned. The MOBL board banned me for telling the truth, and guess what? Everything I said, and the reasons I gave for getting out of that stock have all come true. Now, they have people over there exposing view points far more negative than mine were, and nobody is getting banned.
Here, I have not even been negative. I have asked a lot of questions to have my concerns answered, and overall they have been answered in such a way that I am still an investor, and this is still my biggest position. So, I cannot be a subject to a band on account of my position. As to my satirical approach, why isn't that others can engage on some light laughter, and I may not? You need to give me a break, and quit taking offense so easily. I have never taken offense with what others say, so lighten up. My comments are not meant to make you mad; they are meant to make you smile.
You mean I won't be invited to the huggy-huggy, kissy-kissy phase of the bash in Seattle that is to take place during the stockholders meeting aimed at celebrating the one millionth customer? You break my heart!
Here is the improvement of RLTR in the Alexa rankings:

Fabulous! Just one contract with one major studio, and will all will be rich.
Well, I hope my little plug got some people interested in visiting the RLTR website. I think porno can be a great way to make some money. I envision reeltime.adult.com, or something to that effect, as a possibility with great potential for making money.
Oh my, Oh my! Foolish me. I got all confused there. I thought RLTR sold wiggets. I thank you for the bottom of my heart for having straighten me out.
The SLJB stock pattern has a lot of resemblance to the one for RLTR except for the last two weeks. If I were a technician, I might be worried. Toss all those share into the pot with all the other stuff and mail it to: 123 Dream Drive, Dream Town, Dream State, USA. Anyway, I have a lot more hope for the future of the paper certificate that I do for the other stuff. The other alternative is to keep the stuff and burn it in Seattle during the meeting of millionaires a couple of years down the road.
What are you? A junk collector? I'll buy them all from you. Send me a thousand dollars first, and then I'll tell you where to mail the stuff.
Thank you MWM & Griz
Thank you. That is all I wanted. I thank you once again.
You have never given me a response--at least in this round.
Are any of the principals of RLTR also owners of stock in the privately held Grid Networks?
Can anybody here answer the question I asked?
If that is what you think, why do you bother answering my posts. But, can you answer the question I asked?
No. Don't put words in my mouth. What posters say in a site such as this could lead an investor to drop the research they are doing on a company or to continue doing research. It is a step in the proccess. And any step in the process can be the step that tilts the scales. And, by the fact that some people here cannot answer or refuse to answer certain questions lead me to believe that they are not far from doing just what you suggest I implied, which I did not.
I am a skeptic. I don't get my info from investor relations departments. They generally tend to be the biggest pumpers of a company. Having worked for some businesses in positions of management, I know how the game is played.
The fact is that if you knew you would give me the answer. All of these entries might have been read by some people considering investing. If I were one, and were trying to learn about the company, the way some of you have replied to my concerns could be enough to stop me from investing if I did not already know that investors tend to be mindless about their holdings, and should not be paid to much attention when they act like some of you do. But everybody doesn't know that.
MWM,
Yes, I know the types who made big money in one investment or two just to lose it all later because they were so cocky. I cannot see why you and some others continue to cut me down simply because I want some answers as well as concerns. And more so because I tell you that you should reflect some on your undying optimism. That's like trying to bite the hands that feeds you. I posed a question a couple of hours back, and no one yet as seen fit to answer it. May it be that no one here knows the answer? If I were in your place and knew the answer, and it was to allay someone's concern, I would not answer by attacking that person, but by trying to provide relevant information. I have my answer by the way some of you have treated my concerns. You don't know.
Whether positive or negative, answers and constructive statements will be made by those who know what they are talking about. That certainly does not apply to you. It applies to someone like Agent07, who used to post here, providing as it was, plenty of links, etc. so that others could made informed decisions. Cookies, accolades, etc, no, I don't care about any of that stuff. There is no reason for you to think such a thing. It just goes to show where your mind is at. With your attitude, you are a prime candidate to some day lose money big time. I hope for your sake that you reflect before it is too late. Positive info is easy to come by. Companies make sure of that. The caveats you have to dig for, which is what most people are unwilling to do because it takes work.
The mean attitude that some of you display with your words is a sign of your own hden fears. I have seen it before--many times. Don't take it out on me. Don't close yourselves of to the possibilities that this may not go anywhere. Look at the reality of the situation, and make objective decisions. Even if you are objective, you will make mistakes for everything about an investment is not known to you. The only thing that you may have on your side more than the avergae person is your abililty to be objective. If you have any solid reasons for being invested her, post them. I would certainly like to read them. But personal attacks (including mild ones) to not go to the point. Who I am is irrelevant to the investment. So don't use it as an excuse to dismiss my comentaries. That goes for eveybody.
You don't even know what the word "think" means. It doesn't mean "make-believe". as some of you here are very fun of doing. In the long run those who do not look at the whole picture, and fail to see where danger may lurk ultimatedly will suffer the consequences. I hope, for your sake, that most of you learn to be skeptical before you get burned in the market. I have been investing for over 30 years, and I have seen too many investors who have gotten badly burned because of their tendency to stick their heads in the sand. Laugh all you want to, but when you cry, because of RLTR or some other investment, you will cry alone--and even have your spouse leave you. I've seen it. So, wise up, and always be looking for the possibility that you made a mistake. My holdings of RLTR is down tho less than 15% of my portfolio, and I will get out on the next upswing unless I see some development. Remember, many here were talking big before the launch in early september. Then, it was going to go after the trip to LA. Then the trip to Europe. Then just before Thanksgiving. Where is the beef? If there was any in the pot all of this time, we would already be smelling it.
I'm started to think that we got duped. RLTR gave away control of the technology, and, although we can use it, we were left out to hang at the whim of the big studios. I wonder if the big shots at RLTR own stock in the privately held Grid Networks.
And the way they display what is available is so much neater than ours.
Thanksgiving has come and gone.
And now what? Where are the contracts with the big studios?
Not many companies in the 15-25% range. And generally those up there have already made the big move. I am willing to wait a bit longer to see what happens.
brook,
I understand your concerns. I feel very certain that this is not a scam. What I cannot guarantee you is that this business will be successful. Some of your fear are well placed; others are not. Follow the company for a few weeks and follow-up on what investors here tell you, and you will be able to form a solid view point of your own. The good thing about this company is the potential. While I do not understand all the technological ramifications of the product, I can see that it wouldn't take much to move the stock price up substantially. But only you can decide if the reward/risk ratio is acceptable to you.
Agent,
Very insightful. I had not replied earlier becuase I have been very busy and had not checked the internet in several days.
He can have the cookie. However, in the morning, the record is going to show that it closed at .13. In fact, he can have two cookies, or five for all I care. I don't decide where it closes. LOL.
The official close is .13. After hurs don't count.
I think that one one contract with one major studio that allows RLTR to show several hundred films, we will hit $1.00.
The BestBuy people did not set it up. My friend's friend did it. He lives in Charleston and probably got the equipment at the Mt. Pleasant location. I see what else I can find out.
42" Maxent(?) HDTV Monitor/TV. There are others that do the same, but this was the best value for the dollar. If you have the right plugs on your computer, I was told it is no big deal. I wish I could help you more.
Alexa rating keeps going up.
I got a friend who went to BestBuy, got everything he was told he needed, then had another mutual friend come and put it all together . Now he can watch RLTR on his big widescreen (about 50"). It works. It's this box that runs wire into the computer and other equipment. This box has 6 different places on the back where one can hook up. They include computer, cable, DirectTV, etc.. I really couldn't tell you. But it works like a charm. So, those BestBuy people just don't know what the hell they are doing.
Question: Does the management fo Reeltime owe any stock in privately owned Grid Networks?
Interesting follow through from a couple of days ago. Coinsidence? Maybe. But maybe some people in this company are trying to get the news media looking our way and the price of the stock mvoing before releasing the news of a major development. Let's hope so.
One major studio contract that gives us access to 200 or more films of at least average quality means that there will be a number other than zero in from of the period.
Well, now we know what it was all about: the increase in price the other day and the improvement in Alexa ratings. The last of my three reason for the increase in price: Someone knows something the rest of us didn't know. And that was the article in the Seattle rag. Some people read it, and say to themselves: "we better get in before it goes up." And second, the reason for the improvement in the Alexa ratings: a lot of people in the Seattle area checked out the Reeltime website. Unfortunatedly we do not have the content to generate a follow-through. But the potential is still there. Hopefully RLTR will get its act together before we develop a bad reputation.
